Just don't. Dishonest practice. Two male PAs are trustworthy and wonderful. The female doctor is a liar and a fake.

I have been going to Raleigh Family practice for over 20 years. It may take a month or two to get in for a "new" patient appointment (depending on doctor or OA you are seeing) but after that scheduling is much better. Blood work/lab appt. are fast and easy. Sometimes I have to wait 10-15 minutes past my appointment time but that is because the provider is providing great service! I never feel rushed when I get into exam room & with service provider-they answer my questions. Nurse interactions are good. Appointment scheduling at check-out good. I would definitely recommend Raleigh Family Practice. If you don't click with one provider there try a different one. Pros: Easy parking on-site (parking garage), elevator to get up to floor, handicap accessible bathrooms & wide hallways for wheelchair, early morning appointments (before 8 am), etc. Cons: n/a read more

My doctor is Dr. Jarrett and he is AMAZING. I don't see him often but he takes great notes and recalls so much of my health concerns each time and has a solution every time. His usual nurse, I believe her name is Joy or Joyce, wasn't who I was seeing today and she has taken blood from me before. Today, I had someone else and SHE CLEARLY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING. She messed up a simple number on my paperwork that my doctor caught and I already was thinking "if she messed up a small thing like that, how can I trust her with a needle." Lady, you're sticking a whole needle in me and if you aren't confident, HOW AM I COMFORTABLE. Then she wanted to flex on me and say if I don't sit still she can't take my blood and told everyone else that... you didn't stick me right if the blood isn't coming out and you're moving the needle to guess... She called in another lady and I thought she could get it but then she proceeded to move the needle back n forth while it was already in me. Then asked if I drank water before coming, of course I did but I said no so they don't feel inclined to keep trying. I have smaller veins and nurse Joy here normally uses what they use on babies on me and doesn't go through ALL OF THIS. I would have asked for her after but I gave two people the benefit of the doubt and didn't have a free arm so decided to come again. It's crazy I couldn't get my blood taken today and that was the main reason I came. What a waste of a visit. If they couldn't find my vein they should've just not tried at all. This is ridiculous. I'm going to ask for my usual nurse on my next visit and if they can't agree to that I'm going to have to transfer somewhere else. Update: I now go to the doctors office located beside the ob/gyn by WakeMed in Holly Springs. The phlebotomist there works for both sides of the facility and it only took one stick, as it should. read more

The care from the doctors is good, but the office staff can be rude and dismissive and lack the compassion to be working in healthcare. This review is coming from a healthcare professional. They use a portal that is not user friendly and sends incomplete information to the patient. When you call the office to seek clarification, the staff is rude and dismissive. Now the physicians are requiring a 6 month "med check" appointment and hold your long term prescriptions hostage unless you go. This used to be a good trusted practice, but not anymore. I'm looking elsewhere after 18 years. It's a shame. read more

A long-time physician (Dr. Bean) is retiring, and he was fine. But if you're looking for a good doctor, you will NOT find any left at Raleigh Family Practice. I absolutely, positively, do not recommend ANY of the remaining doctors. Dealing with them has been a nightmare on every level, and I am not the only one who feels this way. Have been going to Raleigh Family Practice since its inception, mostly seeing Dr. Gary Bean. He's the best! Love that he doesn't just dispense meds but listens and is open to natural means of helping heal. Today for the first time I saw Dr. Jarrett, the newest MD on staff. Totally positive impression. He took quite a bit of time with strength and motion exercises to help diagnose the problem with my shoulder/neck/upper back. This afternoon I received a detailed care summary from my visit along with helpful exercises. Will definitely see him again. read more

horrible! Receptionist rude. wanted to charge me $45 fee for missed appointment when I had called 24 hrs in advance to tell them I would not be there. Dr. Babcock has the bedside manner of a lamppost. called my prescription in to wrong pharmacy- one that's 150 miles away. Didn't take insurance info but called me after my appointment when I was back at work to get it. This office is unorganized and I don't trust them for my health care. run the other way as fast as you can- I am! read more

I've been a patient at RFP since I moved here nine years ago. Initially, I had a wonderful doctor, but she left the practice and I was put with Dr. Babcock without asking me who else I would like to see. For years I displayed signs of hypothyroidism and autoimmune disease, but was dismissed. I repeatedly asked for full thyroid panels, as I have a family history, and again, I was symptomatic. Despite my requests, only TSH was tested, which is a pituitary hormone, not thyroid. To get a full picture, you need to test T3, T4 and for antibodies at least. I complained that my hair was falling out, I was exhausted, cold all the time and had brain fog. I continued to gain weight despite strict diet and calorie control. All of this symptoms worsened, and every time I mentioned it, I was told my thyroid was fine, and that I just needed to diet and exercise. It was even suggested that perhaps I was just depressed. I feel that I was dismissed as a "difficult" patient, treated like a hypochondriac. On top of all of this, I experienced two years of infertility and two recurrent pregnancy losses. This led me to seek out a new doctor, who diagnosed me with Hashimoto's disease, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid, and can cause infertility, birth defects, pregnancy loss, joint pain, weight gain, etc. TLDR: my symptoms were valid, I was really sick, and I was treated poorly. If I had only been treated with a modicum of care, I might have escaped years of illness, pain, and heartache. BTW, if you are looking for a good primary care facility, Dr Bean at Mosaic Comprehensive Care in Chapel Hill is wonderful. read more

I am surprised that there aren't reviews for this place already. I've had multiple visits to this location for various reasons over the last few years. I did not do much research before making my decision because I was looking for a doctor that was currently accepting new patients. Found one here. I have repeatedly had great customer service and care given here. You can do walk-ins but be patient (pun intended) because you might want until a doctor is available. Nurses are efficient and seem to enjoy working there and there's always bright faces at the reception desk ready to get you checked in and seen. If you are in the need for a primary care and live in the general area you can't go wrong here. read more

Dr. Gary Bean is a consummate professional and actually practices what he preaches. He's an old-school physician, which believe is a great thing! If you go here, be sure you don't get stuck with Dr. Juanita Patel. She really could be the worst doctor we've ever seen. I'm not sure about the other physicians here because she is the only one we have been to. She barely looked up from her computer to engage with us. We went for an ongoing issue that really scares us and we don't know what is wrong. We were hoping to finally get some answers or even just suggestions. I have no idea how this woman even got a medical degree. It was a really upsetting experience and hope this review saves someone else from going to her. read more
