From first contact to procedure to walking out the door, Raleigh Radiology (Cary office) earned their five stars. I was referred by my doctor to Raleigh Rad who contacted me the day after the official referral. The operator was extremely flexible with my appointment and knowledgeable about the procedure/prep. I was able to schedule a time that was good for me (unheard of in today's medical field) and given the option to get there early for prep or swing by the day before to pick it up. Anyone that can save me some time is winning in my book. I was also contacted one day prior to the procedure by the accounting person to make sure that I was clear on what my insurance was paying and what I would be responsible for. What a great concept! Upfront price (which I thought was incredibly reasonable btw) and the option of a payment plan. These guys should open a car dealership or real estate office. Fast forward to the actual appointment, the office staff were one of the most happy bunch I have run into. The office is conveniently located in a brand spanking new building off Cary Pkwy. I was taken back on time and finished when promised. Maybe I am just used to receiving poor service when it comes to anything medical, but I can't log a single complaint about Raleigh Rad. If you have a choice when being referred for radiology, I highly recommend these guys. read more

I checked in for an ultrasound and was in the waiting room when someone came up to me and said very rudely, with an accusatory attitude, We don't have an order for you!!! Like I did something wrong! My PCP's office called me that morning and told me that I needed this done quickly and gave me the address of where to go. I was starting to explain that because it didn't make sense to me. She was acting like I made a mistake and continued to question me like I was wrong! I was asked to go back to waiting room to wait! Turns out the mistake was made at Raleigh Radiology. I was there for 2 hrs!! Never got an apology or a complete explanation of what happened! Very upsetting experience! But I have to say the technicians who did the ultrasound were professional and very nice! 5 *. It's reception that needs work!! read more

It should not be necessary for me to contact a Patient Relations Manager. These people aren't doing their jobs. I tried calling this person and had to leave a message as she wasn't there. I still haven't heard back from her and my doctor still hasn't received my X-ray results! I've downgraded my rating to 1 star. read more

if I could give a 0 I would!! VERY inefficient and confused!! Went there today for a bone scan. Did all the pre work on line. This was after I tried to call to make appointment twice and they said the system was having trouble so they would call me back and never did call me back. I arrived 15 mins early for my appointment. "yes, we'll be right with you" after I checked in. An hour and 15 mins later still waiting to be called. I went to the desk to see what the problem was. They NEVER completed my check in!!! The tech that finally called me back thought I was a no show. Thank goodness I went up to the desk to find out. This WOULD NEVER AND HAS NEVER happened at WakeMed. My 2nd was a MRI for my back-was an appointment! Making appointments Very easy/got in right away!! My tech's were "Remu!?/and another young lady!!" Both Caring/Gentle/Friendly/Great Listeners!! Made me feel Very Comfortable/At Ease!! Walk-in chest x-ray. X-Ray tech "Chris!!"/Friendly/Caring/Helpful/Great Listener!! "Carla!!" helped check me in all visits!! My husband was sent for an ultrasound and it has been 12 days and no results yet! Called twice before someone admitted that it got lost due to the holidays and that no doctor has yet reviewed it! This is totally unacceptable!! Supposedly results will come in today but we will never return to this facility. read more

I've never had issues with this place and unfortunately I've had to be here quite a few times the past two years due to multiple injuries. Was here last week for kidney stones and also went a month ago to get an ultrasound on my 3 month old son. They were incredible with him and walked me through the whole thing so I wouldn't be nervous! read more

On 10/29/24 I had an appointment at Raleigh Radiology - Holly Springs, NC, for an MRI at 9:30a. I waited 30 minutes in the waiting room before I brought back. I was taken outside the building into a mobile unit. The technician, Scott, then took me back into the area where the MRI was to be performed. The MRI required contrast. When Scott was preparing my arm to put in the IV, I had a very uneasy feeling from the start, ALWAYS go with your gut. He told me he blew my vein. I said that never happens to me. He said I had weak veins; I have never been told I had weak veins, and I have had blood drawn, surgery, colonoscopies, and donated blood many times and no one has ever said that. He then tried to do my right arm. He could not fit between the table and the cabinet so he was doing it from behind me. I felt intense pain and ask him what he was doing because it was hurting. The lady that brought me into the unit came into the room. He said he blew the vein in my right arm as well. He kept saying he was sorry, and he had a look on his face that he knew he had messed up. He didn't even give me instructions on what would happen next. The lady brought me back inside the office and advised I would have to reschedule. I said it took me 3 weeks to get this appointment. I said I didn't understand what just happened and I didn't think Scott knew what he was doing. She said that they have heard that from others. I said how does he still have a job. She said they asked themselves that as well. This is unacceptable. I wanted to file a complaint, and they said they would have a manager call me. I have yet to have anyone call me. I called my doctor to see if I could get an appointment for the MRI with Wake Radiology. I will never go back to Raleigh Radiology. Especially with Scott as a technician who floats to different locations. As of 11/13/24, the manager of Raleigh Radiology has not returned any of my 7 phone calls. I have not been able to file a formal complaint. Although not as bad as it was, I still have nerve pain in my right arm down to my fingers and have to wear a brace when working. read more

Once there, I am very happy with the care I receive. My complaint is with follow-up and scheduling. I am told my scan was fine and I can go, then I get a letter saying they found something. It is impossible to reach anyone other than billing or scheduling on the phone to resolve it. Very frustrating! The patient portal is way behind with scans as well. The IVRS when you call is absolutely rage-inducing. One menu leads to the next, leads to the next. "Listen carefully because our options have changed!" If you hit "0" it takes you to the top of the IVRS tree, not to a person. SO FRUSTRATING. read more

My experiences here, with my elderly mother and a couple of times for myself too, have been mediocre at best. The biggest problem I had with this facility in Cary is the reception staff. Rude and slow. If you work at a reception desk, you should greet people with a smile and actually have a good personality. That lady just ignores everyone.  (Note: I have not been in the office since the pandemic, so I don't know if the same employee works at reception in 2022; let's hope not.) The Duke system is much more efficient and friendly. Get your imaging done at Duke instead, if your insurance covers it. read more

Wow, I cannot put into words how appreciative I am for how patient and accommodating both the Radiology Technologists at Raleigh Radiology was with me when I visited their office this past Friday for my MRI. Erin and Katie were professional, easy to talk to and very patient with me, mainly because I'm claustrophobic and had troubles relaxing for my MRI. They didn't rush me one bit. They played jazz music to relax me and helped me with a breathing exercise. At the end of my MRI, they had me leaving a whole lot more comfortable than when I walked into the lab. Again, thank you Erin and Katie for the excellent care you provided. You both are top notch in my books. PS, The ladies in the front office were amazing as well. read more

I would not recommend Raleigh Radiology Cary. We recently experienced twice, scheduling mistakes (MRI and CT scan) with lack of concern. Since they don't confirm appointments via email or phone, there's no accountability on their end.They have no sense of urgency especially for cancer diagnosis which is a delay of care for my mom who is 78. They have inconvenienced her twice now and she left the office mad and upset. RR contacted me to schedule my mom's MRI and then her CT scan at the Cary office, both scheduled on different days and times. The MRI appointment was early at 7am and when arriving we were told that her appointment was for the following week. I was clear of the date as I had written the appointment time in my calendar while on call with the scheduler. Today we arrived at their Cary office on time only to be told that her appointment was for next week the 21st -impossible, we would be returning back into town that day froma trip. I made sure with scheduler, while on the call, that it was on the 14th and she confirmed it. I guess you have to be a certain type of patient to be valued by Raleigh Radiology! read more

Received an automated call in response to a referral. Have been on hold for over 45 minutes trying to make an appointment. There is no option to get a call back, you just have to sit and wait. You need to get a better system in place. read more

I was seen at this office in March 2020. After my insurance paid, I received two bills for my portion which I promptly paid in March of 2020. One was for the doctors's services and the other one for their own services. Then I started getting bill after bill from the billing office. Every time I called them they explained that they were not at work because of covid and could not verify the payment was actually received by them. As a result both bills were sent to collection at different times. I am having the bank refund me the amounts of the checks so to pay the collection agency directly but this is ridiculous, aggravating and complete unnecessary. If you want to save yourself from such headaches I suggest you stay clear of this medical practice. read more

One employee rudely and abruptly intercepted me in the parking lot as I was walking in. I did not answer back. So 2 min. later, she followed me to the front desk, stared me down, trying to intimidate me as I was checking in at the front desk. No customer deserves to me intimidated by the staff. Also the mammogram radiology tech was very curt and cold. She said "why are we doing this?" hello, it's my breast health. duh ! It was a diagnostic and the radiologist did not even grant me a face to face consultation. This place is just an assembly line. They just want your insurance money. Wake Radiology in Raleigh is much nicer - the staff there was very warm. read more

My first visit here was in November 2020. The technician that I had took my mammogram scans. At the end of the session she told me that I would probably be called back to get more scans because she could not get clear pictures. I decided to cancel my appointment for this year because of my experience there. I called several times and waited approximately 30 to 40 minutes on hold waiting to cancel my appointment and never got through to a live person. I got so frustrated that I actually drove to the office and canceled my appointment in person. I explained to the staff my experience that I had and they assured me that they canceled my appointment and offered to have the office manager call me back. The office manager called me back and told me the technician I had was no longer there and apologized for the wait that I had on the phone and explained that they were having trouble hiring people to answer the phones. She confirmed that my appointment was canceled. I was ok with that explanation and then yesterday I started receiving texts about my appointment reminder for the appointment that I canceled. I cannot recommend this location at all. read more

Do not go here at all if you want to reimbursed by your insurance. My visit was August 17, 2018 and I am still waiting on reimbursement of $280. Why? They did not put the diagnostic codes on the paperwork to submit to insurance which I did not know until I called my insurance on September 27th. I was told Raleigh Radiology was contacted Sept 7th and had yet to respond to Aetna. After a week of calls to get things straightened out, I was not the recipient of a call back from the person who runs Raleigh Radiology. I left a voicemail for him to call me after I had dealt with office managers and billing both who were dropping the ball numerous times. Finally, billing called and said Aetna did not have a filed claim. Yes, it was in limbo and had not been filed because they were waiting on a DIAGNOSTIC CODE. When I called Aetna they pulled it up without issue. I doubt RR billing even called Aetna. Today I called Aetna and it still has not been processed. If I am lucky I will see my reimbursement by end of the month. If Raleigh Radiology would have submitted my paperwork it was going to cost almost $400. I was told this by phone and when I arrived that day and I would be given the paperwork to file for services for $280; I was told it was a 40% price break for filing on my own. Luckily, there are other places available and I will never use Raleigh Radiology unless I am unconscious. I might add they want your MONEY before treatment. Most offices collect afterwards. How money hungry is that? read more

The facilities are nice and new, but the staff, aside from the techs, are not good. Before I had to go, I had to be preauthorized for my appointment. They received the authorization and had a question about it. Instead of calling my insurance, they called me and asked me to call my insurance to ask a simple question. Two weeks after my appointment, they sent me a full bill for my MRI. I called them and was told there was something wrong with my insurance. I called my insurance and they never even submitted the claim. If you can avoid them, please do. If you plan on paying for your appointment in cash without insurance, you are fine. read more

I had my first CT Scan at RRCary.. My technologist Christina Casper and Bonnie Merritt were amazing. They talked me through every step of the process and continued to check on me throughout the test. I am afraid to death of needles and I didn't even feel it when they put the needle in. My nerves were a wreck and my "magnificent dual" put my mind at ease. Mammography here is fine, they confirmed a lump on my breast, but the biopsy was flawed. It said I had a potentially cancerous phyllodes tumor, instead of the benign fibroid adenoma which I actually had. I ended up getting unnecessary surgery because of the bioposy I had here. Thousands of dollars later, they said "Whoops, it was a fibroid--aren't you happy?" No, not after countless hours of worry, and an unnecessary lumpectomy! Steer clear of this place. read more

Had a different experience about a week ago at the Cary Parkway location. I had a 3:30 p.m. appointment on a weekday and was not actually seen until after 5:00 p.m. Apparently, there was just one imaging tech on duty because someone had called in sick. This person was working a 10-hour shift. I would have preferred to have been told all this when I walked in and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I would have. This was a routine screening mammogram appointment, but nevertheless important to me. I would have preferred having the exam done by a person who was not handling the work of two people and working a long day. I didn't feel good about it, but what could I do? I don't plan to return to this location. read more

**BEWARE - BILLING - NIGHTMARE** I had medical treatment (surgery) at a hospital earlier this year, never received a bill (did not even know I was treated by someone from Raleigh Radiology) and realized I had an obligation to Raleigh radiology when three (3) negative reports of collections were made to my credit report. The 3 reports look like duplicates of one another (same dates and amounts). Based on the dates on my credit report, Raleigh Radiology was extremely quick to sell the account to collections. The staff was excellent - very personable and helpful however - I will never return there for any diagnostic care. The offices are dark, dingy and dirty. Carpet is ratty, walls and flooring are heavily scuffed and in need of repair. I had a bone density test and the room I was in was like a closet stuffed with dusty manuals and an old beat up desk that looked like it was picked up from someones curb. The clincher was the computer they used for my procedure - I am in the IT field and I can tell you they don't make those huge CRT monitors anymore and they certainly don't manufacture computers with floppy drives... so with no DVD drive... what the heck kind of software are they using to run my test? How old is it? No one ships on floppys any more and haven't for a million years. That computer was definitely from the late 1990's or early 2000's... I have to say I felt very uncomfortable through the whole test and wanted to just leave.... I still have lingering doubts about the quality of the test and worry about the state of the actual machine used to perform my test. That was the only facility in my healthcare network but I will absolutely pay the $500 out of pocket to have that test performed at a more up to date facility. That felt like an underfunded back alley clinic to me... yikes... scarytown. (Staff was great though) read more

I've had a few procedures done there and each time we've had issues with them not sending bills and this last time it got as far as collections, which we now have to pay in full to avoid credit issues. Sending out a bill would be nice before getting a collection notice. And upon calling them we were rudely hung up on instead of having the customer service capability of helping out an unhappy customer. Thanks for nothing. I went here for the first time in October 2017. I received a bill in November for the service and promptly paid it within a few weeks of getting the bill. Last month I started getting harassing phone calls from a collection agency - the biggest kicker was the phone call was just a recording and they gave you a number you had to call to find out what they were trying to collect from you. After getting calls throughout the days and weekends as well as evenings I called them to make them stop. When I told them I had paid the bill they said there was nothing they could do that I'd have to call Raleigh Radiology to fix the issue, they would be putting this on my credit report. After calling numerous places I finally got to someone at Raleigh Radiology's billing dept. I sent them a copy of the cancelled check and heard NOTHING. I had to call back 9 days later to find out what was going on. I was told they had trouble locating my account and applied my payment to an unapplied account. No apology, no I'm so sorry, no nothing. I had to do absolutely everything for THEIR mistake. I will NEVER use them again and I don't recommend you do unless you want a poor credit score for paying bills on time. What a nightmare. I wish whoever dreamed up their billing collection policy would have to actually be on the receiving end of it - they may understand why so few people want to come back after dealing with such a mess. read more

*Very long* waiting time and poor customer service. I got there 15 min early as instructed and was taken back to women's waiting room. Waited an hour; at that point I went out to the main desk and asked nicely what was up, and said that I had another pending appointment (which was true). I was told that I was next, so back to women's waiting room I went. However, two other patients from the women's waiting room went in next, while I sat there. I went back out to the desk where I spoke with yet another staff person..."I have been waiting an hour and 15 min, and I have to leave now, but will I be billed?"...to which she replied, "I'm helping another customer." This is not how you treat paying customers. At this point, I have no idea if I'm going to be billed for the service that did not happen today, and I'll have to go back to my doctor to get another order for service. I have never waited an hour and a half for any doctor, anywhere...this is ridiculously bad customer service. Save yourself some time and book your radiology appointment somewhere else. read more
