I was shopping for diet squirt and there wasn't any on the shelf. So I went to the warehouse of the store in the back room to see if they had any. when I open up the door to look for help I was shocked to see raw trash piled up all over Frito lay chips. When I continue to look for somebody else. I was in disbelief how trashed their back room was. There was trash everywhere there was carts and carts of damage and leaking items piled up by the Card board Baler. I finally found the employee by the name of Sean sitting out back. When I asked him for help. He was more than happy to help. We ended up finding my product I needed. But I am shocked on how dirty the back room of Raleys's is. So on our way home we drove around to the back just to find cardboard and trash strewn all about. I love shopping at Raleys but The back room has me questioning should I be shopping here. read more

Racist! Was there round 9pm last night with my girlfriend and the security guard literally stood and watched us pick out our wine. Then as we walked out he stood outside while we got in our car then he went back inside. Smh. Very uncomfortable feeling! Obviously watching us. I have never shopped here for a sandwich, but was going to have a picnic at the park with my little girl, and I was in the shopping center anyway so we stopped by the sandwich counter. The girl who helped us, Melissa is a shining example of excellent customer service. The lady in front of us was taking her time choosing deli meats but Melissa made eye contact right away and with a friendly smile, she thanked us for waiting and would get to us as soon as possible. I've been to other grocery store sandwich counters where the employee never acknowledged that I was waiting 6 feet away from them and seemed put out there were customers so right away she made a good impression. When she was able to help us she apologized again for the wait and was as personable as if she was selling food at her own deli! Melissa should be commended since because of her, you gained a new customer for your sandwich counter! read more

I have been a shopper at this Raleys since they opened years ago. Before that, I was a shopper at the Belair at Arden and Eastern, also since they opened. I love both markets. They each are wonderful yet different because of the personalities of their staffs. The management is good to the staff at both markets. Therefore, the staff is very happy and willing to help me in so many ways. I go there for the conveniences and the great products. But it is the feeling of being made welcome that keeps me happy. read more

I have to give them one star after their poor customer service last Saturday. I completed my order at the self-checkout but needed something else so I went up to the manned checkout stand in that aisle and waited for the clerk who was manning it to come help me. And waited. And waited. Meanwhile, other clerks AND a manager kept walking by me and working in that area and completely ignoring me. I was quite obviously in their line of sight. Finally after about two minutes I gave up and left. I can't believe they would just ignore a customer and not help them, and especially a manager of all people! That was the most shocking part. Also, the layout of this store makes it hard to find items. I am never going to this Raley's again. I'll stick to the Raley's up the street on Marconi where their service is always excellent. read more

I like my rib eye steak with the bone. They are now putting two steaks to a package and they are quite sad looking. I was told they are doing it that way in order to save the customer money. They are thin cut and usually don't have bone in which why they are cheaper. I don't want cheaper, I want quality. One day I asked the butcher if he could cut me two, bone in, 3/4 inch steaks and he replied "we're not cutting rib eye today. I left and went to Whole Food where I got exactly what I wanted. I love the Carmichael RALEY'S, however, they had better wake up before they start losing regular customers to other stores. read more

I purchased small shrimp and the employee said that they are are "fresh." I got them home, opened them, and they smelled like acetone. I sent an email to the corporate office on 9/9/15 and until this day I haven't heard since. Also this is the 2nd time Ive experienced seafood purchase at this store. Stay AWAY! read more

A Very good store. I bought a couple of briskets in the butcher shop. Butcher also seasoned the briskets and told me let the seasoning take effect before the BBQ. Prices sometimes at the butcher shop is lower than other Supermarkets that do not have the same quality. Staff is always helpful and attentive to their custormers. read more

I went in to get a fever things and I had voucher for $12.00 from the Something Extra rewards program. I grabbed a sandwich from the deli, smart pop, and some kettle chips. At check out my total was $11.99 and the checker added a bag for .10 cents. $12.09 is the new total. Perfect! I hand her my voucher and it's not working. She then goes on to say "have you already used it?" And I tell her no. She goes "is it old? Or did you already use it? When did you get it? You must have used it" and she hands me back the voucher as I un bag my items in front of tons of people. She writes down a 1-800 number and I walk out embarrassed and about to cry. I call that 1800 number from the parking lot and this sweet guy tells me the voucher is in fact valid and the only reason I could not use it was because it doesn't cover tax on the sandwich!!!!! Why the heck couldn't the cashier tell me that?!? Instead she keeps insisting I've already used the voucher I received a couple days earlier. This is the reason I typically choose Safeway over Raleys and BelAir. The customer service is terrible. read more

I have been coming to this store since I was a kid. I remember my Mom shopping here and now that she's passed on, it's bittersweet when I do my own shopping here. But I'm grateful this place is still around. My favorite memory is of this great checker they had when I was a kid. At the time, I was really into Debbie Gibson and I used to wear a black hat like Debbie used to back in the 80's. I was about 11 or 12! Anyway, this checker always remembered me and whenever Mom and I went to his lane he would say "here comes The Hat!" I wish I remembered this great man's name. He is long retired, but it's a very sweet memory for me. Mom & I really liked this kind, classy, & sweet man. I appreciate the professionalism and customer service at this store. Also, it's clean and well-lighted. One thing I don't like is that they got rid of the natural/organic foods area that used to be separated from the rest of the store in its own section. I understand their strategy of integrating the items throughout the store, but I like having my natural/organic items together in one section. The Peet's Coffee shop in the store is so convenient and cozy. I also really like the fun and unique seasonal/holiday aisles and items. Although the store has changed over the years, it's still comforting to see the old Raley's signs outside and to shop here. read more

First off lets get this issue out the way...many people that are giving this store a bad review are complaining about the "High Prices," which I'm not denying that their prices are fairly high, but the intellect behind this matter is, high prices, high quality products, high quality service, high quality customers, high quality reputation. In reality low prices attract low income consumers, which naturally would bring down the value of the store. Might as well go to Walmart or Food 4 Less ( I believe it's called Whole Foods out here), if your looking to shop in that type of atmosphere. Raley's customer service is absolutely impeccable. The many times I've been to this store at the Fair Oaks location I've always returned to my car with a smile. Someone is always there to help you even if help is not requested. Everything is easy to find, if not someone is right there to assist you. By far Raley's is the most friendly store I've ever been to. They have a very impressive selection of produce and meats; their deli and coffee shop is surely magnificent. Not to forget their Something Extra Program is a plus! With that said, my overall review for this store is, I absolutely love this store and I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for amazing customer service, excellent products, and a relaxing environment. read more

This is a really nice Raley's and for the most part I enjoy coming here because it's close to my home BUT I will rate it low because customer service is lacking. Actually just one person in particular. Her name is Shelby C.. The last 2 times I have been here, she's been rude with questions and treated me like I'm some sort of thief. I self checked out and she actually went through my items and re-scanned items because she assumed that I skipped scanning items, without even going through the computer monitor to make sure it was scanned or not. Turns out she was wrong because after I paid and a couple of items had to be returned because she double scanned them. The other time I asked her a simple question about a grocery item because I thought it was priced per item and she just walked about away with stating "Noop". Who talks to a person with no eye contact. Then when I was going to carrying things to my car using the store grocery basket, she insisted I unload basket can place it in a cart because she said people has been stealing them. I'm sorry but being treated like this twice in a row by the same person is no coincidence. Either she's profiling folks or just has poor mannerism and customer service. read more

I have been a life long shopper at this Raley's location and would like to start off by saying they have the best customer service and friendliest staff! I decided to right this review in the hopes that it reaches someone who has the authority to make vendor decisions. I have spoken for years about the quality of produce and meats at Raleys. However, about 2 years ago I noticed a decline in the quality of the produce and even mentioned it to a staff member as a concerned neighbor. I had watermelons that were rotten inside and had to be returned, and corn that had worms in them. Apples that were without flavor etc. I did notice a slight improvement in produce since then, but far from the standards I had grown accustomed too. I have come to find out they have now switched their meat vendor. I bought 3 new york strip steaks from the new vendor. I had always bought the angus beef in the past, and had been very happy with it. The steaks I bought from the new vendor are fatty and gristly, and lacking in flavor compared to the angus of past. I have been forced to buy my meat and produce from Sam's Club due to the superior quality which comes at a cheaper price. I did not mind paying a slightly higher price for meat and produce because I loved my neighborhood store. Similar to paying higher priced at Emigh hardware over going to Home Depot. You can't beat the customer service and quality. I am not the only one who has noticed this decline. My neighbors are also commenting on the inferior produce and meats. I really hope Raleys takes action soon to improve their quality before its too late. I fear people will start shopping elsewhere, and it will be difficult to gain those customers back once they are lost. read more

On Sunday, May 29, I was in the store at approximately 6:30 p.m. to pick up a couple of items for dinner. I had, in my arms, my 4lb Yorkie who I have taken into the store numerous times over the last 3 years without any problems at all. She is always in my arms. When I first walked into the store, I walked over the where the boxed "Hot Wood" was and we picked up a box of wood for our fire pit and put it in the cart. The store manager saw me then and asked if I needed anything else and I explained to him I wasn't done shopping yet. At that time, he saw my Yorkie in my arms and never said a word. After being in the store for almost a 1/2 hour, the same manager came up to me and very rudely told me animals were not allowed in the store and TOLD me to leave. A women with tattoos all over her body and piercings on her face said standing near the deli counter said, "Yeah its a health code violation." Really! She was the health care violation, not my dog. What the very rude and unprofessional manager didn't let me explain was my Yorkie is a trained and certified Therapy dog. At the time I didn't have her apron on her as it was in the upper 90s and very hot, which is also why I didn't leave her in the car, which would have been animal cruelty and a crime. We visit hospitals and senior centers all over the Sacramento area and the Bay Area, and just came from a senior citizen home where my Yorkie made some very ill and very frail patients extremely happy. In closing, my family and all our pet loving neighbors, will never shop in your store again! The only reason I gave one star was because Yelp requires you to give something. Raley's you really need to send this manager to people skill training. He have never met a more ignorant, rude and unprofessional person in my life. I will not tolerate being spoken to in such a manner. read more
