Only tried it once but the customer service was outstanding as well as the food. I don't find myself in RC often but this place is a great reason to head over there. The day we went, we were looking for sandwiches to eat. Seeing the active smoker outside, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was BBQ Day! We ordered Georgia Peach Sweet Tea, Blackberry Mango Iced Tea, Cherry Cashew Coleslaw, Alabama Style Potato Salad, cornbread, 1/2 lb brisket and 1/2 lb pulled beef shoulder. The drinks were refreshing, the sides were so good I ordered more to go, and the meats were very tender & juicy. There was also a side of complimentary pickles that came with the meats that were quite tasty! My only criticism was the cornbread, hubby liked it but I thought it was too dry. Looking at the containers, it doesn't look like a lot of meat but we did have some leftovers. I see that their menu varies so I need to check them out soon and try their other BBQ offerings. Find them in a trailer in front of Home Depot. There's picnic tables available for dining. read more

You wouldn't normally associate a small wooden shack at the front of a Home Depot to be a mecca of BBQ sandwiches but that is exactly what it is. Don't let the rundown appearance fool you; hidden behind their small screen window sits an epic tri-tip sandwich: The Black Cadillac. They can call it the Purple Volkswagen, it wouldn't matter, this sandwich is really good. All of the ingredients, including the roll, were excellent. The potato salad I had was equally as good. You could tell everything was made and prepared in house. Places like this usually expand to a more traditional restaurant space after a while, but I honestly hope they don't. All too often these hidden gems lose their charm and quality when they do that and that would deprive us of a truly great sandwich. read more

Damn their food is delicious!! We stopped here for a meal to take on a hike and split the black Cadillac sandwich and the brisket mac and cheese. We split these two items and it was more than enough food for two. The sandwich is soo soo good! The black garlic sauce and balsamic glaze are fantastic! Su h a nice change from the usual smoked tri tip sandwich. It was a delicious sandwich! Like others have mentioned the meat can be a bit tough but luckily it is sliced thin. I Always go to the Home Depot this cafe is located in front of and wanted to try this spot. I finally did and they did not disappoint. I made my order, went inside Home depot to shop and my order was ready when i came out. The mac and cheese was really rich and flavorful. I ordered the Black Cadillac at Big Boss Cafe. The tri-tip meat was a bit tough and chewy and cut super thin, but the black garlic and balsamic glaze added a lot of flavor, which made the sandwich enjoyable overall. Buns were toasted perfectly as well. The service was super friendly -- the guy working the counter was especially nice and welcoming, which made the experience much better. I came here for lunch as I'm a big sandwich fan and read the many positive reviews. The place is a hole in the wall type of place in that the restaurant is attached to the front facade of the Home Depot. There are many choices and I went with the recommended Cadillac Sandwich which is made with tri-tip, garlic butter, parm-cheese blend, lettuce and tomato on warm toasted white bread. The flavors were on spot and complimented well with the recommended Japanese lemonade soda. Definitely add this to your list of great Sacramento sandwich spots. Don't let the location fool you! I questioned this place since it was in the Home Depot parking lot, but i was wrong! Great place for a quick lunch. Their food is delicious!!! So, my fiancé sent me on a Home Depot run (classic), and I knew he'd be hungry. Enter: the Black Cadillac combo. You guys... this sandwich is life-changing. Tri-tip, garlic, Parmesan cheese, lettuce, tomato--all piled onto a toasted garlic roll that dreams are made of. I grabbed chips and a lemonade too. They let you fancy up your lemonade with flavors, but honestly, the regular lemonade was so good I didn't even bother. The guy working there was awesome--super friendly and even gave me a military/healthcare discount (I didn't even ask!). Everything was packaged perfectly while I ran inside to do my shopping. When I got home, my fiancé was so impressed with his sandwich that I'm pretty sure I earned myself a free pass on chores for the rest of the week. He couldn't stop raving about it! For a shack in front of a Home Depot, they know how to whip up a delicious f****** sandwich. I got the tri tip dip. I wish they gave me more au jus sauce however the sandwich was fantastic! The bread was soft, the tri tip was a little fatty, but good, the pesto was amazing, the onions were bussin, and the cheese was alright. Highly recommend for a quick grab (if there's no line). I've passed up this quaint little pop up once too many times, but today was the day to try, and I'm so glad I did. The owner is extremely warm and welcoming and told me that they stay open until people stop showing! Who does that, unless they love what they do. I love the setup, super rustic and cute. The names of items on menu are also super unique. I ordered the power plant---- I couldn't believe I ate the entire thing, that good! Good flavor, the sweetness of the grilled onions, complimented with the light heat from the peppers, and sour from the pickles with the zest and cream of the pesto.. let's not forget the baked bread used- all a wonderful combo, and my palette thanks you both for that! I was told that the Turkey BLT and the black Cadillac were on point as well. The blackberry mango was so refreshing and delightful. It really felt like Summer while the tea! These guys make excellent sandwiches -- really tasty and high quality. Unfortunately, there is a serious issue with the accuracy of their business hours. On Google Maps and Apple Maps it often shows that the place is open, but in reality it's closed. I've driven out here several times from far away, and only managed to eat twice -- every other time it was closed. I kindly ask the owners to pay attention to this. For customers, it's important to know that the place is truly open during the stated hours. This is part of customer service and respect for guests. let me say this. this place is directly next to the exit doors of a home depot...yes, home depot. My first impressions..."i don't think so". I even walked to the order window and looked at the menu and walked away. I couldn't bring myself to order from here. Who eats from an Home Improvement establishment situated by the exit doors? He said that they only use the freshest ingredients and recommended their beef sandwiches- can't go wrong, but they were out of beef. Darn. But he immediately suggested their Black Cadillac (5 oz of tender sliced tri tip, black garlic butter, sliced white onions, parmesan cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a sweet balsamic glaze. Drum roll....wow, OMG, Sweet! this was definitely one of the most testiest, most tender, juicy, most flavorful tri tip sandwiches that i have every had. The sandwich roll does remind me of a banh mi bread roll- fresh, soft/chewy inside with a tender crunchy outside crust. this sandwich was exceptionally good. Well balanced- not too much meat or other supporting ingredients that would overpower some sandwiches - just the perfect combination of protein and veggies....again wow. This sandwich was a 10. I generally rave about sandwiches from corti brothers or the deli in San Francisco and Half Moon Bay, but this place is hands down better than Corti Brothers but maybe even the bay area places. I can't even believe i am saying that. And forget about the pocket pita sandwiches from Pocket Deli down the street-that place doesn't even hold a torch to this place.
