So this store is big and fancy, but it's really not worth it. I've been to this store many times and the bad out weighs the good. Personally, I rarely see the items I buy on sale. And when I do, it's no better than safeway. Example: I get Starbucks double shot drink. Never once have I seen it for lower than the 2:69 at Raleys, but at Safeway, I often see it on sale for just $2. The sandwich station is a nightmare. For one, you're lucky if anybody is working at that post.. and if not, good luck finding someone to come over. And when you do get a sandwich made, there's no telling what it'll be like.. sometimes you get an excellent sandwich, other times you get something sloppy that looks like a 5 year old made it. Their customer service is a mix. There's a lot of younger checkers that just goof around. I've had a guy and girl hitting/flirting with each other while ringing me out and tried to bring me into it. I've seen the management guys goofing around as well, and flirting with all the girls that work there. Many of the people who are nice, are extreme about it and seem forced. But there certainly are exceptions. Which leads to the next part: Peet's Coffee is a great addition to the shopping center. Most of the people who work there are really nice and make great coffee. Also, the people at the pharmacy are very helpful. The best thing about this store is the self check out. Get your stuff, and avoid the employees at all cost. read more

Came in this morning for a pastry and a cup of coffee ,well there was only about 10 pastries in the case so I took one and went to get coffee at peets and the whole store was having a rah rah meeting up front NOW WHAT COMPANY HAS A MEETING WITH THE STORE OPEN SO ALL THE CUSTOMERS CAN HEAR . Needless to say no one at the coffee bar to help me , they were all up front getting off on themselves along with all the donuts and pastries for the employees, no wonder there wasn't anything in the case. If I could give this place no Stars I would . Will never be back. read more

This place has great products, good management and good service. Produce is good, they have a deli that makes good sandwiches but it is expensive. Anytime I go to raleys ( not too often) I spend more than I would have at luckys or Safeway. read more

Raley's in Petaluma is a great place to shop. They have a decent selection of quality, organic produce and natural goods. The service is friendly and helpful. The coffee bar and self-checkout options are my favorite features. **EDIT** The sit-down area with tables, television and a play area for the kids is SUCH a great idea for busy families who need to refuel & recharge between errands! This new Raley's market, is wonderful and beatiful. It has really made this old shopping center come to life with all that it offers. Service Clerk Pam offered me wonderful customer service during my recent trip. While prices seem to be slighty higher on some items compared to Safeway, this store still gets high marks for all the other areas of service they provide. Way to go!!! read more

Raley's is great in all categories: Green efforts, customer service, prices, local products, gluten-free products, etc. If there were a wider selection of organic, local produce I would've given them another star! read more

I went to petaluma Raleys for the first time last Wednesday (day before thanksgiving) and pretty much loved it. I was in charge of pies for dinner and drinks. I went right to the bakery and it was packed so I knew I was in the right place. I didn't even have to ask for help. And young lady was right there asking what she could help me with. (I believe her name was renne) Not only did she help me buypt asked me about my plans for the next day. She was very personal and made me feel like I have been shopping here for years. If you like mispriced items and outdated foodstuffs, this is the place to shop. The last three times I've been to this store, I've been overcharged for items (and, unlike other grocers who take responsibility, at Raley's it's "oops", not "here's your mispriced item(s) free due to our negligence"). Many outdated items including craft beer (which, by the way is perishable and shouldn't be sitting on a shelf instead of in refrigeration). read more

I used to love their pharmacy until the I caught bronchitis. Too sick to go anywhere I called to ask if I can have my prescription faxed so my husband can just pick it up for me. Instead of listening to me on why, Chris ASSumes that my prescription is filled out on carbon paper instead of an actual peice of paper so she rudely tells me that's not normally policy because they end up not able to read it and it says it on there that they need the original. Sorry Chris, I hate kaiser and i had a piece of paper not a carbon copy prescription with no where on it stating it needed to be hand given to the pharmacy. Since she was being rude and not listening I slowly gave my ooookaaaaay and then she says okay thank you bye bye and hangs up. I understand we all have our bad days, however in customer service it doesn't matter if you're having one you still need to give great service. I wasn't feeling good and didn't want to have to make my husband come all the way home, pick me up and take me there and then come all the way back with my bronchitis. I help pay other pharmacists paychecks now. As far as the store, I really do like how they have a wide variety of food and drink. Things you wouldn't normally find anywhere else. What I don't like is how snooty some of the workers are. Just because I have sleeves (I'm tatted) doesn't mean I'm a hoodlum low life. My husband also has tattoos and literally as we were checking out the lady smiles and says Hi how are you doing today? I smile back and say I'm fine thanks how are you? As I answered her she noticed our tattoos, lost her smile and didn't answer my question. It was like I never said anything and she didn't even say anything when we were leaving. You know, just cuz a guy is dressed in a three thousand dollar suit doesn't mean he doesn't go home and beat his wife. It's pretty lame. One other time is when I went in the morning with my mother and because I had a Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers bag, they ASSumed we were a couple. Not knocking gays&lesbians it's just really? That would be the second time I was judged by my exterior. It's not really worth the extra money I have to pay just to shop there. read more

When Raley's first opened there sushi was awesome my son and I would go there all the time for the sushi. We went there tonight and the sushi was nasty. I got the crunchy shrimp tempura roll not only was the temperature a soggy but there was also a bad fish smell. I guess I'll have to find another spot to get good sushi very sad. read more

Horrible customer service in the prepared foods section. Rude middle aged guy with fake accent is so rude and unfriendly. It's nearly impossible to have someone make a sandwich. Everyone's always talking bad about the customers and unfriendly. Super annoying to deal with everyday. I still continue to shop here but do not like the service. read more

The recent closing of various Raley's pharmacies around the area have created a nightmare for filling prescriptions in Petaluma. The lack of planning and preparedness for this change is beyond frustrating. I have tried to fill maintenance medications since before Christmas. I have stood in line for over an hour only to be told the prescriptions that I received a text are ready, are not. So far no one in my family has been without critical medications for a long period of time, but hearing the stories while standing in line about people that can't get their insulin is scary. I'm moving both my pharmacy business and all grocery business. Hope your bean counters factored in the loss of grocery spend when they mismanaged the closing of the pharmacies. I am a business executive and completely understand needing to close under performing businesses. But you really have to have a plan! I have filed a complaint with the CA pharmacy board. Doubt it will help but hopefully someone steps in before someone is hurt. read more

I had originally ordered a Minnie Mouse cake from here for my daughters first birthday, I was told by a friend that if i ordered it from safeway that they would include a "smash cake" for the baby. So i cancelled my order and went to safeway.. Bad choice. Here is the review i wrote for safeway: My daughters first birthday was coming up and I needed to order a cake. I had ordered it from Raileys cause the last fruit basket cake we got from safeway wasn't the best. My friend told me if you order a cake from safeway they will include a "smash cake" for the baby for free. So i called safeway to check if they had the same Minnie Mouse cake i had ordered at Raileys, i was informed by a male that they did. So i cancelled my order at Raileys and ordered it at safeway. I was told they had that cake and everything was perfect. A week later, day of my daughters party, TWO HOURS BEFORE it was time to pick it up, i get a call from a man in the bakery department. He tells me they actually don't carry the Minnie Mouse cake..... I told him its pictured on their website and when i called A WEEK AGO to order it i was told they had it. He didn't have much to say except sorry we don't carry it. I was SO angry! He puts some other lady on the phone who basically repeats the same thing, which i didnt care to hear. How unprofessional to call someone day of their parry, just 2 hours before the cake was supposed to be ready and say oh sorry we dont carry that cake!! So the lady then tells me, we have a mikey and minnie mouse cake, luau theme. I don't want that... if i wanted that i would have ordered that to begin with! I told her how Raileys has what they need to make the cake that i ordered, and asked if they could maybe get it from them.. She tells me oh i can make you a cake and then you can go buy the kit from Raileys and decorate it. WTF?????!!!! I ORDERED THE CAKE FROM YOU, WHY WOULD I DECORATE THE CAKE???!!! She knew i was angry, and said she would call back. Waited, waited.... waited. No call. I called Raileys and told them the problem and what was going on, and they were beyond helpful. She told me she could make the cake no problem, AND would include a smash cake even though Raileys doesn't do those anymore. She saved my day! Never again will i order a cake from safeway! After dealing with all this, just hours before my daughters party, my mom called Raileys. She spoke to someone named Ciera and she told her that they would make the cake AND include a smash cake which they don't normally do. This saved my day! Thank you SOOOOOO much! A clean and nice grocery store with a good selection of vegan, vegetarian, organic, and gluten free stuff. This would be the second best store to shop for these sort of items in this town. The prices, however, or so-so at best. Some things are really well priced, and some things are just not. Which is probably why I don't do a whole lot of grocery shopping here anymore. The employees are very polite and kind. I've only had one bad encounter with some guy who worked in the sandwich department who fakes some sort of Irish or Scottish accent. Upon asking him if he was Irish or Scottish, he became extremely offended...as if I had decided to slap his mother or father and said, "NO. I AM NOT." A little strange...but I have never encountered him again. I like that fact that this store is open until 11 p.m every single day. This means if I get a late night craving for my organic martinelli's apple cider, I can have it. This is the only store that seems to carry this particular item too. They also have a very good selection of beers for a good price, if you are into beer. They also have a good selection of special soda pops. read more

About 2 weeks ago it was my sons birthday, we messed up on his cake and came into Raleys last minute to try to get one. Wren was who helped us saved the day! She said ' give me 20 minutes and I can make you whatever you would like.' My son looked in the cake book , picked out the Ninja Turtle picture and Wren went right to work! I didn't think she could do it and make it look good in such a short amount of time. But she did!!! Her customer service was wonderful. We will definitely be coming back for all out birthday cakes. incorrect weights on meat items twice: first was a turkey at thanksgiving my wife bought weigh at 20 lbs my scale it weighed 16 2nd my wife bought 2 rocky chickens both were weight and priced the same when she brought them home i could see one was much smaller by 1.5 lbs the store manager called and explained that it was their mistake and would refund the item which they did but with no compensation for our time to return this item most store such as SAFEWAY OLIVER'S WHOLE FOODS WOULD REFUND AND GIVE YOU THE ITEM manager made it clear this was not Raley's policy so there it is your time is worthless as is their customer service read more

I love the Pharmacy Staff at Raley's. They are so helpful, informed and genuinely friendly. They even pointed out a coupon once that saved me $100 off a medicine I needed. I don't have insurance currently and they knew I was going through a rough patch. I became a loyal customer at that point! I even get my dogs medicines here so I don't have to go to our out of town vets office. Best of all, no lines, no waiting. Remember old fashion customer service? It's alive and well at Raley's Pharmacy. Now the grocery store itself is a bit pricey IMO, so I shop 80% of the time next door at Trader Joes and use Raleys for the items I can't get at TJ's. read more

I made this account and am spending the last few minutes of my lunchbreak writing this because I HATE Raleys just that much. I just had a teenager stick his hand in my face and tell me his line was closed with attitude. Half the time I go there only the "family friendly" line is open and apparently I am not allowed to go in that line because I don't have children (thanks for rubbing it in Raleys) and then I have to go to express checkout where half of the items don't scan and where you can have the pleasure of becoming a victim of fraud like many people in petaluma have. Sub-par deli, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service ...such a disapointment for what would be a nice place if I actually was allowed to check things out here I don't know why I bother coming in every single time I do I regret it, one just gets desperate working in the same shopping center. read more

My sexual harassment story at Raleys. Ive thought about speaking out on this issue for a while now and I'm finally ready to do it. I was an employee at Raleys some time ago (not going to be using specific dates) and i was verbally sexually harassed everyday. It made it afraid to come to work. I was harassed by nearly all the MANAGERS and lived in a constant state of fear. Many of the checkers would look young girls up and down and make disgusting comments about them as they left their check stand. I told a higher up manager and very little was done. i have proof of the sexual harassment that occurred and have heard many other girls tell similar stories. I have more than enough information to sue the company and have a family of lawyers who have been trying to get me to pursue legal action. I still get anxiety to this day when i walk into the store to this day. The things that were said to me were not things a young girl should be hearing in a "safe" work place. The experience still effects me to this day. I would advise anyone who wants to apply here to stay far away. read more
