Went shopping here at 8:30 in the evening and it was a ghost town. So not what I'm used to in Sacramento. They had everything I needed and I made my way through the store quickly. I thought it was pretty awesome until I went to go check out and there was only one check stand open. It took forever since I had to wait behind all the people buying energy drinks and cigarettes before I paid for my huge basket of groceries. Great place to shop but highly do not recommend the bakers! I ordered a cake and the cake wasn't centered correctly, my daughters birthday cake fell over and the cake was smashed on the side or else it wouldn't have been dissembled like that. My family has been getting cakes from Raley's multiple times a year for almost 20 years. But for the past couple years, they have messed up a lot of the cakes we ordered. Just last week we ordered a birthday cake and asked for two fillings of strawberry glaze and banana custard and also asked for multi-colored balloons as a design on the cake. I asked the employee multiple times if he wrote down that we want different colored balloons and he said yes. When the cake was picked up and we looked at it, the balloons were all one color! Also, after we cut the cake, we noticed there was only strawberry filling. No banana at all! Last year, we told the employee over and over again the name we wanted on the cake and even spelled it out for them. When we saw it, the name was spelled completely wrong! On my birthday 2 years ago, we ordered a cake a week in advance and on the day of the party when we went to go pick it up, the employees told us that they didn't even make the cake! They had to make it within an hour and did not believe we paid for it even after showing them the receipt that I had messaged to me from home. A family member had to come and show the physical receipt. It is really disappointing to see a place we loved for so long go downhill. read more

The review is for the store lead only: "Raman". Terrible customer service. She belittles the customers and even the employees right in front of the customer. She made me feel stupid for asking her to confirm an instacart customer's birthday for an alcohol purchase. Sorry that was just a part of the instacart job. All she had to do was look at the date and say "Ok" so I could proceed in the checkout process, but instead she stopped completely what she was doing and scolded me in front of all staff and customers. As a manager or store lead I thought she would care about that important step as an alcohol delivery, but instead I was scolded for no reason. It's understandable and an obvious given that she wanted to see my ID for the purchase, but she did not even give me a chance to hand her my ID before she scolded me in front of many customers and staff. All she did was go on about how she didn't care about my instacart customer, whom is the actual Raleys customer purchasing from this store! I'm not going to be held responsible by Instacart for not asking the cashier to accept the customers birthday, which is part of the mandatory step-by-step check out process, so I asked her to verify and she still threw a fit and made me look stupid in front of everyone. Also, she had the audacity to ask me how my day was going, right after she belittled me in front of everyone. Well Raman it was going great until I met you. Big shout out to "T" the manager of the floral dept for ruining my daughter's senior prom by making THE UGLIEST CORSAGE IVE EVER SEEN with half dead roses! If you actually had pics to show people of what they were ordering instead of making people order sight unseen, could've saved myself the heartache. I was actually standing in the store crying because it was that bad. The other employees picked off the dead pedals & gave it to me for free, but I'm too embarrassed to give it to my daughter. We shopped at Raley's in Oroville and Chico for 20 years.now we use the Yuba City store and the on one East Ave in Chico,when we're in town.All the Raley's have great customer service and that old adage'You get what you pay for' applies here.We pay the same and ,sometimes,more than other stores,but look what we get:Clean updated stores,clean restrooms,excellent meat,produce and dairy.decent pricing on most things,and outstanding customer service.We're not well to do,we believe in supporting family businesses such as Raley's! read more

I have been shopping at raleys for a few years with my wife and daughter and today I over heard something that made my wife and I so upset that we had to leave. We were trying to pick out a cake for my daughters birthday this weekend and we happen to over hear a conversation between two employees. One employee held his cool and treated the situation properly while the other one was very vulgar in her language and made the employee feel belittled for having to ring him up. Raleys bakery has always been my go-to for birthday cakes. The time before my most recent order, I ordered a cake for my moms 60th birthday and when I went to pick it up they didn't have it. The lady at the counter told me someone was supposed to call me, but after going through my call logs it was clear no one had. She gave me a free cake after this, which my mom and everyone one else enjoyed. I felt this issue was righted, however I have yet again run into another issue with Raleys and their bakery. I ordered a birthday cake for my boyfriend weeks in advance. I picked one from their glass case that I thought looked good and specified what I wanted written on it and how. I missed a call the day before I was supposed to pick it up (yesterday). I called back the same day. The lady who answered the phone sounded very annoyed with me upon answering the phone. She told me that whoever had taken my order hadn't written down what kind of cake I wanted. I attempted to describe what it looked it, and she seemed even more annoyed. She told me what kinds of chocolate cakes they had available by tomorrow and I ended up going with one of those. When I went to pick up the cake, it was very plain, not like the ones in the glass cases, and they had yet to do the pop letters I had ordered (I asked for it to be ready at 12 and went to get it at around 4pm). I ended up just buying a random cake in the glass case instead... I really wish I would have just told them to forget about it and spent my 30 bucks elsewhere. I miss the old Raleys Bakery. Next time I'll be going to Sams Club or maybe a local bakery. read more

DONE with this grocery store! Called managers and home office to correct problems and they are still unresolved as of this week. Watch the dates on perishable food items! I've had 3 meals ruined due to the fact that as I was in the process of cooking them....food like cheese, milk or even pizza dough, peanut butter....you name it have been out of date. The last straw was this past week I was about to buy the sausage that was 'on sale'...well, the use by date was the 17th of January and here it was 10 days past....YUCK, not only yuck, it could land someone in the hospital with a bad case of food poisoning. Unlike Yuba City Belair Super Market and other Raley stores, the YC store does not have the self check out aisles. I had to wait over 10 minutes today just to buy 2 items versus a self check out would have taken a few minutes. When I voiced my concerns to the female foreign manager, she said that's the way it is and in a condescending voice said she would raise my concerns. She said not enough room yet they had over 5 check stands which are not used and I don't recall ever seeing them all used so why not take one row out and install self check out kiosks. Needless to say, the YC Raleys will not see me in there again. read more

This is the store where I buy my milk, bread and smaller grocery list items. The store clean and well kept with a good variety of bulk foods with a full service deli counter. The cashiers are nice and helpful and of course there's carry out service if you need it. Another reason I like it is because they have a lotto machine there that's open all the time they are open, unlike the local Bel-Air supermarket that closes down the machine after 8-9PM. read more

I love shopping here because everyone here is so friendly and they make it a point to go over the top with customer service. I also like the fact that they send you coupon in the mail for discounts and free items. The reason why I'm not giving them 5* is because they don't have a self-checkout line and the prices aren't that low. However, I would shop here over any other grocery stores in Yuba City or Marysville. It's much cleaner than Bel Air, as well. read more

Everytime I walk into the store I remember why I don't shop at the cheap bargain stores. Every single employee that I walk by greets me, askes me if I need need any assistance. They are so friendly. Nick...the red haired Butcher is the BEST! If you dont see what you need on the shelf.. he'll get it for you. He even did uo a couple of Tri-tips with a dry rub for me on the spot...such a cool guy! And the quality of cut meat at Raley's is so much better than that grey yuckiness at the cheap stores. I love the store brand products...the produce...the people. Im not well to do by a long shot...but i will still spend the money and go to Raley's over a bargain store...ANY day! read more

I love the girls in the bakery and working as the baristas... they are always super friendly and extremely helpful.. Never complain when we try to figure out how to use a coupon on the rewards card and if we get it wrong they always fix it so it still comes out the way we wanted it. every year now for about maybe 5 years we bought our Thanksgiving dinner from Raley's & every year we were more than satisfied. this year the price went up ($10.00) but that's just business but the turkey was stringy & the green beans were not editable plus no pie or rolls. If I could give no stars I would. I'm used to going into other various Raley's and bel air markets and the encounters never have been like the one I just had here. Currently I'm sick and went to get my favorite type of soup that is only found at this store at the moment, I can't find it at any of the nearby grocery stores. I went in with my fiancé and the experience was HORRIBLE. The manager that was very rude from the start he started to ring us up but in the middle of the transaction he walked away and started to front face the endcaps. There was a female employee picking up the trash at the nearby closed registers and she came over to apologize and total us out so we could pay and leave. The manager came back and resumed the transaction having her step aside and proceeded to say "I think I'm going to start having to educate my customers on how to properly fix the shelves once they remove an item and looked at me and my fiancé- I was taken aback because I grabbed the soups from the back of the endcap so there was no gap showing. Then the girl told him he shouldn't have left in the middle of the transaction because we were just standing here waiting to pay and couldn't. To which he said "it's not because he's (my fiancé) is wearing raiders gear". Then he looked at my fiancé and said I hope you plan on rooting for the rams because they are a California team. We got our merchandise and proceeded to leave and I heard the girl say to him that he probably just made a bad impression, and he truly did. I have never met a more snarky and rude manager in my life. Saying he thinks he needs to educate customers. I've worked retail in the past and was a front end lead and never experienced that with anyone before. They should really remove that guy since he clearly doesn't understand what customer service is about. read more

Went to Raleys after a day of work and meetings to get my mom a cake, flowers, and card for her birthday. I got a $23 dollar cake from behind the bakery. Took it home, cut into it and noticed a very long piece of hair coming through the cake. I PULLED the hair out from the cake slice. Called raleys-they tell me I can bring it back no problem. Show up to raleys with the cake only to be told that I can't return it because the "bakery manager" isn't there!!! Realllllly. I ask to talk to another manager. Same bullshit. They want me to take the cake back home and bring it back tomorrow morning. UM NO. HORRIBLE customer service!! I drove from across town AFTER someone told me I could bring it back. It's not like I bought a $5 cake. It's not like I didn't buy other stuff. I'm not trying to hustle you by bringing back a cake that no ones going to eat!! Horrible, im only giving star because i have to. False signs, the deli area had a sign saying they close at 9 but 15 min until 9 u cant get any sliced lunch meat or anythin else for that matter because the slicer was already cleaned. Now if u have a sign that says the deli closes at a certin time it should close at that time. Im extremely disappointed i have always liked Raleys but after this experience Im not sure about shoppin there anymore. read more
