I had a very disappointing experience at Rally's. After paying for my order at the drive-thru, I sat waiting for almost five minutes before another employee had to tell the cashier that my car was still waiting. She looked surprised that I was still there, and I had to remind her that I was still waiting for my food. When she finally handed me my order, I asked for a sauce. She told me it would cost 75 cents. I explained that after forgetting my order and making me wait, they shouldn't be charging me extra for one sauce. She responded that she had to keep track of inventory. I asked to speak with a manager, and she told me that she was the manager. She said her name was Sacramento. One complimentary sauce after forgetting my order and making me wait wouldn't have hurt the restaurant's inventory. Good customer service is about making things right when the restaurant makes a mistake, not arguing over 75 cents. Sacramento, You never know when a customer could be a secret shopper, and based on how this situation was handled, the service would not have met expectations. Very poor customer service from Sacramento someone representing management. A manager should know how to handle situations like this and make things right for the customer. I wish I could give zero stars, which I don't like doing but what happened here is inexcusable! Through their automated system, we ordered the hamburger kid's meal. We paid for it (on the right side of the car and left - no waiting. Mom can't eat while riding in the car, so she waited until we arrived at the vet's office. She opened her burger, only to find cheese on it. Since she can't stomach milk, I tried to call the phone number on the receipt to resolve their mistake. Unfortunately, whatever mailbox was full and/or I couldn't leave a message. So now she has to wait until the vet appointment was done before we could go back. This is when I really started to get angry. We used the same line as before, and there were two cars ahead of us. Instead of talking to the automated "lady" again, we just pulled up behind the last car. We waited, and waited, and waited - 20 minutes (at least) until we were at the window. We watched the employee take one walk up person after another, after another, while we waited watched her without even acknowledging our presence. She took three people, plus exchange quarters for dollars. Well, I guess that's where the one star can go. When we finally had her attention, I had to interrupt her as she listed the order from the car behind us. I alerted her to the problem and she apologized and took the whole bag from my mom. When I realized I told her the wrong toppings and got her attention to tell her. That's when I got a dirty look. I understand under pressure and I was the one who made the mistake so that one I'll let slide. Then when we were only handed a burger only, I got her attention again, to let her know there were fries in the bag she took and didn't look into. Then I got another dirty look. That one took it too far. It could be that someone called in, quit, or the other person was new to the job. That said, management needs to learn how to handle whatever staff issues are going on because the average customer simply doesn't care (even though they should!); they want their food in a reasonable amount of time for "fast" food. Worst service! Manager has no customer service etiquette! They are charging $14 plus tax for these chicken tenders! Waited patiently in line to get a refund and she continued to do everything but address my issue. She ignored me and continued to serve people in the drive thru. People in front of me asked multiple times for their drink! They are not that busy to be ignoring people and need to prioritize! I stopped by today to order two items. While waiting in line, I noticed two other orders were messed up. When I opened our bags, both our burgers were missing items ,mine was missing an entire patty from a double cheeseburger. My fiancé didn't want to say anything because the line was long and we had already waited a while, but I asked to have my burger fixed. The first employee said no problem, but another stepped in and challenged me, insisting that's how it was ordered and refusing to fix it. This place was pretty good - good enough that we came back almost everyday! and it was our farewell meal before leaving the area. Can't say too much about the entire menu but their chicken tenders were a huge hit with the group and their icee/slushie were decent too. The orange dream tasted like a creamsicle pop, the watermelon slush was tasty and refreshing without that artificial watermelon taste you get in Jolly Ranchers, and the raspberry sort of tastes like the Icee. Their funnel cake fries are on another level. You'll be addicted to it before you know it with its hot, chewy texture and powdered sugar. Pro tip: Ask for extra sugar. Just make sure to clean yourself up afterwards, lol. Their ordering system uses AI, which can be a hit or miss taking orders. We made a huge order and the AI missed one item. When our order was brought to us (they had us park to the side), the employee forgot an item. We got out and reminded them + ordered our missing item. If you don't have time, this can be an issue. Pro tip: Check your order before you go. It seems to be a common problem here. Despite these small issues, this place is fast and efficient. The employees were pleasant to deal with and nice too. Stopped by for a quick night bite after drinks and was deeply disappointed by their large loaded fries. They were too salty to eat and I love salt but goodness gracious were they loaded with SALT! Got food from here today, it was absolutely horrible. The drive through had an ai generated responder which is how I knew it would be horrible. Then I got a near $12 meal which consisted of a chicken sandwich, fries, and I suppose a large drink. The fries were EXTREMELY dry and tasted like something you'd get from a dollar tree store. The chicken sandwich was very stretchy and hard to chew, almost like it was fake. The drink was the only good thing, but I mean how could you mess up a fountain drink. ALSO! First time trying Rally's, the food was great, but the portion was barely enough, and it was a bit overpriced for fast food. I ordered 5 tenders and 5 lemon pepper wings plus a drink. It came out to almost $25 Tenders were so small, they packed 5 pieces in a tiny box, and my box for wings also the same way. Sadly I could go to Wingstop or any fast food chains for better deal on wings and chicken even if they're not specialized in wings. So I can see the big disadvantage here for Rally's if they want to compete and survive because you don't see a lot of Rally's left out there anymore, soon they will probably jump ship. Fix it please. We came here once before and should've known better. The first time we came, the workers were rude and although there was no one in line- it took forever. We got home and the sauces we requested weren't even in the bag. Today marks the last time this place will receive our business. We went for a quick bite to hold us off until dinner. The total ended up being almost $30, but I didn't think anything of it since prices are always going up. Finally checked the bag and found 5 orders of Mozerella Sticks, instead of my one. Makes sense why it cost so much now. Well, we went back to get a refund- but because they "can't take the food back, Rally's can't do a refund". I managed a fast food spot and customer service has always held a 5-star rating for us. Then again, reading the reviews... apparently they really don't do refunds here. While we were waiting in line 4 people wearing Rallys uniforms walked out with bags of food. 25 minutes to get through the drive through -- only one of two drive throughs were open. Fries were room temperature. They replaced the fries with fries that were warm, compared to the previous ones. Get home to discover the drink was plain soda water -- no Barq's syrup at all. I loooove rally's! However this location really sucks. The kid with the speech impediment was really nice, (there was a fat kid who hated his life and was really rude the first time I went there). The light was flickering outside though and gave me a headache. We ordered a chicken strip meal, burger loaded fries, wings, milkshake, and regular fries, but did not receive our chicken strips or milkshake. The guy said the milkshake machine was finishing up a cycle and would be ready in a few minutes, so we parked but it took FOREVER. We ended up leaving and didn't notice we were missing the strips until we got home. Sadly disappointed in this place because the location on Main Street in El Cajon is amazing, the chicken is never over done, they're nice, and work quickly. I've been going to this Rally's since it opened in the 90s I think... And while the surrounding businesses have changed since that time, this fast food joint has managed to remain, which I think is a testament to the value and loyalty customers have for this franchise. Today, I rolled in at about 1230pm on a Friday. There were several cars in the drive thru lines and a small line at the window. I still managed to put in my order, pay and get my food in about 5mins! The usual turnaround on orders is nothing short of amazing if you bother to notice. How do they do it? Well this Rally's, like many of their other locations, features a double drive-thru! After placing your order, I admit It can be a bit of a stretch to reach across your passenger side seat to hand your money and receive the goods. It can be done, but it's far easier to have a passenger perform these transactions for you. Otherwise you should stick to the usually longer right-side drive thru line. Of course the breaded fries are a winner to those in the know. I've spent many evenings in this drive-thru just to satisfy someone's craving for Rally's fries. My burger favs here are the Big Bufford and the Baconzilla. Just keep in mind This is not where you go for grass-fed burgers on brioche with a touch aioli. There are plenty of those kind of places around lately, several of which I do enjoy from time to time. Rally's is a fast food burger joint that aims to do a decent and consistent job of serving up tasty food quickly. Stop by and give Rally's a try if you're in the area. Ah Rally's, I see your checker flag motif and dual-lane drive-thru burger shack. I'm glad you're around, but conveniently far enough away so I don't always have to get one of my fave fast food fries. Since I don't frequent this spot, I'll have to park and stare at the walk-up menu instead of holding up the drive-thru line. So many options: 4 for $3 combos, 2 for $6 burgers, $1 classic cones, 99¢ apple pies. And I just noticed Kool-Aid slushies. Service was prompt and friendly and just before the family lunch rush as the patio tables filled up. Not too sketchy in the daytime. I used to come here all the time but the last two days has made me very unlikely to come here again any time in the forseeable future. The first incident was when I got a Postmates order for this location. Now, I admit that it was during a lunch rush, and a bit longer wait times are to be expected compared to non-peak hours. But this order was pre-paid, not especially complicated or large, and I was about 7 minutes away when I got the order. So after I arrived it took at least a good 5 minutes before I got a chance to let them know I was there to pick that up. The cashier told me it would be about 5 minutes, I thought to myself "ok... should have been done or close to it already but... whatever." So I waited, and waited and waited. Finally after 25 minutes of standing there, they call my name, no apologies for the epic fail, nothing. I delivered to my customer, profusely apologizing for someone else's epic fail that I had no control over and went about my day. Then, for who knows what reason, maybe the memories of all the times I'd been here before in my old neighborhood, I stopped in the following night to get something for myself since I was in the neighborhood. That's when I saw the very nasty looking counter that you see in the images I posted. If they are so unconcerned with the cleanliness of thw area visible to the customer, God knows what it looks like on the inside, and that opinion is from someone with the experience in the industry to have a fairly valuable opinion on the subject. These two things tell me that this place is being grossly mismanaged, and at this rate, they will be continuing to slide further into Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares territory, which cant be fixed without a complete reckoning which almost always requires a mass firing and/or managerial change. read more

We love rally's, it's our one fast food weakness. With a large 6 person family, it really helps with the Decent prices and actual a little better than okay food. Make sure you get your credit card back! Because if you happen to not realize they didn't hand it back to you until after you drive off, you'll never see it again. I was shocked when I went to leave a review here and saw that it happened to someone else just a month ago. Who else had lost a credit card to this Rallys that we don't know about. I dont even live closeby this location so I called to stop the card right away. Then called the rallys to ask if my card was there, which I know it was because that was the only time I used it that day and I never got a receipt for my food, which would have come with my card. The guy who answered sounded like he was looking for it and asked some people. Then he said to call back in an hour and the other drive thru person would be back and he can ask. I find it odd that there is no standard policy of where to put items left by customers. Or is every cashier just a keeper of what they find? So I waited and called back... and when I did,no one picked up. I tried multiple times for half an hour. Nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if they block numbers that call about left items after they tell the person to call back. I just find it hard to believe that you are that busy at 2:30pm that you can't pick up. What kind of restaurant business is run like that. Needless to say, my beloved card is gone.
