I called Ralph's interiors in the beginning of January and emailed them . I finally got a response from the owner who braved how long they have Ben in business and the chairs that I wanted was a piece of cake to make . I asked if they do renderings if I were to give them measurements . They said that they could accommodate . I venmoed 450 dollars just for those. I'm her initial email after I emailed her the pictures of both style chairs I liked with measurements she clearly gave me a price and I was ok paying 450 to get those renderings started . After I got them back I was confused on why they drew lassen (tired man chair) when I clearly requested Fritz Hansen cabinet maker style chairs . I was told that I would have to pay another 450 to get the fritz Hansen chair style renderings. I agreed to go with a different style because I didn't want to pay extra . So that was already very disappointing when I requested something different and they drew a chair that I was not interested in the beginning . I was given a price for chairs and ottoman in their very First email and they knew that I would be providing the material ( see attached email chain and pics with screenshots) Never once I was told that price roll be higher based on what I requested . Not only they were so hard to get a hold of , I kept calling , emailing , leaving messages and I wouldn't get a response back . It was like pulling teeth talking to there people and when I actually did , it was all attitude and ego . Finally a month later I got the invoice to start the work , price was doubled . I asked why snd answer was that the originals are pricey so if I want something to look like it I have to pay that . Second excuse was that she was putting springs in the back rest area which she never mentioned in any phone or email conversations that it was going to go up over 1000 dollars just for that. I asked her to make it right because she had wasted my time and I already spend money to have them rendered those chairs and her answer was maybe I should get originals . Terrible attitude for a place that has been in the business for 45 years . My pricing went from 4k for chairs to over 8k for chairs. Her excuse was that's because she was using a different material and putting extra springs . Again I was already proving the material that was going on the chairs that I purchased . Long story short , I highly do not recommend this place . It was a total waste of time and every . Was a complete bate and switch . I am sure once she sees this review she is going to come back with some nonsense that is why I am attaching e-mail chair so people reading this can see the way they conduct business and not get in a situation that I did. Sherry tried telling me at the end that the original Lassen chairs are more expensive that's why her pricing went up . Bizarre statement to make and so I considered for how much time she wasted and money. read more

I brought in a chair that someone else had started to recover, but because they did such a horrible job on a different chair of mine, I decided to find someone else to finish this chair that they had started. That's when I found this place. They had scrap fabric that I picked from and recovered my chair in a few days (a week earlier than then estimated). I was an absolute upholstery novice. A friend of mine wanted to teach herself and go into this professionally, so I bought a set of vintage dining chairs for her to practice on. Fast forward a year and I've got not-chairs just hanging around in my apartment. I reached out to 10 different companies on Yelp and Sherry from Ralph's Upholstery was not only the most professional and the most reasonably priced but also the friendliest. Turns out, Ralph's was the speediest too. We came here to get cushion covers for a large cushion (also the size of a twin mattress) and 2 bolsters, and 2 custom stool slipcovers made. In addition, she also reupholstered our 2 kitchen stools with Belgian linen and nailhead detailing. Sherry used the most beautiful Belgian linen, and everything turned out better than we imagined. Sherry was so attentive and helpful with our order. The turnaround was fast, and the prices were very reasonable. Several times Sherry called to double check my measurements and kept us updated on our pieces. They made a window seat that is just what we wanted... better then we imagined. The pattern on one of the fabrics I chose was stripes and I was worried about a seam showing, as promised it's nearly impossible to locate it. Our other three pieces were ready in two weeks. Ralph's Interiors reupholstered four chairs for my breakfast area, including two antique tall Bergere chairs, and two chairs for my bedroom. It took me a long time to decide to move ahead--Sherry was very patient in helping me choose fabric and in answering questions galore--but I am thrilled that I did. When they took apart the antique chairs, they discovered the inner wood frame had rotted away but they were able to save the day by having their carpenter re-create it, all for a very, very good price. In fact, the whole superb job was very affordable. I highly recommend them. Following is my note to them: What a great job you and Ralph and Pilar and the dogs et al did. The chairs look very beautiful and the work seems sublime. How worth the wait (I mean the time it took ME to decide and be ready). Excellent quality! I ordered a cushion and bolsters for a well-used bench in my dance studio. I'm very particular about fabrics and style, so I thought I'd have a hard time finding what I wanted. Sherry took her time, listened to me and found the perfect fabric. The quality of the work on the cushion was perfection (they did piping, fabric pattern matching, zipper, inside cushion, covered buttons along the seat and matching bolsters). She took into consideration how often it would be used and how it could get dirty fast (it's mostly white with black designs on it). She even told me the best way to clean it. It has been several months, maybe even over a year by now, since I had it made and it still looks brand new! It hasn't flattened in any spots nor has the fabric worn out in any places. She really knows her stuff! I can't forget to mention her five "way too adorable for my heart to take" Shih Tzu's. They are fixtures at the store and will certainly steal your heart. read more

We are so thrilled with our Dining Chairs and Pillows that were done at Ralph's. Sherry and her father are amazing to work with and the results they provided were fantastic. This was a very special project for us. I inherited a set of vintage chairs from my Aunt that are very special to me. I wanted to cover them with hand woven fabrics that I purchased on a trip to Guatemala and have been holding on to for over 8 years waiting for just the right design project. Ultimately, we ended up covering the 6 chair backs with the Guatemalan fabric and the seats with Italian leather that we purchased from Ralph's. The chairs are simply beautiful, full our home with color and character, and the craftsmanship is beyond impressive. The whole project was done in just over a week, which was very important to us because we had family coming to stay with us from out of town, including my Aunt who is just thrilled with the way the chairs turned out.
