Ever since the store added the self checkout section I've used it no matter how many items I'm purchasing, this CONTROL FREAK AMBER tried to TALK DOWN to me IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS because she didn't like that I had a full basket and was using the convenience of self checkout, CONTROL FREAK AMBER'S HARSH TONE got the attention of the actual employee (who I see all the time) working this section of the store and she basically told NASTY AMBER TO BACK DOWN so I could proceed to settle up with the store on my grocery items. Came here to grab a ribeye roast on sale because meat be super expensive nowadays...And Von's had unfortunately failed me as they didn't have anymore by the time I rolled around, but Ralph's came in clutch with some decent looking cuts! I typically don't shop here, but decided to take a look at their weekly deals which are decent, so perhaps I will stop by more often. The store here also seemed pretty organized. I will gripe that I wanted to grab some of their strawberries on sales but the quality was ABYSMAL. Grocery stores are one of the places where I can find my coffee, meat creamer, coconut cream, flavor, assortment of meat, deli, bakery, and a meat counter is fresh and appealing to the prices are very reasonable parking is abundant. They also have life plans to buy or even flowers. The store as well maintain and clean service is great. I highly recommend the store. read more

So I was able to use my Ralphs club card to take advantage of the weekly digital coupon deals that were set to expire Today. Parking lot had plenty of parking. Self check out was open. Used to be my go to store. Now they have blocked off one end the drugstore stuff like tooth paste and soap because of the constant shoplifting. The rest of the store is over crowded with displays making it hard to get around and maneuver. They should have added smaller shopping carts long ago. There is a large roomy Albertsons in the same area with no aisles blocked off...yet. read more

Stopped in for a few things--what an unpleasant store. Avoid this one--go to another location! 1) aisles are so narrow that even if there's only a few people, it feels crowded 2) they think you're going to steal. They have a special aisle within its own cage, with its own checkout clerk. Around the store, items are in cafes so you need a clerk to get them. On the plus side: 1) store was decently clean and well-stocked 2) there were many clerks around the store (mostly standing there, not stocking shelves. Probably because the store thinks you're going to steal.) read more

Every day these guys are out of coors light 18 pack of bottles. I have talked to the main manager repeatedly for months now. They have 4 rows of cans 30 packs that are constantly full, all they have to do is remove one row of them to accommodate for the demand for the 18 pack of bottles. Its like the manager doesn't give a crap, this place is ran horribly honestly and it sucks because I live right next to this Ralph's but im not coming back anymore if i consistently come in and what im looking for is not there. I walked I and boom the sales Cereal,coffee and goldfish and toothpaste. So as I'm typing this totally forgot what I came in here for. Oh yes haha ice cream, and I recently went to a wine tasting in Temecula and on my charcuterie board o had a fruity cheese on it and I was looking for it on all the cheese section so nevertheless I opted for salami and another cheese I never heard of ,got some pies 2/$1 But the Kroger (food 4less/ Ralph brand ) donuts of 10' 2/$5 geez I remember them being $1, then $1.50 The guiding of the self checkout is okay it went by fast ,but if you aren't paying attention someone will walk up and just start using it. My recommendations get off your Phone! Or pay attention to what self serve cashier is open. Don't buy gift cards from this location, I ended up getting a scam gift card and this store still took my money and apparently my card was activated. It didn't work online so I came back to show them and showed proof that I brought it, this store will not refund me or give me a different gift card. So today, I decided to do my grocery shopping here instead of where I usually go to. I kind of have to go back and forth back and forth since I'm not familiar where everything goes which is totally fine. They have self check out which is good, and I think there's no other lanes open except for the self check out. The scanning machine kept giving us "help is on the way" so Clarissa who was there watching customers in the self check out lane went to us like 3 times to help which of course I was grateful because she automatically comes to us. So we're paying and for some reason the computer could not process my card and asked to do it again, when out of the blue this Clarissa came to us, giving me an attitude and raised her voice at me and said " Press card!" And went back. First of all, she was there to help the customers in the self check-out. Second, i didn't want to have a problem with my checkout and that attitude was uncalled for. This is our local Ralphs my mom and I went shopping today. The customer service around the store was so nice. However when we got to the check out the front end manager (I think) really made me feel bad. First she asked if I paid for our laundry detergent... we had to pay for them in the store within a store. We even had the paid stickers on the detergent. It doesn't stop there she asked our cashier if we paid for my energy drinks because I put them in our cart after he scanned them. And lastly she asked if I wanted my candy that the cashier had just handed me back because I was eating them. Assuming I didn't pay for three different things that were already scanned and paid for. It's like she just wanted to be mean. Being questioned about three different things really annoyed me. I left 2 stars because the rest of the team around the store was courteous. She was probably just having a bad day, and wanted to make someone feel bad. I'm we are going to take a break from Ralph's for awhile Vons treats us better. read more

Shout to to Nayeli, who attempted to help me but then got scolded by her manager for stopping to help. I was in to purchase flowers for my step daughter's middle school graduation, and their grad flowers were kind of puny, so I wanted to see if I could get some combined and wrapped in paper so they looked a little nicer. Well, miss manager walked up, scolded nice, helpful Nayeli, then looked at me and said "what's up, how can I help". I find that phrase comical because she was in fact not trying to help. I posed to her the same question I asked Nayeli, she said "I absolutely cannot help you, I'm busy with two other departments". Her tone alone caused some internal rage, so I calmly placed the items I was holding on a nearby table and walked out. Vons has earned a new loyal customer. read more

I recently moved to the area and started frequenting this Ralph's because their supermarket was always my go to in my old neighborhood. Unfortunately the Lakewood on Del Amo store does not uphold the same quality and cleanliness I am used to for a Ralph's. This location is smaller, the selection is not very good and unfortunately the produce quality is always lack luster. I tend to shop here only when I am in need of specific items that my local Trader Joe's and sprouts do not carry. The store itself is old and dingy, making it somewhat of an unpleasant shopping experience. There are rarely staff available or offering help on the floor. The one highlight I will make is a personnel by the name of Jennifer D. She has been my cashier on several trips and she is warm and personable, and always makes it a point to engage in friendly small talk. On top of that, she is sure to make sure I have added the appropriate and available digital coupons at check out. She is an example of great customer service. read more

The cherry on top is getting double charged for a item today. They make monitoring prices at checkout too difficult and they probably profit a lot by charging for items you never receive. This place usually has everything you'd need and mostly clean, shopping in and out. Usually everyone minds their own business and assist when it's needed. Pretty simple. Until I got the most unsympathetic cashier!! Today the cashier I got named DELMI notified me that there's no coins as I paid with cash. I replied, "Yes, OK". I am hard of hearing and usually can understand despite the mask but if I have trouble I usually tell them I can not hear very well. I had her repeat and she said there's no coins! She ended up getting an attitude despite already taking my cash and then notifying me that theres NO COINS. I ONLY PLANNED TO PAY WITH CASH AND NOT CARD SO IT WAS NOT A BIG DEAL. She goes on again, there's no coins while still holding onto the cash I gave her repeatedly telling me again, theres no coins. I understand there's a coin shortage however, I still planned to pay with cash. It went back and forth because she confused me even though I understood there was NO COINS! I thought maybe there was more to the no coins situation. As this was happening, she kept SHAKING HER HEAD AND HER FACE SHOWED SHE WAS CLEARLY IRRITATED, not understanding the fact that I already told her OK and that I can not hear very well. A person who should be able to clearly communicate would have no problem and gone on with the transaction while waiting for my receipt. Why did it go on for a moment longer?!? I HAVE NO IDEA!? Why did she just hold onto my cash while shaking her head as if in disgust that I was being confused? AGAIN, no idea!! As she gave me my receipt, clearly we were both frustrated. Making a customer feel "as if we were stupid" and couldn't "comprehend" that there was no coins? She was completely rude and as it was uncalled for, maybe she needs to be informed of other ways to communicate? RALPHS, PLEASE PLACE A CLEAR AND VISIBLE SIGN THAT THERE IS NO COINS so that cashiers & employees like DELMI doesn't need to waste their breath on explaining over and over again. I usually do drive up orders, maybe once a week on average. For the most part everything I need is available and the person that brings my order out is friendly and helpful. This process has been very helpful in my self-care routine because it allows me to not eat out as much. I did have an issue picking up my order today. They didn't notify me that certain items were not available plus neglected to bring out two of my bags. Thankfully I checked before I left. Things happen, you know? Out of the several orders I've made this was the first time an issue like this popped up. Christina, the associate that brought my bags, quickly worked to get me taken care of plus she was super helpful and pleasant. I appreciate that. Called back got David who transferred me to Kevin, supposedly. No one answered after 15 rings. Called back, pushed 3 for produce. Told him what happened, he said Kevin was the store manager, paged Kevin, who answered and said he got sidetracked and would go check..again. waited for a few mins, then got transferred to a non answered ring again. I've been shopping at this Ralphs for the past 5 years and have watched the quality and professionalism at this location steadily decline. To echo other reviewers, despite a sign outside the store stating that they don't allow solicitation, you enter the produce section and are immediately approached by someone trying to sell you internet. I go to the grocery store to purchase groceries, not internet. If I wanted Verizon internet I'd seek out a Verizon store, not a Ralphs. Secondly, I've observed the quality of produce diminish over the last year. A few months back, I purchased a bag of sweet peppers for a potluck at this Ralphs. When I got home and opened the bag of peppers, I discovered that they were covered in mold and immediately threw them away. Two weeks ago, I purchased several white onions. They looked fine externally but when it came time to cut them up for a dish I was preparing, I discovered that they were completely rotten on the inside. Today, I went to purchase food for St. Patrick's Day weekend. They were mostly out of cabbage. However, the few heads they did have were already turning black and a couple of the organic cabbage heads already had mold developing at their bases. Now, I'm very anti-Amazon and I've always preferred to have a real human check me out over an artificial intelligence, but the cashiers at this location have started to change my mind. When I shop at this Ralphs, I am purchasing my groceries in bulk for the week, and typically, I am making an alcohol purchase so self-checkout isn't an option. When I first became a patron of this location, there was this sweet older lady who would always bag up my groceries. Nowadays, there never seems to be a bagger available and the cashiers do not help. During one of my previous visits, the customer in front of me was purchasing a couple bottles of wine and there was a bagger available to help her. When it came my turn to check out (with a conveyor belt full of groceries, mind you), the cashier instructed the bagger to go to the parking lot to collect carts. The cashier scanned all my items, cashed me out, but made zero attempt to bag my groceries. I stood and bagged all my own groceries as the cashier proceeded to ring up the next customer, causing our groceries to become comingled. This has become a common occurrence so I just immediately start bagging all my own groceries. At this point, if I'm going to have to do the job of these employees, maybe it's time for Kroger to go the way of Amazon and only use AI in their stores. Finally, let me share my experience from today, Wednesday, March 13th, 2024. I arrived shortly before 9am. As I entered the store, I noticed all the coolers lining the perimeter were either completely empty, tied off with yellow caution tape, or had gigantic pieces of plastic duct taped over the doors. My first thought was that maybe the store experienced a power outage and they were attempting to prevent customers from grabbing potentially spoiled items. However, as I continued to shop, I noticed that there were multiple employees stocking the shelves and removing the plastic sheets/caution tape as they went along. Therefore, it became apparent that the store employees were still trying to prep the store for the day. Everywhere online it states that the hours of operation for this location are from 6am - 1am. Why at 9am are the shelves still not stocked? I see that another reviewer was told by an employee of this location that the posted hours are incorrect and the store doesn't open until 8am. If that is the case, once again, why are the shelves still completely barren at 9am? When it came time for me to check out, there was only one lane illuminated and no employee present. Three employees, including the woman pictured in my photo below, were standing near the front of the store chatting. I made eye contact with them as I loaded my groceries on to the belt and the woman in the picture told me she'd be over shortly. I stood at the register for several minutes as all employees present ignored me. The woman pictured in my photo could tell I was growing aggravated and made a comment from across the room that she "couldn't leave money out". Okay, I get that. I used to work in retail. However, this leads me to two questions; 1.) Why did this employee wait until a customer needed service to start counting her till? and 2.) Why at 9:15am, when the store has supposedly been open for over 3 hours, is the till not already set up? These are standard opening procedures that should be completed before the doors to the business unlock. At this point, I think I'm going to take my business over to the Stater Bros. or Amazon Fresh on Spring Street. read more

Please stop allowing solicitors in your store..I don't want to change my internet or be followed around when trying to spend money at your store. The store has a sign on their front window that says "we don't authorize solicitors" but the solicitors are sitting there telling us they have a contract with the store. DO NOT COME HERE. This Ralph's is now the absolute WORST. They have locked up everything from toothpaste to detergent in a blocked off section and at night you can't even get into it at all because it's locked. Find a better way to keep tabs on people who steal that doesn't COMPLETELY INCONVENIENCE your regular customers. Then when I went to self check out the attendant immediately stopped helping the elderly woman and stood behind me and watched me scan every item then tried to look away when I asked for a bag.
