I just had the best customer service right now from Star! She is so polite and outgoing. It's midnight on a Thursday morning and she was still so happy and just went the extra mile to make me have a great night. This is what customer service is all about !!! This Ralph's is great! It's big and when I go it's not so crowded. They seem to have most everything in stock compared to several other locations that I visit. I like the wide variety of items and how big the store is. Even when there's a lot of people inside it doesn't feel as crowded. The employees are great and always helpful! Nice Ralphs outlet with good shopping environment (clean store, nicely stocked shelves, newer interior). Staff has always been helpful when I've needed assistance. The produce at this store has always been high quality here. I hate it when I have to rummage through a bin of pears etc. to find a good one. All the fruit and veggies here look great. I think this is a great store! The people are so nice, knowledgeable, and professional! The food is usually great, including produce, which I buy a lot of. The store is clean, including the restroom. What more could I ask for? One other major thing! I'm a real estate agent. I'm getting ready to do my food drive as a way to give back to our wonderful community, and they have donated 1000 paper bags! I really couldn't do it without their help! There are a shortage of workers because either one of them quit or got transferred to another Ralphs store. And also, the customers are treating the employees unfair. Had my sons TMNT cake made here, and they definitely delivered on the deco. It was so cute and delicious! Big hit with my 2 year old and the party guest!! If I could rate zero I would. First, it is Sunday around 2:00 and the store isn't busy. I misread a sign and got the invite sale potatoes. When I got to the register, after she clerk told me the price, I said I thought these were. 99¢. She started I got the wing ones and started$4.99 please. NO Offers of getting me the correct item, or an option. Now I remember why I go to the Staters or Ralph on los coyotes. Main store that I shop at. Helpful employees, when I've needed it. However, this afternoon I witnessed the manager discussing work improvements with his employee. That's fine, and a responsibility of the manager. But you need to have some situational awareness when you do this. 1) Don't speak loud enough for the customers and other employees to hear. This wasn't your moment to be on stage. 2) Better yet, take your employee aside and do this privately. It almost appeared as though he was taking great enjoyment of pointing out this employees faults. Almost like a bully would to someone on the play ground. You really shouldn't have walked away looking so pleased with yourself. IMO - very unprofessional and poorly trained. I wanted them to make my cake for my 3 year old. On the date of pick up they didnt call me to let me know the printer wasn't working. As I go to pick up my cake I find out they had to make it differnt from what I wanted. They have my information, why wouldn't they call me? Now the cake looks exactly like it did from her second birthday. I know things are bad but we give them our information for a reason. I hate Absolutely hate this Ralph's!! There's one that was closer to me that was closed down & for some reason i have No idea why but this one the customers are so rude!! I was Turning to go to the next isle & a costumer zooms super close to me doesn't even say sorry just quickly walks with her wagon next to me like "I'm coming rather you like it or not" & I'm like "okay that was rude. Also other costumers just stand there & talk to their friends or family & slowly walks like there's nobody behind them. It's like "do you think your shit doesn't stink or something? You think you're better than the rest of the customers?" I wish that other Ralph's by me didn't close. This location is on a very busy intersection. It's close-ish but not really for me, but once in a while, you need to go into the bigger chain grocers for particular things. There are more organic products than in the past, as well as many vegan food options. They carry Beyond Burger (plant based meatless protein - I've tried it and it's flavorful). There are also many more choices for cleaning products (am partial to Tide or Gain HP, Dawn dishwashing liquid and Cascade _ I sometimes don't find these in other groceries - I think they stock by the local demographics). I very often buy things that are marked down as "Manager Special" - it's one way to get to try different brands or items. I've not ever had a bad experience with those markdowns (short dated foodstuffs (cakes, breads) or slow moving items such as vitamins or wine or coffee - all were within date and totally fine). The cashiers here are very friendly, courteous & efficient - did you know they need to know the grocery codes by heart !!! on all the produce? That's impressive mind power. If I could give this store a ZERO, I would. Big Difference in employees (with only 2 exceptions) / management between the closed Los Coyotes Ralphs store and this Lakewood Store. If you have to buy from Kroger, then you might as well drive to Kroger's Food 4 Less in the Ghetto Hawaiian Gardens. Won't buy Produce and Meat from this store. Too often, I'll buy an item on sale that's in the weekly Ad and the Sale Price is posted on the store shelf then will get charged regular price at Check Out. Then the employee/on-duty manager will pull out their hand-held computer, show me the price that's on it and tell me how I'm wrong. Then I'll go to the shelf, get the price off the shelf and show them the Ad. Homeless hanging around. Always panhandlers. Always someone shoplifting at night. No Security Guard. read more

2 days ago I went to Ralphs on Del Amo, Lakewood CA in person, after placing an online Thanksgiving dinner order 3 weeks ago, just to confirm they got my order and we were all good. They told me they had my order and we were good. Today they called me to tell me they do not have what I ordered but I could take a ham dinner instead. If I could give this location no stars I would. My husband was treated terribly this evening when he attempted to explain to the manager, VIRGINIA, a problem with the Roblox gift cards. She was terribly rude and disrespectful. She threatened to have the police called if he did not leave the store immediately. He was straightforward with her, pleasant, and clear in his explanation of the issue. She responded harshly by yelling and making a scene in front of customers. VIRGINIA is terribly unprofessional! Her reaction to my husband's complaint was unbecoming of a manager and extremely unprofessional. We will no longer shop at this location. The Cerritos location is cleaner and the service is far better. Sadly, this location needs its customers. It appears to be a minute away from closure. I believe this woman needs cultural awareness training. A meeting with the cultural counsel would serve her well. I will be writing a strongly worded letter to the corporate office detailing her harsh, rude and extreme behavior. We hope that no other store guest will have to undergo such disrsepect - specifically guests of color! read more

Ive always shopped at Ralph's, today was the first time I ordered something from this store because no other Ralph's near me had the item in stock. Even thought I lived 25 min I didn't mind driving there to pick up my order, pick up time was between 7-8 pm I left my house around 6:30 as I also notify the app I was on my way. After I arrived someone calls me to tell me they are out of stock, when I told them I wish they would of let me know before driving all the way here, all she did was laugh like if it was funny they had wasted my time. This review is mainly for the customer service stand in the front which ive never used prior to today.I typically shop here for groceries but today I needed to make a quick stop at the customer service section up front. First off, buying groceries here is a breeze, especially if I use the self check out, I'm done in less than 20 minutes from the time I walk in, shop and pay, pretty simple so I rarely need to use the main checkstand, that's why I can't rate that section. Today I walked in to use the customer service section, what a waste of time and I get it, people are busy but a simple acknowledgment to me would have been nice. It's not hard to do to greet a customer and tell them someone will be with you shortly. That's right, 5 people were working and saw me, not one asked if I needed anything or motioned to me, I would have been happy with a simple hello as I was not in a rush. I'm pretty patient and have seen a few of the clerks here and I know they recognized me. After waiting for nearly ten minutes I decided enough was enough. You guys are rude, no etiquette or any type of people skills. I needed a simple transaction, a few minutes of your time and I would have gone on my merry little way. I approached her because a juice box that I was going to purchase was leaking and she yelled at me and told me to set it down on some counter away from her. She went on to ask me why I was walking around with a leaking box, giving so much attitude, that she left me in shock! So I I'm handing her $2 for 2bags more than what they go for & shes still wining!! Of course I'm already pissed so now I'm paying cash for my things & because I counted my cash fast & thought I gave the rite amount she comes after me for like $2!!!!! I work nights and came into the store about 10:30 several nights ago. They were doing a reset, fine and dandy, except I couldn't get a few things I really needed, like cat food. Every aisle torn apart, carts of merchandise shrink wrapped, people wanting you OUT OF THEIR WAY. I got a few items and told the cashier, whom I didn't recognize that I didn't need a bag, but she bagged my items when I was paying and then I realized she had charged me for it. Ralph's either should have closed or done the reset overnight or on several overnights. Completely ridiculous and unnecessary. Oh, and the digital coupons are a drag...I don't want Ralph's app or any retailers app on my phone. No discount is worth giving that kind of access and/or potential for hacking. read more

This location seems much smaller than other Ralphs and supermarkets in the area. Especially the parking lot. I feel like I lucked out in going when there wasn't a lot of people shopping as I could see that lot being a nightmare (especially since they were setting up a Christmas tree lot at the time of my visit). The store inside also was a bit confusing. I found myself pacing back and forth like a caged animal trying to find basic food items. The location is small but has a decent selection of items, things are usually in stock most of the time. I use the self check out because it's faster, and depending on who's working you're either going to have a good or bad experience. If Deimi is working, expect to be ignored and gas lighted if any technical difficulties happen. She will do something in the system or refuse to match the price displayed on signage and make it seem like it's the customer's fault. Super unprofessional and seems a bit prejudiced towards certain types of people. The other woman with long blonde hair that works the self check out is super sweet and always acknowledges your presence and makes sure you have a good experience. I'd give the location a higher rating if Deimi didn't work self check, out as every experience I've had with her has been negative, no matter how kind and cordial I am. read more

As someone who has worked at Ralph's for 3 years, I've got to say, this is the worst customer service I've ever seen at a Ralph's location. And I'm strictly talking about the front end staff. Unwilling to help, acting as if I was invisible. I stood at the front desk for 15 minutes. Prior to that I asked a cashier for a roll of quarters. She told me she didn't have any at her register and that was it. I went from 3 people telling me, they didn't have quarters, to finally a 4th person telling me they don't give them out due to a coin shortage. Until I ran into a person I used to work with at Ralph's marina pacifica who finally said he would get me the coins. The 3 people had horrible customer service and had me waiting over 30 minutes. I'm not gonna include any names but it was absolutely terrible. Store director and front end managers need to get in the cashiers. Absolutely horrible read more
