This is way over due. Every time I remember to comment or do a review life happens.......and I forget. I've been living in this neighborhood for well over 30 years. In that time I have narrowed down where I like to shop (convenient or not). This location at 10900 Magnolia Blvd. is one of TWO Ralph's I go to. I know this may seem old fashioned but in this "fast food" age where most people do not feel required to be courteous, its very refreshing to have hands on help for any questions I may have when choosing or selecting items to purchase. That brings me to a way over due compliment. On many occasions one of your stock clerks named Heather has really addressed my questions without hesitation. I find it pretty incredible that she can help me, some customer guy, without breaking concentration. Wanna know the important part? I leave your store satisfied and pleased. Ive recently undergone some trauma and life changing experiences and sometimes I need to take a step back when someone addresses me wrongly. I'm pleased to tell you that you not only have a loyal worker in your store but I probably wouldn't shop there if this woman wasn't working there. She cares about the average "customer guy", and she shows it through making shoppers feel accommodated BEFORE they leave and spend money. As long as this friendly spirit works here I will continue to spend money and recommend others (yeah, customers talk). She's as fulfilled everything I expect from a business I give money to. And, not only answers EVERY question I have when we run into each other BUT has made some amazing recommendations when I couldn't decide on something. i went into ralphs market to buy my groceries. took my time to compare prices on my items to save as much as i can because of this inflammation high prices everywhere were all struggling to put food on the table for our families. i went up to the cashier put all my groceries and the cashier proceeded to give me my total. then i was told i didn't have enough on my card. i said ok. well i'm sorry but i'm gonna have to leave my groceries. before i could even say another word. the cashier looked over annoyed and told the mgr maria that all my groceries were go backs! and had to go back!! maria than looked at me and said what she came to the market to buy all that food and has no money!! oh wow!! i can't believe that!!! and walked away past me!! there was people in the market and behind me in line!! i told the cashier maria was out of line very very rude and how dare she speak about a customer like that!! the cashier ignored me didn't look at me and was ringing up the next customer!! i was gonna tell the cashier before that i was bringing another card...but they were both so rude!! i came home disgusted by this !! where is the customer service to myself and the kindness to know this happens and i wasn't given any respect to pay for all my food to get another way to pay for my food. or maybe i didn't have enough but this gives ralphs no right to treat me this way. i have seen the way this ralphs treats customers and maria this mgr. needs to be fired!! she is a rude very rude mgr..shes just doesn't belong working to bring her rude treating prople this way or the cashier read more

best ralphs you can go to. rock on, ralphs if i can't make it to the butcher i know this place will cut me a juicy slab of prime that my wife can marinate and grill the #$%! out of! parking sucks but parking sucks everywhere not gonna hold that against ya, ralphs. wish they'd have more cashiers open late night sometimes when i wanna pick up some apple juice after hours i gotta stand in a long ass line because only one person is working the counter. this is a problem everywhere though. statewide. citizens should revolt! read more

Update : recently contacted about complaints about this review that it might be embellished or elaborated ---it is not and I am not making assumptions of the business as a whole as I said I typically like this location and have had no issue but this incident was the most disgusting situation and it really occurred - we saw a man outside peeing by the wall near the apartments on the other side of ralphs as we were walking in it was clear the man worked at ralphs we then saw him again coming in from outside heading to bag out groceries -- I guess the assumption was that he didn't wash his hands ---I could be wrong maybe he did but really the employee was just peeping outside ! Previously written review / summary without the extra explanations and descriptors : I really actually like the store BUT tell me why tonight we go to park and someone is on the side peeing by the trees and wall ....then he moves to leaning on the tree to pee. We thought he was some wasted guy but as we see him walk away into the light I say we see that he clearly works at Ralphs as he has a red shirt and ralphs name tag on. Sure enough when we go to pay I almost lost my mind .... We go to pay at the same man comes heading back in from outside coming to bag our groceries!?! I agree with most of the other reviewers here, this Ralph's needs a complete remodel and a new layout. This Ralph's sucks. Unfortunately, it is the closest to my place so I do come here often. There are always hordes of people soliciting outside of this place and in the parking lot. People for charities, independent panhandlers, assorted men who just stand around by the entrance.You will also encounter clean looking women with children (that look old enough to walk, 4-5 years old sometimes) stuffed into a baby stroller, begging supposedly for food for the kids. These women work the parking lot. Be careful/aware of who's around. Lock your doors and don't roll down your windows until you drive away because these ladies are very aggressive and will walk right in between the parked cars and knock on your windows. I don't know about you, but I like my personal space and I don't like people squeezing in between cars next to me where no one can see, it's a good way to get stabbed or shot. Yesterday about 6pm I was unlucky enough to encounter a male panhandler who stood uncomfortably close to me as I returned my cart, and stood there staring as I walked away (trying to intimidate me because I politely told him I did not have any money on me after he asked for change). I get into my car, and within seconds a woman is tapping on my window pointing to her mouth and down to her child. If you happen to stop here on a late night run, you are fairly likely to see an ambulance or police car outside (One time it was because one of the young checkers had been punched in the face by a customer, lovely.) Great ambiance, Ralph's corporate office. Ironically, there is a recycling center outside with lots of homeless people but the homeless people never seem to be the ones asking people for money. I see them do their business and then leave. I guess they are actually recycling for their money, not just standing outside expecting people to give it to them unlike the fairly clean and well dressed people who seem to be doing this outside of this Ralph's. It is extremely aggravating is that a lot of the products in the meat department are not clearly priced. Nobody wants to take something up to the check stand if they don't know how much it is, make sure everything has a sticker or is clearly marked in some way. The produce is always low, especially the organic section. How hard is it to keep it stocked in the early afternoon? I've been here at 3 or 4 pm on a weekday and they seem to be out of everything or only the rejects are left. They also keep moving the scale away from the organic area, I guess they don't want you to figure out how many pounds you are buying before you get to the check stand. The employees/management are generally full of attitude here, with a few exceptions. Some of the baggers and checkers are actually friendly and I'm always surprised. I've worked in retail, I know it's hard but you have to do the basics. Greet, smile, please and thank you. Fake it till you make it, it's very easy if the customer is being pleasant and not difficult. I love dogs, I have a small dog who does NOT come shopping with me. I can't say that I've ever seen anyone with dogs inside the store either, but I do see a lot of dogs tied up outside. This is not responsible dog ownership. Take your poor dog home first, then come shopping!! I guarantee you that your dog is not going to have fun waiting outside in the heat ,being tormented by strangers, or sitting inside the car..so please don't bring your dog, I never do. The whole store is dark, old fashioned and there is a lot of wasted space. Keep in mind, Ralph's is not cheap. The prices aren't low, so why can't they put some money into staff/management trainings, security, and remodeling? read more

I could not even sleep last night after finding a hairy brown spider At the bottom of my grapes. I'm so disgusted that I can't get rid of this puking feeling in the back of my throat. I went to show the manager and he open the bag and claimed he couldn't even see it. I bet!! Tried to refund me my few dollars I spent on them. Bathrooms are discusting every single time I have to go there, which is onoy if necessary. Today the mens room had human feces smeared all over the toilet seat, there wasn't any seat covers, and barely any toilet tissue. There was trask all over the floor. Every time I come here I'm always inundated with people trying to sell me crap in the parking lot or trying to get me to fill out surveys or petitions or asking me for money. And they do it right in the open near the front doors and Ralph's management does nothing about it. They really need to address this situation. Also on a few occasions they've crushed my food when bagging. One cashier was very rude and I told her she was crushing my food and she didn't say anything and continued to throw my items in the bag. I felt like slapping her. When I got to my car I had to rebag all my grocery's properly. On a positive side, the bakery staff are friendly and helpful. And the sushi is really good. This Ralph's is usually a hit or miss with their produce dept. I've complained in the past but guess that the store director and manager don't care that their produce is rotten 50% of the time. So here's my advise if you don't have time to drive to another Ralph's for an item like garlic. When you see those garlic bunches just start peeling them apart to make sure than it isn't rotten. Last night I didn't and when I came home to prep my dinner I found all the garlic cloves rotten...it's hard to tell from the outside. read more

Occasionally I go here, preferably during the daytime. I guess I was pampered by the Culver City Ralphs many moons ago, because this place is sketchy. But I don't come here to mingle, I want to buy groceries. Unfortunately their produce is rotten; eggplants, squash, tomatoes, you name it are all bruised up or dimpled because it's been sitting out too long. I stay away from their fish stand. If it wasn't for the fact that this Ralphs is the closest one to me, I wouldn't go there. Sure, it's a typical grocery store, with typical groceries, but good luck trying to find someone to help you. The checkout lines are always extensively long. Even the self-check out line runs halfway back the chip isle. The idea of "Getting in and getting out" is impossible here at anytime of day. And there is always at least one person outside begging for change or asking for a chartable donation. read more

Oh, Ralph's. Like the others that have posted on here, it's the convenience that keeps me coming back. All too often you run out of what I'm looking for....for weeks! How does a grocery store run out of oatmeal!? My main gripe is the multitude of homeless people. Times are tough everywhere, I get that but doesn't the fella with the backpack have enough money yet to "go home to Bakersfield"? Seriously. If its not that, it's the oddballs that frequent the place late at night. I stopped on my way home from work around midnight yesterday and was greeted by a strange looking character who kept singing the opening of "Rockin Robin" over and over again. I drive the extra few miles to Burbank when I can; this place has seen its day and I don't see it getting any better. Egad. read more
