I had a frustrating experience at this Ralphs location today. I was using self-checkout and searched broccoli crowns that was clearly labeled "broccoli crowns" for $1.49. When I selected that option, it rang up as $2.49 instead. I called over the attendant to fix it, since you obviously need an employee to delete or correct an item. I explained the situation, and he looked at me like I was asking him to do something outrageous. He even looked at my friend to say, "Is she really asking me?" It was honestly uncomfortable and unnecessary. Who else would I ask.. All I needed was help correcting a pricing error. It was Sunday around 3 PM and the store wasn't even busy, so I don't understand the rude attitude. If you're assigned to self-checkout, assisting customers with issues is literally part of the job. Customer service makes a difference, even during small interactions. This one just left a bad impression. read more

This store has greatly improved. This place was so bad for a moment when I started coming here again almost 3 years ago now. But what has changed is the rude staff are all gone (in my experience), everyone who is there now is friendly or at least neutral to me. Better than rude or awful. The speed at which checkout moves is fast or at least acceptable now. It used to be extremely slow, but it's greatly improved. You also used to close the self check out relatively early which now I notice you do NOT, which I am VERY appreciative of. Frankly I just can do it much faster than anyone and I prefer it to get in and out quickly, so thank you for keeping it in place and open later than you used to, that keeps the human cashier lines manageable. I'll buy wine so that's why I may need the human to help me out. But nothing more annoying to me than it being 10pm and there's 1 mile long line with full carts and all I need is 2-3 things, well that experience pretty much doesn't happen anymore which is very much appreciated. I find your evening staff to be notably most friendly, they're talkative but not obnoxious or slow and I feel comfortable coming through the line if I have to. There's a couple annoying things, like a few annoyingly narrow spots you have in extremely busy areas, I can't figure out why you have so much stuff directly in front of the cereal + chips aisle. People cannot pass through there easily, every single time I come here I bump into someone, like easily a 99% success rate that I'm going to crash into someone. That's not good. Same goes for too much stuff down the middle of the cheese/deli meat section near the bank, makes passing nearly impossible at times, then again near the self checkout you always have a lot of liquor which makes passing difficult. Customers don't like having to pretend it's a stop sign intersection to pass by, we just want to shop not have an island of liquor impeding progress. Another thing that bugs me is this is the only Ralph's that doesn't put clearance tags on the frozen food section stuff. Why? I've gotten mixed answers. One guy told me it's because the tags don't stay on because the packaging is wet from the freezer, well that's BS because other Ralph's stores do it just fine and the stickers aren't coming off. But another time I saw a guy at the self checkout take something from a woman who said she didn't want it anymore, so he went directly to the clearance door and just chucked it in there. So basically he didn't have time or care to find the true location (fair, he's working self checkout not restock) and so it ends up in the clearance spot, when it's not actually priced as so. Which makes people just buy it because they think it so on sale when it's not! A third time, I asked how to even know what the clearance price is? The guy told me "you find out it at the register". Well I want to know now, not when you ambush me into it and then we find out it's not on discount and you just throw it back into the discount section to repeat the cycle. Isn't that insane? Ultimately though the 2 gripes aren't going to keep me out of here anytime soon, I just thought it may be worth explaining. read more

This is a great Ralph's. The staff is friendly and helpful and the store is always clean. The deli has good sandwiches and salads and everything is always fresh. Never had any issues at this location. I highly recommend this location to anyone who wants great customer service. read more

Clean store, fairly easy parking, but fewer long time recognizable long time employees more self service lanes. The lanes are clogged with displays making shopping tedious, add to that the now usual one way drugs and detergent(?) lane-makes one feel like a criminal. I stopped in today before 5pm to pickup a few items. I didn't go to the self-checkout because I was purchasing two gift cards. The store wasn't busy and I got into a regular checkout line with 2 women ahead of me, one almost done and another waiting with just a couple of items. "Maria", a 'Service Leader', was our checker and she was so incredibly slow the line didn't move for almost 10 minutes! She was on her personal phone, chit-chatting in Spanish with the ladies, and even wandered off several times. My impression was that she was very lazy and just didn't care about the customer's time at all. I told her this was the longest short line I had ever been in and she just laughed. I have been going to Ralphs for decades, and this was just TERRIBLE service. Please train your employees to be less self-centered and more customer oriented. read more

I was running an errand for mother. Searching the product this morning I noticed a sign. Apparently I go to Ralph's every week but I never so to this section. laundry detergent, vitamins etc. So apparently they now lock up this section. I am looking for a detergent that is on sale. I asked an employee where the item item. The employee said "She will help you". The employee approach and I said Is your name "she" or Gloria which was her name tag. She was not assumed. I asked her the same question and she didn't help me. She pointed at the detergent section. So I got the ladder and climbed the steps to check the top shelf. She never told me you can't do that or I can help you. Nothing. I eventually found the detergent on sale. She found a double charge and she dealt with it. Yesterday I was checking my receipt for a price and saw I was charged for three cottage cheeses when I bought two. So you need to check your receipt. The food selection is great. The service from Sheryl and Herbert is excellent like no other. The ambiance is pleasant and inviting. Whenever I have a question they will always answer and take good care of you . I do not recommend the self check out for gift cards I had and experience February 16 2024 and they lost 501.00 and never resolved it I was getting medication for my mom and who is 92 and I gave a donation to Ralph's and Kroger. Gotta give my review another update to 5 stars as this Ralph's is by far my favorite to shop at. Came here with my wife to get some deli cuts for sandwiches that we were gonna make we came last minute before closing and Matt the deli worker behind the counter went above and beyond and was very professional with helping us with our selections. He even offered us great recommendations to try next time we come around. This store needs more workers like Matt to make a difference for everyone. I'm not sure if this is a CA thing or not but it was stressful to get a cart since we couldn't enter the entrance area again until we left. Staff weren't super friendly. Well since my last review this place has gone downhill quite a bit. Don't go during peak times for two reasons, 1) they have so much crap everywhere, in aisles, at the end of aisles, in the middle of walkways, to the side of walkways. It's like your crazy aunts house with a hoarding problem, theres just useless crap everywhere for no reason. Want wine, go to the wine aisle, but theres also a giant palette of wines in the cheese aisle that takes up so much room you can only get one cart through at a time, its a cart traffic nightmare everywhere you go in this store. Which brings me to point 2) you know what else makes it hard to drive carts down aisles, when there are 30 people in line for every register because there are only 2 of the 5 being used during peak hours. Why have 5 registers if you're not going to use them, why have two banks of self checkout registers if half of them are closed. They are massively understaffed and don't seem to care or try to do anything about it. Case and point, just like the cart traffic nightmare inside, outside in the parking lot, is just as bad, nobody retrieves the carts from the cart collections and they sit out into the parking lot by 10-15 ft. Im going to Pavilions from now on, where non of these issues exist. read more

Wow, the service is terrible. I waited 20 mins to get some brocoli salad from deli because no one was there and they were eating in the back. I finally got it then went to self check out BY ACCIDENT and the lady working there yelled "You can't have alcohol here" with a mask on. Told her to calm down and stop yelling and she keep going on about how that is her way of talking. Then continues to talk to coworkers while they all are looking at me very VERY uncomfortable and rude! FINALLY, I went to the cashier who seemed like the only normal person there. I told her the issues I had at deli and self check out and she encouraged me to talk to a manager. I finally agreed, she called out the the assistant manager who was at the clock out machine to listen to my concern and he yelled at the cashier " I already clocked out!" I was in shock and looked at the cashier which I felt terrible for and said... "See what I mean?" The cashier got red and keep apologizing to me and asking me if I want another manager to talk to! I said no thanks, and told her to try to stay sane in all that chaos! I will only mention my cashier by name here which was Yvonne because the point of this review is to let Ralphs corporations know how they are treating there customers. It's a circus at this Ralphs! I'll keep the basics brief: decent selection overall and generally friendly employees. My primary critique is the sheer amount of displays in the store. They are everywhere! Beer displays, chips displays; they fill every available aisle and walkway. It has become very difficult to navigate the store. I'm sure that Ralph's is making a lot of money with these vendors paying them for key spots in the store, but it's become ridiculous for the customers; the people who ultimately keep Ralphs/Kroger in business. The ordering service for this Ralph's is a joke and a bad one at that. I placed an online order and everything was confirmed.I paid for my order and the money was removed from my account. 20 minutes I get a text message saying the cancelled my order due to them being short staff. Yet they still took my money and deleted me. I've been ordering online with them for years and never had this happened before. Then to top it off the person sending the text was rude. Mind you I placed the order over 2 1/2 hours in advance. The service deserves zero star if I could. read more

I have been going to this location for years, mainly because they are one of the only locations in the area that carry Collard greens for my Sundal Dinners. Today I was having an issue at the Self Checkout because I wanted to split my payment but didn't quite know how to do it. The self checkout cashier comes up to me and asks "Do you need help with your EBT?" I kid you not, I could have choked him unconscious for making that racist *ss assumtption. It's 2024 and ppl are still so dimwitted to believe that a Black person HAS to be on government assistance to buy food as if it's impossible for us to acquire employment, education, and housing on our own. PARKING (FREE) They shared a large-sized overground exposed parking lot with a CVS Pharmacy. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of street parking along the two main thoroughfares of Buena Vista St. and Victory Blvd. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large store with aisles upon aisles of food, the layout was similar to most grocery stores with the produce section directly on your right when you entered, the many refrigerated sections along the right and back of the store, and then the deli far off to the left (an exceptional area!). The wine and beer section was just off the deli area. Plenty of promotional signs and visuals stimulated your senses as you walked throughout this box of goodies. Good natural lighting came through the large windows and doors while bright soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs, but music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Burbank's Victory Blvd. Ralphs location was quickly becoming one of my favorite locations (a US Bank branch, too). They had everything I needed, was usually stocked well, often not a long wait, a self-checkout area, the prices always seemed cheaper than other major grocery stores, and the staff seemed perfectly fine. Plus, if you joined their free membership, you earned points towards future discounts and dollars off. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experiences were around $108.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Says they take WIC, has the little symbols on the price tags but NO they don't take WIC. They very arbitrarily decide when to accept WIC and when NOT to. It's so crazy how WIC and the grocery stores purposely try to be as difficult as possible to where you just can't even use it? According to WIC I can purchase all these products. I meticulously looked for the little WIC symbol on each price tag, made sure it was the correct portion of ounces I'm allowed to have, and WIC is not going to pay for it when it clearly says it's on my list and I haven't gotten it yet. The cashier was a nice kid that TRIED to help me but when he talked to his manager, the manager said, "just tell her the products she's trying to get are NOT on her WIC list" but you can clearly see they ARE on my WIC list unused. WIC and the grocery stores have been so difficult since day 1. They say I can get fruits and vegetables. Then I try to purchase a tomato, not organic, just a regular tomato and WIC will NOT cover it. It took forever, months and months to figure out what milk they'll let me buy. Just so many problems. It's like they're trying to frustrate moms into NOT being able to use their WIC benefits? So ok then, WHY offer them? Why do stores lie and say they take WIC if they are randomly deciding not to accept WIC whenever they feel like it? Just save yourself the hassle and don't offer it if you don't want moms to use it? I would also like to add, I'm sick. I shouldn't be walking around but I wanted to use the last of my WIC benefits so I walked a mile to the store and back, sick as dog, only to NOT be able to use the benefits either way. However, Im looking to find a new place to shop because this place is run by a manager and a company that cares more about littering the aisles with pop outs than the mountain of customers who have asked for it to stop. It's stressful to navigate around the countless hardboard displays of junk. Just look at these reviews. I love this Ralphs location. I used to come here a lot when I lived in North Hollywood. I stopped here today to grab some food for a Easter party some old friends of mine are throwing. Despite all the rain, it was a crowd mess here. They are always moving the items around at this location. Its a huge Ralphs with a big parking lot in a small strip mall. They have Starbucks inside next to the deli areas. I love the fresh foods and chicken here. Produce area is the best and well kept. Nothing really to complain about this location. Customer Service is great here. I miss coming here every week back in the day. read more

Today I went into the Ralph's that I've been going to for 30 years. They have allowed people to solicit and market INSIDE THE STORE!! I was near the gourmet cheese area and I was approached by two guys trying to get people to sign up for internet service. And they were approaching other people as well. I come to shop in peace, not to be solicited for services INSIDE THE MARKET. I let the store manager know that I WAS NOT HAPPY with this! And it's not acceptable.
