First off I came in to get my groceries with my wic checks and I feel like the same lady which her name is Dawn at the cashier is so rude every time I come and check my groceries out with her. I asked her a simple question on why I can't get a certain product which had the wic stamp in front of it and she said I don't know. So I asked her nicely can u please scan the item to see if it goes through and she said "NO STOP WASTING MY TIME, I CANT DEAL WITH YOU." Then she left to go talk to her other co workers behind my back saying rude things while I had my kids and I was standing there waiting to be help and finally the manager came by which she was really nice so I told her I was going to leave because her employee was so rude I couldn't deal being there. This is the closest grocery store to my house, but that isn't the only reason why I go here. Like everyone else, all you need from a grocery store is the store being stocked, cleaned, and short checkout lines. This store exceeds in all three and goes above and beyond. The staff always greets me right when I walk in, and the cashier is usually friendly and personable when I check out. A big plus to this Ralph's is that they have a Boar's Head section with specialty sandwiches and meats. Can't really go wrong with visiting this Ralph's. read more

Their employees are extremely helpful, whenever I have a question concern or problem marco seems to be available to help. I don't even know what to say. Terrible service. I tried to order a very simple drink from the Starbucks in Ralphs but the man working there was so rude. Their hours said they closed at 9pm. I got there at 8:50 and he refused to take my order. He didn't even make an effort to acknowledge my presence. This just makes me not want to even shop at Ralph's. I went to buy a cake at the messy bakery. I wanted a sweet lady Jane cake and all the signs were incorrect. Carrot cake sign/ingredients was with the coconut cake, the lemon/raspberry cake sign was with the traditional chocolate cake, etc. When I asked the baker if the signs were accurate, she annoyingly responded "of course". I pointed at the coconut cake and asked if that was truly a carrot cake, her embarrassing response: "oh, no but it's obvious". She eventually realized all the signs were incorrect, but didn't care to correct them after I left. My kid is allergic to certain ingredients and I just wanted to make sure I was buying the right cake. Not going back there anymore. read more

Great Store, I've been shopping here since 2004 when I moved from Chatsworth to Porter Ranch. Of course the Porter Ranch location is 20 times better than the Chatsworth "ghetto" store as I call it in comparison, well you can't really compare the two. 5 STARS IF THEY WERE OPEN LATER.../2AM or 24 HOURS like they used to be! The staff have always been amazing and I always felt very "at home" there until recently...there seems to be some new faces there & well I left the area for a year and a half and since I've been back (2012) the staff isn't as friendly or efficient Fortunately Sonny is still there so it's ok. The store is great and includes a coffee shop, large salad bar, cheese section and large fresh baked goods section all by the deli area. As with ANY grocery store their make-up is OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE compared to Walmart...prices more than double compared. Example: foundation I use at Walmart is $7.95. Ralph's price? A whopping $19.95 for the same exact item! Just don't shop for make-up or beauty items and you will be fine. I have a BIG ISSUE with the hours now too. They used to be open 24 hours and now they close @ 1am!!! Now 7-eleven gets all the nightly business and are probably making a killing off those ridiculously high prices they charge. --- hours & beauty section prices. read more

For years now I have had varied bad experiences at this location (Porter Ranch/Northridge) ALL customer service (Lack Of) based. As a Customer I have encountered personal conversations among cashier employees as customers wait, Trying to get the attention of employees who are engaged in personal conversations..ignoring the customer, Stock crew unsafely blocking aisles and rude to customers as not to move out of the way, and Group meetings (8 or more people at the attention of one speaker) held in front of store entrances/Exits or blocking aisle ends during business hours. Corporate calls regarding the matter have gone to deaf ears. Is this a training site? This location needs to be more appropriate in so many ways if it is...It surely does not represent what customer service SHOULD BE! This morning, was no different albeit an obstacle course presented itself for added enjoyment (sarcasm) (safety code violations!). It appeared as though the night crew was still on duty during standard business operating hours for customers, as we came across two hand trucks 'in the "middle" of two separate aisles'...no personnel around. A step ladder at the end and in the middle of one aisle, and the usual customer dis-service as I approached produce and the wall of bagged salads where a guy was blocking the entire wall with himself and a long rolling cart. I told him that I needed to access. He retorted 'happy new year' not even attempting to move out of the way. I just shook my head and walked away...typical for this location. He should have said, "I'm sorry let me move out of your way" and he could have gone back to his work after i made my selections. MOST OF THE EMPLOYEES I HAVE ENCOUNTERED AT THIS LOCATION ARE DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE, AND SELF-ABSORBED. These people cannot balance work and customer service which means they are NOT suited for this type of work in retail.The registers were all dark, but the number of items we had was too much for self check in this instance. I called out if a register was available. Someone said yes, and told a younger person to come to us. Why was the light 'out' on purpose not giving the option? Other customers got in line behind us...so there WAS a need and should always be the option to customers! This cannot continue! This cannot become the norm in a service environment industry. If it wasn't for the fact that this is the local store to this residence, I would not shop here. I have shopped other Ralph's locations that know how to treat the customers who provide the employees with a paycheck, resulting in a better relationship for all. read more

As usual Ralphs adjusted and improved. We started using their pick up service (COVID-19 encouraged this). At first, it was difficult to impossible to get any product, or even a pick up date or time., so we used Instacart. OK, but not cheap, and no Ralphs Rewards. Finally, got a Ralphs pick up time (not great, but OK) but the result was horrid -I think I left a review, but if not one or two stars only -one for looking for only half the order and being plain rude, two for what we did get. This time it was so much better as to be, well, four stars, and a thought of five. Polite, efficient, and complete (not that we got everything, but at least the shopper looked). Much improved. And, yes the person bringing the order to our car was masked. All good, and mush improved. read more

I enjoy going to this Ralphs. The people are friendly and the store is clean. My issue with this store is that they are always out of the 12 pack cans of regular Pierre water (isle 14). They only put out two or three packs at a time. The shelves are stock with other flavors that no one drinks. This is a simple fix. Put out more of the regular pierre waters (12 pack cans) on the shelve. It makes no sense for me to go to two places to shop. I shop at this Ralph's literally every single day. Whether it's to grab a quick meal, or to do my family's grocery shopping, I literally spend thousands of dollars a year here. $$$$ However, tonight, I was made to feel like a criminal. Let me explain. I paid for my groceries in the self checkout today, because the fewer lanes open these days always equals a longer line. (Actual humans). I have to be honest, many of the staff are friendly and kind to me always. But tonight, there was an Asian woman who I assume was the night manager, and after I paid and was on my way out the door, she said "sir" and literally stopped me because I was taking one of their hand held baskets to my car to unload my groceries. I don't know about you, but I am tired of paying for bags everyday and today I simply had forgotten to take one of my bags from home so I was going to unload my stuff in the car and place the basket in a cart like I have done before. The thing that startled me is that I felt like I was doing something illegal or something! I already paid, I had a receipt, I am a 42 year old man, not some type of criminal, and yet here I am getting stopped at the door and made to look like I did something wrong? I miss the days of real customer service. I miss the days where someone would treat you like a person and not just a robot. I will make it down the street to the Whole Foods (a new one by the way is coming) and to Trader Joe's more often now just because of this encounter. Nice work Ralph's. read more

Located in a large shopping center with a Starbucks, toys r us, walmart and other stores. Has plenty of parking. Is very clean and nice. Has a upper class porter ranch cliental. Fruits and vegetables are fresh. Meat department is good but a little pricey for me. Has a coffee bean and tea leaf located in the store which is nice. Has several self serve check out terminals. I really like these. After the last strike i think these are very important. It's important the over paid union people doing menial labor are replaced by machines or monkeys. So that grocery stores don't need to charge us so much for groceries or other products. The deli counter is nice and well stocked. They have a florist with a nice selection. Wow!! Worst customer service ever at the bakery counter. There's a lady that works there and I should have complained to her manager. I didn't because I was already under enough stress planning my daughters birthday. She was rude as heck from the moment I walked in on 10/7/19. She had no orders or other people waiting and I was just standing there waiting for her to take my cupcake order. Felt like she was ignoring me. I ordered cream cheese frosting for them. I called the day before (Thursday)to add to my order and another lady talked to me (SHE was nice!) and said they never told her to order cream cheese for my order (apparently it needs to be ordered ahead of time 3 days) I said okay fine so I changed the frosting type. Whatever. Day I was supposed to pick them up. The fires were going on around that time in Porter ranch so I guess they closed the bakery. Nobody bothered to call me so I called and the mean lady answered. I said are you guys closed because of the fires? She said, NO it's because of the smoke the fires are further away. Huh?? I came in here last night on my way home from knitting with a group of friends. Upon entering the store, my eyes grew from seeing such beautiful organization. To me, this store seems more upscale compared to other grocery stores. That is until I saw the flies. Yes, flies in the bakery section. While I adore the fact that this location carries La Brea Bakery items, I was not happy to see the flies. Absolutely disgusting. I wanted to buy bread. Don't even go here! I used to go there all the time until recently this happened to me twice! The first time I went the yogurt I wanted to buy was 3months expired. When I told the cashier, she just shrugged it off. Okay recently I went again and this time the yogurt was expired AGAIN! So I complained to a different lady. It doesn't matter which department I go to, or if I'm just asking a stocker or cashier for help, they are always courteous and helpful. I was particularly impressed with the service provided in FLORAL by Christina. Love the Pharmacy staff - they are extraordinarily knowledgable & very on the ball - - you can drop off your prescription & do your shopping while they prepare it. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for my prescription to be ready. Love that there's a Coffee Bean in this store! And for the most part, they are well stocked with the things I normally buy. However, my only 2 complaints are that I don't love love love their meat & deli sections (I go to Whole Foods for those,) and also, quite often items get left out of my bag, so that is a bummer - especially when it's an item I'm using for a dinner that I'm in the middle of cooking and don't realize it until then :( But it's clean & convenient & the prices are reasonable. read more

Their deli offers stone fired pizzas at $10.99. Awesome deal. I thought I'd get a couple for my family's dinner. I grabbed my ticket, waited in line to be called. I put in my order and they said, it'll take 30 min for each pizza. I was okay with that. Then the person excused herself to see if they can do it. She went back and talked to someone for a few seconds, came back and actually said verbatim. "I'm sorry but we're too busy to cook those pizzas." and excused herself. What kind of freakin customer service is this. They offered a product and flat out said they don't want to do it. It's a deli and I was willing to wait the long wait time they explained for my order. This review ia for the pharmacy technician named Lisa. She has the world's worst attitudes and is extremely rude. I called the pharmacy to request few refills of my medications where Ralphs was to call the prescriber for refills. While speaking with Lisa, she had the most rude sense about her and every time i said one word, she sighed like she didn't want to be bothered. All my requests were within the pharmacy pactice guideines and not out of the world requests. While speaking with Lisa, she complained that She IS TOO BUSY to call my prescriber and she HUNG UP THE CALL!! I was courteous and respectful during the call and her actions just coud not be tolerated so I've let the managements know of this incident as this type of behavior towards patients are just unacceptable. Clearly Lisa, you are not fit to be in this service industry because compassion is what you need in order to work with these sick patients at the pharmacy. read more

Me and my brother have been harassed by the staff here so many times. We bring in our service animals who happen to help us deal with day to day problems. Every time we come we have proof they are service animals and they still yell at us... they tell us to leave. Or tell us to carry or dogs around the store. I love this particular Ralphs Market because the salad bar is great and there's a mini seating area courtesy of Coffee Bean. The Ralphs Market in my area is small and seems somewhat dirty and there doesn't seem to be a wide range of products being sold.
