Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 This supermarket is one of my favorites to pick up same sashimi and marinated Korean bbq meat. Parking is always convenient and groceries are fresh. Employees are also friendly and helpful.
Disappointing Experience at the Meat Department I've been thinking about my experience shopping at Greenland today, and I felt it was important to leave a review in the hope that management or the owner sees it and takes the opportunity to address the issue. My family and I shop at Greenland regularly and typically spend $100-$200 each visit on groceries. We are loyal customers and have continued to support the store because we appreciate having it in our community. That's why today's experience was particularly disappointing. I purchased approximately four pounds of marinated short ribs and politely asked if I could get pieces with less bone and a little more meat. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my request was respected. There may have been a language barrier or simply a misunderstanding, but the employee also appeared visibly bothered by the request. What was most frustrating was what happened afterward. As you can see from the photos and video, the majority of the pieces I received contained very large portions of bone. I also noticed that the employee was selecting pieces from a separate tray rather than the pieces displayed in the cooler. What really left a bad impression was watching that same employee help another customer who appeared to be a regular. That customer seemed to receive much nicer, meatier pieces selected directly from the display case. Whether intentional or not, watching that happen made me feel as though I was being treated differently simply because I wasn't a regular customer at the meat counter. That is not a good feeling, especially when you are spending your hard-earned money at a business you regularly support. Unfortunately, this also isn't the first time I've felt that the customer service at the meat counter has been less than welcoming. Too often, the attitude comes across as though customers are bothering the employees by asking questions or making reasonable requests. I want to be clear that I'm not expecting special treatment. I'm simply expecting the same level of courtesy and service that any paying customer should receive. I hope this review reaches the owner or management. Your customers are the reason the doors stay open, and customer service should reflect that. If an employee is having a difficult day, that's understandable, but customers shouldn't have to feel like they are inconveniencing someone just by asking for assistance. I genuinely hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue with the meat department. I like shopping at Greenland and would prefer to continue supporting the store, but experiences like this can make customers think twice about where they spend their money. I'm leaving this review in the hope that it leads to better customer service and a better experience for everyone who shops there.
It's not my usual grocery store but whenever I'm in the mood for ramen and need to load up on my Asian supplies. This place hits the spot. They have the full grocery stores with all your fruit and veggies needs. And of course the selection of Asian vegetables is great. Some of your main chain store carries some things but nothing compared to this place. Then you have the isles of all the condiments and sauces. An Asian food lover. Sauces, oils, drinks, spices and whatever else your cooking ingredients need. The deli section has loads of precut meats, package meat and seafood. They also have a massive selection on kimchi. It should be a given as it's a Korean market. The warm deli section has all the premade side dishes. All packaged ready for your next meals. Service has always been great. Pricewise, it's good. Loads of items to choose from.
My family had a really upsetting experience here. They were standing in line to pay when the woman who was giving out dumpling samples suddenly rushed over and started going through the items in their cart without permission. She was upset about a small sample paper cup that was sitting inside the cart and accused them of throwing it there. The strange part is that my family member was still holding their own sample cup in their hand and told her that. Instead of realizing it may have been left there by someone else, the woman aggressively snatched the cup from her hand, and continued escalating the situation. The conversation was happening in Korean, and she began insulting them, saying they didn't even speak Korean and couldn't understand what she was saying. We are Korean by the way. All of this over a tiny paper sample cup that wasn't even theirs. The cashier seemed confused and was apologetic, clearly unsure why this woman was acting this way. What was more disappointing was that when it was brought to the owner or manager's attention, the response was dismissive. My family member was asked to let it go, not the worker It's concerning that someone felt comfortable physically reaching into a customer's cart and grabbing something from their hand, and that it was brushed off instead of addressed. Unfortunately, this isn't our first negative experience here. On a previous visit, we bought multiple cabbage that turned out to be rotten inside. I called immediately, took photos, and asked if I could return it. I was told yes, but the person on the phone sounded irritated, like it was somehow my fault. There are other options, like Galleria, where the produce is consistently fresher and the management is noticeably more attentive and welcoming. Very disappointing overall.
I've been shopping at Greenland Market for years, but after this experience, I'll never go back. I bought a cooked mackerel fish from their seafood section -- one of the ones they cook earlier in the morning and keep out for sale. When I got home, I decided to reheat it in my air fryer, thank goodness I did. That's when I saw it! Parasites inside the fish!!! I had already eaten more than half before noticing, and I was so disgusted I made myself throw up. It's one thing to find a bone, but a parasite in a supposedly cooked fish is horrifying and completely unacceptable. It shows a total lack of inspection and food safety. I've been a loyal customer for years, but this crossed the line. I will never eat from their seafood section again, and I strongly urge others to check their food carefully before trusting it. This experience was absolutely sickening.
A Korean supermarket tucked away on the corner of Sherman way and white oak in a little plaza with other stuff like a Korean bbq place, karaoke and other businesses. There are a couple food places inside the market, acupuncture, a pharmacy and then your usual things you look for in a market. Nice spot and some hot food options too if you're hungry
Pricing here seems good! Lots of options for a korean grocery in SFV. See my tip! Only thing is it kind of looks dilapidated with the flooring, not even. The metal carts are old/rusty, tarnishing. I'd be careful with it lol. Kind of dim also....I want to try the kimbap varieties for next time. The grilled hot foods were good! The mini pork egg and fish patties are delicious, and the squid isn't bad either.
Good Korean market that has a good size produce and meat selection. Market is clean and organized. They have a section in the market that has the Korean side dishes (banchan) such as Kimchi, seaweed salad, korean pancake, rice cakes etc. there's a large parking lot which is always helpful.
I never expected how large the inside of the market would be! The number of products surprised me. The produce looked fresh and healthy, the kitchen and household products were a large variety, and the number of food ingredients you can get is great! I do note that the frozen fish/seafood area is small and limited; and no cleaning services are available for the fish. I like the cultural food choices displayed and want to come back here for easy local Korean products. There is also a pharmacy right next to the market, with a food court style of vendors selling fresh food. It reminds me of other Korean plazas I've been to. This market has a security guard outside as well because there are also more grocery or clothes items outside. The bathrooms are located in the front to the left (not inside the market itself). - friendly staff - clean interior with fully stocked items - large variety of products sold
Walked in here and thought WOW! This place is huge! Driving on Sherman Way and White Oak for years, I NEVER knew this place was here! You can't see it from that intersection at all. Only when you enter the parking lot off of White Oak can you see the entrance. The produce here is incredible. I feel like the produce looks happy almost? Very plump and fresh! It was all organized and on display beautifully as well. They also sell homewares, LOTS of sake (holy cow), premade meals, fresh fish, and interesting treats. I loved checking out the snack section to see all of the different flavored shrimp chips. Also, Kimchi overload! And I've never seen a bigger selection of mochi. Highly recommend checking out the Greenland Market if you are looking for a fun adventure that results in delicious snacks. I docked a star because I wanted to grab a sushi roll, but pickings were slim. Maybe I missed the lunch rush or they just don't have a lot of options for sushi rolls. But lots of other premade meals are available that would be great to grab and go. Huge parking lot available too!

From my new home Galleria market is only 2 minutes away. But I came out to Greenland market, which is at least 15 minutes away. I was happy to get the side dishes I wanted. But here comes the worst part. You know how those side dishes have tear away plastic to open it? As I was putting 2 of 12 side dishes onto the cashier's conveyor belt, the other side of tear away came open and it licked the soy sauce all over my hand. The correct response for cashier and the bag boy should be "let me get you the replacements and here's a napkin to wipe your hands." But their response was we don't have any napkin for you. You can wash your hands in the washroom after words. Excuse me? I'll have to open my bag & to open my wallet to get the credit card out with these hands that are stained with soy sauce. Then they said without any remorse, washroom is over there! How rude? No wonder my fellow Koreans in the neighborhood said don't go to Greenland market. I TOTALLY AGREE!! Stay away!!!!!!!! read more
Always check your receipts here. Super frustrating, but it's happened a few times where they charged a different price instead of the advertised sale price. I thought the price was off when I looked at the receipt today, and I saw they charged 9.99 instead of 7.99, as you can see here. When I brought it up to the older Korean man who bagged up my groceries, he looked it up, told me the 9.99 price was correct and tried to brush me off. I didn't appreciate the way he laughed while trying to brush me off, so I told him I would go check and took this picture. When I showed it to him, he went to go look for himself. He took a while to check and come back, so I got the cashier's attention and explained the situation and she confirmed that this man would be handling it. When he returned, he gave an excuse, then refused to give a refund back to my card, just giving me a pink piece of paper to do store credit. Wild. That was new. So, always check your receipts here and be aware of their odd store credit policy. read more

Month a go I bought Ramen it's has mold on the noodles . And I bought grape has lots of mold on the bottom sheet and grape . I can't believe it . Vege is C grade . u really have to pick and choose when u buy products in this market . FDA need to check this market . read more

It says Extra Large Eggs. Not all of it are Extra Large. I ask the manager for exchange or refund he said he cant do anything, i ask if can complain to the vendor he said NO. read more

I bought kimchi at 1:30 pm. Got home and it had a vile vinegary smell. I know...kimchi is fermented, however it is not supposed to taste like vinegar. It tasted like it was on the shelf a little too long. It was ready to be turned into "kimchi jjigae" ( what you do with old kimchi). I took it back with the receipt the same afternoon and was sent to two different checkouts only to be told nothing could be done since the "manager" was not in. I only wanted to exchange it for another jar. I was not even allowed to properly explain the situation before I was hushed and rushed out. Your business is not appreciated take it elsewhere is what was communicated. Perhaps I may have been treated differently if I was Korean? read more

2022.02-19/SAT: Love this Korean Market! We love to drive out here and get our groceries! Everything we need is always here. We love the variety of fresh produce that's available. The prices are reasonable depending on what you're looking for. The variety of noodles, frozen, refrigerated or dry are insane. We also love to buy our kimchi from here, too. Always fresh and delicous! The staff is always wonderful to talk to and very helpful when you're looking for something in particular. If you're doing Korean BBQ, you have to come here to get their fresh prepared banchans! They have it all! Seasoned water spinach, seasoned fish cakes, Korean potato salad, kimchi radish, pickled radish, and even soups! I can't name them all but they have a little bit of everything! You'll be in heaven! They also have hot prepared foods, too! There's so much in that market that I honestly can't list everything! Snacks, tofu, boba, teas, condiments and even household goods, too. Sometimes on the weekends, they'll have samples of featured items like pot stickers, teas or sausages! On the way out, there's a couple of restaurants inside. Today, we noticed the bakery was gone and Bene Chicken was in its spot. Bene Chicken is a premium Korean fried chicken spot that also sells meat and cheese on a stick similiar to corndogs. WTH. That was my first time trying it. I just recently saw a video on that street food and it was DELICIOUS. The mozzarella is super stringy and whatever they coat it with the Panko bread crumbs is fantastic! Holy moly, we will be back for them, too! read more

i really enjoy coming to this korean market that is located in the valley. i mostly come here when i am craving a korean dessert or my favorite, their cucumber kimchi. the cucumber kimchi that they sell is soo good! it is a great snack to eat..soo yummy! i bought their swiss roll cake in the strawberry flavor and wow! it is soo good! the cake is really moist and soft with yummy layers. it is not a dry cake or overly sweet which i like. hi-chews are one of my favorite candies and they had lots of varieties with many different flavors. thaankyoouu to the sweet lady at the cashier for giving me two free goodiess! the gummies were really good. tasted like actual fruit. - parking is really nice and convenient, a really big space. read more
Not the cleanest and neatest looking market, but convenient and close for many. Emphasis on Korean food and products, but you can also find Japanese and Chinese things. Of course, some American items are also available. There's pre-made food that doesn't keep too long, so I don't recommend buying after 5pm. They leave most of it out, not refrigerated. I've tried their pre-made sushi rolls and they were not good quality - I ended up throwing most of it away. I do like the japchae noodles, though. There are small shops in the market like at Galleria, but they're not usually open or pertain to my personal needs so I'm not sure what is offered. There are plenty of shops, offices and other businesses nearby. read more

They advertised weekly flyer as "HONEY CRISPY APPLE". But when I came home and checked out the apple label and it said, "Sweetie Crispy." They advertise and selling some thing else. Beware, check what you're buying from this market.Dont trust the label on the display. read more

|[ g e m ]| A hidden gem for me, I stumbled upon it while looking for seaweed paper and have been a regular here since!! Love that it's not super duper crowded at least when I've gone and there is a huge parking lot. Staff are also nice and I especially like how careful they bag my items! Now the specifics. |[ f o o d ]| Food wise they have pretty much all the Korean snacks foods drink items you'd want!! I like their selection! The only thing lacking I'd say are kbbq-ready and marinated meats. But that's not a big deal. The freshly made hot food items are my fav and perfect for days I don't have time to pack or make lunch. There's also a restaurant inside but I've never tried it (food court style). |[ n o n f o o d ]| They have the usual household items as well as every appliance you could want at a Korean market such as bbq grill, shabu pot, kitchen appliances and utensils. I really love that it's a one stop shop for most things I look for in here. They also have random little mom pop shops along the wall of the entrance inside/outside which is interesting and feels like Asia haha. Overall, love this place. :) read more

Checking in they carry kewpie mayo yay!! I love this store, low prices for some items, not as busy as ktown, plenty of parking! Has the best bbq beef bulgogi marinated meat to cook! They also carry some awesome kimchi (fung bros. Recommended the yellow background and lady ocinet) if u love fish and tempura check out the banchan section, fish tempura looks soggy but bake it or air fryer and it will come back to life Mekogoli peach is really good if u are of drinking age! I would compare to a light alcoholic drink that could potentially creep up on u if u drink enough of it read more

Always come to this store when I need Asian grocery items while I'm in the San Fernando Valley area and today we needed Chinese chives, Chinese eggplant with Daikon. The staff are always helpful and friendly. read more

A really spacious Asian market with great deals on tea, tofu and bulk items to name a few. Always good service here and quality of food and beverage related grocery items. Have been here several times in the pass and more recently for some ginger sauce for a holiday party. Everything is easy to find and with such a spacious shared business parking lot it can be the fastest shopping experience you'll ever have. Highly recommend for locating special items or scoring a cool deal on some everyday ones. They are limited in what they carry, but you'll be suprised at what they do. read more
