By far the absolute WORST grocery store EVER, like in the history of mankind. They don't rotate stock, so EVERYTHING you buy there, you have to check the dates. Their meat department is a total joke. 95% of the time, it's unmanned. And don't even think about asking for a different cut, cause you'll get the deer in the headlights look. The produce department is equally as dreadful. A lot of the produce seems to have had its best days on the truck a week before reaching the store. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten rotten onions, or other produce that hard to tell from the outside if its good or not. They took out the express lanes and put in 8 self check out lines, that NO ONE wants to use. At best, at the busiest times of the day, they'll have 2 live humans checking out customers, with lines 6-8 customers deep waiting, all the while, the two cashiers that man the self check out lines are standing around doing nothing because no one wants to use the machines. Honestly, I'd never thought in a million years I'd yelp a grocery store, but the crap service, high prices, and terrible fresh food selection compelled me to. The bakery is horrible!!!! I just went to pick up my sons birthday cake and was extremely disappointed I can't believe they would sell something looking like that it looks absolutely NOTHING like the picture we gave the lady. Well I spent 10 min looking up my veggies on the self checkout and tried to get a cash out but the new thing is a $0,50 charge for cash out !!! There was no one at the register so had no choice but to go to self scanning. Scanning my own groceries & pay extra for cash out seems to be really Ridiculous to me!!! This review is for the pharmacy services. Had the pleasure of being assisted by Steve the pharmacist at Ralph's and I was having insurance issues with one of my prescriptions due to certain restrictions by the insurance plan. He took the initiative and was able to get a hold of my doctor's office the next day as it was already closed for the day to change the prescription to fit the restrictions that my insurance had and I was able to get my prescription covered. He also called me and let me know the prescription was successfully run through insurance and would be ready to picked up. Being a pharmacist myself, I know how busy it can get the hours when people start getting off of work and only one technician to assist, so he and his staff really went above and beyond. The cashier named Rochelle, she was very rude and insulting me twice when I want to use coupon. She didn't want to help or even call someone else who know how to scan the coupon code. She didn't say sorry to me when she couldn't scan my items; however, she apologized to the people behind me saying my stuff is complicated and tell me to go to another line. She told other people that was my fault using coupon that never work and she asked me to leave!!! Then I went to another line, they scanned it with NO PROBLEM!!! I told her I want to talk to the manager and she lied to me pointing some other cashier is the manager!!! It happened twice with Miss Rochelle in one month once at the self checkout line, once at the cashier line. She seems a nice person but really gave me a hard time. This store is NOT where you would want to shop right now. When we went, about half of the customers were not wearing masks. One women had her mask down to her chin, and was walking around coughing everywhere. With the december covid surge going on, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. To Ralph's management/ policy makers: letting people shop without masks does not make it "safer" for employees. This is the second time I feel harassed by the supervisor/manager standing on check out. I believe his name is Carlos. He has done this twice to me , not everyone else at check out. He was literally hovering over me while I scanned my items and degrading me like if I was stupid when I accidentally pressed the wrong letter since my finger is broken and he said it's "spelled like this". "He got way too close to my child and my child told me he felt nervous after this situation" I've never felt so embarrassed. This behavior is so disgusting. I was in the Coffee section and was greeted by the sweetest employee who asked me if I had found what I was looking for. I was looking for decaf coffee and he proceeded to joke around with me about it. We ended up bantering about caffeine, sugar, and someone drinking 5 energy drinks before their shift that morning. After being sick for a week and it being my first time out of the house he was such delight to talk with and start off my week. This is my go to Ralph's location. I stayedy going to Ralph's because of covid, and honestly, idk why i didn't before. This location tho is always clean and so spacious. Employees are always friendly too. I always use Google maps to see how busy it is and it's ALWAYS accurate. If you're like me and like to go when it's "not busy", mornings ( before 9am) are always empty, late afternoons (after 4pm) it's moderate, and evenings (after 6pm) pretty empty. I went to Ralphs yesterday and the Rochelle M was the cashier. After I paid, I checked my receipt to make sure it was correct. She charged me twice for a container of salsa so I was waiting for her to correct her mistake. She had maybe 2 or 3 customers in line. She could have corrected it asap (which other cashiers usually do when they make a mistake) but she snapped and said to the person who bags the groceries, "I am not going to hold up my line, tell her to go to self check and get help over there". She's the one who made the mistake and she seemed irritated. She didn't apologize either. She had an attitude that I did not like. I am definitely NEVER going to her line if she's at a cash register. If a person does not want to work in customer service, then they should work somewhere else. read more

Update: I remember when the store was doing its renovating. No one could find items for at least a month and would go down aisles more than once. Now, us loyal shoppers have re-memorized the store. This Ralphs has thee best, long-term staff I've seen. Lisa, Vivian, and several whose names are escaping me are always cheerful, polite, helpful, and fast. They added the scan program (unsure of the correct term) which makes it easier and faster for customers. It has the Starbucks, bank, coin machine, and much more. I always love their seasonal items too. I love this Ralphs and I love nearly all the employees I've encountered over the past few decades. Until tonight. There was a bagger by the name of Blake. He did not have a nametag and wore a solid black shirt. Not a typical uniform. I had my typical storage bags that I use, which are sturdy and ordered off Amazon. Everyone loves them and comments on how strong they are. Blake was so lazy. He was sitting at the end where the bags go and literally was tossing the items into the cart where my bag were. He did not keep them on the counter and stack the goods inside like an organized game of Tetris or storing luggage in the trunk of a car. He just threw them in with no random thought of heavy items first or frozen with frozen. Nothing. Pardon the photo I will attach with the massive feminine products displayed. Lol. We have a house full of women here and the sale was epic, on the Always brand! I will say that the cashier tonight even told him, "You cannot sit there. You are working." I don't even believe a verbal is necessary here. He should be fired. We are now in level PURPLE, the highest there could be in terms of restrictions and precautions that need to be taken. I saw 4 employees. 3 OF THEM HAD THEIR MASKS BELOW THEIR NOSES/MOUTHS. Unacceptable. I was furious. I went back a few days later and had the same situation - but worse. There was an employee who clocked off and took her mask off - as if it's only required while on the clock- and proceeded to linger around the check out area, laughing, talking loudly and sticking her nose in to see what people were buying. I ended up calling the manager to let him know how shocked I was by this behavior and leniency. Until this, I hadn't been to a single store during covid where the employees weren't wearing their masks properly. Hoping I don't see this the next time i go in. read more

Of all the Ralphs in the area, I probably like this one the best. It's convenient, it's in a quiet enough area near some somewhat major streets (Rose/Chapman), it has ample parking, and it's in a neighborhood that is safe and calm...most of the time. Groceries are pretty fresh and options are pretty good. There are still occasions when they do run out of certain groceries, but they do restock when they can. Had one occasion when they were completely out of mint. Mojito season, maybe? But, of course, I love how cleeeean it is. Can't help but walk in here, take a deep breath of fresh goodness, and spend money. Prices on meat can be okay. Beware: they can expire a day or two before the actual expiration. Nice center, too. You have a pho place, banks, recycling in the back parking lot of the Ralphs, urgent care, sushi, pizza, teriyaki bowl, kid daycare, woman's spa, car wash, UPS store... I like it when I can knock off a lot of things off of my to-do list for the day in one area! read more

Solid Ralph's, never seems to be very busy. They did a remodel and the place seems dark and cavernous to me. It seems establishments loooove to have it dark to set a vibe, I dunno. I love shopping here and you have some of the best people working except for a few ignorant ones. First of all... your digital coupon system is terrible. Just check the app review on the app store and you will know what im talking about. Its tough to use unless youre tech savy. I cant imagine my grandma, let alone my mom try to use it on their phone. I had the same issue while trying to use it on my phone for the first time and the coupon did not apply at the time of the purchase. When I asked for help, your employee said the paper with a scan code is just a useless piece of paper and looked at me as if I lost my mind. Oh? Can you guys stop sending me these useless piece of paper in my mail box then? When she realized that it was a digital coupon, she told me that I input the wrong number and thats probably why its not applying on my app. Hmm.. I've been shopping in the same location with the same member id for years. I even told her I could put the number again to show her its the same number. Its only when I tried this app to get that digital coupon that I had the problem. It seems like your employee was frustrated that she couldn't help and gave me $5 discount on my purchase so that she could go on with her day. Normally i try not to make a scene wherever I go. I couldve just walked out without getting that discount for $1.77. I have better things to do. But I didnt appreciate the fact that your employee tried to dumb me down by telling me that what Im holding is just a piece of paper. Then to tell me that my permanent number that I've been using and shopping for over 10 years is incorrect? Look... just get rid of that nonsense. Went to go pick up a cake order for sons bday and the girl was incredibly rude. She was nice to the white man before me but changed her tone when we asked for our order (we are not white). We called and said we would pick it up Sunday and she said we were supposed to pick it up Saturday- gave us attitude. Then gave us more attitude when we said she spelled the name wrong on the cake. This store is ok. Deli has spotty service, the store is not always stocked, and I'm seeing fewer 5 products. The ralphs brand is adequate, but I prefer brand-name products. The Ralph's store on Yorba Linda Blvd is much better and well stocked as well as Albertsons. read more

Went to this Ralph's yesterday with a voucher for cash from the recycling center behind the store. I went up to the desk at the front and was told that I would either have to get in line at a checkout lane or go to self-checkout to redeem the voucher. The lines were long in the traditional checkout lanes so I opted for the self-checkout. My mistake. I found an open self-checkout scanner, but whenever I tried scanning my voucher, nothing would happen. I tried to get the attention of the self-checkout attendant, who was pre-occupied with other issues at the self-checkout section. I was passed around between her and a person who I'm assuming was her manager, that was wearing a pink purse around her and didn't even look to be in traditional uniform. Both of them attempted to assist me by scanning their employee cards, re-filling the receipt tape (which didn't seem to be related to my issue), and bouncing me back and forth between different scanners. The "manager" was able to get my voucher scanned appropriately at a scanner and told me that my cash would be dispensed from the machine. On this machine was a sign that said it had no cash in it, and I pointed this out to her. She was finally able to help me at the attendant register in the self-checkout lane. Couldn't they have just done this from the beginning? What a mess. None of this hassle was worth the $2.58 I was trying to get from recycling my bottles. Avoid! read more

For many years, this has been my favorite Ralph's market. The produce section is my favorite part of the store. However, I learned today that they cannot enforce the social distancing standards that are still in effect. While unloading my groceries at checkout , I noticed a couple standing very close to my chart. I mentioned to the cashier that this couple was not practicing social distancing. She and her coworker informed me they could not say anything to the customers. The couple returned to the x marked and stated they didn't like to me told on. Eventually, they went to another cashier and all was well. However, upon further inspection of this couple, I noticed they didn't weren't wearing masks. So, now there's exposure to me and the cashier. Ralph's and essential business can't enforce their own standards. Don't feel safe. read more

What store doesn't accept Apple Pay at this day and age? I was dumbfounded when I had my groceries all ready rung up and went to Apple Pay and the gentleman said they don't accept Apple Pay. Their items are fairly well stocked, but I find that they lack a lot of basic items. Their alcohol selection is not the greatest, but the employees are always willing to help when they can. The Starbucks in the store brings a lot of people in, but they don't enforce social distancing here. read more

I have to say every single time I come to this particular Ralph's, I am disappointed. Just walking through it gives me anxiety knowing that what I am looking for is not going to be in stock, or they don't have it. The shelves are rarely stocked, they are always out of goods, it looks like they're in a constant state of restocking. You're just better off going to another grocery store. I spend a lot of time and money here on a weekly basis. It's my favorite Ralph's to shop at. It's clean, well-stocked and employ some of my favorite grocery store employees. Rochelle in particular is always so friendly, helpful and kind. Jonathan is another favorite. He's a hard worker and is always open to helping you any way he can. Scott in produce is another great employee who is personable and keeps the produce section fresh and well stocked. I've had a positive experience overall with their customer service. This location is soo much better than the Villa Park one! I admit, all the Ralph's in Irvine have me soo spoiled! There much bigger and offer a lot of things! I love their fresh soup and going to the hot bar on a weekly basis! I finally tried out the VP location last week and was so disappointed, their hot bar was non-existent! I knew their had to be another location near me that was better! Ask and you shall receive! This location is HUGE! Everything your looking for and MORE! It's gigantic! The salad and soup bar is on point! The deli/hot bar area was great! I ordered 4 things and only one wasn't good LOL Everything you could think of and more is at this Ralphs! I am so happy to have this location! It's hard getting acquainted to a different store but this is going to be my go to spot! Huge selection of produce, meats and deli counter! Not to mention there's a Starbucks inside and the service is great too! No matter what Ralph's I go to there always isn't enough people working at the deli counter and when it comes to checking out. I'm not sure what the problem is but it needs to be fixed throughout all the stores. Other than that, I'm a big fan of this location! I usually don't give one star rating, but this Ralphs needs to retrain its employee in the food department. Unacceptable service, getting 8 pieces of drumstick took 20 minutes? If only the service person ignored me, I would go away. I entertained "I will be right there!" for 15 minutes. After another sales associate came over, a not very well versed one with the menu. She asked me where did you see the 8 drumsticks? Are you blind? They are there on your menu. Then, I asked for a ketchup; uhhh she told me, we probably have it and she just left me there. Then I asked for large cup of soda, it took her another 5 minutes to get me one. Worst, before she gave it to me, she spilled it in front of my face. Then she got a napkin and cleaned the table first? Are you a numbskull? Your customer is right in front of you. Take care of him first, wipe his glass and get him his soda. I told her that I did not want the soda anymore. She threw the large soda to the trash... what a waste!!! Very sad, the only thing I can tell you, even in a beat up Mexican market I could get a better service. Noel, at the meat department, is always available and ready to answer questions. He is also very professional, efficient, friendly and kind.
