I don't do my regular grocery shopping at Stater Bros, but their deals on steaks can't be beat. There isn't necessarily a great deal every week, but if you sign up to receive their weekly ad email, it is easy to keep tabs on their sales. Last week I loaded up on six New York steaks for $8.99/lb, and this week they have porterhouse steaks for $9.99/lb which I also loaded up on. I put the individual steaks in plastic wrap, then a layer of aluminum foil, and put them in a zip lock bag and get out as much air as possible before sealing and putting them in the freezer. This keeps them good for a long time, and I just keep buying them when great deals like this are available. There are usually two or three steaks per package, and it seems like they often put a really good cut in with a not as good cut. Look thru them all to find the best pairs with two good cuts. Every time I walk into the store, there is a sushi station right by the east entrance where somebody is always there making fresh sushi daily. It always looks so good and fresh. You can either choose from what is on display, or place an order and pick it up later after it has been prepared. I called ahead and asked if they I could order sashimi, and was happy when they said yes because I've only seen sushi on display before. I ordered half salmon and half tuna ($8.99), and it was ready when I arrived 20 minutes later. The sashimi was so fresh, and the pieces were surprisingly bigger and thicker than I expected. It came with a package of soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. This was far superior to a sashimi sampler I ordered from another restaurant this past weekend, and this was several dollars cheaper. Judy, who was at the counter today, was so kind and friendly. I do pick up some regular grocery items from time to time, and their prices seem to be on par with or just slightly below my regular grocery store. I'll continue to take advantage of their great sales on steak. I'm happy I finally tried their sushi, it's great! read more

The store has declined in the past 6 months! It's still neat and clean but the Produce is OLD!! Nothing fresh looking. We have complained about it before and nothing has been done. Going to start getting my produce at Whole Foods! It's literally the best. Staters meats are also old, brown in color, marked down!! Just horrible! The ribs they had out this week looked terrible, probably why they were on sale. The music is so loud and obnoxious we literally can't wait to finish up our shopping and leave. I've been shopping at this Starer Bros for the last 15 years and WOW, has this place taken a nosedive. For as much money as I spend here, and how much groceries cost these days, I expect much better. My latest trip here was absolutely horrible! The idiot in the meat department who has no clue, ends up serving me a bunch of crap carne asada, half the pieces fell through the grill since they were so small! I don't know if he was just clueless or just trying to pad the scale or what, but this is unacceptable. I didn't catch his name, but he was a younger guy and would be better off working with the janitorial staff or at Del Taco across the parking lot... The meat department needs better, qualified people and not someone like this as their meats are supposedly what made them famous! Additionally, they never have enough checkers or bagger staff here. I spent $400 on groceries and had to bag my own items. This place has great potential but really needs management to step up and straighten things out. read more

I always shop here for my groceries. I love the fresh fruit. It's hard to find a place that can cut fresh fruit for you. You always have to buy package stuff and it seemed gross. My fav (and very conveniently located) Stater Bros Market closed a few months ago. I have passed by this plaza many times over the years, without knowing there was a Stater Bros here until a couple of weeks ago. I was on my way to an appointment, but since I was running early and saw the Stater Bros sign, I decided to stop by first because I needed to pick up a few things. The parking lot is vast, clean, and had plenty of parking for a weekday morning. As most Stater Bros locations, it was easy to find what I was looking for and the prices are, as always, very reasonable. The shelves were all fully and neatly stocked. Today May 5, 2026 around 10:30 this morning, I was in the produce dept. looking for tomatoes. The spot was empty and the produce clerk was putting up other items. He looked at me and went back to working on what he was doing and didn't bother to help. So I did the rest of my shopping and came back and he looked at me and still kept working on other items. I said in a voice for him to hear, that I guess I'll have to get my tomatoes at Ralph's. Again he looked at me and went back to doing what he was doing. So I left and went and bought my tomatoes at Ralph's. If I knew that was going to happen I would have just went to Ralph's and did all my shopping there. read more

I'm not sure if current grocery baggers are getting sufficiently trained before being put to work. I am very patient with inexperience, new staff and individuals with special needs. At the grocery level I routinely put my groceries on the check out belt separating my non-foods, toiletries, detergents, dry packed foods, wet items, frozen foods and hot deli items to make it easier for the baggers. Unfortunately, the effort didn't seem to make a difference to the bagger as it appeared all my groceries were shoveled in to bags. It was somewhat annoying to have dry boxed items like cereal all wet from the wet produce and milk, all piled into the same bag. This may have just been an isolated situation as the individual stated she is off soon and was in a rush. It seems basics of hello, good bye and thank you are not as common as it once was. I'm sure a bit of experience and training could fix any issues. In generally the visit was good and the majority of the staff was very professional. read more

There was so many deals and you don't even have to scan a barcode or bring a card, just typed in your phone number when check out items at cashier then you will see all discounts. Bad experience at the meat counter. Went in on a Friday at 5pm but the store was not busy. Walked up to the meat counter. One employee was assisting a customer. So I patiently waited. There were two additional employees standing talking in the back. No acknowledgment from either. Finally, the employee assisting a current customer asked both employees for assistance. One employee turned and walked away and the second employee just started to work. So I just left. This is not the first time at this location and I have noticed this at other locations. This store was my go to store for years, but I don't think I'll be going there anymore. I went there on Monday this week and noticed their handicap parking locations have changed. I do have to use the handicap spaces due to mobility problems. Now all handicap spaces run along the front of the store. This means I would have to back my car out of the space into the main aisle. Cars drive thru there so fast, I just don't want to take a chance backing out into a high traffic lane. read more

I have always had a wonderful experience with stater bros and their products but this is by far the worst grocery store experience I have ever had. The produce is always bad. The meat looks horrible and bread always goes bad after a few days. I have been shopping at stater bros for over 25 years so since I moved to a new area I figured the quality would be the same but it is far from it. I've been meaning to express my love for my favorite grocery store. I haven't shopped there in weeks now, and my neighbors don't shop there anymore either. We are tired of certain employees complaining in front of customers(baggers) and there is a manager that shouts across the registers saying "don't call me to check! I have things to do." To my knowledge, Stater Bros. Markets always valued their customers with great customer service. There are many others there that are great employees but also a handful of unhappy employees too. I went in today after 3 weeks of not shopping there; I know we have bad days at work but this manager, Chris always seems to be unhappy. Many times in the past, he always shouts across the sales floor and belittles his employees with unprofessional behavior. Does Staters offer customer service classes? I normally like Stater Bros and used to like this location, but my last few experiences here were beyond awful. Both the staff and the store manager are unhelpful and completely unaware of their own store policies. I had a question around manufacturer coupons and the manager wasn't even sure if they could be reversed or not after being scanned. I finally called the nearby location in Yorba Linda and their store manager promptly and confidently shared their corporate policies, which was really helpful. Needless to say, beware if you go to this location, as the staff just isn't very nice in general. They also barely open up any checkout lines, so the wait times can sometimes be rather long. I recommend going to the location on Lakeview instead. read more

March 2020 Pretty disappointing to see how the cashier today was rude. I came in to buy groceries for my parents since they are within the vulnerable age group (60+) and the cashier did not want to honor the sale price because they placed limitation on the items. I informed her i would gladly stay within the limit as long as I can get the sale price but in the end she didn't care. I'm fine with placing limits on items but if the customer came in for the sale price at least honor the AD. read more

I was so discussed when I drove by this Stater Bros that I will probably never shop here because of what I witnessed. I believe the woman was a Supervisor who was clearly yelling at an older man that was outside in this horrible heat to collect shopping carts. The behavior of this woman was very unprofessional and a bad look for Stater Bros. I wondered to myself if this poor man was treated like this outside in a parking lot what happens behind closed doors in this store? I come to this location quite frequently as it's one of my favorites. Always seems to be clean inside, shelves always stocked. But what I always notice is this young employee, Christina, working the dairy department every time I shop here. Her department is always fully stocked and organized. We've been shopping at the Stater Brothers for five years. All of the employees are extremely helpful anytime we need help finding something. Nico one of the counter workers in the meat department and is extremely helpful, when I want to pick some filet mignon out of the meat counter he will gladly help and is always smiling with the best work ethics you can have. His customer service is quite impressive. I think the store manager should use him as an example of elite customer service and clone him:) This store is very well run with happy employees which stems from a really good store manager who knows how to train his staff. Usually go to a different Stater Bros location, but today I was in the area and stopped in. The service on the sales floor was very welcoming. Everything on my list was available, and found a few deals. The cashier on 15 items or less checkout at around 10:15 am 12/27 didn't have a visible name tag or customer a service skill set. A customer before me had her do a refund. After waiting some time I had no problem waiting a bit longer. She turns to me and said "you have 2 options wait or go to a different register..." idk where her rudeness came from, she didn't even have a greeting, I said excuse me as that was very rude. She repeated herself with an attitude. I wasn't going to deal with her so I took my items with no help from her or staff and moved over. It looks like she struggles with basic customer service skills. This employee must take a toll on the customer service ratings.... overall the store visit was good, not Great. read more

I've never considered a review for a supermarket but here it is. First of all this Stater Bros has been my go to since it opened over 25 plus years. I would give it a 5 star for all of their departments except for checkout today. I had finished my shopping and went to a checkout line. I saw line number 4 and proceeded thinking I had gotten into that line. I finished and paid my order and the checker had brought to my attention that I got into the 15 item or less line. I did get in the wrong line and I apologized. I don't mind that she brought that up to me but I did not do this intentionally. She then proceeded to tell me again and that other customers might complain and bring it up to management attention. AGAIN she repeated the 15 line rule and I apologized again. Well, she kept on and at that point I stopped listening and apologized a 3rd time and that I would not do that again. I have never left a market feeling bad or embarrassed as I did for doing something unintentionally. I shop here every week. Not sure what was up today, but I'm not happy. I walked into the store and passed a gentleman coming out with a full load of groceries maskless inside the store. And, got boxed in putting my groceries in the car by a second maskless couple doing the same. What changed? Why are you no longer keeping your shoppers and employees safe? All of your elder shoppers are at risk. I am at risk with asthma. I get that you can't do anything about the parking lot, BUT certainly you can inside the store. I've lost family and have sick friends due to Covid. Please take this more seriously and deny service to the maskless few. The rest of us are working hard to curb this thing. If I can't trust Stater Bros to follow their own rule, I will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Well, I will never return to this store. Very frustrating after waiting in line for the store to open and watching one of the overnight stockers walk out with two of the largest packs of toilet paper you can buy before the store even opens. It gets better. The toilet paper sells out in about 1 minute and out of frustration I check OfferUp. What a coincidence, but the same large pack of toilet paper just posted for sale for $100. Complete and total BS. I will be inquiring with the District Attorney's office about price gouging. read more
