I purchased 4 large avocados and the Whole Foods market 365 pre-packaged avocados, four count. They were firm when I purchased them. I left them on the kitchen counter to ripen. 7 days later, the large avocados had enough give that I thought they were ripe. One after one, I sliced them open to see they were rotten inside. I was upset with myself for waiting too long. The next day, despite the avocados still being quite firm, I sliced open all four of the pre-packaged avocados. They were also rotten inside. Whole Foods has a pretty impressive selection of tall-boy canned local beers available. I wanted to buy 10 or 11 of them, but as I was picking off individual cans from four and six packs, someone came by and let me know they don't sell the cans individually. So I reaffirmed their statement by asking, "so I have to buy either all 4pk or 6pk, or none of them?", to which they stated "yes." Ok, well I guess I'm not getting anything.... So I did not get any. I don't want to buy over $100 worth of 4pk-beer to try a wide selection lol I want spend 25 bucks . After I checked out with the rest of my groceries, I went to the customer service booth and asked why they did not sell their tall cans individually. I explained the story above, and the guy let me know it was because they did not want to mess up their inventory in the back. I brought up that nearly every other business lets customers buy the cans individually OR in a pack, and the guy again mentioned it was because they did not want their backstock to get messy. That is the most ridiculous answer ever. Either buy all of the beer, or none of the beer to keep the company's backstock leaner? What on earth does that have to do with being a customer? And come on... selling individual cans would not at all impact the backstock whatsoever, if we are being real. Having a few individual cans out would increase sales, not mess up the backstock or inventory... come on. The guy at the customer service booth told me I could place a special order in the back to pick up at a future date if I wanted to buy a bunch of single cans. It was an unrealistic suggestion for something that they had on hand right now, that I wanted to buy right now. I'm not going to go to the back and place a special order, and come back in a week or so to pick up a few cans of beer. It was a bad experience, but it was mostly just stupid and didn't make any sense. And I didn't end up buying anything. read more

Terrible service at the seafood counter. They do 12 for $12 oysters on Friday and that is all they focus on and take forever to even acknowledge you. I didn't even come in for oysters and I stood at the counter for 20 minutes before anyone said anything to me and left before they got to help me. Don't come here. read more

I enjoy Whole Foods and this location is my go to one. Yes, you may say it's pricey but depends what you buy. They have a great variety of groceries, organic options and amazing food bar. I took advantage of the Friday deals and purchased a pepperoni pizza for $12! That deal is pretty sweet! All the employees here are super friendly and helpful, store is clean and vibrant! Man, oh man. I love Whole Foods and I am a frequent customer (and have been for 20+ years). This was my first time going to this location in Brea. I came in to order a drink at the juice bar. There was no line so I walked right up to the register. The two employees were busy making drinks so I stood at the cashier for 5+ minutes without any acknowledgement. No, "we will be right with you." A little strange, but they're making drinks. That's ok, I thought. Quickly the line built behind me. There seemed to be a lack of urgency despite the fact that they weren't particularly busy. There was no line when I got there. One of the workers apparently went to the back room for 5-10 min leaving only one employee working. By the time I got my drink it was probably 30 minutes from the time I got in line. 30 minutes for a smoothie when there was no line! Seems unreasonable to me.. When the drinks were ready the employees were faintly calling out orders. No one could hear. Drinks were served without straws so I had to get my own. It was just a total lack of customer service from start to finish and a lack of urgency which caused wait times to unnecessarily build. I would totally understand if they were swamped with customers, but that was not the case... there was no line when I got there. It was just a lack of care. The only thing saving this review from being one-star was that the drink was good. But the customer service was NON-EXISTENT. I get better service at McDonald's. No joke. read more

Came to check this Whole Foods location out. It's a beautiful store, but beauty comes with a higher price tag. The store layout was very familiar to me, as it looks very much like the Amazon Fresh stores. Same format, same pricing, just more of their 365 brand items and speciality things. It's not really a regular grocery store I would think, unless you have some crazy amount of disposable income. But, they have a good selection of brand and store-brand items - but again...they all err on the pricier end. I think one would find shopping here amazing if they're looking for a few items here and there, or want a quick bite. Their deli/salad area, where there's dozens of mixed salads and pastas, looked pretty good, but was like $10-$11 per pound. They also had some pretty good selection of bakery items. There were some nice soap displays at my last visit, which was nice. But overall, a very clean store, lots of products, just a higher price range. If you have Amazon Prime, there's lots of discounts around the store. read more

I really like the easiness and cleanliness of these little markets. They're convenient and the food, there's so much selection and things I want to try. Kinda reminds me of the beloved and missed Fresh and Easy. I miss that place but here @ Whole Foods they had this one thing I kinda went and it turned out to be the highlight of my weekend evening. The delicious Berry Chantilly cake is just mmm. Especially for summer and they have different sizes and we loved it. A lot of nice discoveries and I highly recommend Whole Foods. The store is very spacious and well stocked. There is also an Amazon drop off which you can either do yourself or walk ip to the attendant. The parking lot can be chaotic, as it it shared with many other businesses in this shopping center, along with an apartment complex in the back. read more

I think this store has lost their way when they start selling rotten vegetables. On Saturday, I bought a head of iceberg lettuce and a head of romaine lettuce. As it was, I tried to pick out what was the best out of what they had available. Sunday, I prepared salad for my lunches at work this coming week. When I cut into the lettuce, I found with both heads of lettuce, brown and rotten. I ended up throwing away at least a third of what I bought. Between the total of the two heads, I paid $5 for lettuce! I don't understand what's happening to Whole Foods Brea, but on this occasion, I bought rotten food. Whole Foods bakery and deli foods are top quality and tasty but the service in the bakery dept has been subpar. An employee in the bakery dept, Sophie/Sophia, looked at me waiting, multiple times and making eye contact, but continued to stock the shelves in the store while I stood there waiting 7 min for an item behind the glass that can only be obtained from a bakery employee. And no one was behind the counter so clearly she should help me.
