I don't know why this Ralph's have so many bad reviews. Never had any problems there. I love that it is open until late at night.

I like this Ralphs, it's a bit far from us but I still go to it because they have long store hours. They are open till late at night. It's very organized & well stocked. It's got fresh produce & fruits. I just bought fresh chives & Rosemary from here after going to Smart & Final down the street & saw they were out. At this location, they have a lot of different kosher pastries. I just wish they carried kosher meat & I wish they had Ralphs closer to us in RPV. The parking is good, there is always plenty of space & the parking spaces are wide & roomy. read more

The new in store Starbucks service is really bad. For commuters, it is a disaster because they only have 1 person to take your order, make your drink and prepare your food. Waited in line for over 10 minutes and never got to the order part. Really, to have only 1 person during the morning commute time makes no sense. Whoever is the manager, should be there especially in the morning to gauge the foot traffic. I arrived at 7:25 am and there were 4 people ahead of me. I waited for at least 10-15 minutes and never got to order. Due my commute time I cannot be waiting that long and still make my commute on time. I will probably never try to use this location again. At least at a regular Starbucks they have enough people to get you in and out in reasonable amount of time. read more

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Seriously folks, it's a grocery store not Terrenea! They have everything that I need, everything is in it's place and orderly. Remodeled not that long ago and it looks nice, not like the one that is farther down the street in Lomita. Pharmacy is super convenient and always very helpful with all my questions! Hey guys, read a few reviews. Im sorry to hear a few customers were not too happy with their experience here. I on the other hand had good customer service from the cashiers and stock employees. Yes, the deli workers could smile a bit more but i usually smile at them first. Say "please and thank you" they seem to lighten up. The little lady who makes up the sushi dishes. Love her! I always make my way to hi to her in the morning. Shes so sweet. I go here just about every morning to get my coffee and lo carb meals. I've been working next door in the other plaza for years and it took me this long to discover the benefits of this Ralphs. It has all the stuff i need for my lo carb or diet meals. Meat has a decent selection, produce always fresh. The salad bar is all i need to stay on track. Very happy with all of its selection. It can get a lil pricey but use your Ralph's card. It helps. Anyways I love it here. Heck perfect for the holidays when you need some flowers too!! Or roses!! Hahahaha! Why not 5 stars? Well like i said the customer service is fine but can be worked on. Unless you go really early, off hours, a chore to just get into the parking lot. Traffic and parking is horrendous. Most cars in the parking lot aren't even Ralph's customers. After parking down the street one day and walking, I thought Ralph's would be packed, but it wasn't. Other businesses and I think people just park their cars there. Ralph's website is incorrect, store does NOT open at 5:00am. I complained on the website to no avail. A decent grocery store, but I don't go there unless early morning on weekends. I'll trek to Albertsons (just opened) and Vons before dealing with that traffic jam and no parking. read more

Definitely not the best Ralph's, which is disappointing. When I lived in Long Beach I went to Ralph's all the time. I loved the baked chicken, and other deli items. Me and my girlfriend always go in the late hours to grab random items at this location which is super convenient. We love that they always have deals on our favorite treats and self checkouts that are always open. It makes for quick hassle free trips. The security guards are the nicest employees in the store, always saying "hello" and "have a good night" and sometimes fun conversation. The actual clerks seem to hate their life but it's the night shift so we don't really blame them. And their manager is an awful woman who scolds them in front of customers while she's ringing up your stuff making for an awkward experience all around. We literally make sure we don't go to the store after the self checkout is closed so we don't have the possibility of having to interact with her. She's the reason for the minus one star. read more

Service in the bakery is awful. Rest of the store seems to be fine but I wouldn't order anything from the bakery. Good luck even trying . Bakery attendant is never around. Took 15 min to find someone who would even look for the guy and they never found him. They kept paging bakery and no one came. After 30 min of waiting I gave up because I'm too scared with service this awful hey probably wouldn't fill the cake order. U dependable. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, would ! I I was in San Pedro Ralph's on western. Taking Omar to the restroom, I was walking pass this tall stack of water bottles packs when I felt one about to fall, my quick instinct was to try to stop it from falling and yell "Omar". He was literally behind me and I pushed him and everything fell down! Only few may understand how terrified I felt to see this tower literally almost about to fall on my son. If it were not for my mother instinct. And The only damn thing the manager on site could say was, "sorry, I'll have that fix right away." You can't fix what panic and what anxiety you brought to me. Then I had the unfortunate experiance with the dressings, the Blue Cheese dressing was bad....I guess along with the other salad items it had been out too long for too many days without anybody checking it out first? This Ralphs continues to disappoint and irritate me on almost every visit, I have lived a block away for 6 years so it is a necessary evil.. Lackadaisical and rude clerks that yammer with equally rude customers. Lousy prices, Stale overpriced bread. I work odd hours, once I was there when doors opened in the morning to get some breakfast staples, I went for a stale bagel and put it back, decided to play it safe and get pop-tarts there where 3 stockers showed up with there scanners like they where going to stun me with them. Never had a problem with security until recently, Even when I park my car I do not like to leave, camera/computer bag in the car. A new Security guard "Buffalo Bill" confronted me and insisted to take my bag. I refused and he followed uncomfortably close behind me saying "sir,sir,sir" I grabbed a few items and just ignored him. He was yammering on uncomfortably close that I could smell his bad breath. The only reason I go there is its a block away. I enjoy days when my work takes me across the path of Albertsons or Top Value Market on the way home, And I have got better and longer lasting produce from the 1$ store. read more

i've shopped at this store for about twelve years and have found it to be a pleasant experience. however, today when i went in the store, i noticed three employees who were wearing masks, but who apparently thought a mask did not need to cover the nose. either these employees are not very smart or have little information or possibly simply don't care about their own safety of that of the customers. it would be nice if management were to instruct its employees about the way in which a mask is to be worn -- and then mandated that the instructions be followed. this is not acceptable. read more

Nice staff for the most part but I have run into some not as helpful people. My weekly stop for things Trader Joes doesn't carry. Have always received well with the roast chicken when I don't feel like cooking. Sometimes it takes them weeks before I see something missing from the aisle. read more

The produce is tops but Sprouts has better prices. No bargains on meat and I hate having to put my phone # in to get preferred prices. The biggest reason for 2 stars is customer service. I don't understand why management doesn't read the yelp reviews and train their checkers better. Anyone can drag a product over a scanner and push it through, it would be nice to have a smile and greeting. The typical checker shows no appreciation towards their customers. I'm appalled by the lack of consideration or frankly, safety for customers. I used a shopping cart today that should have been retired. Only after getting to my car with a full cart of groceries and having the whole cart flip on top of me did I realize that two wheels were missing rubber. The whole Cart fell hitting me on the left side of my leg not only causing a visual scrape but immediate bruising. When I went back in to ask the manager to get rid of the cart his first response was, "so you want me to fill out paper work?". Never an apology, check in.."are you okay?" Or can we get you some ice (my leg was black and blue). I'm shocked that this establishment treats customers so poorly when 1) their defective cart hurt me 2) when all I was trying to do was get them to remove the hazardous cart from their rotation. I just moved into the neighborhood and won't ever be back. This supermarket is a hazard in more ways than one. read more

Good prices, service was good as well. The produce section is really nice, all the fruits and vegetables were fresh and shiny. I owe Ralph's and baker/deli worker Maria Shepard a huge debt of gratitude. Like a dunderhead, I left my wallet right on the bakery counter Saturday morning while picking up a full sheet cake for our church's 60th anniversary. I didn't notice it missing until Sunday evening. Panicked, I tore apart my house and car last night to no avail, and worried all night, dreading the many emails, phone calls and the DMV line I would brave to replace its contents. This morning I went to the last place I remembered using it and THERE IT WAS SAFE AND SOUND!! Thank you to Maria and to Ralph's! Do not buy cucumbers from Ralph's right now. They are terribly bitter. We called to let them know and the employee that answered the phone sounded out of this world and did not care to go check the batch of vegetables, he just offered new ones and we bought 5 of them from different spots of the pile so it can't just be a coincidence. It's sad that this is one of the only major grocery stores in Pedro right now and they are neglecting bad product. read more

After having called in a deli order days in advance. I get to the store for pickup to learn that my order was not even prepared. They had the order in their system but supposedly a female employee miss placed it. While the deli team did try to pull my order together. I learned that the $54 boars head platter of wraps that had to be put together from ready made packages where not fresh. After paying for my items at the deli section I push my basket towards the door, before I could get out the doors the manager comes running up to me asking for my receipt! Saying there's been a lot of theft in the store. He marks on the top of the receipt, and asked that I call to give a survey. Here I am dressed professionally moving slowly trying to leave the store but yet he thinks that I have possibly stolen something. Needless to say I was not offended, because I am black. I was more so disgusted by the fact that the store did not have my order ready at the deli counter. Secondly as I was pushing my basket towards the door I got outside and the basket locked. I had to transfer my groceries from one basket to another in order to get them to my car. People think that shopping in San Pedro and Palos Verdes is the way to go as some people consider it to be an upscale area. Negative! it's just a place that has overpriced homes with smoggy views of the ports and Hills. I love this Ralphs so much. The pharmacy has caught mistakes my doctor has made and will point you in the right direction if an over-the-counter option is available for less money. They pretty much always have whatever groceries I'm looking for. Best of all, the checkout clerks are patient and kind to older shoppers who need a little extra time collecting their things after a purchase. One wonderful checker told an older family member of mine, "You just take your time getting your change. You take the time you need." I will forever be grateful that the staff treats her like a person worthy of dignity and respect. Thank you, Ralphs! read more
