Who doesn't love Trader Joe's? It's small enough so it's not overwhelming yet you can get almost anything you need. They pretty much have mostly just their brands but they're pretty good and decently priced! The customer service is usually pretty friendly. I've been coming here ever since I first Moved and it's been a pleasant experience all of the time (except for the one time my car got hit in the parking lot I wish they had outdoor cameras but it's not the stores fault this happened) They used to host fun coloring contests for kids on holidays and my daughter would always participate when she was younger. The snack selections are some of the most interesting and tasty you can find. People working are charismatic and social. I've seen a lot of people complain that shopping here can be stressful or hectic but I've never felt that way, I always fee ecstatic and excited while inside as there's so much cool products to look through and you get to share that feeling with all the customers around you! Plus they try to make shopping fun for even your KIDS with the scavenger hunt for their mascot! It's cute they have different animals for every locations and it truly helps tired parents to give their kids something to do while shopping, another complaint is that it's more of an ingredients/ snack store (which you make meals out of ingredients....) I beg to differ because there is such a wide variety of meats and proteins, sides, veggies, etc. etc etc. they even have some of the tastiest frozen meals you can find and if you don't like something they have such a nice store policy to return even OPENED food. They give samples out and their meat is always more tender than my local supermarket. I really love Trader Joe's and it's one of my favorite places to shop around San Pedro and all around. read more

Typical (although seems on the smaller side) Trader Joe's. It's in a multi-level shopping center that can be a bit confusing. There are certain places where you can enter and you have to loop around the right way to get to certain stores. If you're not buying a lot, it's probably easiest to just park and walk up the stairs street side. Staff were very friendly, as I've come to expect. read more

This is my "go to" location because it's closest to me. Unfortunately I feel like no matter what time of day it's always crowded. I normally enjoy shopping in this store, but today, they were unnecessarily rude. They were giving out the lavender totes at one *per person* and my seven year old was very excited to get one as it's the same color as Ditto. We were going to match and he could keep his Pokemon plushies in them. However, the woman handing them out at the front snapped at him unkindly, saying "he doesn't get one". I would understand if it was limited to adults, as there are people who use their kids to take advantage. However, I don't know who spit in her cereal to act to rude and not even treat my son as someone with feelings and his own autonomy. A really bad look and this store should consider reviewing their customer service towards children as well. My son didn't even want the bag I gave him as that wasn't the point of the matter--how he was treated in a store that he normally loved going to was. Shameful. read more

Great store. Somewhat smaller than others but a great source of things you want. Except sheep's milk Feta, for some reason it has disappeared. A busy but well staffed market with helpful people. Of the things I use, if I can get it here then make a point of doing so. Parking is a bit dicey, move slowly and check often, there are lots moving parts in a small area. read more

I usually have a great experience leaving attended well at check out. But tonight the 2 women whom attended me were talking about their life in front of us especially when another girl came up and there was no acknowledgement towards the end. I was bagging my own foods, I felt like an undervalued customer. I myself do not like to ignore customers because it can be unpleasant, I left saying "have a goodnight" and 1 responded "yea you too" and just went straight back to talking. I honestly love Trader Joe's and I don't come here as often as I'd like. I've been in a few times the last few weeks because they carry the already washed, peeled, and cut sweet potatoes. My only gripe about those is that they don't carry them year round. It's only during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I eat sweet potatoes a lot for a clean meal prep carb, though I prepare them differently than I do when I am making them for the holidays. If you don't have a lot of money to spend or you'd like to try out many different things at reasonable prices, Trader Joe's is a good place to shop. They have all kinds of selections, especially in the frozen foods section and the prices afford you the ability to try many things you probably wouldn't normally. They have everything from frozen seafood, pizzas, appetizers, veggies, rice, breakfast items, and desserts. They have a liquor section, plants and flowers, fresh veggies, breads, etc. I love their tangerine juice! I hardly drink juice, but if I'm sick or otherwise under the weather, their tangerine juice really awakens me! They also do samples of their coffees and teas and other food items. Not sure how many of you know this, but Barnes and Nobles sells Trader Joe's cookbooks. There are several different ones, but I love those cookbooks because all of the items in the recipe can be found in a Trader Joe's store! Recipes are simple and easy and it's super easy to find all of the items. read more

Trying to figure out the frozen food section of Trader Joe's. This time, it's fried rice with chicken. The quantaty is for about 2.5 person for the packet. If you accompany it with other food, I think it would be ok, but if you eat it by itself, it would serve 2 persons or less. I had to microwave the chicken pieces because they were chunky to be melted at the same time with the rice. Taste-wise, it was good enough. I would like it better if it tasted more fire-y. read more

I really like this location, the parking is easy to get in and out of and they usually have more stock of their products than the store on PCH in Torrance. From day one of Safer-at-Home orders, this store got it right. The staff has remained kind, respectful, organized and highly efficient. You all continue to impress me weekly. Five stars! In Response to the "Linda F." review from approximately one month ago: Your review is absolutely hilarious considering half the staff at this location are people of varying color, and they are all so kind. If you did in fact experience poor treatment, perhaps provide concrete examples of the discrimination you've endured at this location to Corporate so that staff can be re-evaluated and mandated to attend diversity & sensitivity training, if necessary. Or, try the Torrance location if you're not willing to put in the leg work. It makes no difference to complain about perceived mistreatment if you don't do something to invoke change. With that, I hope you've already taken those measures in an effort to nip this problem in the bud, so to speak. I don't usually have much to say on Yelp, however, this one struck a chord. You yourself come across highly prejudiced, just saying. Speaking of which, give the word prejudice a rest here. Take a moment to consult a thesaurus for synonymous words if you want others to take your writing seriously in a public forum. Hands down the best shopping experience to date. Even with all the craziness going on in the world and right here at home. This whole crew was the best, helping everyone outside keep health and organized, they even handed out a few free rolls of toilet paper. Handed out wipes for your shopping carts and hand sanitizer as you walked in the door. The store was very well stocked, which was a good thing for us because we hadn't been to the store since the out break took place. I really wish there were more neighbors stores like this. This TJ's is pretty standard. The location threw me off a bit as I couldn't figure out which floor the store was located on, and I went all the way to the top level to determine that TJ's was one down and had to go all the way around again. Seems like this location is smaller than the TJ's I usually frequent. But I didn't see that they didn't have the products that we normally buy. The parking lot is shared with all the other stores within this tri-level shopping center. I can imagine it gets super crowded on weekends and don't even want to think about the congestion during holidays when everyone is out purchasing groceries for their holiday meals.
