Hallway going into a room
Joe C.

I stay in hotels often and am familiar with what is standard, excellent and sub-par. The Ramada Pigeon Forge North is most certainly sub par. 1). The siding is literally missing from the front of the building. Let's talk about the fact that a hotel has vinyl siding at all...not exactly standard in the hotel business. 2) The entire hotel, including the lobby and breakfast area is out dated. Many parts including the rooms and hallways are in disrepair. (To be fair, they have a note up in the lobby stating they are remodeling). The room numbers are pieces of paper on the door- I kid you not. 3). Speaking of remodeling, the elevator isn't working because, you guessed it, they are remodeling. How does this exactly jive with ADA? 4). Let's go back to the disrepair. The hallways are missing wallpaper or finished drywall (looks like rough spackle in parts) One part appears to have mold. I'm not saying it was mold because I'm not an expert but see the attached pics. There are chips in the wall. The bathtub/shower was outdated and looked dirty. The entire bathroom was outdated including a very old builder-grade faucet. The landscaping was not cared for around the entire building with weeds at the base of the building. The furniture in the room was old. The tv was old. There weren't usb plugs that I could find as is standard these days, at least by the bed night stand area. The oversize fridge was just placed in the corner with a microwave on top. It wasn't contained in a furniture center as is typical and looked very out of place. Now for the good. 1). The room, outside of being old appeared to be clean. 2). The staff at the front desk was very friendly. Even upon our checking out the same day (we didn't even spend one night) they were understanding and accommodating. The only reason we were booked here in the first place is because someone else booked it. I am a Diamond member at Hilton and very loyal to their hotel brands, because I don't deal with things like this. So could you stay here if it was cheaper and have a roof over your head in an apparently clean room? I think so. Just keep in mind everything else I said above.

Good on night stand, stains on chairs

We checked into Ramada Inn North and put our stuff down and went out to enjoy Pigeon Forge. When we returned later that evening we noticed how dirty the room was. Stains on the floor, chairs, and bed. Food left in plain sight on the night stand and when I went to call, there was a short hair where the receiver gets placed. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because they refunded our money without question, but I would NEVER stay here!!!!

Rocking on the front porch of the Ramada watching the traffic.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Every interaction was genuinely friendly, fun, and welcoming. The rooms are a good size with an indoor fireplace that adds a nice touch and large bathrooms. They have outdoor balconies overlooking the shopping area or river - which was great for seeing nature (geese, beavers, herons). Facilities are nice with a good sized gym and large rooftop pool and hot tub overlooking the Ferris wheel. The roof has plenty of lounge chairs and the chill bar with great staff that will bring your orders (food included) to your chair. The hotel is pet-friendly and has an indoor fireplace-house restaurant and bar (Fins) with an outdoor patio. It also has an onsite Starbucks. While pricey, the amenities, room size, great staff, and location made it worth it! We've already started talking about our next visit!

Head to Gatlinburg and stay at the Margaritaville Resort…read more This hotel has seen better days. We had a basic room with two queens overlooking the creek. The bathroom had a vent with tons of rust, the paint was chipped all over the walls. Beat up and scuffed furniture. The patios were sad and depressing. The patio door was broken and did not lock. The view is "sad creek with creepy parking lot." The hotel also gives a complimentary margarita coupon to guests. We do not drink alcohol. When I went to the bar I asked the manager if we could trade it in for a non-alcoholic margarita or NA beer and they said no, only alcoholic margaritas. How ridiculous! Not even a freaking mocktail margarita! After staying at the Gatlinburg resort property this was a huge let down. We have since learned they are two different franchise owners. Suffice to say, we were going to stay two nights. We paid for two and after one night we left and booked a room at the Gatlinburg location instead. That's how bad it was.

Cleaning staff did a good job. Parking is right out front which worked out well. Walking distance to the craziness on the main drag in Pigeon Forge. They have a nice gym on the first floor. Got there around 10:00 and the room was ready. Great! Got to room and it was pretty small and filthy (table had crumbs/sticky, not vacuumed etc). Went back to the front desk and she offered to switch to same room for no charge or upgrade to a slightly bigger room for $20/night. We opted for that option since as a family of four, more space is worth the cost for us. We got to that room and again, not the cleanest and there was pubic hairs on the bathroom floor which basically sealed the deal mentally nothing good would happen. Because this was a timeshare offer we called them and finally after we left and had lunch they just put us in another room. They did refund the $60 and gave us three breakfast vouchers for each day but even this room was not clean to what "Hilton" standards should be even though the manager walked through the room personally. In the end, this made it very easy to say no to the timeshare presentation as their excuse was Hilton bought the property just a year ago so they aren't all up to standard yet. The lobby was beautiful, the pool area looked nice but my kids said the water was freezing. I would never pay for the $17 dollar breakfast as it's basically the same free stuff you get at every other hot continental breakfast. Basically, you couldn't pay me to stay here again.

If you want a room facing the river, you have to ask for that in your reservation (they have rooms facing the river, and other rooms facing the parking lot). We stayed in a river-facing room, and it was great. Staff were all very friendly and I will most definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises. There are ducks and geese, and we even say a crane in the water. Within walking distance of several restaurants and attractions, right on the main drag in Pigeon Forge.

It definitely delivers on the cozy atmosphere and river views -- and yes, there are plenty of geese to remind you you're by the water! Check-in was seamless, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a nice 24/7 drink bar with instant coffee and tea, plus another bar with juice and tea options during breakfast and again in the evenings (7-10). Small touches like that were a nice surprise. As for the room, it was a good size and overall comfortable. The beds were great, though I did notice housekeeping service declined a bit as the week went on. Towels varied in softness, and the complimentary toiletries were below average -- I'd recommend bringing your own. For a listed 3-star hotel, I'd rate it closer to 2.5 stars. The property is clean and cozy, but for the price point, it could use a few tune-ups. That said, I'd stay here again, especially if you're traveling with family or kids. The pool and hot tub area are nice, and the continental breakfast was fairly decent. Tip: If you're staying on the first floor near rooms 110-120, you might want to request a different area unless you're an early riser -- hallway noise can be noticeable from people coming and going in the morning.

Wowowowow, where do I start?!…read more Pigeon Forge is a mountainous Vegas-like touristy town. There are tons of hotels, some are great and others...not so much. Those great hotels are often going to cost a pretty penny while those more affordable ones are going to be a bit rough around the edges. So where can you stay in Pigeon Forge that isn't going to hurt the bank account while giving you a relaxing stay? Well look no further...Twin Mountain Inn & Suites is excellent AND affordable! I'm a Hotels member and when I saw Twin Mountain Inn and Suites' 5 star reviews, I was curious, especially because at the time, the rates were about $97/night AND pets are only $20/night. Not only that, the room had a river view with a balcony, fireplace, and free parking. Now, I've kept this hotel on the backburner on my account. Last time we visited Pigeon Forge, we stayed at Drury and spent so much more on a "Mountain View" that overlooked the parking structure. So, this time, I decided to go with my instinct and book with Twin Mountain. Boy, am I glad we did!! We stayed on the third floor. Don't let the cover of a book fool you. The parking is easy but can get full pretty quickly, true. However, the room was probably on of the cleanest hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and had good water pressure (albeit, no conditioner or body wash-just a small packaged bar of soap. There were two small bottles of shampoo). There's a microwave and mini fridge in the room. I also liked that there were two sinks, one in the bathroom and one just outside of it (vanity). This was convenient for two people. The AC/heater was powerful, too. The fireplace is timed and creates a cozy atmosphere. The balcony overlooking the river was peaceful and there were two plastic chairs and a little table out there to sit and enjoy the view of ducks and geese. Twin Mountain Inn and Suites is close to the strip but away from the flashing lights and noise. It's a great location! Breakfast is included and had biscuits and gravy, eggs, yogurt, sausage, fruit, cereal, and one waffle maker. There's fresh coffee and a juice machine, too. It was a tight squeeze as it was very busy for 7:30am so I decided to get one biscuit and gravy, two sausages, and a yogurt to take back to the room, which were all very good. There's a drink vending machine outside of the lobby and one near the parking lot. The elevator was convenient and they also had luggage trolleys, too. This was an outstanding stay for one night and I wish it had been longer. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend staying with Twin Mountain Inn & Suites for your next stay in Pigeon Forge.
