I stopped in on a sunny Saturday afternoon doing the rounds in Geyserville to find a new addition next to the Mercury tasting room! Norma, one of the owners of the winery was there serving up the most wonderful blends for only $5 for all the tastings I wanted to try - I believe it was $10 for reserves and I'll do that on my next visit. My favorite by far was Regale, a robust red san giovese. I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe, Norma's husband and wine maker himself - and you couldn't meet a nicer guy. He was happy to speak with me about the wines, and gave me the rundown on the history of the family winery. Customer service is half the experience and I felt like family in no time. We had such a great time at Ramazzotti after visiting their friends at Mercury next door. Not knowing much about wines, they were patient and very enthusiastic to explain to explain their business, and overall very happy to have us. This was a big change from Napa as I felt welcomed and relaxed to enjoy my day in Geyserville. Their super tuscan blend was creative and delicious. Even though their specialty is red, the Chardonnay was also exceptional for its creativity and complexity. Highly recommend for a great day in Sonoma. read more

We had enjoyed a bottle of Ramazzotti Sangiovese at Coppola's restaurant a while back.. and since then this place was on our radar, especially since we love Italian wines. They did not disappoint! We were lucky enough to have Joe as our host and every wine was fantastic! The story of his family coming from Italy and his resulting passion in crafting wines here in CA inspired by the home country is an inspiration for wine nerds like us. We joined the wine club! Very good wines with an emphasis on Italian varietals. Great experience with the owner's sister as the host. She was so sweet and informative. We especially liked the Zinfandel blend which was different than other big Zins we'd had elsewhere. Be sure to walk over from Mercury Wines next door and check this gem out too. read more

This is a must- stop if you're wine tasting in Sonoma! I've been here twice and both times was blown away by their delicious wines. It's obvious that the Ramazzotti family knows wine-they are true artisans. My favorites are the Grenache Noir and the Ricordo zin blend but they're all really good! We felt so welcomed by Marie both times we visited-she's such a warm and lovely person. We had a nice time speaking with Alyssa (Joe the winemaker's daughter) who was very knowledgeable about wine-you can tell wine is in her DNA! We had a really nice time tasting wine this afternoon here. It's a $10 fee which is refundable upon purchase. They lean toward Italian style and Italian varietals. The selection is pretty broad. There are about 15 choices with three whites, and a bunch of reds including a pretty unique port style wine. I'd drop in again. read more

We visited Ramazzotti during 2015 Sonoma Barrel tasting weekend and we were pleasantly surprised. In spite of the crowd, the bartenders were friendly, informative and engaging. The wines were all very good and a great value for the area. On our first attempt to leave we walked out with a wine club membership form (undecided on our decision to join). On the sidewalk we were promptly corrected that we were walking the wrong way with that form and we really should fill it out. Now this wasn't the usual 'hard sell' that you get at most wineries in Napa. The gentleman was friendly and was encouraging us to join purely for his own love of the wines. He then pulled Joe Ramazzotti into the discussion and they decide we MUST go back in a try their Barolo. It was delish. We left with 2 bottles and a club membership. We are looking forward to our first shipment. read more

We love Ramazzotti. They are the real deal, a family that has been growing grapes since my grandfather was making wine in his basement in the Sunset District of SF - they may have actually been his supplier! Their wines are lovely, and visiting the tasting room is such a pleasure. It does feel like being with family, but family that always has just the right wine waiting when you come to visit! Geyserville is such a little treasure that I hesitate to spread the word too much. Great restaurants, wineries, and of course, the mercantile. We'll be back soon. read more

You will find delicious wines here poured by super-friendly and knowledgeable people who are making some of the best Italian varietals available. Although we live in Colorado, my wife and I have visited over 75 wineries in Napa and Sonoma Counties over the last few years. This winery rates among the best. This is a small intimate setting sharing a tasting room with Mercury Wines. For most of our visit, we were the only ones there and got a chance to sample many wines. We liked the 2005 Raffinito Reserve and the 2005 Regale Reserve the best, but also bought the Cab Franc, Cab Sav, Sangiovese and Zin. Great wines at reasonable prices, and wonderful people pouring it. This is one you shouldn't pass up. read more

I was heading to the area last fall and did a yelp search for things to do. I was so impressed with the reviews here, I joined the wine club, wines untasted. I have not been mislead. I often think much of my enjoyment comes from the experience of the visit to the winery, the pleasure of meeting the winemakers and the connection from seeing the process. But I did not make it to the Ramazzotti tasting room. I did not meet the people. I did not see their vines. But I do love their wines! I totally rolled the dice figuring worst case, I serve it to my non-wino friends or pour it as that last bottle you really shouldn't have opened anyway. But I have thoroughly enjoyed each bottle I have opened so far. I will proudly share them and look forward to introducing friends to this great find. I have opened the selection saving what I think will be my favorites for last. If the first bottles are any indication, I'm in for a great treat! read more
