What a company, what service and what an amazing supply of critical iron works and other metal for gates, homes, commercial and industrials building projects. I needed a very modest item: A fence finial...those pointed things that help with security at the top of iron gates and fences. My fence guy recommend this place and so I took some measurements and headed over... From the second I walked in, I found the staff incredibly helpful and engaging. From the front office welcome to the 3 guys at attention to help me in the warehouse....All service/hospitality should be like this! I asked some general questions about what they do, have and can order. The onsite selection/stock was impressive. You can even order large i-beams from here... hummm...intriguing remodel project options... The location also cuts, bends and can assemble various elements for your project. Custom work is their speciality... The guys took me back to their large selection of finials in various sizes and we located the one closets to what I needed. Great. While at the front desk to pay for the item, Nilvia asked me how many I need and I responded, 'Just one.' I was so surprised when she told me I 'could just have it.' I mean, I know it wasn't an expensive item but for reals? How awesome was that? The monetary value aside, I felt like the luckiest guy in town. Another blessing! Both Nilvia and Norima were so friendly and helpful, so professional, it was a joy to have met them and to have learned more about this business. The first was placed on hold for 4 minutes then I called back and told the same person who placed me on hold that I waited for a long time and placed me on hold for another 4 minutes! I have always had a problem of one sort or another when dealing with Ramcast. It is one of the closest metal stores to me, so I keep trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. Yesterday. I went in, ordered 40 ft of a material. they guy charged me for 20 ft, went to the warehouse to get the order, when I saw the guy only bringing me half of what I needed, I told him. he pointed out the guy inside got it wrong, I told him I want 40 ft, so I will go in and pay for the other 20 ft. I went in and told the guy I wanted 40 ft, he told me I said only 20 ft (I didn't), I finally get it worked out, and go back out and the SAME GUY in the warehouse tells me they don't have anymore of that material... why he didn't tell me that before, I have NO CLUE!! maybe he just likes to screw with people! now, here is the thing.... this is typical. i called this morning (8am) to get a written estimate. i asked pablo if he can email it to me and he said taht he would send it right away. a few hours had passed so i called back to follow up on the quote at 11:50am and per grace, pablo was at lunch. she took down my contact info for pablo to call me back. it was 2:30pm i had not heard from pablo so i called pablo and spoke with him. i asked him for an eta on that estimate and he said i haver to wait till tomorrow because he had 4 people in front of him asking for material. do not do business with ramcast steel at this location (los angeles). read more
