This ramen spot is one of my go-tos and I absolutely recommend it if you are looking for not only good ramen but delicious spicy edamame. Spicy edamame is something I always order at sushi and ramen places, and there are a lot of great spots in Sacramento to order it at. This place is honestly top three for me, the edamame is perfectly cooked, very spicy and garlicky, and it never lasts on the table. The ramen is very delicious as well, they have lots of options including a vegetarian option, bibimbaps, and because it is also a Vons Chicken location you can get tasty fried chicken too. My cousins and I always get edamame, fries, and mozzarella sticks to share before our meals. It can get kind busy here but the staff are always incredibly nice and attentive. The place was pretty busy when we arrived and had a family vibe to it somehow. Our server was very nice and seated us quickly. I was a bit confused at first, but I believe this is also called Von's Chicken. The one that caught our eye on their menu was the Honey Butter Chicken, as we've never heard of it before. It came out super quick, within 10 minutes. The skin was so crispy and crunchy, it was crazy. We just inhaled it. The chicken was sweet and salty, which made a yummy combination. My only thing on it was that the powder was poured all over the top, so the bottom of the chicken didn't get coated very well. At that point, my appetite was greatly diminished because of the chicken, but was really hoping that the Ramen was going to be amazing. The broth, which is always my favorite, was very disappointing. It lacked the depth and flavor that good broth should have, and was easy for me to walk away from. The Ramen noodles were undercooked and just tasted more like spaghetti than anything else. I used to rave about this spot when it was a solid 5-star experience, but lately things have taken a nosedive. The ramen broth now feels noticeably watered down and basic. Instead of a rich, well-crafted flavor profile, I'm mostly left with a broth that seems to rely on a handful of cheap ingredients--spinach, cabbage, corn, and bean sprouts. Some of the ramen still includes an egg and chasu but it doesn't make up for the rest of the ingredients that are lacking. There's hardly any variety or depth to it, making it feel like you're just having plain noodles in broth rather than a thoughtfully prepared bowl of ramen. This location is combined with a Vons Chicken, which I highly recommend their Korean fried chicken but the ramen just ain't it. Service is still friendly, and the ambiance remains inviting, but the culinary quality just isn't there anymore. I have a ramen shop that I use as a measure of what a ramen shop should be. And this place falls a little short of that measure. It's good, but not totally. You can come here when you're in the area, but nothing to go out of your way for for a taste of ramen. Service was also a little on the slow side. I came here with my kids and the place was close to packed. With two staff doing the orders and service, they could hardly cope with the crowd. We were seated immediately, but it took around 15 minutes for them to get back to us to get our order. One item of note that you should not miss on your visit is the Ganjang Chicken. My order was ready fairly quickly which was nice since I was on a time crunch and they weren't busy at all. I ordered the Bulgogi Ramen (~$14). This ramen contains a light yet salty broth with beef bulgogi, cabbage, bean sprouts, bamboo, egg, corn, green onion, and dried seaweed. The broth itself was a bit too salty for my liking; I would have preferred a creamy broth but not a big deal! My main problem with the dish was that it was loaded with spinach instead of bulgogi. I mean after all, it is called Bulgogi Ramen. My favorite part of ramen is the egg but this egg was still cold on the inside and barely seasoned. All the vegetables were fine and seemed to be the freshest part of the whole dish. It kept me full for a few hours but it definitely wasn't satisfying. If you're looking for ramen or anything soupy, I would consider going somewhere else. The prices here are okay but I'd rather pay a little more for better quality and taste! read more

So I actually got a chance to venture in and visit this little mom & pop noodle house that is down the street from where i live. My phone did go dead before the noodles came out. The service was very friendly and they make your ramen the way you would want it. I also ordered potstickers and they were gone almost as soon as they got to the table so that was yummy! The place was great if your a giant fan of ramen. It was a bit pricy though. I did end up spending about $30 on a bowl of ramen, potstickers and a coke. For what I got, I don't see how the bill could have gotten that high but that's fine. I guess the place has to stay alive during covid. I may or may not be back due to the fact that I can get a whole bento box next door for under $20. We got the Beef bulgogi bibimbaps - one in a rice bowl and one in a stone pot. The food was quite great and the service was nice too. There weren't that many tables filled on a Saturday evening around 8 pm, ranging from 3 to 4 tables while we were there. The two servers were both attentive and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The bibimbap bowls were tasty, but the only complaint is that they did have a lot of sesame oil in them. The fried egg in the regular bibimbap bowl was definitely better than the raw egg in the stone bowl (the assumption being you let the egg cook inside the stone pot). The portions were normal-sized, but I was able to save some of my dish for later. My favorite part about the meal was the Taro macaron ice cream sandwich. The owner (I think) said it was the best-selling flavor, and because we were so indecisive about which flavor to buy, she recommended that to us. We weren't disappointed. I was initially attracted to this restaurant because of the low prices and wide range of dishes on the menu, from ramen to bibimbap to gyoza. However, I was disappointed that each of the menu items were at least $3-5 more than what was posted online/yelp, so not everything in terms of prices is updated/accurate online. read more

We came here on a weekend day. I Yelped it before and decided to finally try it. Parking was available in the front. It is located on Howe Ave not far from Sac State. We were greeted upon entry. The decor fits. I got a large champon? ramen and so did my two others to share. It was good and had some complexity of flavors and was spicy as I asked for a high level. I liked it. In comparison to the 2 leaders in the 916 downtown, it was good but can't touch the broth and nuisances of those. But it was a very good one. It blows away a ramen in the Natomas Marketplace if that helps you compare.
