This is my go to for Chinese food. It's cheap and delicious and down the street. Came in for lunch right when they opened. We were seated right away as well as had our drinks order ready. We already knew what we wanted so we also ordered our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We got the orange chicken lunch combo as well as the Mongolian beef one. Both come with hot and sour soup as well as a cream cheese wonton. Orange chicken was and always is delicious! It came with a lot of meat and sauce. The Mongolian beef was delicious well. It was my first time trying this Chinese place as the place I usually go to they were closed and on vacation. I walked in and was sat very quickly which is amazing! I see that the place was not busy and 3 tables were preoccupied. I looked at the menu and saw some great options but I always get general chicken, rice and chow mein. I got my food and was okay with the satisfaction of my food. Here's my takeaway: The food came out very quick and that was I not used to. The ladies were very nice but sorta made me order very quickly and felt a bit pressured. I did not mind the place but I felt like I was rushed and wasn't able to enjoy the food and the Ambiance felt decently well. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Food was meh. Amongst my least favorite Chinese food. Although, the wonton in the wonton soup had pretty good flavor and I would consider coming back just for that. Most of the food lacked flavor overall. Service was great! Friendly and quick. They also gave my kids little pop it keychains, which really made their day. My experience would've been fine if I didn't use the bathroom. The door to the restrooms opens to a hallway that has a men's & women's restroom, a door that leads outside and opens to the kitchen. When I went to the bathroom, the door leading outside was open with someone smoking right next to it. The smoke smell filled the hallway and suffocated me in the bathroom, so I'm sure it went into the kitchen. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants their food contaminated by cigarette smoke. So, I would just ask that workers stand further away from the doorway when smoking (I'm pretty sure it's law that you're not supposed to smoke within 20 ft of a doorway anyways). read more

Love that this restaurant has been opened for 14 years. It's a hidden gem in the fair oaks blvd area near the loehmans Plaza. . I had their dinner combo which comes with chow mein and fried rice and entree kung pao chicken for under 15 bucks and even comes with soup too. . I had their mushu pork which was amazing and I haven't had that for in so long. It was the perfect bite that I didn't know I was craving. . Loved their hong kong style chow mein which is pretty like a bird nest and mixed in with all combo meats on top. . Even had their sizzling beef platter but it wasn't sizzling which I was a bit dissapointed. It had great flavor tho. . Their sizzling rice soup is great, if you are looking for a good soup with some sizzle this is a must order. . They have great pot stickers which is one of their best sellers. I finally found a traditional Chinese restaurant which reminds me of the former Kim Hei restaurant that used to be on La Riviera drive. I have been driving by this place for as long as it has been open. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch special with chow mein. First came a bowl of soup then the main dish. The noodles were good and the Mongolian beef was spot on. The price is reasonable. The restaurant was very clean with plenty of seating, The service was excellent. I shall return. read more

The Steamed rice was nothing special it was your typical Chinese restaurant Steamed rice but is definitely better the Pandas express Steamed rice. The Broccoli beef was good. It was not overly sweet and had good flavor profile over all. Its sauce was well made and it was cooked well it only seemed like though that it was reheated when we got it. The sweet and sour chicken was awful for sweet and sour chiken and I could barely eat it. It was anything but sweet and soure it also had a weired texture. I also seemed like it was reheated then had some extra sauce slapped on top of it i would have also thought it was made yesterday. The Kung po Chicken was good it was overly salty and it was tge only item that didn't seem like it was reheated from something sitting for an hour. Overall my experience was but and this may have been due to the time we came which was 5pm. This is also my first experience here but am unlikely going to come again due to the poor food quality. My kid and I recently moved out towards the area and this is by far our favorite quick Chinese food place. We usually order to-go (which btw - food is always amazing & nothing is ever soggy), but yesterday we decided to eat there. Food was still great quality - came out fresh and hot - and service was amazing! We ordered a Mongolian beef dinner plate with chow mein and a side of white rice. It also came with hot and sour soup, and an egg roll. I'm not a super fan of hot and sour soup in general, but it was still good. The egg roll was great too - hot, nice crunchy bite, and great flavor. My kid eats the chow mein and always wants white rice, and I had the Mongolian beef mainly with the white rice. I did try the noodles and they were yummy. The Mongolian beef is my favorite there - the onions & peppers still have a nice bite to them which I love, not overcooked like most places. This place used to be perfect! In reality, most of the food is good, but something happened to the chow main in the last year. Something in the seasoning is "off." I think the recipe has changed - is it fish sauce that was added. I can't eat fish without feeling ill, like a mild allergic reaction. So, I am avoiding the chow mein, chicken or other flavor. I would always order chow mein so I miss it. The lemon chicken would be better if battered instead of breading. Despite lots of sauce, the texture reminds me of frozen chicken tenders. BBQ pork is good. The orange chicken seems to have a lot of garlic. It's mildly spicy but can be ordered "not spicy." The Broccoli beef is good. I think my taste overall has changed, as I don't eat meat too often. I like their tofu dishes. The place is clean and staff is helpful. It's still a good place to eat for most. We ordered take out and it was pretty fast from the moment we called to arriving for pick up 12 minutes. We got the dinner combo with a side order of wontons and egg rolls. The wontons are so crispy and filled really well. They give you a good amount of egg rolls and they are even more delicious leftover if you pop them in the air fryer. The two combos itself was good. My chow mein had too much vegetables not noodles the general Taos had a good kick to it just a little off after taste. Our fried rice was fluffy and the meal just seemed less greasy (in a goood way). This place has time over time impressed me. I've gotten it over 25 times and feel bad I never gave 5 stars. For starters their wontons are to die for but their Potstickers ARE THE BEST ANR BIGGEST EVER!!! These have been a hit to everyone I got them for, if you get food here buy them asap. I ordered the broccoli chicken lunch special, which came with a hot and sour soup and one cheese fried wonton. The hot and sour soup tasted like chicken broth (just stating fact, not a complaint) but was hearty and flavorful (with the exception of a place in Citrus Heights, there is not much in the quality of hot and sour soup in Sacramento). The broccoli chicken was standard....good for a hearty lunch, but nothing to write home about as groundbreaking. The wonton was "pre-sauced" with sweet and sour, so yay for portion control, I guess. The soda was $3.25, so "meh" to that. Overall, a good, standard, Americanized Chinese lunch special. Service: I was greeted with a smile, and refills, more napkins, and payment were handled without me needing to ask. Due to the service, I have upped the rating to a 4. First the good. They have really good chicken fried rice. But that's where it ends for us. This place isn't a good value. The not so good? When you order the chicken fried rice as a side with a lunch plate there is hardly any chicken in it. I've asked on a couple of occasions in my special instructions on DoorDash if they could double check that there is actually chicken in the chicken fried rice and every time it comes with two or three tiny, tiny bits. We also ordered a full order as a single entree and it was okay with more visible bits of chicken but not much at all. Another thing I don't like about this place is that chow mein and Chinese vegetables should include bean sprouts. I asked for extra bean sprouts in my last order because they don't put very much in their dishes. They charged me extra... for BEAN SPROUTS. I think maaaaybe there was 1/8 of a cup of them in my last order and they charged extra for that? I don't think we will order from them anymore. It's ridiculous. read more
