Miso Ramen

As a more vegetarian oriented individual, I am not a huuuuge ramen fan. So trust me when I say this is some of the BEST ramen I've had ever. I was very happy with the spice level and customizations. Without meat, they still were able to get the umami flavors and textures just right. This restaurant does get busy, but is very cute and Japanese style on the inside.

The service was super quick and the Ramen was delicious. I loved how many options vegetarians had normally in Ramen places. There's only one option but over here there were so many options we got seated pretty quickly and the vibe inside was nice, not fancy or anything on the inside just a typical Ramen place

I never finish a meal unless it's a bowl of ramen from Danbo. I knew it was going to be worth the wait when we walked up to a line out the door. Depending on when you go, expect to wait in line for about an hour. I love how customizable this experience is. From choosing thin to thick noodles to the essence of the broth, there's just no way you wouldn't be satisfied with a meal you helped build every step of the way. The ambience is nice and the service is nicer. I 1000% recommend. They also have vegan options!

I was sold once I saw Fukuoka Tonkotsu style ramen. I've had this location bookmarked to visit and finally was near where I was staying. This place is busy both sit down, takeout, or food delivery. During my stay it never slowed for a moment. I was glad to see that the rope lines out front were empty as was able to be seated quickly. Order the traditional Tonkotsu ramen with a Sapporo draft. Service was friendly and helpful. Ramen was quick to my table. No more then I received my draft the ramen followed shortly after. I love the menu choices on broth, noodles, and toppings. Giving folks like me who like a strong broth a chance to order it that way. My only disappointment was that the bowl had a bottom. Yum! Thank you Ramen Danbo I will be back.

Long line but it moved quickly - maybe 20 minutes. The bus stop right in front so it was convenient for us to get there. Service was quick! Excellent quality. Very happy with the pricing too...actually it had the most reasonable prices that we saw in our entire tour of Seattle. I'd visit here again.

Ramen DANBO is a machine-they're so busy they have a hyper-efficient way of lining up and ordering. No reservations allowed! It may seem rigid, but I guess they have their reasons given the huge lines for their Fukuoka-style Kyushu Hakata Tonkotsu ramen. You order by taking a slip of paper and marking down your selections with a pencil. I got their classic ramen with the thick noodles and standard selection otherwise. I also got to try the season ramen (curry ramen) with the thin noodles. They were both so good that I had to get kaedama - another batch of noodles to add to the broth of both dishes to soak up all of the remaining flavor bomb. The classic ramen broth is rich without being overly unctuous. Of course, if you want more, there's ninniku-dare on the table you for you to add. It's a garlic ramen condiment made from a paste of lard and garlic, cooked until barely golden so the bite of the garlic is tempered. The two slices of Chashu are thin so you're not overloaded with pork fat. They're tender and almost melt in your mouth. The curry ramen has a flavorful curry broth (not roux) that the thin noodles soak up like a wick or a paintbrush. The ramen egg has a just set yolk and tender white. I actually prefer the thin noodles as it conveys the broth better (at least, my opinion). I'm definitely coming back.

Ramen Danbo has one of the best ramens in Seattle. The flavor and quality of the ramen is so good and always hits the spot. As a result, unfortunately, the line is usually pretty long. After waiting for about an hour on a Friday evening, I ordered the classic ramen with standard everything. I love how customizable the ramen is. Even though I personally like getting the thin noodles with the standard thickness of broth and flavor of broth, I like having the ability to choose a different option if desired. The service was great and fast. Since the ordering process is pretty straightforward, once you get inside and order your food, there's not much additional waiting needed.

Negigoma Ramen

We waited for about 40 minutes for a table -- there's always a wait. We got the classic and the negi-goma. The classic is a tonkotsu broth and the negi-goma is a sesame and green onion broth. They were good, but nothing extraordinary. It also took a really long time for us to get our food. We probably waited another 30 minutes just to get our ramen. I would still say LA ramen is better, so this place is just ok for me. The gyoza was crispy and tasty though!

Great place to eat, decided to come based on reviews from TikTok. Make sure you arrive during non peak time because it can get very busy. We managed to wait for 25 mins for a spot. But when we were leaving there was a line 3x as long to get in.

Regular Tonkotsu
Steven N.

Ramen Danbo was overall pretty solid. It was my first time back in years since they first opened, and I really liked that the regular tonkotsu broth had that rich umami flavor without feeling way too heavy. I'll be honest though, it didn't totally give me that "wow factor" everyone talks about. The noodles were good, but not mind-blowing--definitely recommend going for the thicker noodles, though. They aren't actually that much bigger, but they have way more flavor and a better bite to them. Plus, it's nice that you can grab an extra portion for only $2. We also got the pork donburi rice on the side, which was honestly the perfect compliment to the ramen. Definitely a reliable spot if you're in the area.

Pork Gyoza
Boon C.

The ramen is about 4.5 stars. One thing for sure they can improve on is the basic ramen. I would rather they charge a little more and include all ingredients for the choice instead of add individually. I like the they can customize the broth thickness, noodle style, and more. We got negi goma ramen. This basic dish comes with many green onions and sesame seed. It also comes with two charshu pork. The noodle and charshu pork are very nice. I have added the ramen egg and gyoza.

Shio Ramen
Steven M.

Loved it as always, the wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday during lunch. My girlfriend got the classic ramen with standard everything and honestly, that was our favorite! I usually love spicy ramen, so the shio ramen was good with the add ons. In total we spent around 38 to include eggs, nori, and some extra Chasu. Inside you'll find table that are side by side and a long bar table top style layout. We'd come back if we were in the area when they're opening. But personally after not coming back for a couple years, there's some decent ramen restaurants for less wait in the area. Worth trying if you've never been, but expect to wait 45-1 hour during lunch rush hour. Maybe longer during dinner.

If I could give this spot 6 stars I would. Was so good I went twice in one weekend during a recent trip to the city. Absolutely delicious broth, up there with the best I've ever had including in Japan. Thin, snappy noodles. Perfectly marinated egg. Incredible richness. The gyoza were top-tier as well. Service was friendly, but they definitely try to turn over tables quickly because the line can get long. Clean restaurant with a good vibe. I really enjoyed it here. So happy we stumbled into this place. I'll be dreaming of this ramen until the next time I'm back in the area. A must try.

Ramen Danbo Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ramen Danbo

Is this restaurant Wheelchair accessible?

Yes

Do they allow pets?

No, only service animals.

Does Ramen Danbo use MSG?

I hope so. Msg is delish.

Do they offer gluten free options?

No - when I called in, their system explicitly said they don't offer any type of GF noodles.

Has indoor dining reopened?

Yes, at 25% capacity!

Do you have dine in now?

Yes

I have been here once before but recently I have had difficulties getting a hold of the restaurant on their phone line. Anyone else having this issue? We called multiple times a couple weeks ago around 6. Are the opening and closing times correct?

Indoor dining is shut down right now so maybe that's why they aren't answering. Pre shut down: they were open for lunch 11 am- 5 pm. But you can still order from them on Uber Eats from 11 am- 10:45 pm now.

Is there any other meat based broth than pork?

Yes - they have chicken and beef as well.

Is there parking?

No, it's street parking.

Do they have a gluten free noodle option? Looks like the noodles are flour based-is there a rice based noodle?

They just started having GF noodles as an option!

Is the broth made from fish oil? I am allergic but still want to try this place and I'm hoping I can get regular broth not vegetarian

If you have an allergy I would DEFINITELY call the restaurant to get a proper answer. Don't rely on random people from yelp. That being said, I believe they use lard not fish oil to make their broth rich. You can customize everything at this place.… Read more

Is the vegan ramen broth nut based? What is it made from?

It is a mushroom based broth. There is a vegan milk substitute added that may be almond milk.

The ramen was incredibly flavorful--rich, comforting, and exactly what you want. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. I also ordered a draft root beer which was honestly so good and a fun change from the usual. We came with kids and they made the experience extra special. The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Personally, I'd prefer the pieces to be a bit smaller, but that's just a minor preference, As well as a real utensils would be nice over plastic. Overall, such a great experience with amazing food, kind service, and thoughtful details. We will definitely be back!

Upon entering the restaurant, all the tables were occupied, and we were told to wait a few minutes before being seated. We only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. The menu was very informative and provided a definition of what aburasoba is. There were also directions at the bottom of the menu explaining how to eat your ramen. Since it was our first time here, we started off with a peach lemonade soda. My boyfriend chose the No. 1, Homura, and I chose the No. 2, Pot Roast. We both ordered a raw egg on top and a side of chashu pork. We wanted to order the onigiri, but unfortunately, they were all out. After about 5 minutes, our food arrived! The presentation was lovely. We took our chopsticks and mixed everything together, just as instructed, then took our first bites, and our minds were blown. The texture was creamy, and the flavors were packed with richness. The portions were perfect, especially for the price. I absolutely loved the experience here and would totally come back to try their other aburasobas. It was so good that I wouldn't even mind sitting through traffic during a World Cup game just to get it again. Until next time!

I think 15 minute wait was the longest I heard. We ordered the takoyaki (shared, one piece each) and I got the #1 Homura Aburasoba with an extra piece of chashu. I didn't add anything to mine for sauces. The takoyaki was nothing special, but I got a nice chunk of octopus. (3.5/5) When I saw the photos online, I thought these looked like decorated Indomie mi Goreng dishes. And that's basically exactly what they are. Reviews say that they're filling, but I wasn't that full after finishing mine. It's satisfying but almost all carbs. The flavor was good and I liked the hint of seafood through the fish powder, but it comes at a price point that's a tad high for me for what's in the bowl. Would still recommend ordering 1-2 extra Chashu though. I tried my friend's Original Aburasoba and the flavor profiles are pretty different, so the sauces and toppings definitely play a role. The noodles do soak things up. It was a cool experience but I wasn't blown away. I would bring people for a novelty dish once, probably wouldn't come back.
