Finally tried this ramen place but don't you just hate it when your order is incomplete!!! My vege ramen was missing the egg which for me is usually the highlight of any ramen! Really? I have been searching for a great ramen spot and to my surprise I found one in my community. The Tonkotsu ramen broth here is rich and luxurious. The flavor is phenomenal. It was really good, the meat was tender and the sauce was sweet and savory. Only downside was that I thought it came with an omurice as the pic on the menu looked like it but it didn't - it was just plain white rice with the udon, some scallions and furikake. I don't think that Ramen Hakata has the best ramen, but I am thankful that they have a vegetarian option. Be careful though because while many of their items say "vegetable," it is not truly vegetarian because it's made with a pork broth. They only have one truly vegetarian ramen. For the vegetarian ramen, it was pretty disappointing. I really don't understand why places put so many raw vegetables in their vegetarian ramen. What about corn, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, anything like that? But no, it came with raw salad greens, cherry tomatoes and avocado (???). It did have tofu though, which I did appreciate. As for the service, I give it a one star. Our waitress only came to take our order and give us our food. Other than that, we never saw her again. I thought I will be really excited to enjoy my food (that day I , and 2 of my brother sister ordered kimchi ramen - one of mine without putting green onion. ).But when I ate it was too salty. Wow! My first ramen experience and it was amazing. I told the nice waiter that my only ramen ramen experience is with the kind we ate in college. He walked me through the basics and suggested I baseline my education with some Hakata ramen with veggies and a miso ramen with pork. He was totally correct. The flavor of our ramen was delicious, the waitress was great but the amount of meat on the ramen was very disappointing. You pay $15 for a plate of ramen that has LITERALLY ONE PIECE OF MEAT as shown in the picture. We ordered 4 plates of ramen and each of the plates only had 1 single piece of meat so I asked a waiter why only 1 piece and he said "that's all the meat you get" so I explained to him how good the flavor was but that we were disappointed about not having a decent amount of meat on any of the plates and he said nothing just left. We spent $82 plus tip, close to $100 for 4 plates of delicious broth and noodles, I would give it 5 stars if they were more considerate towards a client spending that amount per plate, it was disappointing. read more

This place is so amazing. I went with my family for the first time for dinner and from the moment you walk in you feel welcome. The decoration is really traditional Japanese style. There is a nice ramen bar plus both and table seating. The menu is amazing, had a lot of different options and all with picture so you know what you are getting, that is a plus. We started with the veggie dumpling and the spice edamame, you must have this. Really flavor full and not to spicy just the correct amount. New location is very similar to the other locations. Favorites are the cha sui bowl. It's something you can share with family. It's a large portion usually. Our other favorite is the fried tofu. I was really looking forward to trying this place out but unfortunately was disappointed. What was the most disappointing is that the menu is kind of misleading. A lot of items will say Miso Ramen, Veggie Miso Ramen, Seafood Ramen etc., but when you read the fine print they all have pork broth. For someone who doesn't eat pork the options are extremely limited which sucks because if you don't read the menu closely, it looks like there are a ton of options. Over all the flavor of the ramen we had was ok, nothing special at all. The Japanese style spicy fries are not spicy and under seasoned. The shrimp buns lack flavor and could use either bigger shrimp or a couple pieces more. The spicy chicken karaage was good - probably the best thing we had there. Service was ok, nothing special. When we arrived they weren't full but most of the tables were taken and bar area open. We wanted a table so we didn't mind waiting. But the attitude we got was more along the lines of they didn't know how long it would take to get a table so we could wait or leave.
