You order and pay first, then take your number and choose a seat yourself. It's simple and convenient. The owner, Pason, is incredibly kind and welcoming. He's Japanese, and his wife makes the noodles in-house, which makes the ramen even better. The noodles have a great texture and taste amazing. To finish, I had the crème brûlée and a matcha oat milk drink -- both were so rich and delicious. I will definitely be back again!

If eating in grab a number and enter it in with your order. Dining room has plenty of tables for eating. Water and cups are at the bar area for self serve. Food cans out quickly. My companion liked his vegan tan tan ramen. I got the classic menri dashi shoyu ramen. Hard to say what the star ingredient was, both the broth and noodles were excellent. The noodles were hand made and had a great texture and chew. The broth was rich with a depth of dashi chicken and kombu. Taste was clean. Tender thinly sliced chashu, seaweed and greens rounded out the bowl.

My waitress said they had taken them off the menu but there was such an outcry they brought them back. The green beans had a very light coating on them and were delicious I can see why people complained about them being taken off the menu It also came with a trio of dipping sauces. The sweet chili was good but the green onion one was amazing. The bulgogi steak was very tender and delicious.

I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, which is described as coming with egg, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. I specifically requested no egg, no chicken, and double spicy green sauce on the side. Instead, I received plain fried rice with no egg, no chicken, no shrimp, and they didn't include the double green sauce I requested. Paying $15 for what was essentially plain fried rice was pretty disappointing. To make matters worse, the "green sauce" they did include wasn't even the usual spicy green sauce you get when dining in. It looked more like finely chopped green onions than the actual sauce. I also ordered Yaki Udon and requested double spicy green sauce with that as well--and once again, it was missing. It honestly felt like no one actually read my order. They seemed to go off muscle memory instead of following the modifications. Removing the shrimp entirely when I never asked for that just reinforces the impression that my order wasn't checked before it went out. The pickup experience wasn't much better. My order was sitting on the pickup shelf, clearly ready, but I had to flag down the host to retrieve it while a staff member stood just a few steps away. It would take less than a minute for the takeout staff to greet guests, confirm a name or order number, ask if anything else is needed, and hand over the order. The food at Hawkers is good--that's why I keep coming back--but the consistency of the takeout service needs work. Reading orders carefully and giving a little more attention to customers picking up their food would go a long way. Great food, but the execution and service didn't match.

The North Bethesda location is definitely second to none in the JINYA pecking order ( No shade to the DC location ) The ambiance and outside atmosphere takes this location to another level !!! Now let's be honest... the spicy chicken Ramen with broccoli added tipped my tastebuds over board and left me enjoying the spicy broth once all the noodles were gone. This is hands down the best Ramen ( noodles ) presentation and flavored filled dishes you could get on this side of the equator ( And YES I have tasted Ramen from other entities up and down the east coast ) And to my surprise... their non-alcoholic beverages were extremely tasty ( and advertised very well by the server ) Perfect location... Perfectly blended drinks and out of this world Ramen dish !!! See for yourself

It wasn't too busy (we went when they first opened to avoid the crowds) so it was pretty peaceful despite the busy streets. I also love how at this location they give you garlic cloves and a press at the table so I can put ALL the garlic in my ramen. So good!

It's a simple storefront in a strip mall, with a narrow menu focused on ramen dishes. The restaurant describes their dishes as "Sapporo Style," meaning that they could suffice as a main dish and are cooked in a wok, seasoned with roasted garlic and onion. Both of our dishes were from the Specials Menu: his the Miso Tan-Tan Men (with sesame paste, hot sesame oil, bok choy, scallion, ground pork) and mine the Hot & Sour Ramen (with sliced pork, egg drop, tofu, assorted veg and sesame oil). The bowls were entrée size and beautifully prepared. The ramens didn't seem fresh cut noodles, like you may find elsewhere, but the delicious full-bodied soups more than made up for that. Some might find the prices high for considering what you get, especially for me compared to NYC similar hole-in-the-walls, yet when in the area I'd recommend Ren's Ramen. It was totally enjoyable and I'd go back excited to also explore other items on their menu.

Decided to visit at around 5 and the restaurant was almost empty so my table got all the attention. The pork belly bun ($5) was very good. Small but really enjoyed it. Also, the home made gyoza ($7.50) was tasty too! Piping hot! Decided to go for the Sapporo style miso ramen ($17) and loved the broth and noodles. I would say the broth is a bit salty but I enjoyed it. During my time there one person came for pick up and when I left, the restaurant remained empty. It was a weekday so I hope it gets busier then. The only con is the parking. Very limited with only a few spots for all the shops.
