The soup base in the ramen was great and the noodles were delicious, very Al dente and perfectly made. The ambiance was nice, we went a bit later at night; the restaurant was clean and quiet. I went to Ramen Mik as they were newly opened, and I was craving some comfort food. I like spicy so I chose the me so hit Ramen. While the flavor was good, I can't say that it was all that spicy. I even added extra chili oil to it and it took quite a bit before the spice level started to hit. The noodles felt just a tad overdone and the add ins were pretty scarce. I'd have to say overall it was good ramen, not the best I've had, but hit the spot. In Escondido there are not many ramen places anyway, so it's worth going to if you get that craving and dont want to drive to San Diego. This place has been on my social media feed for awhile but didn't get a chance to try it since I'm not in North County too often. I happened to be in the area recently though and wanted to check it off my list. I always get the Karaage at ramen places and theirs is definitely up there in quality. Hot and crispy, and the marinade definitely comes through in the meat with a pleasant background ginger flavor. I got the BST (Black Shio Tonkotsu I believe it stands for) ramen which seems to be a special that's been ongoing. I didn't have any expectations when I walked in here but man this is one of the best bowls I've had in SD county, probably in my top 3. The broth was flavorful but not too rich, and the mayu oil was a great compliment. Slice of nice thick chashu, and a WHOLE egg, which was nice to see since many places either only give you half or none at all (you have to add it on). The unique part of their ramen is the addition of stir fried veggies (cabbage and carrots) which add a really nice sweet component to offset the salty broth. My server was very friendly and efficient and place itself is small but clean and welcoming. It's in a strip mall so parking is easy and plentiful. Very glad I came here. The ramen here was okay. I ordered over the phone and picked up. The restaurant was cute. I had the me so hot ramen and it was spicy and the flavor was okay. I enjoyed that they had great to go containers which separated the noodles from the broth. I've had better ramen. There wasn't much meat and the meat itself lacked flavor. Although the service was average and the dinning area cleanish I wouldn't rave about here. The food was averagely priced for ramen but lacked meat quantity to justify the price. The Ramen its self was ok, again nothing to rave about. But the fact that I got one slice of pork and very limited, if any, vegetables for a whole Raman bowl was very disappointing. For Ramen being in the name of the place I am judging it a bit harsher, since you would think it's the main feature of the restaurant. Wanted to try this place for a while. Came in on a cold windy day. Perfect ramen weather. The place is cute, but small. This won't accommodate big parties. The menu was very simple and a bit limited. We ordered the Me So Delight (with extra veggies) and BST. We got our food about 15 minutes after ordering. The food....Oh boy, where do I start? You get ONE piece of thinly slice chashu that didn't have much flavor. The egg was pretty much a hard boiled egg vs the usual soft boiled. This totally needed to be marinated longer. The veggies. Sighs. I honestly should have ran as soon as I saw stir fried veggies. Like in the veggies you get in chow mein. I ordered mine with extras and that was still a small portion. My bf 9/10 times finishes his and my broth. Yeah, he didn't want to finish the broth at this place. I guess you can't expect much for the price ($15-$16/bowl). But even with that I felt like it was overpriced for what we got. We'll be sticking with our usual. read more

This is one of my favorite ramen restaurants that I've tried here in Escondido! My boyfriend and I have dined here a few times and the food is always hot and tasty. Today for lunch we ordered the Chicken Karaage and Takoyaki for our appetizer and had the Me So Delight and BST ramen for our mains. We definitely will try more of the items on the menu in the future. Our server was very quick, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Tasty High-quality Ramen. Good choices of different flavors, including the medium spicey "Me so hot ramen". Food quality was excellent, and quantity was good sized, filling us up after a soccer match. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. I had the pork cutlet curry and an order of the spicy shishito peppers. The curry was tasty and the pork cutlet was fried to golden crispy perfection. The shishito peppers are covered in a sweet / umami sauce (think eel sauce from your local sushi bar). The peppers mild heat paired perfectly with the sauce and there was plenty of it. Finally I got a bowl of Miso Hot Ramen which I knew was going to be overkill but hey why not. The broth was light with just a bit of kick to it. Wouldn't worry about it being too spicy for the more "delicate" palettes out there. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very timely on table turnover. I went around 3pm on a Sunday and it was still pretty busy. I can see this place getting packed during a lunch or dinner rush. All in all, highly recommend checking them out. Side note: the left over half bowl of ramen I couldn't finish, actually reheated nicely and didn't turn the noodles to mush 5 hours later. Kudos read more

The restaurant itself is cute and nicely decorated. They have this really cool mural on the wall when you first come in. But as for the food, I wasn't impressed. I had the tonkotsu pork cutlet and while it was completely fine and edible. It wasn't anything special. The prices were definitely reasonable for everything you get. I also got the gyoza but again, not great. I'd say overall, the food isn't terrible but I wouldn't come back. There's better places for Ramen/Japanese food. This place is a hidden gem in the Escondido area! I know a lot of people like tonkotsu ramen but please come here and try their miso! I tried miso ramen when I went to Hokkaido last year and I think the taste is very similar. The noodles have a good bite, the broth is more complex than a standard miso elsewhere, and there's a lot of toppings already included in the bowl such as an egg, chashu, green onion, cabbage, carrot, grated ginger and I think ground pork. Not sure if this place needs another review but this place is soooo delicious. We were just driving through the area and I spotted a ramen place close to the freeway so it'll be easy for us to eat and continue to our destination. Plenty of parking and easy to find. We walked in on a Saturday at around 11 am and easily found a table for four. Ambience the decor is modern and clean. We were greeted and given menus right away. We tried the geso karaage, chicken ramen, black garlic ramen and the Hokkaido ramen and all were super tasty and fresh. The geso was perfectly fried in fresh oil as some places the squid comes out in a darker brown color. The squid was not overcooked and chewy so my toddler was able to eat it. We inhaled the ramen bowls. Noodles cooked to perfection. Flavors you can tell were all well thought out and put together. Not just meat garnish soup noodles. There was care putting the menu together and even more cooking it. I'd definitely be back if I'm ever in the area to try the other items on the menu. read more

I want to like this place... but in the end it's a Ramen Shop WITHOUT TONKATSU RAMEN... you know the most iconic ramen base known and loved by ramen goers? It's clean and nicely decorated, especially for the location, but we're here for the food and are getting options like "miso ramen" instead? Is there REALLY a larger demand for Miso Ramen than Tonkatsu? Or are they just trying to make something easier rather than quality? And it has nothing to do with those "alternative ramen/no pork/halal ramen" places that don't serve pork for "ethical reasons" as they do serve a "Tonkatsu Pork" cutlet here... which is just tantamount to a pork chop with something called "Tonkatsu Sauce"... and since they don't actually do the process of making a Tonkatsu base here, nor even have any premade, I can only imagine it's just some generic katsu sauce either brought in or commercial from a bottle. Again, everything else about this place was fine... but we come to restaurants for the food, so if it's going to be a disappointment once we taste the ramen, then it's just all downhill from there. read more
