Phenomenal. Authentic. I've personally been to Hokkaido multiple times and the ramen (especially the Jidori chicken) is as if I was back in Sapporo. We also had the chicken karaage and gedo karaage and it's crispy, light, and quite flavorful. I frequent Menya Ultra and EE Nami and I would put this at the same level for both the ramen and the tonkatsu dishes. The benefit over those places, though, is Ramen Mik has both! I saw this place finally opened up and was excited to try it! When I walked in around 5ish it was pretty dead, which worried me a bit but I sat down anyways I ordered the me so hot ramen and bok choy and It was delicious. Ingredients were fresh and the bok choy was super crisp. I asked about the spice level and the staff didn't know what to really compare it too so I went with my ramen choice anyways lol. I would say the spice level was flavorful and similar to the instant spicy ramen. I liked that it wasn't a dull kind of spice pain haha that you can't finish the bowl type of spicy. I noticed as more customer started to arrive the waitresses kept telling them to "sit anywhere" however it caused people to have it get up and move because bigger parties would arrive and would need that space. My only feedback is predicting when rush hours and at that time to assign guests to their table/ area. It will prevent people from having to play musical chairs and in turn apologizing the customer. Well, I'm disappointed because i really wanted a Go to Ramen place, but after visiting three different times, its clear that consistency and flavor are Not going to be the Standard. Capitalism is killing America and nobody wants to lose, even when they make a mistake! On my last visit, I ordered Vegan Ramen and a special item off the menu of Trumpet Mushrooms! They were only 3 dollars and I wanted to be supportive of the restaurant! But, the Server, bought Zucchini instead of my Trumpet Mushrooms! Now, when I was making my choice she said, she liked the Zucchini and I declared that I wanted to try the mushrooms. The Zucchini were 3 thin quarter size slices of Zucchini cut in half on sticks and that was 2.75, and as I ate a couple of chips I couldn't tell what was special about them and since they couldn't serve those (I made sure) to anyone else. So, when I pointed out to my Server, that I didn't get my Mushrooms, she said, "Well, I ate half the zucchini" now, I'm really glad I ate some LOL, but I stood my ground and insisted that I ordered Trumpet Mushrooms and this is Her fault! She also implied that I should just order the mushrooms again and pay for both items (Capitalism BS). I informed her that I wouldn't be paying for her mistake and I Still wanted the mushrooms I ordered. And, as if I was buying a Car, the Server said, "I have too talk to my Boss, as if I was Buying a freakin car or her boss was going to make me pay! I couldn't believe Dining Out could be this challenging and I really couldn't figure out what I had done to deserve this experience! You're probably real old, if you remember when the Customer was Always Right! Well, I finally got my Trumpet Mushrooms which turned out to be One mushrooms cut into four thin pieces and I thought...Wow, I wasn't trying too break the bank and it had no taste! In fact, my Ramen was made with Egg Noodles and the first time, it was Rice Noodles, which is what I had in Tokyo! So, yeah, I not recommending this inauthentic restaurant. Had high hopes for this place being near me. However, as soon as I walked in it didn't have a good smell. I made my order and right away I noticed a small piece of pork smaller than my palm and the taste of the broth tasted as if it was burnt. Not sure if I came at a bad time, but I saw the kitchen full of people looking like they didn't know what they were doing or upset over something, one that looked like the owner. Anyhow, after several bites and taste of the broth, I had to stop and ask for the check. Nothing special about the noodles. Bill was $17.19 for just the ramen and no drink, which the water tasted bad as well. Sadly, I will not be returning and will continue to make the drive to San Diego for my Ramen. Incredibly delicious I'm a ramen / curry snob...I mean to the NTH degree. The me so delight was amazing as well as the hamburger steak Katsu curry special (menchi I believe it was called). I'd have taken photos but I scarfed the menchi curry down LOL. Kids also loved the Miso (Me so) ramen and my oldest is hard to please as she's particular about her ramen. My wife got the garlic ramen, called BST ramen special, and she was super happy with it. We don't live in San Diego but this will definitely be a must stop by spot when we are in town. So yum :) we've been to the San Marcos location a few times and are stoked to have one in Escondido. The black garlic ramen is my absolute favorite, I always get that, sub the pork meat for chicken, add extra egg. The "Me So Delight" is also really great, flavor is a little less bold, still really rich. The noodles are great, their fried rice is freaking delicious, their chicken karaage is sooo good, Brussels sprouts too.We haven't disliked a single thing we tried. Service has always been good. Place is casual and cheerful :) we hope they have great success! Would like to suggest that maybe if the stinky building smell isn't fixed (you'll grow nose blind to it in 3min), maybe they can try an air purifier? Or leaving the door open. read more

My fiance and I went here today because she had discovered it on Instagram and I'm really glad we drove up to Escondido. I got the "Me So Hot" ramen and it is by far the best ramen I've ever had. From the first sip to the last, it was rich in flavor and an appropriate amount of spice, and not too salty. Noodles are made fresh and you can taste the difference. Highly recommend eating at this place when you're craving ramen. The customer service is amazing as well, they really care about you. He ordered the Me So Hot, and I tasted the broth and it was rich, the noodles perfectly cooked, and every bite was unforgettable. I ordered the Tonkatsu and it was to die for, as well as the onigiri! The customer service was exceptional--warm, attentive, and genuine. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner/chef, who was incredibly kind.
