Pretty decent ramen spot overall. The broth was rich and flavorful, and that's honestly the most important part when it comes to ramen--and they delivered on that. That said, there were a couple of things that took away from the experience. First, the presentation of the food wasn't very appetizing. Taste-wise it was good, but visually it could definitely use some work. Second, I really dislike it when servers don't write down orders. Our waiter didn't, and then came back to ask what we had ordered, which was a bit frustrating. Not a bad spot by any means, but with better presentation and smoother service, it could be a lot better.
The place is cute and cozy tucked away behind another japanese restaurant- Parking a little challenging since the area has quite few restaurants. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. We order the one was recommended and they were pretty good. The garlic pork rice bowl pretty decent portion and they are so tasteful. We closed up our Friday night dinner with Free Strawberry Ice cream
We Love this Ramen place. The flavors are delicious and never had any problem with servers. We get seated right away and even when we are waiting, it takes no more than 20-30 minutes. My children love this place also and always ask to come back for more. Prices are great but I do with they add more toppings to the ramen.
I saw that Ramenkoko was top 100 ramen place on Yelp. It happens to be in Highland near my in laws. I had to give it a try. I ordered online. They open right at 5 p.m. The earliest pick up time was 5:15p.m. At 4:57pm there was already one person waiting for it to open. They opened at 5:01 p.m. He said that my order should be right up. It took about 10 minutes. I got the spicy tonkatsu. It was so good! It definitely had a kick but not too bad. The soup was rich. Her was a good amount of pork belly. I added the 2 eggs and I'm glad I did. I would definitely get this again.
Ramen = 3/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance= 5/5 This was my first experience here. I want to give recognition to the solo server. She handled orders, served, and lightly cleaned the restaurant as she went. Service and restaurant ambience and cleanliness was a solid 5/5 here. I tipped for this alone. The ramen, however, while quite delicious overall, I found the broth to be a bit lacking in flavor... but everything from the egg to the meat, even the bamboo (which I don't normally take into account) was quite delicious all things considered... hence the odd 3.5 rating. Perhaps I'll order with add-ons next time to raise the broth flavor to my liking. Overall a 4.3 out of 5. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.
First let me start by saying someone recommended this place to me so I thought I would give it a try. I noticed when I arrived that there were people waiting outside but I was seated rather quickly since I was alone. They did a quick clean on the table that was still pretty wet when I was seated and smelled like fabulouso. I ordered the pork Gyoza pan fried to start and it took awhile to come out. The presentation was beautiful but they were extremely cold. The waitress said she didn't see them up there ready and asked if I wanted them remade and I agreed. When they arrived back to the table I noticed that it was actually the same plate of Gyoza that I sent back with one missing. All they did was slightly warm them back up but the middle was still cold! I then ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork and added chicken. The broth was pretty good but they forgot my chicken. When the chicken was brought to me it was cold also. At this point I was ready to just be done and leave the restaurant. I waited 30 min while watching the waitress serve everyone around me but not coming to my table. Again I started smelling fabulouso and seen that indeed the tables were being cleaned with it and that alone gave me such a headache. The waitress blamed it on someone calling off today but this was just unbelievable. I doubt that I will be back.
We came here Friday 02/07/25 around 5:30pm and it was already a full house with dine in and orders pick up. There were 2 kitchen workers and 1 waiter. The waiter was by himself doing dine in, order pick up and taking phone orders. It was overwhelming but not once did he showed it. We sat down 20 minutes later and didn't place an order 30-35 minutes after seating. Took about another 25 minutes to get our food, appetizers and ramen came at the same time. The owner came around that time and he was on the move! Getting orders out asap. Besides the wait time the food is always fire. Next time I'll come 2-3 hours after evening opening.

Absolutely Delicious!!! Middle of the week and this was a great option to order! My family and I had gyoza, chicken karaage, fried calamari, takoyaki and lots of Ramen!!! The Spicy Miso was my favorite!!! They were very quick and the food was super fresh. I appreciate the receipt showing all items to help us out identifying our food! read more

We found Ramen Koko right around the start of the pandemic (October 2020) and have dined in a couple of times. Service has always been great and attentive. Also, the single occupancy restroom is modestly decorated, well-stocked, and clean. Today we ordered to-go and when I arrived for pickup, the order was ready to go. My husband enjoys the original tonkatsu ramen with straight noodle and pork belly. I tend to go between the spicy tonkatsu and Tokyo tonkatsu (includes black garlic oil) depending on my mood. Portions are a good amount and very filling. The broth is thick and unctuous, like a pork broth ramen should be. While prices have gone up a couple dollars for all the dishes, the quality of the ramen noodles and broth have stayed the same. I'm about 25 minutes drive from Koko but prefer their soup & noodles to the closer ramen shops by me anytime. read more

I stumbled in here because a place nearby was busy. SUPERB ramen! I got the creamy vegetarian ramen with spinach noodles. A lot to choose from in the menu for a good price. The broth wasn't too salty and the toppings were cooked well. The broth was hot and fresh. The place has nice music and lighting. Service was really good, the waitress was friendly and checked up on me often. Really enjoyed the flavors also, I'm impressed because it's great ramen for the IE. I've lived in the Bay Area and other places, this was pretty dang close to some of the bowls I've had at well known ramen places. read more

No specialty drinks or traditional tea, but who cares, the ramen is bomb. Apparently they cut the pork belly different now but I had the Tokyo bowl. Portion size is large and definitely add the bamboo shoots to it! Yum!! read more

The spicy miso soup is very flavorful. I love the decor on their wall. It looks the place is very clean as well. Service is very fast and kindly. I truly recommend this place because I drive 40 minutes to have my taste buds have a party with their amazing food. read more

Delicious! Would highly recommend, I was feeling under the weather and wanted Ramen. I am new to the I.E. and decided to look up places nearby and take a chance. The food was amazing, came out quick and the customer service from the hostess was great. At the time of my visit, you could say it was a full house. That did not stop them from providing exceptional service The overall interior design was great as well. Classic movie posters all over the inside in frames, good music at good volume. Nujabees was playing as I noticed the Akira anime poster above me. Spicy Miso Ramen I added Corn and garlic 9.3/10 Chicken Karaage was delicious 9.0/10 Will definitely be coming back! read more

I was driving on my least favorite street ever, Alabama Street (that miserable one-lane stretch between Highlands and Redlands in particular that is always fisted with traffic no matter the hour, i think the platonic ideal of a bottleneck), when I realized that's actually not so far from RamenKoko, so I decided to go for lunch. The parking was fairly easy due to the power of strip mall parking ("ah so this is spiral, I mean suburban power"). Ramen in the United States is always weirdly expensive (it's usually considered a cheap-ish food in Japan) probably because all Japanese food in America is weirdly expensive for bizarre reasons that says more about us than the food. But as far as pricing goes, the ramen here was fine, pretty cheap by USA standards. The restaurant is small, so I could see a long wait if you came at a popular hour like Friday night. I however, came at lunch, so there was no wait. I decided to order the Tokyo Tonkotsu because it was advertised in a lot of tables and seemed interesting and unique. You can order with straight noodles, curly noodles, or spinach noodles. I usually prefer straight noodles. You can also pick between proteins, but I always pick pork chashu so I didn't listen to the other options. The ramen came out at an absurdly quick pace, I think only a few minutes, which means they probably had the broth simmering and ready to go which is pretty cool and really great to know for lunch (in case anyone has to head back to work like I did). The straight noodles were chewy, which was a good sign that they know what they're doing. The Tokyo Tonkotsu actually wasn't that unique, it was just tokotsu with extra soy flavoring and toppings. That being said, tonkotsu is pretty good (and usually what I get), so no complaints here! The bowl was deceptively large. I wasn't sure if I was going to be full at the end of the meal, but I kept finding more space in the bowl somehow, like it was connected to a different dimension (plane of ramen D&D sourcebook when). The egg was also pretty cool (their ajitama) where it's cooked on the outside but gooey on the inside. Very much enjoyed my meal - will be back the next time I feel like ramen! read more

Been coming to this place since they first opened and have never bothered to post a review till now. This place is straight The portions, price point, and flavor is outstanding. The spicy tokanatsu with pork belly is my go to. The green tea ice cream is solid . The owner is a great dude. It's the closest ramen joint to me and I love it read more

The chicken was sweet and spicy with a caramelized goodness, kind of like a combination of karage and Korean fried chicken all rolled into one. Pork gyoza was on point. They have a lot more than ramen and their ramen is the best in the Inland Empire. read more

Got the Spicy Miso Ramen. The flavor was good, the right amount of spicy was in it. It comes with an egg and I ordered an extra one. I was a little thrown off by the egg not being cut in half, however the flavor was ok. The noodles were good as well. As an appetizer we ordered calamari.... Flavor was just ok, semi crispy on the outside and the inside was like chewing rubber. The dipping sauce was good. The service was good. Greeted at the door and we did get checked on enough. The ambiance wasn't bad. Good music and location was clean. Nice little hole in the wall place. Definitely will be going back and definitely recommend. read more

I don't even like eggs, but they do some magic to their's! The broth is nothing short of comforting and rich. The chasu melts in your mouth. It's all perfect! Also highly recommend the karrage as an appetizer. Juiciest bite of chicken you will ever have! read more

My family and I arrived during the middle of the week for dinner. It wasn't busy at all. We got seated and served right away. We all got spicy tonkatsu ramen and pork bowls. The food was soo yummy! The right amount of spice and sauce. The service was quick and the waitress was patient and friendly. The place is clean and inviting. There's movie posters on the wa are in Japanese and they look so cool! This place is in a place amongst other restaurants There's plenty of parking, too! read more

We have heard from a friend that this place is bomb. We came to see for ourselves and we are happy to see that it is true. The ambience is surprising nice. From the outside you would never know how sweet it is inside. It reminds me of little tokyo. And from the inside, you get to sit and have a view of the mountains. The service was pretty nice too. We were ordering takeout. I would suggest always offering the menu to customers because you never know if they are brand new. The menu wasn't easily assessable. This is my only suggestion for improvement. Everything else was excellent. Will definitely come back. read more

We haven't been here in ages. The weather is so chilly lately that eating ramen would be so nice. Ordered ahead and by the time I arrived the food was prepared. 2 tonkotsu with wavy noodles and pork belly 1 veggie creamy soup with wavy noodles and chicken. The veggie creamy soup was a bit salty, but then again I usually don't add too much salt in my cooking. The wavy noodles and chicken was on spot. My family devoured their ramen so quickly because they love it. We'll probably be back for more since it's so cold. Employees here are very friendly and great with service. The reviews are certainly honest and in no way overstate the quality of this place ! Our server was so kind and considerate of our first time being there and made great recommendations and details about the items we were considering getting. The spicy miso broth they had was delicious, with a generous amount of noodles to ensure a consistently satiating bite. The edamame was seasoned and cooked amazingly as well ! And the gyoza is a deliciously honorable mention. The music was not too loud , but enough to maintain a comforting ambience while you eat. The seating and lighting also don't fail in providing a safe environment for your meal in whatever occasion. I would just say pay attention to their hours as they close mid day before the night shift, but no complaints ! I look forward to eating here again. read more

I always forget to write up a review for this amazing restaurant and if course always forget to take lots of pictures of the food but this place is amazing! I used to be completely against going out for Ramen when, well, you can make some at home for less than $1... but it just isn't the same and this restaurant showed me how good REAL Ramen can be. This is a long one but definitely worth it. 1. The service: The service here is always A1. The staff is friendly, attentive, and very kind. They are always patient and are happy to answer questions (we had a few our first time there). They give great reccomendations when you are not sure what to tey and don't make you stupid for having questions. 2. The atmosphere: I was soooo shocked to see the awesome movie posters that are hanging throughout the restaurant. I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan and they have a really cool poster of The Grand Budapest Hotel among some other amazing films. It is a smaller restaurant with limited seating but if you ever have to wait, it is definitely worth it. 3. The food: The food here is just delicious. Amazing. The prices are reasonable and I think they have something that everyone in the family can enjoy. Rice dishes with pork, crispy chicken, goyoza (try the pan fried. Crispy on one side but delicious and perfectly soft on the other) and of course, Ramen. Even a picky eater can find something here. Although the menu is limited on its choices, what they do offer, they make with love. The Ramen broth is amazing and the pork that comes in the Ramen is delicious. If you can, I recommend adding extra (it's an extra cost). They offer a choice of wavy or straight noodles and they are both good. I got the straight ones and I loved it. Portion size of the Ramen is big also. Overall, this is the place to go for Ramen, even if you are not in the area... it is well worth a drive and waiting to he seated. 10/10 must try. read more
Ordered through yelp for pick up and the service was great. Purchased 3 spicy tonkotsu ramens and 1 regular tonkotsu ramen. The family ate the spicy ones and really liked their ramens. My mom even asked me for the name so she could go back for more ramen. I had the regular tonkotsu so my review is in regards to my ramen. The pork they use is great, I actually liked the pork better than most ramen places but the tonkotsu broth was just okay. I feel like I have been to a few other ramen places and their broth had a richer flavor than this broth. This isnt to say that its not good, it was good but I was missing depth from my broth. read more
I was happy to see a ramen place close to Redlands, since there aren't too many in this area. I finally decided to try it tonight. I called in my order and the lady on the phone was professional and pleasant. She told me it would take about 10-15 minutes to prepare my order. When I arrived, I was greeted by the friendly staff, and my order was ready just as I paid. I ordered the creamy vegetarian ramen with chicken and standard wavy ramen noodles. The broth and toppings were packaged nicely for takeout. The broth was nice and hot even though I had a 10 minute drive home. The overall flavor of the broth was nice; salty and creamy with flavors of sesame and ginger. The toppings were nice as well. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, and the veggies were surprisingly crisp. The noodles were tender and cooked perfectly. I just wish I had asked if there was an option to add spice, because the ramen was not spicy at all. Next time, I will ask if this is an option. read more

Was really craving ramen and decided to give this place a try. Service was great, food was good. They didn't have any eggs for the ramen which is fine but wish they told us that before we ordered because I would have gotten a different ramen. The edamame was my favorite part, the flavor was amazing. Will definitely try this place again. read more

What are the noodles made of? Any Rice Noodle options? My gf has a gluten (wheat) sensitivity.
