Pretty decent ramen spot overall. The broth was rich and flavorful, and that's honestly the most important part when it comes to ramen--and they delivered on that. That said, there were a couple of things that took away from the experience. First, the presentation of the food wasn't very appetizing. Taste-wise it was good, but visually it could definitely use some work. Second, I really dislike it when servers don't write down orders. Our waiter didn't, and then came back to ask what we had ordered, which was a bit frustrating. Not a bad spot by any means, but with better presentation and smoother service, it could be a lot better.

The place is cute and cozy tucked away behind another japanese restaurant- Parking a little challenging since the area has quite few restaurants. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. We order the one was recommended and they were pretty good. The garlic pork rice bowl pretty decent portion and they are so tasteful. We closed up our Friday night dinner with Free Strawberry Ice cream

Literally the best soft egg I've ever had, 10/10 ramen so good I'm even writing a review. So good I almost called to thank them personally

We Love this Ramen place. The flavors are delicious and never had any problem with servers. We get seated right away and even when we are waiting, it takes no more than 20-30 minutes. My children love this place also and always ask to come back for more. Prices are great but I do with they add more toppings to the ramen.

I saw that Ramenkoko was top 100 ramen place on Yelp. It happens to be in Highland near my in laws. I had to give it a try. I ordered online. They open right at 5 p.m. The earliest pick up time was 5:15p.m. At 4:57pm there was already one person waiting for it to open. They opened at 5:01 p.m. He said that my order should be right up. It took about 10 minutes. I got the spicy tonkatsu. It was so good! It definitely had a kick but not too bad. The soup was rich. Her was a good amount of pork belly. I added the 2 eggs and I'm glad I did. I would definitely get this again.

Ramen = 3/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance= 5/5 This was my first experience here. I want to give recognition to the solo server. She handled orders, served, and lightly cleaned the restaurant as she went. Service and restaurant ambience and cleanliness was a solid 5/5 here. I tipped for this alone. The ramen, however, while quite delicious overall, I found the broth to be a bit lacking in flavor... but everything from the egg to the meat, even the bamboo (which I don't normally take into account) was quite delicious all things considered... hence the odd 3.5 rating. Perhaps I'll order with add-ons next time to raise the broth flavor to my liking. Overall a 4.3 out of 5. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.

First let me start by saying someone recommended this place to me so I thought I would give it a try. I noticed when I arrived that there were people waiting outside but I was seated rather quickly since I was alone. They did a quick clean on the table that was still pretty wet when I was seated and smelled like fabulouso. I ordered the pork Gyoza pan fried to start and it took awhile to come out. The presentation was beautiful but they were extremely cold. The waitress said she didn't see them up there ready and asked if I wanted them remade and I agreed. When they arrived back to the table I noticed that it was actually the same plate of Gyoza that I sent back with one missing. All they did was slightly warm them back up but the middle was still cold! I then ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork and added chicken. The broth was pretty good but they forgot my chicken. When the chicken was brought to me it was cold also. At this point I was ready to just be done and leave the restaurant. I waited 30 min while watching the waitress serve everyone around me but not coming to my table. Again I started smelling fabulouso and seen that indeed the tables were being cleaned with it and that alone gave me such a headache. The waitress blamed it on someone calling off today but this was just unbelievable. I doubt that I will be back.

We came here Friday 02/07/25 around 5:30pm and it was already a full house with dine in and orders pick up. There were 2 kitchen workers and 1 waiter. The waiter was by himself doing dine in, order pick up and taking phone orders. It was overwhelming but not once did he showed it. We sat down 20 minutes later and didn't place an order 30-35 minutes after seating. Took about another 25 minutes to get our food, appetizers and ramen came at the same time. The owner came around that time and he was on the move! Getting orders out asap. Besides the wait time the food is always fire. Next time I'll come 2-3 hours after evening opening.

Forgot and left me on hold for over 15 minutes...

    Will this restaurant reopen?

Yes! we definitely will! We have closed for a staff vacation and will be back on the 23rd of August. Thank you! 🙂

What are the noodles made of? Any Rice Noodle options? My gf has a gluten (wheat) sensitivity.

Hi Patrick. Unfortunately, at this moment we don’t offer gluten free noodles, but we are definitely looking into having gluten free options in the future. Thanks for checking us out!

The noodles are made fresh in-house, and you can really tell from the texture -- they had a great chew and held up well in the broth. The tonkotsu broth was rich and flavorful without feeling overly heavy or greasy. The chashu was tender and well-seasoned, and the soft-boiled egg and wood ear mushrooms rounded everything out nicely. I added a little chili paste for extra heat, and it worked perfectly. The Spicy Garlic Edamame was much better than I expected for a side dish. The edamame was cooked just right, still firm and plump, and coated in a flavorful garlic sauce with a nice kick. We also ordered the Gyoza, which had a beautifully crispy bottom and juicy filling inside. Simple but very well executed. The Pork Rice Bowl was huge and easily shareable. The sweet and savory sauce paired really well with the rice, making it a great comfort-food option alongside the ramen. Overall, everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and the portions were generous. Definitely a spot I'd stop by again if I'm in the area.

Less noodles at my request. (I don't eat a lot of noodles). Me, humming a tune after tasting the broth. The broth is AMAZING!!! So full of flavor I just could not get enough! The service was good. And I guess because it was slow, I got lucky! The cook came out and asked me how the food was. I told him how much I loved the broth and that the noodles are made in-house. We chatted for awhile, such that I felt I could tell him the one area that could improve and he not be offended. So I told him how other Yelpers mentioned the meat wasn't tender but chewy. And I agree. The pork was overcooked. But since I was there for the broth, it didn't bother me. Looking forward to winter soup cravings so I can enjoy Ramen Jo again!

Ordered a chicken teriyaki for the kiddo, and I swear, the chicken tasted like it was cooked yesterday, and reheated today. Miso soup was luke warm. Tell me this, how is it they can't even get the rice right? Literally one of the most important components of anything sushi? Ngl I think they're using regular rice and the water:rice ratio is off (too much water); and on top of that I don't think they even put vinegar or seasoning to create the sushi rice. Anyway sushi rolls come to the table and the waitress walks away. Then she candidly realizes, omg they might need plates and sauce trays (!). We were lucky enough to get them finally and by a miracle of god, could now begin eating. The rolls were mediocre at best, and only seemed decent when drowned in sauces, to mask the textures we're used to experiencing in sushi. The crunch roll (one step above the most basic roll) tasted like the panko was old (either that or the oil used was terribly old). The eel was decent, and I think the scallops are making my stomach hurt rn. This place has come a long way, and not in a good way. You can tell it's about to shut its doors any day soon. Whoever Mr lee is could give a rats ass about this establishment. Atleast under Mr yu it was running well, inviting and decent enough to be called a restaurant. Clearly the result of greedy/stinginess. Can't tell which is more dominant here but I can tell you this much, I'll never come back.

The fish tasted fresh, portions were good, and everything came out pretty quick even though they were busy. Every time I see reviews saying they've improved, I give them another chance hoping maybe this time will be different, but it never is. The fish, especially the salmon, just doesn't taste fresh to me. I wouldn't necessarily say it smells bad, but the flavor is off almost overly salty and it doesn't have that clean, crisp, fresh taste I expect from sushi. They also consistently skimp on the spicy mayo, and I really dislike that they mix it with eel sauce instead of keeping the sauces separate. The ginger is always mixed in with the wasabi too, which is frustrating, especially because some people may have sensitivities or allergies and don't want everything touching. The miso soup portions are another issue. When ordering through DoorDash or for pickup, the containers are barely filled, yet they still charge around $3-$4 for it. The prices are not cheap, so after three separate attempts, I expected much better quality and consistency. I genuinely wanted to like this place and kept giving it another chance, but at this point I can't justify ordering from here again.
