Had Open Kitchen bookmarked for a while and finally Door-dashed some today! We ordered their Hunan beef and General Tso combination with egg rolls, white rice and hot and sour soup, along with a full-size order of their Open Kitchen chicken (which was my favorite) and vegetable chow mein. The amount of food was enough for two people and a bit extra for another meal. Everything tasted fresh and was very flavorful, except for the hot-and-sour soup, which wasn't my favorite. This restaurant came highly recommended for a coworker. After ordering and arriving home we fixed our plates to eat. I started noticing all of what is considered filler in the restaurant business inside of the food ordered. I ordered kung pao spicy beef had a lot of bell peppers ( Red&Green) and onions, along with peanuts. It was not even spicy! Sure glad I'm not allergic to peanuts since they didn't mention that on the menu or when ordering. The cream cheese wontons were frozen not freshly made. They were hard along the ridge of the wonton from freezer burn. The spring rolls were very tasty! The portion of rice served with the Togo food is incredible small. Everything this fanatically seasoned and the staff are very nice. What you won't get is a gourmet experience, but they definitely make up for in flavor. The Chicken was flavorful and had a nice crunch. The egg roll and soup were hot and delicious. The rice was bland and lacking flavor. (Fried Rice) If Im being honest the duck sauce was despicable I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!!! Other than that the meal was amazing.
