    Ghee Podi Masala Dosa
    Manit D.

This is my fave dosa spot lowkey may even be better than Mylapore. I ALWAYS get the Ghee Podi Masala Dosa. All their dosas are benne dosas and so soft like pancakes and taste good too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if u haven't tried already!!

Decent new place in Fremont, serving the usual South Indian fare. The menu is standard, while the emphasis seems to be on some fare from Karnataka. The Special Thali with Poori is a good ensemble of dishes, South Indian style. Most of the items were good even if some were higher on the salt quotient. The Ghee Masala Dosa was good, but on the thicker side. The accompanying peanut chutney and coconut mint chutney were nice. The sambar was on the sweeter side and not to our liking. Service was quick and the food arrived fast despite a decent crowd Seating is spacious and the ambience is nice. The dining area and restrooms are clean.

As others have said, this is a hidden underrated gem for good South Indian breakfast dishes. Tried them on thanksgiving day, and while short on staff the food was delicious! This place is must try for Karnataka style breakfast. The sambar felt authentic and reminded me of Udupi restaurants back home and the preparations like Puliyogare, Benne dosa, and Uddina Vada are a must try. The special open dosa disappointed and wouldn't try again. The restaurant is a "hole in the wall", further away than most Fremont restaurants but a must visit.

This is such an underrated restaurant! They have the best Bangalore style masala dosa in the bay! It has the perfect texture with crispy outside and every bite melts in your mouth. It's the perfect size and price, with enough room to try their other dishes. We also love all their other dishes, everything is so well flavored, balanced and good quantity. We always leave satisfied and wanting to try their other dishes. Also love the decor touch in the restaurant with facts about the food they serve and homage to different places in Karnataka. Very cute designs too. My parents like this restaurant so much they come almost every other week and travel over 20 miles just to come here. Definitely a good comfort food place!

Tried out this place because I wanted to get passport picture at Walgreens, find out their machine was down. so couldn't get my passport picture! Walked in and sat down. Told waiter my order of masala dosa $7.95 and mango lassi $3.50. Dosa is small, and comes with 2 chutney: coconut and peanut, and sambar. Sambar is spicy! Dosa was ok. Help yourself to water at the fountain in front Left-side. One unisex bathroom in the back. Throw your trash after eating in the back. Charged it. Pay after eating, I almost forgot!

TLDR : Great food, quick service, simple ambience We tried Rameshwaram Cafe for the authenticity and loved it. The sambhar was great (a little less spicy) and the peanut and coconut chutneys were amazing. The open masala dosa was spicy and loved it. The filter coffee was great as well. Overall good for a quick and simple meal.

The Tatte Idli here is among the best I've tried, and the coconut chutney is excellent. The sambar is good, and the rava kesari is delicious and melts in the mouth. I haven't tried the famous benne dosa yet, but the uttapam was very tasty. Cozy place with quick service, and the prices are affordable for the quality.

Rameshwaram Cafe opens where Zam Zam Grill was. The adjacent space is the dining area. Specialty is South Indian vegetarian eats Offerings: steamed idli's, South Indian bites. Breakfast, dosa, drinks Drill: order at counter, pay, food brought to table of ur choice. Note: only wooden spoon utensil available. Metal forks & knives not used. Most patrons use hands.. Eats: masala dosa (7.45) -made with fermented rice & lentils, mixed with water. Makes a thin crispy pancake. Filled with potato masala, onions, podi, & cilantro. -dipping sauce of cilantro peanut chutney, coconut red chutney, sambar makes it yummy. *eat by breaking off part of dosa, dipping it into sauce. Uddina Vada (3/$6) made from black gram, mixed with water. Fried. Crispy & crunchy donut shaped. -nothing exciting, plain taste enchanced by same chutney, sambar that came with dosa. Drink: chai (1) -small portion of chai, smooth..skipped sugar. 3.5 stars quick, courteous service. Music in background similar to religious chants..

We are spoilt for South Indian tiffin choices in the Bay Area that a place like this that serves fairly good food is still not rated 5/5 Karnataka sambar and chutneys (mint, peanut) were the standouts for me. Everything else was good, but I've had better. Anyhow, I want to come back again for their breakfast specials - chow chow bath, bisibelabath and Puliyodharai & I hope to enjoy them more than I did this.

Parents and I tried Rameshwaram Cafe today. Very tasty, yummy and fresh food. Open special masala dosa: this was really yummy, like benne dosa soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, thick yet soft and fluffy. Topped with masala potato, crunchy onions, special podi and cilantro. Perfect combination we loved it. Santha bonda : so unique. Besan flour mixed with onions cilantro chilli deep fried crisp to perfection. 5 pieces. Good price and great quantity. Very filling. Uddina Vada: this was alright, nothing great. Typical vada. Hot crispy and crunchy. Filled with pepper corns. The cilantro peanut chutney was and The coconut red chutney were both yummy additions to the tiffins. Service is quick. Ambiance is very neat and clean. The owner and the person at front desk were courteous. Must visit. PS: they are not a branch of the famous Bangalore Rameshwaram Cafe.

Glad I tried this place before I read the other reviews here! We went just a few days after their launch and I have to say their kitchen seems to be running at full speed. We ordered the vadas, the masala dosa, the Uthuppam and the special open masala dosa. Also had the filter coffees. The prices are lower than the average compared to other restaurants in the Fremont area and the portions are decent. All dishes were freshly made and very flavorful. The green chutney and sambar were both excellent, but since I don't really like the peanut chutney and didn't taste it, I can't comment on it. Service was more than adequate and the eating pace was clean and bright. I've added some pics for reference. I don't know why some reviewers are angry at this place, but I'd suggest that South Indian food lovers try this place and make up their own mind.

Their dosa, idli and vada reminded me of the Bangalore darshini style foods. Very tasty, crisp and sumptuous. Highly recommended!

Great food, generous portions, and a hidden gem amidst the roadwork!…read more I've actually been here before, but the first time around I was so hungry I forgot to take any pictures! This time, my camera ate before I did, ha! Here is a breakdown of what we ordered on this visit: 1. Steamed Chicken Momo: These were perfectly moist with an adequate, well-seasoned filling. Plus, their signature orange sauce never disappoints! 2. Mixed Fried Rice: This came loaded with eggs, chicken, and veggies. Unlike some places where the veggies feel like an afterthought, these tasted fresh. The portion size was great, flavorful and more than enough for two people. 3. Chicken Sizzler: There is nothing like hearing that loud sizzling sound when food is brought to your table! I initially expected it to come with fries and veggies, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it served on top of a huge bed of noodles. It was incredibly tasty. My only minor critique is that the menu just lists the name of the dish without a description. While I could have asked, it would be helpful if the menu explained what the sizzler entails, especially since their other menu items have descriptions. The Perks & Ambiance: Free Tea: A wonderful touch! They offer free, unlimited aromatic hot tea for dine-in customers, served in cute little espresso cups. Service & Seating: There is plenty of seating available. The service is prompt, though you might occasionally need to wave them over to get their attention, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker. Parking & Access Tip: There is ample parking in the complex, but getting to it can be a bit tricky right now due to the ongoing roadwork on Fremont Blvd. From the street, it almost looks like the restaurants in this plaza might be closed, but don't be fooled; they are absolutely up, running, and well worth the visit!

It is a very small shop in a plaza. 1 They are on the higher price end,$2/samosa. most items are $12-$15 each but the amount is small enough to fit into little brown to go containers. 2. Many customers were here to get to go. Another (Indian woman) and I ( non-Indian) woman was here to get togo and we end up waiting at the tables for time to pass. They gave the woman a cup of tea, but nothing for me. which struck me as uncomfortable and awkward 3.They do not accept credit card( most likely due to possible avoiding taxes/fees), despite the exorbant pricing of the items itself. I had no idea until I was at the cash register. They either took cash or Zelle. 4. My momo tasted fine, with a decent amount given to me, BUT the skin was not fully cooked,so I had to recook it at home, I was lucky that i bought take out. 5 My tikki masala Paneer was literally mostly salty curry soup with 5-6 peices of paneer, it was so scarce that it looked like it there was almost no paneer left, the item should be labeled ( tikki masala) that's it since there is barely any panneer in there. Lastly, since you do not take credit card, your items prices are much higher than places such as Chaat Bhavan, etc. The tikki masala was very salty with sparse paneer peices, please do not be cheap with your customers, and make sure to fully cook your food. This is one of the honest reviews with photos for this place. Thank you.
