Wife ordered fish & chips...which was good. Manager stopped by table to apollo for the slow service knowing that we needed to be done. Took half off of our bill without us even asking. If you're not comfortable getting up close and personal with strangers, this may not be the place for you. Rams Head has that small English pub thing going on, complete with narrow staircase leading to a basement bar and pewter mugs hanging from the ceiling. They have one of the best happy hour deals in town, with FREE (yes, that's right....free!) food from 5-7 during the week and a different theme each day, along with pretty decent drink prices. For example, Mondays are Mexican fiesta days with free tacos from 5-7 and $2.75 drinks. Tuesdays are seafood nights, with free oysters, shrimp, or clams from 5-7.....you get the point. Mondays will also get you a full 1/2 lb lobster dinner for only $20 (includes baked potato, corn on the cob, and a salad)......where else can you get that? They've usually got some kind of live music in the restaurant section, but you can also catch a show at Rams Head On-Stage, which is connected. On-Stage is 21 & over only, and they feature a wide range of musicians from local artists to nationally recognized performers. Ticket prices will vary depending on who's playing and how well known they are, but you can find some great shows in an intimate setting. read more

Went to the Rams Head this past December for the holiday parade in the harbor. Glad to have had reservations. We were seated right on time. Service was prompt and helpful navigating the beer selection and the menu. The crabby tots were a great start. The tots themselves were great and covered with a rich crabmeat laden sauce they were a hit. I had the Fordham Brats and Mash. The sausage was exceptional and the plate was well laid out and each element complimented each other. Well cooked it was an enjoyable meal. Look forward to coming back! read more

My Husband and I went to brunch over the weekend on 10/11. My Husband Loves the Rams Head and has talked up the brunch forever so we finally decided to go. Unfortunately it was the worst dining experience I have ever had. It started out with a server greeting us with a wad of candy in her mouth. after taking our drink order another server came up to us asking us if we order yet and just saying "What do you want". After we order the food takes 30 min to get to us and the server walks away without giving us utensils or the toast and coffee we ordered. after a full 15 min goes by and no one came back I got up to talk to the manager. I told her that my eggs are cold now and we didn't have anything to eat the with. She says she will fix it and goes back to the kitchen and actually microwaves sunny side up eggs! The eggs were so overcooked and we never got the coffee or toast. My Husbands French Toast just tasted like regular bland toast. The all you can drink Bloody mary bar is also a sham when the server never comes to refill your glass. It was really a shame that my husband felt so bad after speaking so highly of this place. read more

I " was" a regular here we came a few times a week as we live close by and can walk. I have to say something has recently changed. The wings are much smaller. The shrimp is horrible. And the crabcakes now taste like white mush. The food quality since our visit this week. Was great however when we were there on Thursday night I can not help but think that something major has changed here. Guess we will be finding a new hang out. This is our favorite place in the area! Happy hour (4-7) has free food, and drink specials. The outdoor patio is great in good weather, especially when the flowers are in bloom. The World Beer Club allows you to sample 100 beers from around the world. read more

Arrived at about 1:45 on a Sunday, got seated with the Brunch menu that runs until 2:00. By the time we were waited on, the brunch menu was done so after our order was taken, they brought back a different menu to place a different order from. They offered a $10.00 Bloody Mary bar but it was mostly taken down by the time we got the glasses and all they had was celery. DO NOT GO to the bar area! Go to this bar if you want to sit in a library-like atmosphere and talk in hushed tones. This is a bar that belongs in a nursing home. My recent experience here was infuriating. After having a great dinner in the restaurant, my friends and I were talking to each other in the front bar of the building and catching up after years of not seeing each other. An older woman sitting at the bar told the bartender we were being too loud. We told the woman - politely - that she should have been reasonable enough to approach us directly and ask us to be a little less loud before she made a scene. The bartender arbitrarily believed her and told us to leave -- without listening to us. The bartender (who was wearing glasses on that day in early September) got within inches of my friend's face -- extremely unprofessional and borderline harassing -- when he told us to leave. When a family member inquired why we had to leave, the bartender lied to other staff and said nudity was involved! What a shameful lie to tell just to get us to leave! It was very disrespectful because, just minutes before, I had paid hundreds of dollars to host a dinner there with a large group of family and friends. Compare this to a woman who had paid for a few drinks at the bar! I've never been to bar where talking out loud is looked down upon and where the bartender lies and is so quick to judge. The food and the restaurant service were excellent, but beware of having a good time in the bar! Unfortunately, we won't go back for dinner because we might see that bartender! read more

First timer - had dinner before the show. We sat outside and the atmosphere was really nice. Order a $7/glass of wine, server brought me the $10/glass of wine stating they ran out of the $7/glass. I accepted it figuring I'd be charged the $7 and not the $10 - I thought wrong. The server not very attentive - had to ask for the waters to be refilled, brought lobster dinners without melted butter and had to ask for it. Butter came more solid then melted. After using what little they brought, we asked for more and this time around it tasted like salad dressing but server didn't come around for so long that we just ate it without the melted butter. Order the Lobster special - well worth the money and surprised since we were in a touristy area. I'd go back though. We did the Premium Onstage Package and never rec'd the complimentary Fordham beer or $2/drink of choice. read more

I was at Rams Head Tavern twice in April, 2017. The service was friendly both times, but the kitchen is unreliable each time I was there. What do I mean by that? Saturday brunch I requested powdered sugar instead of syrup and fresh strawberries with my beligan wafflehey had run out (they had substitute fruit) They didn't bother to let me know this ahead of time and my waffle arrived bare - not even butter. That said, the waffle was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! My bacon was not hot either, only room temperature; our food came only luke warm both times I was there. Sunday brunch is a lot more busy, and I ordered the steak. It came out undercooked, but they didn't hesitate to make it right. If you are wondering why I give the place 4 starts, it's because both times I was there, the food tasted great when I actually got what I asked for, the ambiance was lovely and relaxing (especially the outdoor patio - we didn't feel rushed or crowded for space). It was easy to eat there on a Saturday morning - no wait, and Sundays is busy but not overwhelming like some places. Great choices of entrees and friendly staff. You can make reservations here if you desire, which makes things convenient. Overall, I do recommend the place and will go back for sure. read more

I've been going to Rams Head for Happy Hours all the time in their patio area. Today as usual I went straight to their patio area for HH because it's the first nice day out. We were sitting there for 15 minutes without anyone even coming by to check on us or offer us a menu. We had to go to the front bar area to get our own drinks. After 20 minutes, the waiter came by to give us the menu.... Then the bill came with the full price whereas it's supposed to be half off for the food (appetizer) items. It was just then that the waiter told us he was told HH is only in the bar area!!! So if you recently changed your policy, why didn't you tell us in the first place? We were caught by surprise at this sudden change and this left us a bad experience. They should be consistent and have posted signs/staff clearly indicate and explain HH. So beware, ask your host/server for HH or any special deals before you order! read more

I went here with 3 girlfriends recently, for a girls night out. This place was really fun! There was an awesome, laid back atmosphere. I was able to wait at the bar and watch sports while the rest of my party was stuck in traffic; both the bartenders and patrons were super friendly and chatty, so I felt welcomed. When we finally sat down for our meal, the server was right on point. He responded promptly to our needs (and for a group of ladies, you can imagine the amount of requests)! For apps, we had the lobster hushpuppies and calamari. The calamari was tasty but the pups (in my opinion) were too spicy- although the rest of the girls demolished them. I had the tropical salad- field greens with salmon, mango, sunflower seeds, and a vinaigrette; it was to die for! Additionally, as a root beer lover, I have to add that the had Dominion root beer on tap, so I was a happy girl. For the beer lovers, I did notice that they also had a large selection of craft beer on tap. For dessert, I had the turtle lava cake; huge portions and so decadent! Would I return here? We chose Rams Head for dinner due to we had a concert to attend at Rams Head Onstage that evening. An additional bonus to convenience is that you get 10% off of dinner and your parking validated with the performance package. Unfortunately, our dinners fell short of mediocre and we were very disappointed. We both ordered the Ribeyes with mashed potato and asparagus. Initially, the presentation was decent. The Ribeyes were thin but, for the most part tender with some grisly chewiness in some portions. There was virtually no detectable seasoning other than the char from the grill and the mango salsa on top. It was cooked to order but had very little flavor. The mashed potato was very dry and bland. No creaminess or seasoning. They lacked butter, milk, salt and pepper. They tasted much like the inside of a plain russet baked potato smashed on the plate. The asparagus was cooked to al dente but, again the only flavor was the char from the grill. Our dinners reminded us of something that you would get at a diner or chain restaurant (not of the highest quality or not expertly prepared) but, at a much higher price. Please keep in mind though that the prices are not reflected in this review. Even though the standards should be higher to equate with the prices. The service was pretty good and the waiter seemed pretty well trained in communications and customer service. However, he seemed to be flitting about quite a bit and we were kept waiting for longer than usual at times. For happy hour there were two types of wings available (buffalo and old bay) if you order an alcoholic drink (the waiter gives you tickets). The wings were also mediocre at best. On the other hand, a highlight was the peanut butter pie for dessert. It was creamy, indulgent, rich, and decadent. Needless to say, Rams Head for dinner is off of our list of choices while visiting Annapolis. read more

I have visited this venue many times over the years because it has a nice, intimate music venue and its not general seating. Last Saturday, my wife and I went there and had a meal before the show. The place was busy. It took 15 minutes for the server to show up at our table (ok , busy), another 15 minutes for a cup of coffee and an iced tea to arrive (not great). She took our order which included a cheeseburger and fries and a vegetable/rice dish. A runner showed up 30 minutes later with the food. The vegetable/rice dish was lukewarm at best and the medium burger was inedible as it was so over cooked, plus, cold fries. We never saw our server again. Didn't check on the food, refill beverages, etc. Couldn't get a shaker of pepper. Finally, a different server took an order at an adjoining table and we asked him to get our bill. I told him about the burger and he took it off...no sorry about that. The bill arrived and they had double charged the other meal. Another correction. We went to the venue and that server was ill and not very happy to be there. When the show ended, it took 30 minutes to get a bill. Why, we were told they couldn't find any print paper to run the credit card. All-in-all, bad food, bad service and oh yes, it was an unusually poor show for the Rams Head. read more

Wow, this was just bad tonight. My husband's fish and chips came with ice cold chips. My dynamite burger was drowned in hot sauce. The waiters kept slamming into our table as they rushed by, spilling our drinks without a thought. My place setting was missing a fork which took them almost 10 minutes to bring me as my food got cold. Then we got a piece of key lime pie that had never seen a lime. Really a sad meal. read more

I got the special of the day-lobster grilled cheese. It sounded better than it tasted, missing a bit of something.But quality of the food was good. Ram's Head has become a key part of the Annapolis dining and entertainment scene within the last two decades. Good food, well-served in large portions, but the beer is the big draw here. Until recently, they made their own brews on site, but still make their own beers- now, offsite. Beyond their own, they have a diverse and high-quality beer selection. If good bear is your thing, this is your place in Annapolis. In good weather, they have an excellent outdoor dining area in the back. Perhaps best of all is a music venue that draws diverse and excellent talent in most every genre. Very small and intimate, there are fee poor seats in the house; as a music venue, it has only one flaw- dancing is discouraged. read more

Worst restaurant experience ever! We were a table of 8 for brunch. No one came over to our table for 15 minutes. Ordered and our food did not come out for over an hour. We were told they everyone had been waiting and the kitchen was backed up in a rude tone. He went and checked on our meal and said ours was next to come out of the kitchen. Ummm. 10 more minutes and no food. Some guy came over and said it would still be a while. Ummm. We arrived at 1240. It was now 215. We left and went to the Mexican spot across the street and that meal was great! read more

Very professional Dylan, the bar man, served me up an EXCELLENT wintry dish of grilled brats, homemade cooked sour kraut, homemade mashed potatoes, and gravy. I am a professional chef of French cooking having lived in France for 20 years, and my hat is off to my brethren in the back for this simple, well concieved and executed fusion of continental tastes. Dylan's recommendation of a Copperhead Ale paired perfectly. All in all, a very fine, non-sandwich (finally) lunch! read more

Went to Annapolis for the weekend and was excited to try something yummy. I had walked by Rams Head Tavern and thought the atmosphere looked nice and the reviews had looked good online so I decided to go eat there for dinner with my boyfriend. Once we were seated I realized the place was nearly empty around what should have been the dinner rush...that was the first warning. Once we were seated I noticed that the staff seemed bored because they were goofing around in a group behind my table. We looked at the menu and noticed they had a nice large selection for drinks at a very good price. We decided to share two dishes, the chicken wings and the chicken and waffle sandwich. When the food came out I immediately looked at the chicken and waffle sandwich and knew that it was going to be bad. The waffle was VERY under cooked and can be described best as floppy...and the only thing between the waffles were chicken and some kind of gravy sauce. It was a very sad dish. I took one experimental bite and knew I would not be able to eat this food. The waitress did not check in with us one time and after 15 minutes we had to flag her down, which was crazy considering there was only ONE other table of customers. I had my first experience of sending food back. I will say that the honey sriracha wings were very good and in place of the chicken and waffles I ordered a veggie burger that had some redeeming qualities. The waitress did return to tell me that the cook had agreed with me regarding the under cooked chicken and waffle dish which was nice to hear, but it was disappointing that the chef had even sent the dish out in the first place as it was $15 and essentially inedible. I will probably choose a different restaurant next time I am in Annapolis. read more

This review is for the treatment I received from the concert ticket office. I bought tickets to go see Los Lobos on 20 April, a few days after I bought the tickets (which were bought back in February) I received word that my son was going to graduating from Air Force Basic Training the same day in San Antonio, Texas. As soon as I got this information I called the ticket office to see if they could work with me. I was continually given the run around. I was told I would be put on a list in case the show was sold out, I never received updates, I had to keep calling right up to the date of the concert, so I was out $165. Not a small amount when you are talking about funding a weekend trip to Texas to see your child graduate as an Airman. When I came home I tried calling corporate where again given the run around. I was told they would follow up with ticket master to see if they could get me my refund or a credit for another show. I never heard back and I tried several times to make contact, with no response. I tried contacting ticket master, they told me since tickets were bought through a third party (RAMS Head) that I was basically SOL. Terrible customer service, terrible corporate management, no empathy. Spend your money some place else. read more

My party of eight, which included a wheelchair, was there last Wednesday night and we did not have reservations. The hostess was a bit put off that such a large party didn't have reservations, but she seated us promptly and we had a great dinner. Good food, fast and courteous service, decent prices! I would recommend this resaturant to just about anyone. read more

Good musical artists and good food. However the "room " arrangement needs work. While the room is not large, the stage is off to one side and there are many vertical columns which could obstruct one's view. A temporary fix could be large flat screen televisions in the far corners of the room. read more

I've probably been here seven or eight times over the last 18 months, and previously had no serious complaints. My girlfriend and I came here on our first date, so it always had a special place in my heart. But after the extremely poor service my party had today, I don't know if I'll ever go back. It's a shame, because I've spent hundreds of dollars in this place and probably would have spent hundreds more over the coming months. First off, the young female waitress acted like she was either hungover or didn't want to be there. When one member of our party (who has celiac disease) asked if they had a gluten free menu, the waitress looked at her like she was stupid before telling her they don't. Everybody in our party noticed. We also had two children with us, and when my sister asked what kind of juice they have, the waitress replied, "Uh, this is a bar." We waited quite a while for our food, and then the waitress didn't come back to check on us until we were all pretty much finished. Most of us sat with empty glasses for much of the meal. When we finished eating and paid our bill, we handed the restaurant's copy of the bill (with a tip that was more than 20 percent) to another hostess who was working the desk because our waitress was busy. But as we were walking out, we heard our waitress ask her coworker "How much did they leave?" for a tip. It was as if this waitress (she never did tell us her name) had an issue with us from the moment we stepped inside. If I knew her name, I'd call the restaurant and complain directly to a manager. The girl has no business working in the service industry. To have the cajones to ask her coworker how much we tipped as we're walking by her is ridiculous tacky. It's a shame one terrible waitress can ruin a restaurant for an entire family. read more

We visited the dining room after a tasting at Blackwater Distillery. It was a great finish to a nice afternoon. The food was FANTASTIC! We had the crab dip over tater tots and the appetizer was so large and delicious the three of us could have stopped there. But we didn't. We also had the crab cakes which were all crab and no filler hardly at all. DELICIOUS! And the pork bbq sandwiches. YUM! Everything was perfect although the service was a bit slow even though there were only about 6 tables with customers (maybe because it was a holiday weekend and they gave the staff time off?). Anyway, it didn't matter that it was slow because the food was so good. This will be our go-to restaurant from now on when we are traveling across the Bay Bridge to the beaches! read more
