This place is awesome. It's as local as it gets in terms of ownership, staff and customers. Great bar, great food, great weekly specials, bartenders, servers, etc. A personal favorite of mine is their SUPER SALAD. It always has fresh seasonal toppings, add your protein of choice (fresh fish of the day?) and it is the best salad in town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's better to go there in good weather when you can sit out around the patio and look out at the townhouses overlooking Back Creek.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's fun that everyone knows about Davis Pub but it's still hidden. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yes, I've pulled up and docked from my dinghy a few times. Yes, I've tumbled in with a crew of racers after a day of sailing. Yes, I've just walked there. And walked there. And walked there. Yes, Davis' is open 7 days a week and filled with longstanding locals at the bar. Yes you can bring your dog to the patio. Yes, it's family friendly in the back part of the restaurant and on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their steamed shrimp is the best: loads of onions, drawn butter and a lemon. Their french fries truly rock. I don't know why I love them so much but I think it's because they are just the right amount of somewhat thinly-cut and crispy. So if there is ever a question as to whether to get a basket of fries, get them. Love the hot dogs, burgers and whatever their daily specials are. Truly there is no better place to get a burger in all of Annapolis and it's the best kept secret. They use Angus beef. Their crab pretzel is an indulgence. Their wings are awesome, as well. Two things I've never had at Davis: salads or their crab cakes. For a pub, they do have an awesome salad choice: the Pub Superfood salad has kale, brussel sprouts, carrots, broccoli, green and red cabbage. You can also order other salads and add chicken breast, buffalo chicken strips, grilled tuna steak or filet mignon medallions. There are around 6-7 pours of drafts available, cans of beer and cider and a nice selection of wines. I don't know if you can get orange crushes here. There is the full bar of liquor, as well. People are friendly, here, but the naptown local contingent is strong. So unless you're showing up regularly, it's not easy to chat freely. The local patrons all know one another and are good folks who basically live at Davis. Like if you were about to fall over at the bar, one of them would catch you and hold you up. They might not say much to you, but they wouldn't let you fall. If you're not laughing, I probably still am. It's an old salt thing. So, if you want a good meal or just a day of heavy drinking, this is your place. read more

The crabcakes are Perfectly balanced with a crispy exterior with a tender, flavorful center The ratio of crab to breadcrumb was spot-on, having just enough bread to keep it together, unlike many places who put too much breadcrumb in their crabcakes. The boiled peel-yourself shrimp were Cooked to perfection, they paired beautifully with melted butter and a generous sprinkle of extra Old Bay, and extra old bay on the side. Both the crab and the shrimp were fresh, cooked simply but really let the seafood shine. Service was brisk, even on a bustling Tuesday evening. While the place was packed, our food arrived promptly. The ambiance is quintessential pub: casual and inviting, ideal for kicking back with a cold beer. I love this place. I have been twice. Once with my dog and once with my husband. The outside seating is dog friendly and they have a doggie menu. During busier times the service is rather slow (unless they were shortstaffed that day). I don't go enough to know their patterns. Just docked the yacht and heard that Davis Pub was the local pub to go to for the local experience. Decided to take my four legged friend because the Davis pub has a dog menu. It took a long time to get a seat but when we sat down it got better. Deano's choice was a hamburger and I chose the fried pickles and the pulled pork sandwich and the loose cannon IPA. I like this little spot in Eastport. Came for dinner and was happy to see them respect social distancing and staff wearing masks. It was about a fifteen minute wait. They had seating inside and outside. The service was excellent! Really nice and they came by several times to ask if we wanted more drinks or anything else. It's pub food done well. The crab pretzel was good. Not pretty but lightly spiced with Old Bay, cream cheese and cheddar on top. I had the meatloaf special with green beans cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes. Hubby had gumbo so delicious. I liked the gumbo so much that I scooped some of the sauce onto my meatloaf- The brown gravy and the mashed potatoes were awesome. We licked our plates clean. This is an iconic pub that's been here for a long time . Go for the atmosphere and pub food. I got a crab cake on crackers that was a good size , but tasted a bit weird, like not terribly fresh. Came here years ago and came back because of the hometown neighborhood feel. The side street where the restaurant is located is blocked off for outdoor seating. Ample amount of tables and spaced out enough for social distancing. We were going to sit outside but it was getting chilly at 4pm so we chose to go inside. There's a host area outside to assist with seating. Once inside we got to choose where we sat. All the high boys were taken so we sat closer to the back by the kitchen area. The waiter told us where it would be warmest. Once seated it took maybe 5 minutes and we were waited on. Due to COVID, the restaurant has the QR code for online menus. There are also alcoholic beverage options written on a board on the wall. Here's what I ordered: -Quirk Strawberry Lemon & Basil Seltzer: similar to a White Claw but this was really good. Sneaks up on you because it tastes just like a regular sparkling water. Not much alcohol flavor, which I enjoy. Will definitely order again. -cup of Maryland Crab Soup: not enough lump crab for me. Mainly thin pieces of crab meat. Loved that there were a LOT of different vegetables in it; Lima beans, peas, corn just to name a few. Very hearty and filling. Wish it was a thicker consistency so I would probably not order again. Good for what it was though. -Crab Pretzel: every time I get this I am in awe! This is sooooo good! Best appetizer they have on the menu. Love the compliment of the cream cheese with the crab and the seasonings over the pretzel. Veryyyyy good. It's a staple to get every single time. And comes with 2! -Buffalo Cauliflower: I love it when veggies are disguised in yummy, crispy buffalo sauce. These were fantastic! No hint of cauliflower taste with all the benefits. The size of the cauliflower was perfect. Will definitely order again. Only ordered a few appetizers but was very satisfied. Hopefully next time I can get past the appetizers and venture out to the main menu. I called at 130pm & was told they offer order pickup. Matty( or Naty?) took my 2 Corned Beef & Cabbage Platter orders for pickup @ 430pm. I recd a phone call at 415pm advising the specials were sold-out & told orders are placed 20 min before pickup. This is unacceptable service. They could have held 2 orders back for my order & did not consider that option. No apology or other option provided. Our dinner plan was ruined. read more

Davis' Pub is NEVER empty. Why is that? Because the food and people you'll find inside are beyond impressive. Great staff in the kitchen, serving tables, and at the bar. Been here with friends and family and it has never disappointed. In the winter when it's cold out, you might have a short wait for a table, but in the summer there is lots of outdoor seating. Stopped here for lunch and is what it is - pub grub. I had the crab soup and it was loaded with veggies and a hint of crabmeat. I did taste good but don't expect chunks of crab meat. I then had the Crab Balls which were good - made of crab flake, so no crab chunks. My wife had grilled chicken which she liked. They gave me a plastic glass of Pinot Grigio which I thought was good for $6 - better than most places will charge. We ate outside and it was a delightful day - there are only about 6-7 tables so if you want outside, best get there early. We checked out the inside and guess what - it looks like a pub! Still the same old neighborhood pub in Eastport. Reminds me of a lot for the corner pubs in Europe but the restaurant and food is far more expanded. Plus their niche dishes, crab cakes and bar food.
