My coworker has been here before and said it was a good place to eat, so we came here for lunch today. It is an interesting place for sure. There are old license plates hanging on the walls and the whole place is made to look run down, I guess to adhere to the theme of this place being ramshackled. The menu was pretty simple American food. I got a reuben which was really good. The fries were frozen and kind of greasy, but the sandwich was great. We also had some fried mac and cheese for an appetizer. I wasn't too impressed with it. It was Kraft mac and cheese, so It wasn't homemade, and it didn't have much taste. We got seven little triangles for $7, so it was a little pricey too. All of the servers were nice and the place was packed as hell. I would probably go back. I would get something besides the fries as a side, but the reuben was really good. read more

Ramshackle is old we sat outside by traffic. The place packed. We set down tell the waitress to clean off top of table because it's sticky. She tells us that just the way tops of tables are. They from the 1970's and that's it. We order from paper newspaper menu and wait for foods as a million Harley Davidson and huge trucks drive right in front of us. Finally food comes big amazing looking hamburgers and fries. I sit them on top of my paper menu because tops of table from 70's sticky and wow they taste great. Pretty cool place. We got there a little before opening time and they were gracious enough not to kick us out. I had the Mexican pizza. Let's just say everyone else raved about their food. So much could be done to make this better. Anything with "Mexican" in it's name should come with sour cream....not charge you $.79 more. Just sayin. They should allow for half stars, I would say a 3.5. It isn't bad, decent basic bar & grill type food. I have been here a dozen times or so. Nothing really stands out on the menu. I had a Cuban sandwich today, it was good but wasn't pressed, most cuban's I have ever had were pressed; it wasn't a bad sandwich though, a lot of meet. We needed to stop before lunch, had a little more time than usual, so instead of a Subway, decided to drive until a place jumped out st us. We can up to Ramshackle Cafe and the place looked very busy, so we decided "what the heck"! Walked in, pretty small inside, low ceilings covered in different license and plates, which I thought was pretty cool, but a table had just opened up so we sat down. Server came over right away and got our drinks, the 1/2 and 1/2 tea was very good, and opened up the menu. Surprisingly large menu with lots of choices, from soups and salads to quesadillas, all kinds of sandwiches, wraps, burgers and some seafood dishes. I'm kind of a Reuben snob, so when I saw it, had to try it. It was delicious, very flavorful, really good corned beef, plenty of kraut and Russian dressing on thick rye bread. It was a handful, pretty messy, just the way it should be! If you're looking for intimate atmosphere, keep going. If you want some really good food and great service at reasonable prices, Ramshackle Cafe is the place to be in Leesburg! read more

Never again...... We just moved to the area so we are trying out all the little places around and haven't been disappointed till now. I asked the waitress if they had mojitos and that's when it's started. She looked at me as if I was a alien and said no they have beer. ( whatever that's fine) . Then we order the "sampler" and it's missing the cheese curds,( again not a big deal) after the food came out to the people that sat after us we finally got our food. I ordered boneless wings with carribean jerk sauce. I tried half of one cause it didn't look right...and it wasn't it was some teriyaki sauce. I asked for the manager cause at this point to many wrongs there has to be a right. I tell her I was given teriyaki wings and she tells me " it's a teriyaki sauce with jerk seasoning,It's not like real jerk from the islands" ...R U KIDDING ME!!! They advertise "killer wings" yet think that carribean food taste like Asian food.....i ended up going to KFC for at least some decent wings... The manager thought taking off the meal (that I didn't eat) and the appetizer was the right thing to do.....no it's not I didn't ask for it.....we ate the appetizer but to look me in the face n say ur carribean wings is teriyaki sauce....IGNORANT. it should not b put on a menu as a carribean jerk....its a teriyaki sauce with some pepper.Staff is rude and not knowledgeable about there own menus.......never again. read more

Just to be fair, I'm giving a 1 star for the poor customer service. We came to this restaurant a few minutes ago. We ordered food, the food was good actually good,no complaints about that, and our waiter Jimmy was AWESOME!! What went bad is when seconds after we got out of the door- literally seconds- a lady threw out a full boxed meal that we had to go. We spent over $70 mind you (Yeah not that much but still good for this little town). I had went right back, and asked one of the waitresses if we can have it replaced, she said she'll speak with a manager and supposedly the manager said they can't replace the meal--even though they were the ones who threw it out. I have been to many restaurants around the world, if someone forgets a meal and you see them getting out of your door- walk a couple of steps and give them their meal. Don't throw it away and refuse to replace it. Those tacos that probably cost them 2 bucks to make are taking great customers away and giving them a bad review for an experience that could/should have been handled better. We had dinner here between Christmas and New Year's, and it was quite busy. We were a party of 7 and they were able to accommodate us without too much of a wait. This is a very casual restaurant that looks like a lot of locals go to, which we liked. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared them for our meal. Their menu has standard fare as well as a number of food items not normally seen on menus in a place this casual. We ordered wings - 2 flavors one of which was the honey BBQ - very good. The BBQ sauce had a delicious sweet smoked flavor. Other apps we ordered were buffalo shrimp, fried pickles, basket of fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms, nuclear shrimp (VERY spicy), fried broccoli & cheese bites. Some were VERY good, others were so-so or a little less than. The shrimp and wings were delicious. The onion rings were not so yummy. The fried mushrooms were delicious, the fries were so-so, however the fries with melted cheese and bacon over them were really good. If we go there again, I'm ordering those instead of regular fries. And I'll order the honey BBQ wings again too - loved those. read more

My nephew and I got the Original Hwy. 27 Steakout and my mom got the Cobb Salad. Both the sandwiches and salads were great but the shoestring fries weren't really done. Food was great, service and drinks were awful. Confronted the waiter about our alcoholic drinks lacking the alcohol. The bartender came over to our table with steam coming from his ears claiming that he made our drinks and there were indeed alcohol in them. Next the "manager" came over and gave us attitude about questioning our drinks. She then brought over new drinks with the shot to pour in ourself. Night and day difference in drinks. Cheeseburger inside wrap was cold. Both orders. Service seemed understaffed, bathrooms super small (had to stand over the toilet to open the stall door inward to get out). Cute traveler ambiance, outside seating, but what initially appeared to be a fun different sort of place proved mediocre. My wife and I love to come here, when we are in Leesburg. The food is good and the beer is cold. I highly recommend the Blackened Shrimp Tacos. The service is usually great, and they have some fun ladies working there. We always enjoy eating outside on their covered deck. They have ceiling fans and water misters, for when it's warm. My family and I dined here while visiting my father and his wife a couple of weeks ago. This was our second time dining here. I had the Rocket Fuel Buffalo wings, my wife had the shrimp tacos, and my children had the mac and cheese. The wings were pretty good. The sauce was a little vinegary but not really hot at all (I realize this is subjective). I did ask for bleu cheese and they brought out ranch instead. I reminded the waitress when she came back to the table to check on us and she brought it back to our table right away. I did ask for another blue cheese dressing (I'm a dunker and dunk my carrots and celery in it as well). I was surprised to see I was charged for two bleu cheeses when we received our bill. One thing to mention, this is a whole in the wall type joint. Old license plates and vehicle memorabilia everywhere... Male's bathroom could use some cleaning/updating.... But overall decent food. I had low expectations, it's clearly not fancy on the outside, but it was dirty, noisy and our server needed her smoke breaks more than her tips. Food was presented...messily. Sort of thrown on the plate in a pile. Grease is the #1 ingredient. Burger was like any other burger, nothing special, but, I had to ask for extra napkins to swab off the grease pools. Too hot outside. And street noise/smells ruined any taste. And: I have to say, I suspect some kitchen staff is...selling something out back. The first thing you notice is the looks of the place, all wood and full of local history. The menu has a list of mouth watering food and little tid-bits of Lake County history printed right on the menu. You can a cocktail or soft drink with your meal. There is something on the menu for anyone...Try the wings, the wings will made you want to slap your pappy. We ordered the HWY 27 sandwich..hot steak stuffed with all the fixins', crispy fried taters, and salty pickle. MMM-good! You can sit out side to enjoy the view of the Hwy 27 or sit inside and enjoy in decorated walls and ceiling. The little gals who wait on you are funny and flirty. These gals will make sure your glass stays full and you leave with a smile a you face. You can dine in or take out, call ahead and they will have your order waitin'. Good for lunch or diner. Just passing through and stopped in to try their world famous wings and ended up being served over cooked, completely burned dried out wings. They were charred black from being burned! My husband got the patty melt which the only thing that had any flavor was the rye bread. I've never tasted a hamburger that had absolutely no taste. Fries were good and the beer was cold. read more

We have never not liked anything we've had at the Ramshackle. The Hwy 27 is the closest thing we've found to a real Philly cheesesteak.

The food is really good here. I normally order the chicken wings. They are spicy but you can pick the flavors.

Mediocre bar food. I care about food quality.. and this didn't strike me as good. Wouldn't recommend other than a beer stop.

So disappointing! Been here numerous times and always fine, hardworking staff, hot, fresh food. What's happening? Arrived at 9:15, later than usual for us, but was pleased the place was only half full. Ordered an appetizer, which only came after a half hour after we asked where it was. My husband ordered wings, which the server recommended. Cold and old looking, like it was leftover from somebody's order. Talked to manager and they were redone, this time in five minutes. Ordered mushrooms as appetizer, appetizer served 1 minute before main course. Mushrooms tasted like they were fried in very old oil. Yuck. Ordered wings all flats half lemon pepper half Jamaican jerk, extra well done. They were not all flats sent them back. 2nd try, they were not well done at all, the lemon pepper wings barely had any lemon pepper flavoring. Yuck. Tasted just like chicken with no flavor. We have been here probably over 100 times. Each time gets worse over the past 5 years. I've ordered a midori sour with it coming out tasting only like dawn dish soap, refusal to make me another drink and only offering a different glass, refusal to remove from my bill because I couldn't drink it. Two weeks ago my husband's salad had something about the size of the tip of a pinky finger in it, I'm very sure it was a scab or something someone dug out of their nose. Tonight my husband went with friends, and again cold food that should be hot, and actual GLASS in another's food. Heed my warning and go else where. We use to love this place. Called an order in for wings. Asked for Garlic Parm. "We can't make those. We only have Spicy GP." We'd ordered them before...I asked what made them spicy. "We add medium hot sauce to the garlic parm sauce." Okaaay. So, we ordered them anyway with two other orders of wings (different flavors). Then, I asked if we could get blue cheese dressing instead of ranch (which came with wings). "We can't do that. But you can order blue cheese for 79 cents each." Okaaay. Also ordered an order of Fried cheese curds. Wings were okay (and expensive-over a dollar a wing). Cheese curds were greasy and chewy. Needless to say, won't be back. read more

3.5 stars for this restaurant? i dont think so! if you are gluten free, do your health a favor and avoid this place. they do not know, or maybe care, what gluten free means. i ordered a bacon cheeseburger on a gf bun...waitress repeated it back, so i knew she had it right. cook was the a-hole here, giving me a regular bun. your customers order gluten free, not to be stylish or trendy, but it is due to health conditions! as with some, the results of eating gluten are deadly, so get it straight! pay attention to what you are serving! someones life depends on it! i spotted the wrong bun after the first bite...bun was soft and fluffy, gf buns are dry and fall apart easily. but, i was with family and decided not to make a scene. and by the way...i was asked what cheese i wanted, i ordered cheddar, was given american..gross!!! also ordered it medium rare, not well done! seems like the "cooks" need further training. it has been 17 years since i last stepped foot in this "restaurant"...count on a repeat! read more
