I use the Carvin S 600 stage mate (newest version), for smaller solo gigs. In recent years, it had been cutting out intermittently-Dropped volume or completely out. It could go weeks without showing any problems. That's one of those nightmares for repair guys to deal with: Mysterious intermittent issues. Some of you may have had or currently have this issue. I purchased a Marshall DSL 100 many years ago. I only used the amp a few times, as a 100 watt amp is certainly not something you can practice at home with! After purchasing the Boogie Cab Clone (allows one to practice at home using a tube amp with high wattage) I thought I could dust off the Marshall. When I plugged in I noticed the amp was very hot, more than the usual. The problem was incorrect biasing of the amp. Biasing is something I was not equipped to handle. Finding someone to help was difficult. After reading posts of guitarist with the same problem I came across one mentioning Rance Electronics as the place to go for this problem. I contacted Lawrence, felt a good vibe and more importantly he had encountered and resolved the issue many times. That was enough for me. Lawrence was great!....professional, focused and I learned a few thing as well. I dropped off the amp (covid protocols were met) and picked up within a week!! I am ecstatic! Rance has repaired my old 70's SVT for me. He talked me out of new tubes when I did not need them and did quality work. The best thing to do is ask him what his workload is like and then to work out a time to drop off and pick up your equipment. He is frequently busy, so an overnight job can be hard. He diagnosed tube issues, screwed up ac wiring and a myriad other issues. I wanted to get my amp up and running as best it could so I opted to have him fix all the issues he could find. It was so worth it!! I've got a bunch of vintage Fender amps and this one was the worst sounding when I brought it into Lawrence. Now that he's worked his magic it just might be the best amp I own! The post Fenders had a habit of Blowing up and its still going strong after being repaired 12 years ago. 1 1961 Bassman Cabinet that needed to be properly rewired. Done with no hassle. 1 1972 Morley Flanger, the big silver box type. Basically ressurected from a shell bought back in the 90's at Black Market Music. 1 Tube Screamer also ressurected. 1 SWR Working Mans 12" combo cleaned and wired.
