The food is really good, right off the grill. I love a grilled cheese, just bread and cheese. You can never go wrong with anything on their menu. We usually order while we bowl and enjoy both. Usually there's not much of a wait on weekdays. Other than that when there's a tournament. But always nice to watch others bowl. The do have an arcade and pool tables to enjoy while you wait. I stopped by Rancho Bowl in Santa Maria not long after they opened on a Tuesday, and the experience was pretty average. The employees didn't seem very enthusiastic to be there, and I ended up waiting at the grill counter for longer than I should have. Someone actually had to come off their break just to get me lemon slices because everyone else seemed to ignore that I was standing there. Even though the place was mostly empty when I arrived, we still got seated in a corner with a couple of other groups. It looked like there was some kind of tournament or practice happening later, but I finished playing well before people started showing up, so it felt unnecessary to pack us all together like that. The women's bathrooms were disgusting. There were 2 stalls and one of them looked clogged. The food at Rancho Grill itself was fine. It wasn't anything special, nothing terrible. I'd grab a snack from the grill again if I happened to be there, but I wouldn't make a point to eat here. Overall, not a bad visit, but not exciting either. read more

This place is awesome! Bowling, arcade, billiards, and a bar...what more can you ask for. Super chill vibe in here which I loved. Arcade had a good variety of games at very good prices. Defenitly worth checking out. Bar serves beers, wine and cocktails and very reasonable prices. They have a nice selection of beers on draft so I grabbed a mind haze and loved how ice cold it was served. That's a big plus for me. Came by on a Thursday at 6pm and they weren't too busy. They also have a onsite resteraunt so that's a huge plus. Overall make sure to check them out if your in the area. You defenitly won't regret it. Thanks Ranch Bowl for the great time. This is a wonderful bowling alley! It is clean and well maintained, which is becoming increasingly rare these days. I didn't have any issues at all with my lanes while practicing for nearly three hours. Both the bar and the grill were well run and efficient too. I had tri-tip sandwich that was delicious. While I was eating lunch, the General Manager walked over and asked me how my lunch was and offered to comp me some more games as well as invite me to a future bowling tournament! He really made me feel like a local regular. The ambiance is laid back and chill, just like it should be for an alley. Everyone from the center I interacted with was direct and courteous, which was a breath of fresh air. And I knew I was in the right place when I stepped in and saw the American and State of California flags hanging above the lanes. We catered Rancho Bowl's Tri-Tip sandwiches with salsa, salad with ranch, and beans for our son's baptism party today and it was fantastic. Best Tri-Tip sandwich I've ever had hands down-the Tri-Tip is thinly cut and the bread is a buttery amazing garlic bread. They also included all of the silverware, plates, napkins, serveware, etc. that we needed. Catering went very smoothly and the service was phenomenal. Thank you Ryan for delivering our food to us for our party-we appreciate everything you did to make sure we had everything we needed and the food was hot and perfect! Really disappointed today after our annual family Thanksgiving outing to Rancho Bowl. Family in from Georgia, but timing was such we couldn't bowl on a weekend, so instead, we chose a Tuesday at 4pm, right when they opened. We figured we'd get there early and get out before the evening crowd came in. We erred. Our group of 7 were promptly taken care of, and assigned lane 2 for 1 hour of bowling ($80+). Cool. We had a 4 & 5 yr old, so no need to put us "in the mix". A lane on the end was perfect: we wouldn't interfere with other bowlers. The problem was, every group that came in was put down in the low lanes, such that Lane 1 had 5 twenty-somethings trying to celebrate a birthday, and Lane 3 had a family of 5, and so on. We were all packed in like sardines. The other 20+ lanes? Reserved for league night. We get that, but we'd be gone by 5pm, why not space it out? The answer? They had to wax the lanes (though at 4:30, those lanes were still dark and unwaxed). Meanwhile, down on Lanes 1-7, everyone was packed in, trying not to infringe on each other's space, guessing which bowling ball belonged to who. We ended up taking the kids home 30 minutes in. Security ripped us off and told me and my gf it was $10 a person which is $20 for some small rinky dinky dance floor. But when my cousins went to pay they said it as $5 a person. Wow. Total rip off bro!! I'm from LA and clubs in LA are worth $10 or more because they're actually worth it. Bigger dance floor, better music. Not some small club in a bar. I'm here to talk about the pretzels. These folks know how to fry up a pretzel something delicious. They also cut them in little chunks so it's easier to eat. That might have just been our lovely waitress. She was very kind and served wonderful beverages. We were playing and they're wonderful social card game. What a lovely time it was! This is a place I would call a historic landmark. The one and only rancho bowl. This place has been open for so long and has been a go to spot since I was younger. Used to come here as a kid to go bowling and now I come here to drink and go bowling lol. First with the bowling portion of the place. Pretty solid space. Has quite a few lanes! Most of the nights they have the black light on, so it looks cool bowling. This is also the only bowling alley in the area which makes it popular for everybody to come to. They have specials throughout the week where it's $1 bowling games or all you can bowl on fridays. Not sure if they have it currently but it used to be that way. The food is pretty good here. Traditional diner style food. Usually get the fries and burger here which is good. If we're with a group of friends we just get a bunch of appetizers and a beer. The bar area though has been pretty bad. Staff don't really be wearing mask so it's kinda inconvenient when they serve the drinks. I honestly feel like there's not really a capacity when coming here so everybody just be in here just drinking and whatnot lol. For the time being, I refuse to come here but before then, it was pretty fun. It's literally a place for you to have a high school reunion. My dad and his brother have been bowling since God knows when and have always loved when they take me to Rancho Bowl. We're a great friend of Suzy and she's always coordinated our bowl nights. Seems newer and clean. - updated tech at each lane making the game more fun - good music Cons: - crazy expensive - Korean BBQ ribs are in fact... not Korean BBQ ribs - surprisingly ugly bathrooms. It's like going through a time warp. Like they remodeled everything except bathrooms haha. - crappy part of town Basically it was overpriced. But I feel like they can do that because it's one of the few fun things to do in Santa Maria if you don't feel like going to taste wine for the um-teenth time. What an unexpected gem in Santa Maria! I was looking for a fun diversion while in town, and Rancho Bowl came up close to my hotel. Their classic retro location on Donovan and Broadway is straight out the 1950's, but the owners have made lots of great upgrades inside while retaining the classic charm. It was a little weird having the computer ask to take my picture after donning my stylish rental shoes, but I quickly learned that the game flashes your face on the cartoons. This actually becomes fun after a few frames. There are lots of lanes with upgraded seating perfect for individuals or groups. The snack bar and lounge seemed much better than your average bowling alley, so I speculate that the owners have put similar efforts into making them great as well. Pictures and reviews on Yelp seem to support this. If I had not already stuffed my belly with tri-tip, I may have indulged. This was not only a good stop, but Rancho Bowl was one of the better bowling alleys I have ever visited. I was with a party of two, bowling and enjoying the night. I went to the restroom and the manager poked his head in the door of the BATHROOM to bother me and tell me that ,"THE BATHROOM'S ARE FOR CUSTOMERS ONLY!, AND I NEED TO HURRY UP!". I told the gentleman that I'm with a party bowling and that I was a customer, he responded with, "do u have a receipt then?" (ALL WHILE IM ON THE TOILET, MIND YOU...). I told him YES of course, it's with my party on Lane 11. He briefly says "sorry" and leaves me to finish my business in private. I was never approached afterward and apologized to. Way to go! Now I'll never be returning! Thanks for embarrassing me and making me feel totally unwelcome!! By judging me on my appearance you completely made yourself and your company look like bigots. If you decide to waste your money by going here watch out for the manager! He doesn't care what gender u are he will step into either restroom to make sure you're a "customer". read more

It's a decent bowling alley but there is way too much crime. I've known people who had their cars stolen or broken in at this location. It's not really Rancho Bowl's fault but it's something that one must consider. The nightlife here is a bit odd. It's the Santa Maria alternative to going out to Rooney's. I've always referred to Rancho Bowl's bar as Ratchet Bowl. Everyone orders Bud Light in a bottle even if there is real beer on tap. Music is meh. read more

Rancho Bowl hosted our company appreciation day. I worked with Suzy Benson at Rancho Bowl to coordinate the event. From the initial e-mails to the follow up afterwards; Suzy was informative and provided all information in a timely manner. The day of the event the staff was wonderful. Wade and Lolo greeted me upon arrival and went over food arrangements and pre-set the lanes with our attendees names; which made it really easy for everyone to find their lane. The food came out on-time and was fresh and hot. We had decided on party foods and selected the various appetizer platters, pizza and salad and desserts. Susan and Karen who helped us with the food were great.; very pleasant to work with. We loved that they played music and had the disco lights on; this was fun for us and the kids. The bowling alley has been updated since the last time I was there a year ago. The lanes are computerized, you can take your picture and little emoji's play throughout the bowl. Another highlight for many people was we could select bumpers on a per person basis; so if only certain people wanted to have them on your lane that was an option. The bar has been updated as well. The bathrooms were clean also. The only mishap was when we were closing the bill out with Lolo. This was resolved promptly and we were on our way. Suzy immediately followed up early Monday morning with an apology for the mishap and feedback was given on the event. All in all a great experience and I would highly recommend Rancho Bowl for company or personal events. We would like to make this a annual event and would definitely go back to Rancho Bowl.
