Beer in a lousy, PLASTIC cup doesn't enhance its palatability. BBQ'ed artichoke from the Hitching Post paired w/ the lackluster beer.
    Gary I.

Elmer's looks like an oldtime dive bar from the late 1930's or 40's like Mike's Place in Lompoc. Local hangout for callow under 35'ers at least for a Thursday evening closer to 9pm.   By the looks of the front of the building, it looks like the favourite watering hole for old geezers who would have added character & charm to this rustic bar. Maybe by 8pm they're at home all asleep. Service is basic, just good enough to be OK. . Order the drink, hand you the drink, pay. This small town bar has the potential to be a friendly, hospitable, local hangout, but totally misses the mark.  Beer was served in a lousy, plastic cup which doesn't enhance its palatability. Saving grace was being able to bring in bbq'ed artichoke take out from the Hitching Post to accompany the lackluster beer.  3 stars

Classic dive bar where are the locals hang out. In Orcutt after 10pm there isn't anywhere else to go. Our friends live nearby so we all went here so no one drinks and drives. Always drink responsibly. The bartenders were cool and fast at serving. The place packed on a Friday night with all walks of life. The pool table is the center of attention and is super annoying as they get in your way and you in there way when playing. The bar is small and the pool table takes up a lot of space. Bathrooms were really gross and I went in and out and decided not to use it. They serve some snacks at the bar like peanuts and jerky that are packaged. Would I come here again? Yes-if I was with my local friends and we wanted to hang out otherwise probably not.

    Ice cold beer...

Another Orcutt gem. Love coming here in Saturday, or Sunday afternoons and just chilling to the Touch Tunes, ice cold drinks and local atmosphere. It's also fun if you have an early eve, late afternoon group of people. Co-workers and I have enjoyed the local, Orcutt pedestrian friendly crawl and enjoy the atmosphere intermixed with easy to get-to/nearby great places to eat.

We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza which was surprisingly delicious and the wife ordered a beer. We sat in the bar area and I decided to go with the self pour option where they give you a card to tap a sensor and select any beer on tap to pour yourself. Me and a buddy of mine had some issues with a few of the self pour taps where we just believed they were out of beer and it also over charged us. I told a server about my single issue where it over charged me and he said he would take care of it but my friend had the worst of luck. 2/3 beers he attempted to pour were simply out. This was when Jess, our savior came to the rescue. When it was time to pay the tab, she comped both of our orders. Mind you, I had 4 beers. Guess what the total was? Yeah, $28. Paid for my wife's beer and our pizza and because I had a single complication with the beer self pour station, she comped the 4 beers I had as well as my friend's order. This is Grade A customer service and a reason why I'd return to Blast 825 Brewery, so shoutout to Jess! We all appreciate you.

While I had high hopes for a good meal, the experience was significantly marred by several issues: Poor Service: We were largely ignored, with staff failing to address requests. The restaurant appeared severely understaffed, leading to incredibly long wait times for service. It took 25 minutes to be asked what we were drinking, and another 20 minutes for two beers to arrive Food Quality Issues: The food served was of low quality, specifically corn rib appetizer were ice cold , the tri-tip was very over cooked and was difficult to chew. My wife ordered the orcutt hill salad entree. The salad was missing two ingredients. Prosciutto and candied pecans. When asked about it the waitress said I will bring you some. She brought a cup of smoked ham, not prosciutto. She indicated that the kitchen was out of candied pecans. Don't you think that should be disclosed to the customer before ordering ? The salad was small, not an entree size. When we asked about seeing a manager, we got a bill with a neighborhood 15% reduction. When asked about that, I was told, that's all the manager is willing to do. Really ? I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve the experience for future guests. Sincerely, A Disappointed Customer

The building is from 1917 and you can feel it everywhere.... dark wood, stained glass, a ship model in a glass case, an old house telephone booth, a hand-painted figurehead hanging from the ceiling holding lanterns. It's not trying to be charming, it just is. The tri-tip sliders and pretzel bites were so good I forgot to take a picture before they were gone (especiallythe tri tip sliders). Happy hour pricing made the whole thing even better. Seriously, if you're anywhere near Santa Maria, make the drive. I'll definitely be back and I'm a little annoyed it took me this long to find it! Tim the bartender was also outstanding. Friendly, warm and informative and of course a great bartender.

They vaguely state closing time as "till Close" without a specific time, but in many of their social media posts they list specific times and I've planned around those several times only to find the door shut and lights off with a sign on the door OR getting turned away if they're still inside cleaning. We live within easy walking distance so we took a nice little walk. As we entered there was music playing on a record player which was great and the shop was set up nice and neat with a welcoming bar or tables to take a seat. We were instantly greeted by Mark and asked what brought us in today. We let him know we wanted to do a tasting and he let us know that his selection today was from Thatcher. There was a rose and a few red blends and a Syrah. All very tasty. Mark was educated and well informed in the blender and his styles and profiles as well as the offerings and gave us notes with each pour and answered any questions. Wine isn't all available there was beers on tap as well as some non-alcohol options. We ordered a small charcuterie plate which for the price at a small wine bar was good and above what I expected. We through conversations with Mark mentioned we wanted to have our ballroom dance instructor at Allure Ballroom to do a wine and dance social cause the businesses are so close and Mark said oh I could easily host it here and move some tables we've done events before. So... That being said stay tuned I have Marks card and will be talking to Yvette at Allure Ballroom to see if we can arrange a local ball room and wine social. The music played was great easy light classic rock and the clientele was friendly and good to converse with as we shared a few drinks and snacks. This will definitely be a normal outing for us and hopefully we can get a great local old Orcutt business co-op event going. If you haven't stopped in and seen Mark Steller who lives up to his name.
