Stew's had been here forever! This was my husband's and son's go-to barber shop until I started cutting their hair. It's a quaint little barber shop filled with vintage memorobilia that is mostly for sale. There are a few ladies here that cut hair. One of them actually cuts women's hair as well. This is where I go for my haircuts. Andi is the lady who cuts my hair. Now, if you are a woman who expects a a shampoo, blow dry and styling this isn't the place for you. The price for a haircut here is $25. You just don't get all the pampering. This is exactly how I like my hair cut. Andi is great. It's relatively quick and I go home and style my own hair. When I've gone to expensive salons I go home and wet my hair and style it my own way anyway. Sometimes when I have gone to expensive salons I went home and was super disappointed. I'm never disappointed when Andi cuts my hair. For the men, there are several barbers in the shop that specialize in men's hair and Stew's is always busy. My husband would get his hair cut here and he really likes the Marine corps haircut. Stew would give him the best "taper down to nothing" haircut. I recommend Stew's. read more

I Was about to bring my son in for a haircut. When I saw an employee from this shop acting very unprofessional in the parking lot of the shopping center. He was Yelling obscenities in a threatening manor at another man in the parking lot. My son is autistic and does not do well with confrontation and aggressiveness. he became frightened. He has issues with getting his haircut already. So obviously today, we will not be getting a much-needed haircut for my son .I would not recommend going to this place as it is unprofessional and frightening. read more

Showed up to Stews on Tuesday at 4pm and they had closed early. Supposed to be open until 5pm. Took forever knocking on the door to even get a barber to come to the door to talk to. The barbers were inside and said they closed early bc it was slow. Made no effort to apologize or offer to cut my kids hair even though their business hours should have been open for another hour. Then when I asked if they would be closing early again the next day they said don't know, depends on the weather or if we're busy. So as a busy single parent who works all day then tries to get my kids haircuts after school and when I'm home from work I have to hope that a business who's posted business hours are 9-5pm doesn't randomly close early without notice!? Pretty lame. And I get it if a small business is slow they close early. I get it. Been there and done that. But when staff is inside and you're supposed to be open and you don't have any decent customer service and tell potential customer that maybe the business will be open until their posted close hour the next day but it's anybody's guess just doesn't sit well with me. This is the same place where about 9 years ago a barber had cut my sons ear and here I thought I'd give them another chance and all they did is just show why i have not gone to them and won't ever again. Which sucks bc I'd like to support local business but guess great clips it is for my kids bc stews staff is terrible. read more

Don't come here for a women's undercut touch up. I thought I got a deal walking out with a $5 clean up in 5 minutes, but I was mistaken. I think I would've felt differently if the barber told me what she did right then and there, but when I got home and brushed my hair out, a HUGE chunk of hair came out. Not ok. My undercut lines are now uneven, and it's upsetting. It's not that hard to find a barber that can do an undercut touch up, but to do one properly is another situation. I thought that by calling ahead and asking if this is a service they offer, that would be smart. I will not be coming back here ever again. Came in to stew's barber shop (the one right next to the Albertsons on Rancho California rd) asking for a comb over with a hard part. I was very specific as to how I wanted it cut. I had asked beforehand if they use a straight razor and my barber told me no because she's a cosmetologist. She then stated that she "does hard parts a thousand times a day" And told me if I'm not going to like it then I shouldn't get it cut there. Guess I should've listened to her. I would've thought that someone who does this haircut a thousand times a day would be able to follow the line of my previous hard part. It was clear she was struggling especially because she took a really long time to do it. Overall, stay away. It was 17$ for the cut. For 20$ down the street you can get a barber to cut your hair, line you up with a straight razor, and give you a hot towel shave. read more

REALLY friendly barbers! The usual small talk with updates on how your cut is coming along and suggestion/questions on how you might change it. I went in today because the person who cuts my hair at another place is out of town for a month and I needed something quick and cheap before work. Older guy with glasses told me to come in and sit down. I asked him to pls trim the sides with a 3 and leave the top and back alone, politely. He was watching the TV and commented on politics. He went right into the back with the 3. I told him again I didn't want any off the top or back. His response was "too late now", no apology, then said "that's the way it's usually done". We agreed to just finish with 3 and trim the top. He rushed through the rest of the cut in less than 5 minutes. It looked bad. I paid and went to my car and then thought about how hard I work for my money, how I treat customers, him ignoring my instructions, and how bad my hair looked. I walked back in and before I could say anything he motioned me back in the chair. I calmly and politely declined and said "I didn't get what I asked for-" he cut me off and said he did exactly what I said. I calmly held my ground and said that I clearly remembered telling him not to touch the back and sides, which I did. He said "let me give me your money back" and after I said thank you he said "now you can go live your life somewhere else because you're not worth it to me". and turned his back. Took my nephew to get just a fade and I showed a picture of what he wanted and he left with patches and no fade. If you're an older person this place might work. Younger generations and urban cuts, I don't recommend at all. For the type of cut my nephew got I would not even give one star. We took our son in for his very first haircut today and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We walked right in and Caroline gave our son an awesome first haircut. She was patient and very kind. My husband comes here every once in a while when I can't find time on Sunday to do his military cut. It's ok... I'm an amateur and I think I fade the hair better and straighter. I think they focus on a "good cut" that gets you out fast. But even with an awesome military discount (that we appreciate) it should be better than his wife cutting hair. read more

Staff us friendly and quickly accommodate guests. Never had to wait more than a few minutes. Prices are a tiny bit high for a men's barber, but not bad. Being open on Sunday is a big plus. Courtney has the best haircuts so far. She is thorough and makes sure no lose hairs are missed and you're completely happy before you leave. Stew is probably the worst of the group. He goes way too quickly and tries to get you out of the seat so he can handle more clients. Never had a good experience with him and usually have to come back and have someone fix his mistakes a day or two later.
