I'm a beginner so I actually really appreciate this course because I didn't feel pressure to rush since it wasn't too busy today. The course itself is decently maintained, but I will say the parking lot and the front exterior needs some work. There's a lot of weeds and stuff so it's not super nice when you first pull up the course itself is in better shape though! There's also a restaurant if you're hungry and they have a few snacks in the pro shop. This place is no frills, but it's great to just get some practice in on a nice day and get in 9 holes. read more

The last time I golfed here was probably 20 years ago. A lot has changed, that's for sure. First, the price for a round of golf was a lot for what you get. Secondly one of our group couldn't make it and when I told them I had a tee time for three but only two could come- they said no problem and charged me for all three. Oh well. The pro shop is a mess and isn't much of a pro shop. The course itself is not in great shape. Hole one was shorter than I've ever seen. Seriously could've teed off with a putter. My son is playing PGA jr today at rancho Duarte. We've never been there before. They charged my husband $10 spectator fee. That's absolutely insane. First of all, we pay a lot of money just to participate in the golf league. Secondly, as mentioned above, my son is playing PGA JUNIOR. He is still a minor, which means adult supervision is a must. It's insane they still charge accompanying adult with their minor golf players given the condition they cannot play by themselves. Unfortunately we do not get to pick locations where the league take place. We do get to pick from a few dates tho. If I ever see rancho Duarte on a specific date I will avoid it at all cost. read more

Rancho Duarte is a great 9 hole golf course. I have been to driving ranges but have not played a game in years. Rancho Duarte is the place to come if you want to learn or to reacquaint yourself to the game again. I came to do both. I came to play again and to have my sons experience the game of golf. This course is walkable but golf carts are available. The fairway is a little worn, but the greens are maintained and green. If you need anything for the course the clubhouse offers anything you will need. Rent clubs, need balls, gloves, tees, etc. The gentleman who helped me was very helpful. The fees to play are reasonable. Cheaper to play during the week. There is also a bar on site as well. I'll have to check it out next time. I hear the food is great. They have a driving range to work on your swing. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again. read more

Great prices, two minutes from my place, and staff who are mostly warm and helpful--that's why I keep coming back to this driving range. New ownership took over recently, so there are some growing pains (the range lights run a little low on some bays, and it can be hard to track longer shots at night). Nothing unsafe, just annoying. If this gets fixed then I'll update to 5 stars so PLEASE FIX!!. They're responsive in the pro shop, so I'm betting it'll get sorted with a bit of time. Strange Driving Range. The left side of the DR slopes towards the mountains. It makes the ball feel above your feet. Horrible range balls, many chewed up from the ball retriever. Range balls are the 50% balls, dead flat, not worth $19 for a large bucket. read more

A nine hole golf course with a few par 4's. It'll take you about 2.5 hours to finish because it is a longer course than others. You can walk or ride (golf cart) and the fees are reasonable for a public golf course. There is also a driving range next to the course where you can warm up before playing or for practice. The greens and the fairway were in poor shape. Throughout the course I had to hit my ball off of the dirt. In other words there were patches of dirt on the fairway where it should've been grass. Rancho Duarte has a bar with a limited selection of liquors and a small selection of beers on tap. There was a female bartender when we went and she seemed pretty seasoned at making drinks. She did a good job with making our cocktails. The bar has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating overlooks the 9th hole and the driving range. It provided just enough space to get some air and enjoy the scenery before playing a round. read more

I cannot complain- they have good rates. I am a local and I have golfed here frequently often after work. They have friendly front desk and t times are not difficult to get. However, the greens particularly around the holes need work. I'm sure everyone would agree. I am hoping they will continue to improve the greens and the grass. The entire course is just 9 holes, but I will continue frequenting due to the location and proximity. I believe the driving range is opening and hopefully they get some dining/drinks available soon. Very nice though to look up and see the majestic mountains in the background while you golf. Rates are great. read more

$16 dollars to play isn't outrageous, however 11$ for a spectator to join you is questionable. The course is in pretty rough shape, greens are mushy (you can feel your feet sinking into the greens as you putt on them). The tee boxes are awful, and there is no marshal out here to let fast players play through slow players. There are dozens upon dozens of pitch marks on each green (people don't repair them). Not a horrible course considering the price, but come on people. read more

So I was looking for something in my garage and move a few boxes around, saw my golf clubs. It brought back so many memories from the old days. Well, I made time today, after work to go to the driving range. It's been about 10 years since I last played here, so it wasn't a pretty sight to see me hacking away. Used to play here a lot back in the old days and it was pretty nice back then, but I'm sure the drought has taken it's toll on this place. The driving range looked ok and from what I saw out on the course, looked like it was coming back to life, with all the rain we got recently. Has a nice little putting area between the driving range and parking lot. Service was nice and friendly, the bar & grill looked cool, bathrooms could use a makeover, but other than that, a pretty nice place to work on your stroke or get a quick game in. Booked on the website for 9 holes @ $12.50 per person ... wanted another 9 holes for a replay rate but the gentleman at the proshop (Michael) claimed that we booked thru an agency so we had to pay for full RATE for a replay. This is the golf course where I played my first 9 hole game. It is a nice and small "pitch and put". You can probably get through the whole course in an hour or two. I used to sneak in a game when I had a long gap between college classes. You can get away with a pitching wedge, a 7 iron, a wood, and a putter. The driving range is average. At times, you would be hitting off the grass, but they have been utilizing mats more frequently. It isn't the best "pitch and put" out there, but it's more than adequate. The pricing is very affordable(rates vary depending on the day and time you play). read more

My mother in-law visited my family from Korea and she explained to me that playing golf was a rich man sport. Not many people can have the opportunity to play because of the limited amount of places to play golf. I decided to take her on an experience of a lifetime :) As we drove inside the golf course, it seems there is very limited parking space, so make sure to come during off peak hours. We actually came during the afternoon when the sun was scorching hot. I quickly gathered my clubs and reserved a spot on the driving range which had about 15 or so spaces. The balls ranged from $4, 8, $10 depending on the size of the basket. The $10 dollar basket felt just right with 3 people chipping away. The driving range course is rather simple and nothing fancy. The putting area looks pretty good and you are able to put for free. There is no vending machine so you will need to get your drinks at the bar which charged water for $2.50 or vitamin water/gateroade for $3.50. In summary this is pretty chill, average place. You can come here to practice your game with very little money. read more

This place has really gone down hill. The last several times we I have golfed here no matter what time of day the restaurant/bar is always closed. I mean what the hell? Can't even get water with ice after asking because they were closed. What's the point of having a bar if your just going to deny your customers beverages especially on a hot day. I went here on Wednesday and the course was relatively vacant, but in terrible shape. The dirt fairways and torn up tee boxes made playing the course rather difficult, as well as the greens that were mostly chopped up. The staff was nice for the most part, however the pro shop clerk was amazingly abrasive and somewhat rude. I wouldn't personally golf here again due to the uppity attitude people seemed to have thinking it's a country club, which it's far from. 3/10 That's a picture of one of the greens. Me and my friend decided to take our sons out for a game so we figured we'd try this place.From when we got to the front desk the clerk was rude and didnt seem like he wanted us to play there at all..He asked us with attitude if we had our own golf clubs and got mad when we said no. So I said isn't that why you guys rent them out?? Well after all the hassle we finally get our game going and he came up to us saying that people were reporting that we were taking long. but that was a lie because we let someone go in front of us so that wouldn't happen because they were obviously good at it..there was no one else behind us ((at all)).. So long story short he ends up kicking us out of the golf course and refunding our money back but yet he didnt tell the people that pasted us nothing about they're little kids that were driving the golf carts. Easy executive course. Only $17. Good place to practice your short game. There is a wild raven that will let you pet it that hangs around. There is a sign posted saying his name is Stewart and to be aware and kins to it for it means no harm. I will say it was really neat to see that it's not afraid of humans however it will stand right in front of your ball so you need to throw one down the greens so it chases that one. It's like a dog. Also hide valuables he will try to steal things. Only complaint I have is there was an unprotected lawnmower man mowing the 8th green. He was not in a cage he was just using a regular mower. I doubt he could hear FOUR as I almost nailed him. read more

Nice facility, but some old man that works there is a dbag. Took my 8 year old nephew to try out his first set of clubs for the first time. Took him to a side mat to keep away from others being his first time, didn't want to hit anyone accidentally. This guy comes up out of the blue, and tells my nephew to read the sign about not hitting over the fence, and how I would get in trouble if he did. Mind you, kid hadn't even come close to hitting one over the fence, and was mostly hitting worm burners. How about next time, you try to be friendly and give a pointer to a new golfer? Instead, he was scared he would get me in trouble and didn't want to hit much anymore. Would have taken him multiple times a week to practice there, but now I'll drive a little further and look for a more caring "professional" for lessons. Glad I won't be spending anymore money here. This use to be a decent 9 hole course to play. I don't know if they went through some kind of ownership changes or a employee strike or terminated their grounds keeper. This course is not even worth the $11 they charge to play. The fairways are dead and the greens are some of the worse I've seen. The greens have yellow patches. They have major damage. Nice 9 hole executive golf course. Standard par 3's and a few short par 4's. One of the better short golf courses in the Antelope Valley area. Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. Luckily it wasn't too crowded so we went out as a twosome. I didn't do any research on this course (besides hearing about it from my friend) so I was expecting to see a short par 72 course. So, it came as a surprise when I approached the first tee and saw a 50 yard par 3.... Anyways, this is a 9 hole executive course mainly with short par 3s and a few par 4s. I really wanted to bust out my driver, so I had to force it out on the par 4s, even though it would've been better to tee off with an iron due to my rusty short game. Some par 3s were less than 100 yards, which I wasn't expecting. We finished the course in about 2 hours. There was a logjam starting on the 3rd hole. It's a very short and forgiving course, so expect more beginners and delays. Gave this place an extra star because I chipped in for eagle on the 9th hole. And also for their bar. They had $5 beers on tap during happy hour, which was a great ending to a short round of golf. read more

I was in the area recently and played a round here (weekday twilight after 2pm for $11). The course was in good shape and the new staff members were polite and professional. Rancho Duarte no longer offers discounted rates on golfnow.com, but they do have a frequent player card now: pay for 10 rounds and your 11th is free. I agree... the older guy that works there is a d hole! We were there at a memorial service. Very high emotions for a wonderful guy who passed too soon and he played golf here every Wednesday. The older guy treated everyone I saw like shit. Actual grieving people. He also charged me $6 for half a small plastic cup of wine from a box. It was the opposite of friendly service. read more

I have been golfing for over 20 years now. I used to love this golf course when the old owner ran this place. Green fees were great, we had women and men's tournament almost every weekend. Now in 2018 this course is straight ASS! If you're just starting off golfing and really don't care about lush greens and plush fairways go ahead and golf here.. perfect place for you if you are a REAL golfer , don't waste your time here.
