I'm sad this place is closing because I love the vibe and the food! Came here recently with friends…read moreand really liked the apple manchego slaw salad and the octopus small plate. Hoping someone else great opens up in the space one Lurcat closes its doors.

My visit to Cafe Lurcat was fortunately with a group, which afforded us the chance to order more of the non-entree items than I would have otherwise, greatly to my benefit. The cocktails were spot on, with great appearance and good flavors. The tuna tartare and wagyu tartare were both fabulous. I chose the Miso Sea Bass for my main and thoroughly enjoyed the flavor and lightness and while slaws can be hit or miss for me, this one was a hit. We had all four of the sides (fries, roasted cauliflower, potato puree, asparagus), and I'll say you can't go wrong with any but the asparagus and cauliflower stood out. For dessert, the mini doughnuts were a terrific ending. The waitstaff deserves many kudos. Our server was engaged, friendly, and helpful - giving recommendations or his opinion where people wanted it (and he did not steer us wrong!). The folks bringing out the dishes did their job with a certain beautiful flow of movement, efficiency, and unobtrusiveness.

First off so sorry for no pics!! Met a friend for lunch…read morehere at what a great surprise! This is a super nice bar/restaurant/event center in the heart of Baldwin Wisconsin. So much parking, so many great spaces outdoors and a beautiful comfortable interior. We sat in the bar and had a great wait staff serving us. Super attentive and friendly. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with beer battered fries and the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was fresh and hot. Great meal. Def recommend!!

My congratulations to Phoenix Bar and Grill, Baldwin, WI…read more My first time at that restaurant was many years ago when it was located south of I-94 and I-63. A small, very small restaurant near the Fireworks. Later, for business reasons, I returned to Baldwin year after year. Phoenix has grown from that small place into a very prominent restaurant, now located north of I-94, with full-service dining, weddings, business meetings, and much more. Congratulations, because this is only achieved by having a vision and a goal, in addition to maintaining excellent service, a menu that caters to almost every palate, a good bar, and, I repeat, excellent service. With my experience as a restaurant connoisseur, both for work and pleasure, and as a chef, I would like to say that the hamburger was delicious. The onions and mushrooms were perfectly cooked, and the medium-rare beef was simply divine. The fried marshmallows were very good. The only thing that wasn't up to par were the boneless wings, very tough and overcooked. Overall, excellent place, great vibe. Until next time!

We like this place a lot. We liked it from the start and it's only continued to grow on us…read more It's not going to appeal to everyone. If you use the term 'dated' often to describe furnishings that are older than five years, this isn't the place for you. Looking for bold cuisine? Not here, move along. It does appeal to us: a laid back bar, friendly and hard-working staff, and an old-fashioned restaurant (or supper club) in back, with tables and chairs from the 1970s, much to the chagrin of other critics and probably at least some HGTV addicts. It's also a fun place to watch an American sporting match, including the Packers, when they're not blacked out by the imposter surrogate purple football team. The food is good: appetizers, pizzas, as well as our favorite, the salad bar. There's not much to the salad bar: it's small, but I happen to like what they have on it, including the two types of lettuce. Tap beer is around $3 a pint as of this decade (2019) and hopefully you can enjoy a Creamy Dark, like I do. Drop in and enjoy!
