We hosted a private event at Lurcat recently and I would come back again for dinner or an event. We worked directly with Matthew, on the event planning, and Ross, Leah, Cole, ans Hailey onsite. The team made everything seamless and the food was incredible. Our menu consisted of salad with bread service, the option of salmon, pork, and risotto as entres, and the a décédant cheesecake to tie it off. The servers helped up adjust the music and lighting so that the ambiance matched our event. All in all it was a great night. Thank you Cafe Lurcat!

This was my first time visiting the Lurcat in a year or so and it's always a nice visit. Our food was amazing per usual. We ordered tuna carpaccio and crab croquettes. The carpaccio was full of flavor and platted beautifully! The croquettes were always quite good but nothing I'd get again personally. We sat out on the patio and really enjoyed how spacious it is! Our waiter seemed to be newer to serving and it took away from the experience slightly. He didn't seem to be well informed on the menu or even know what to recommend with confidence. We were a bit disappointed that not much seems to change on the menu. Both of us have visited this restaurant multiple times over the years and it seems only a couple things change out. Overall it's still a place I love to go to but I'd like to see the menu refresh more!

This was a sweet surprise. The food was phenomenal. Everything was delicious from the sweet potatoes to the fried rice to the salmon. Service was great. Very clean and exquisite aesthetics. I had a really good experience and cannot wait to go back.

My second time here, this time for restaurant week! I started off with the steak tartare, which was pretty good. I also tried the apple cheese and chive, which was fun to try as part of the courses but I personally wouldn't order again as a full appetizer as it's literally just apples and cheese (tasty as a snack though!). The star of the show was the potato gnocchi. Truly incredible flavors and fluffy gnocchi made it one of my top 3 dishes in the twin cities. I will absolutely be back for that. Our server was great and the whole restaurant feels like it could be in Manhattan!

We attended a Sunday afternoon wedding here and I was so impressed! Everything was delicious, the service was phenomenal and setting is beautiful. The miso sea bass was so tasty; it was cooked to perfection. The apple & cheese salad was different, which I like. The other standouts were the desserts. My daughter tried every one. I had to be more selective with my stomach capacity and calories, but that pistachio macaron the red velvet was also spectacular. I like macarons a lot and most are just good, but these ones are must try!

Sophisticated french cafe/bar near downtown Minneapolis. We sat outside and the decor is set up like you're on a french garden. We arrived during happy hour and were told dinner menu was not offered until 5pm. We ordered Lurcat Fries, Artisanal cheese platter, Lurçat burgers (skiders)), hummus & flatbread. At 5pm we ordered the chilean seabass. There is something for everyone! Great place to mer somene

I visited Cafe Lurcat during a work trip and had a wonderful experience. Working with the staff to book a private room was seamless and easy! The private room we had was a great location and very spacious! We all were standing up and chatting prior to our seated dinner and there was plenty of space for our large group! We started by ordering many different appetizers to try. I tried the bread service, ginger friend rice, Chicory Salad, and steak tartare. My favorite was the salad and fried rice! Once we were seated I ordered the Herb Tagliatelle which was delicious! I think next time I would get the burger or a steak since those also looked so good! The wine selection was also very extensive! At the end we ordered a few different dessert to pass around which were also a hit! I highly recommend this restaurant for business or personal meals!

Excellent dinner at Cafe Lurcat during restaurant week! The atmosphere is gorgeous and inviting. The quality of food matches the fine dining experience. We started off with the Wagyu steak tartare and the corned beef tongue. Both were tender and seasoned perfectly. For our main entrées, we ordered the Amish chicken and the pork chop. Our main dish order took a little longer than expected. Our waitress informed us that a large party (20 people!) was in front of our order, so she offered us a side dish to accompany our main meals and we added the sweet potatoes. The main entrées were well done -- chicken was beautifully carved and presented. The skin was tasty. The black rice and sauce were nice compliments to the meat. The pork chop was a beautiful, thick cut of meat. We ordered it medium and it may have been ever so slightly cooked a little under medium. Seasoning was perfect and had a nice, tart flavor coming through with the sauerkraut. WOW! The sweet potatoes were the star of the evening! Sweet, savory, bright and fresh with lemon, crispy skins... just wow! Order the sweet potatoes!! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate panna cotta and olive oil cake. Both were absolutely stunning and would fit right in at any patisserie! Excellent flavors, textures, and presentation! Faultless! I'll definitely be coming back!

Beautiful restaurant with fantastic service! Our server answered all of our questions, made suggestions, and also was willing split the ticket for our large table. We shared appetizers and both the bread and the fries were amazing! There was a yellow dip that came with the fries that was so good. My cocktail was also unique and delicious and others loved the Bloody Mary style cocktail.

I like my salad like I like my friends: refreshing, composed, well-balanced, and sweet, tart, a little bit salty, and a little bit spicy.

Café Lurcat belongs on your Twin Cities restaurant bucket list. Located just across the street from Loring Park, this fine dining restaurant is wonderful for a special occasion. The space itself is elegant and beautifully decorated. With floor-to-ceiling windows along the outer wall, it is always bright and open. We loved looking out at the park from the main dining room this evening--the park was particularly lovely with the new foliage coming in on the trees. We also admired the fixtures and decor: this restaurant is just plain beautiful to sit in in addition to being a great place to eat. The service is excellent as well, with a talented team in the front of the house as well as the back of the house. Café Lurçat has an excellent beverage list that includes a beautifully curated selection of wines, beers, and spirits. They also have a wonderful selection of creative cocktails. They also have good options for the zero-proof crowd, which tonight included--joy of joys--Nah. (This is a delicious N/A beer.) You often hear food lovers talk about honoring an ingredient, but when it comes to vegetable preparation in particular, what Café Lurçat does is better described as reverence. Tonight in particular, the menu was a delightful dance of the seasons, with ingredients that recalled winter, celebrated spring, and hinted at the summer to come, while also bringing together flavors from across the world. We ordered some favorites for the starters. One was the apple and cheese salad, which is refreshing and fun to eat--with all ingredients cut uniformly, you're never sure whether it's a matchstick of apple or cheese. We also had the gem-like beet salad with its enchanting pistachio pesto, a must-try for beet lovers. I went with the shishito peppers, which were charred and served atop a mole negro and topped with sesame seeds and cotija. The combination was unexpected and entrancing, a beautiful bit of fusion if ever I had one, with a gentle heat that built slowly as you ate. For my main, I had the current vegetarian offering, broccolini Soffritto. The broccolini was cooked to perfection, a brilliant emerald green and with just the right amount of bite. It was blanketed with what was hands-down the best Soffritto that I have ever had, topped with feather-light cheese, and served atop perfectly-cooked farro that absorbed all the fabulous flavors of the dish. We also had the good sense to order the asparagus. If you're headed to Café Lurçat soon, you should, too: it's a fantastic way to experience an in-season vegetable. Served with whipped goat cheese that slowly melts into a velvety sauce, the asparagus is flavored with lemon, thyme, and sprinkled with puffed wild rice, which provides not only delicious crunch but also an earthiness that balances the brightness of the other ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Basque cheesecake and the seasonal galette. The Basque cheesecake was bright with lemon and only slightly sweet. The fresh blueberry compote and chantilly were perfect accompaniments. This is such a nice spring dessert: light and not too sweet, it's a reminder that spring is here and summer is just around the corner. The seasonal galette was filled with pecans and topped with salted caramel ice cream. The filling was sweet and slightly sticky, and the pastry that surrounded it was crisp and flaky. The ice cream was creamy and silky smooth, the most apt partner for the galette.

Really fancy place for a date or anniversary celebration! Great service and loved their food! Wish there were more vegetarian options too!

We visited Cafe Lurcat for dinner with a group of friends during Christmas break. We weren't able to find parking so we used the valet - they were friendly and cost $10 to use. We were seated quickly in the bar area and our server came right away to bring us drinks and menus. I ordered the Bordeaux by the glass and it was a really nice wine for an affordable price. We started with the apple, chive, cheese salad and added the bread service. This salad has been on the menu since we first visited Lurcat in 2012 and it never disappoints. This evening it was a manchego cheese that perfectly balanced the tartness of the green apple. For an entree, I chose the Korean Barbecue salmon. The outside of the salmon was caramelized with the barbecue sauce but the inside was cooked perfectly. It was just slightly on the sweet side for my taste, but overall delicious. Others ordered the steak frites, the scallops, and the sea bass. Nobody had anything bad to say - all of the food was a hit. We hadn't visited Lurcat in a while, and it definitely didn't disappoint. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

Yikes. For a restaurant that charges 40+ for most entrees I would really expect a better experience. We had a party of 7 and we were each disappointed unfortunately. To start off the dinner we had to wait 40 minutes for our drink order. I actually had to wait an hour because my drink wasn't put in until later. Appetizers were good and went without a hitch. Throughout dinner we had to keep flagging people down to fill up our water glasses. We also had issues having someone clean our table. Usually this isn't bothersome but again for the price we're paying it would be nice to have the table clean. The table not being clean actually caused our main entree to be taken back into the kitchen. Our food came out but since the table wasn't cleaned and picked up the food got sent back. It wasn't until someone picked up the old plates and set silverware down that our food came out. By then a couple of the plates were cold. Some cold enough that they had to be sent back. By the time we finished our main course our second round of drinks came... which we ordered 40 minutes prior. Not only were they late but someone received the wrong drink. We spoke to the manager and he was nice and understanding but it was still a very frustrating situation. No one in our party will be returning. On our way out we also realized they handed us an empty bag without our leftover. We went back to get our food and we come to find out they threw it away. It truly felt like we were in a sitcom the whole night. We came here for two birthday dinners and unfortunately left very upset.

The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis. It was cool being able to see the dishes being plated right in front of you, but it wasn't distracting. Yes, the meal is pricey. But in my opinion, this is a one of a kind experience that you cannot get anywhere else in the city and it's well worth it for a special experience that I would be happy to recommend to anyone.

There is parking! See note at the end…read more Also note... there are three businesses under the one roof here that people could be talking about in their Yelp reviews. I've only been to the cafe, but there is also a separate, fancy-seeming restaurant as well as a boutique hotel. (Also they have a shop in South Minneapolis that has its own Yelp profile, Alma Provisions.) I definitely recommend that you try the cafe! I had a great mocha here, along with a breakfast sandwich and a carrot-apple juice. High quality all around, and all of it was enjoyed in a comfortable and beautifully decorated dining room. There is quite a lot of food on the menu; I was there for breakfast but they have a lunch menu that starts at 11am which I want to come back to try. Again, my mocha was absolutely delicious and the fresh bread really elevated that breakfast sandwich. I was here on a September Saturday morning at around 8:30 and it was very busy; the wait to order was about 15 minutes but there is enough seating that I didn't have trouble there. In addition to plenty of indoor tables, there is a lot of bar seating and a good number of patio tables. On the West side of the building is a large parking lot, most of which is for nearby apartment buildings. But there is a sign that makes it clear that the spaces numbered 1-7 are for Alma customers.

Visited the Cafe and got the Up South sandwich (again). It's definitely an eat with knife and fork…read moresandwich. Trying to hold on and bite in, everything slips out, and you don't want to risk your clothes getting dirty. The smashed potatoes seemed a bit over done this time. So much, I'm turned off from giving another try. The tables are so close together. If you're a baby who's got back, you're in for a tight squeeze, especially trying to sit in the booth.
