Their happy hour deals are also hard to beat. I tried a couple of margaritas, and they were really well made. And let's talk about those cheddar biscuits! I've only ever had the frozen version at home, so having them fresh, warm, and unlimited at the restaurant was such a fun (and delicious) surprise. Surprisingly good food, at a fair price, with excellent service (thanks Molly). We went to Red Lobster because we had a gift card. I'm a bit of a restaurant snob so I had low expectations but these expectations were exceeded in every respect. The vibe is different than I'd remembered from a decade ago - sort of a coastal casual. We started with clam chowder and a Caesar salad. The clam chowder was pretty thin and tasteless (and they insisted on comping it) , but the salad was crisp and fresh (the way it should be in a steakhouse). I had a filet steak and lobster - which was only $53. You can't buy a filet in this town for this price anymore- trust me I've looked - much less with a lobster tail. The 6oz filet was grilled perfectly, very tender and flavorful. Veggie sides were cooked perfectly. I ordered a well known to me bottle of wine (Josh Cabernet) and it was only $22 - a price I haven't seen in any restaurant since my last trip to Europe. My date ordered crab legs (it was "crab fest") and she loved them. All in with 2 drinks, plus a bottle of wine, 2 entrees, plentiful sides, came to about $150 before gift card. I'd have easily spent $100 more at a local place. During this time of skyrocketing restaurant prices, a lux bargain should not be overlooked. Would I prefer organic, farm to table, sustainable options? Sure. But Red Lobster is trying hard and mostly successful. read more

Everyone and their mother has been to a Red Lobster, so let's just dive in! The vibe right now is pretty nostalgic. I read that they were going to start remodeling locations soon, so we shall see. This location was very clean but some of the booths seating is cracking and doesn't look good. The service here was OUTSTANDING! From the time we walked in, to the time we left, everyone was absolutely fantastic! People were so nice, interacted with my boys and we were constantly being checked on! I've never had better service at a different location! The food: Since the seafood boil is all the rage right now, we tried the old bay and Parmesan. The seafood was good, but the flavor was definitely lacking. Would not get this flavor again. I would also say the feast is way better since you get two sides! The quality of the seafood was good. Have been here twice. The first time we had a wonderful server who spent time with us and really made the experience exceptional. She brought extra cheddar bay biscuits and even sent some home with us. On our second visit, we had none of that. One basket of biscuits were all we received. The food didn't seem as good either. Honestly you can't go wrong with Red Lobster (unless you have a seafood allergy of course). The fam and I went here for dinner on a Saturday. The lot was easy to park in and we only had about a 5 min wait. We got there last the dinner hour so we got to choose the booth to sit in. We got two orders of the pineapple shrimp for an appetizer. Their pineapple sauce that goes with it is delicious and we always ask for additional cups of it. For dinner we ordered the 2 pound lobster, lobster linguini, grilled trout with rice and green beans, and the chicken burger. They brought out the delicious cheddar biscuits of which we had two baskets. The food came after about 15 minutes and since they were out of 2 pound lobster they gave us the 3 at no additional cost. Win! The lobster was incredibly hard to open so our waitress got some out and then send it back to the kitchen to open. They eventually got it and brought the rest out and we feasted like kings. The food was great, although I miss their rice pilaf. The rice now has quinoa in it and the texture isn't great since the rice tastes overdone and the quinoa not enough. I've been to Red Lobster more often than I can count but have been recently impressed by their creativity in their menu and thought I'd write a review since I haven't done so in the past. I went in thinking I would get some salmon or something but noticed that they had some new additions to the menu including a King Pao pasta dish with lobster. I LOVE Asian food so this was intriguing. My mom and I ordered the dish and had them split it, so my picture here is only half a serving. It came and was quite tasty! The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce had a nice flavor but not too overpowering, and the lobster was very good. You could also get shrimp or chicken instead of lobster. I would definitely order this dish again! In addition there are those dang delicious cheddar bay biscuits!! I don't know why they are so fantastic but they are so satisfying!! The menu is nice and allows for both seafood and non-seafood choices which is nice if you are having a craving for seafood and live with someone who doesn't. First Yelp review ever. 2nd time to Red Lobster in my life. First time by accident in 1993. Asked for Red Lobster for a Christmas present 2 months ago. It happened. I went (we, sorry Goose). My GF Goose and I went ... and the experience inverted my understanding of this magnificent palace of Pacific provisions like the 4G negative inverted dive Maverick was in when Goose took that Polaroid of that Russian Mig-28 at a distance of, what, 2, 1.5 meters? We had Mackenzie (call sign Charlie when you see her, please!) as our server. She's a civilian, so you do not salute her, but she's worked at this place/base for 7 years and with that kind of clearance the Pentagon makes sure she knows more about scampi, Lobster-themed necklaces, and deep fried halibut than you do. (She was a legit 11 out of 10. Like, Top Gun good. Ask to be seated in her section). My GF, smarter than me and no stranger to this luminous langoustine, knew the inside dope and asked if she'd still win the necklace with the plastic Lobster on it if she drank the pimped out mega-pint like back in the day. Mackenzie laughed out loud, oh halcyon days! Yes they still have the drink, but the Flava-Flavesque Lobster bling had gone the way of the all you can eat shrimp. Sadness. But, wait, what is this?! We started with the seafood stuffed mushrooms. They were delicious, as expected. We both ordered the Salmon New Orleans. This is a great dish, too. It's nicely balanced and the shrimp aren't overcooked (they're in the topping/sauce). Our sides were identical, too: Garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. All were nicely prepared. Our server was a young man with a southern accent. He was nice, attentive enough, and also gave us space to enjoy our meal and conversation. You might be thinking that having an "unremarkable" experience at Red Lobster isn't anything to write about. Yet, it is. Both me and my bestie had not-so-great experiences at the Bloomington location. This is why we went to the Roseville location. I'm sure that we'll eventually be back in Bloomington. Neither of us wanted to head in that direction, as I live closer to Roseville than I do Bloomington. Of course, I didn't mention the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. I have a few go-to's when ordering. #1 Cajun Chicken Pasta Absolutely phenomenal! The creamy pasta sauce with the well seasoned, juicy Cajun chicken is my favorite! I order it every time, even if I just take it to go. #2 1lb Snow Crab I love seafood and I am a sucker for some good crab legs (you're probably thinking, they're just crab legs but I've had some bad experiences ie; soggy) I believe this comes with 2 sides and I typically get Mashed Potatoes with a side of Jalapeño Ranch and a Vegetable (I dip the mashed into the jalapeño ranch) #3 Fish Tacos I adore the fish tacos for 2 reasons! The fish is soft and grilled to perfection, and the jalapeño ranch sauce they use is phenomenal. Those are my top 3 go-to's! If I don't stop now, I could go on forever! People waiting for tables are wandering the lobby. Trying to exercise patience, I wait until 7.40 when someone finally comes out with the order. Was looking to get an order of one of their favorites delivered. I chose carefully from their app and expected to get a lot more than what I got. They offered a create your own 2 entre selections for $20.99 which I ordered figuring I'd get enough to last me a few meals. The order received was a standard order of Walts for which RL charges $16.99. Only a 4 difference, but I feel that $4 was taken with a gun. RL conveniently does not explain the create your own selection contains 1/2 the regular order. What else are they hiding? Won't be finding out ANY time soon. We were not happy with our visit. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed with waiters and waitresses were working too many tables and thus, not able to keep up. We had to actually call someone over to our table when no one ever showed up to start drink orders. When we opened our silverware from the napkin roll, it was dirty. Several pieces in a few different napkin rolls were dirty and had stuff stuck onto it. It had clearly gone through the wash but wasn't actually clean... and then it was just rolled into a napkin. Gross. My husband ordered the 4-course meal. His main course showed up before the soup. The waiter said the soup would be coming soon. It never came. The restaurant did compensate us with free kids sundaes since the soup never came, but still... that's not OK to just skip part of the meal. The food itself was ok. I had the lobster tacos. I really wanted this Asian-style shrimp dish they offer, but it's made with broccoli. Apparently the restaurant ran out of broccoli, so I had to choose something else. My food tasted good, but it just wasn't what I wanted to eat. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because our waiter was actually a nice guy. I felt bad for him. He was trying to keep guests happy (and there were other upset guests at nearby tables), and the issues we had weren't all his fault. He was trying his best to make up for the faults of the restaurant. Red Lobster, hire more servers. I've had one bad experience here regarding two extremely rude host staff members when my husband and I were trying to be seated for dinner. (July 2013) I immediately asked to speak to a manager once we were seated at a booth and so I allowed them to make it up to me by offering a free appetizer. After that experience, I didn't come back here for a year. But I'm back now. And it seems as though everything has turned around. Maybe the change in management from Darden to Golden Gate Capital has done a world of good. The service is always exemplary, and the food quality is consistently good which is what keeps me coming back. I'm willing to put aside some mild service irritations such as slowness in bringing water, extra cheddar biscuits and salads. Once the food arrives, it puts me in such a good mood that I'm ready to forgive all and just enjoy myself! I seriously think they have some of the tastiest wood-grilled salmon ever. I enjoy their daily Fresh Fish selections with a side of drawn butter. Caesar Salad is a great choice and they also offer different potato sides and vegetables with your meal. Try the Rice Pilaf for something different. I usually get their Create Your Own selections, and I like the shrimp linguine Alfredo, the Coconut Shrimp that comes with that sweet pina colada dipping sauce, and the Garlic shrimp scampi that comes to you in a little dish swimming in lemon and garlic butter. My absolute favorite entree is the Ultimate Feast. Lobster tail, snow crab legs, two preparations of shrimp, a loaded potato, caesar salad, and a basket of cheesy garlic biscuits all for $28? Are you kidding me with this?! It's like the freaking seafood jackpot!! Do not miss out on the caesar salad - their dressing is creamy and so tasty you'll want to lick the plate. If you're looking for something less likely to create a budda belly, they offer some great healthy fish, creative appetizers, and a variety of land and seafood. I typically get pretty good service at Red Lobster and always feel welcome. However, they don't take any reservations so it's always a risk that you may hit during a busy time and need to wait for a long time. Yes, I said it, Procedure, call me an organization freak/geek but kudos to Red Lobster for embracing change and making things more efficient. When you get your first order of shrimp, before you are even finished, they are asking you what you want next so as to not waste time. Good for us so we can keep the shrimp coming in and good for them to minimize the length of stay so to maximize profits by keeping the tables full. Our food tonight was really good. It was served hot, fast, and tasted good. We had the new grilled shrimp, Parmesan scampi, regular fried shrimp, and shrimp linguine. The linguine was really awesome, better than most Italian restaurants. I didn't care for the spicy grilled shrimp but my daughter loved them. Try them all! That's what the endless means right? The waitress was so amazing, sweet, energetic, friendly, attentive,she quickly turned my mood around. Everything was speedy and the food was hot and so good! I did have an oops moment with my food and quietly told a passing waitress who took my plate and sent out the manager. I didn't want anything from them since most of my food was perfect but he insisted on not only removing my food from the bill but providing me desert as well. It was over the top professionalism and service from the moment we arrived until we left. I have always had really great service at Red Lobster by all the servers. He made sure to offer us biscuits right out of the oven. Stopped in for lunch and to take advantage of their shrimp fest promo. Lots of shrimp for only $15.99. There were 5 choices to choose from. The scampi and hand battered were the best. The sweet and spicy skewer thing was not the greatest .I didn't care for the sauce that was brushed on. We went to this location on 9/16/2018 for all you can eat shrimp. Our server was Angie and she was fantastic !!!! The first plates were a little slow coming out but every shrimp refill after was brought pretty quickly, our drinks were refilled fast and she never left the table without asking what else we wanted to order. The only sad part was that she only brought 3 biscuits to our table and never brought more.
