3 item BBQ plate on a Sunday show day
    Nicole B.

Review is for a show we went to on a Sunday, which included the chance to buy some bbq. Venue was so pretty. Small and intimate with plenty of seating. Sound quality was great for an outdoor venue. BBQ was generous and not bad for a steam table situation. The hubby and I split a 3 item plate with pulled pork, ribs and brisket which included beans, coleslaw, corn bread and watermelon. We could barely finish it. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were several bars open so lines would be two people max at any given time. Would definitely go again for a show.

Had a wonderful evening recently at Rancho Nicasio for a concert on the lawn. We had purchased tickets in advance and showed up just minutes before show time. We were able to get 2 seats at a table not far from the outdoor stage where the Sun Kings Acoustic Duo performed. These two artists played and sang as if Paul McCartney and John Lennon were right in front of us. It was a wonderful evening with really great music. We could have ordered dinner and arrived early but this time we just had beverages (and a desert). I ordered their house Sangri and my wife enjoyed a glass of wine. And we shared the Churro with ice cream. We had such a good time, when we got home we purchased tickets for another concert later this summer - and we plan on going early and having their BBQ Dinner.

A couple of us found the Rancho Nicasio restaurant on our way home and stopped in. It looks like it has been around for a long time and it has a lot of fun summer activities planned. There is a large dining area as well as a large bar. A lot of wood and a comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs over easy and a coffee. Others in the group ordered fish and chips and fried chicken sandwiches. The fried chicken sandwich was okay, the bread had no flavor. The fish and chips were good and crisp with good flavor. The chicken fried steak was okay, not the best of flavor and a little chewy. The eggs and potatoes were very good. Unfortunately my coffee was barely warm. The staff were very friendly and the service was good. It looks like they have a lot of activities planned for the summer and we will be back to check out their BBQ's and music. Nicasio is a quaint little town.

On a road trip, tripped on this place. Score a great place for a quick stop or hanging out to take in the picturesque setting. The Pups enjoyed the new smells. The selection of food has something for almost everyone. Would be nice to have water bowls for pups and a simple food item. We started with BAKED GARLIC ASIAGO OYSTERS half dozen $20. KALE SALAD $14. peanut cilantro dressing, red cabbage, carrots, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries: ADULT GRILLED CHEESE 18 Nicasio Valley Tomino cheese, apple chutney, tomatoes, caramelized onions All three were very Tasty.

The Tommy Castro concert yesterday was good as usual but not everyone cared for the new 'dancing area' separating the rows of chairs that really was more of a pit or standing area than anything else... Sure hope that is isn't permanent!

Found this place after a hike at devils gulch. If you enjoy a small town feel, this place is it. Situated next to a baseball field, apparently this place comes to life with music events and bbq. Definitely a lot of entertainment for a place seeming to be hidden. I got the fish and chips, the fish was very good, the chips were steak fries, which are my fav. The service was very good. We ended up at the bar in the front of the rest-truant and caught a little bit of a band . Definitely nice vibes and would definitely return.

Food and service were great! Loved this little gem of a place. It's big inside with tons of rooms and a nice looking outdoor area. Looking forward to coming back soon!

We enjoyed the jumbo pub wings in the jerk dry rub and sweet chili flavors, a rueben sandwich with hand cut fries, and a burren burger with hand cut fries. We visited during a world cup soccer game and the atmosphere was that of a pub or sports bar with lively cheering fans and regulars. I highly recommend trying it if you're in the area.

It was tossed in a curry sauce and served in a paper bag (but they gave me a plate too), and a side of more curry sauce. There was a crazy amount of food in the bag. I couldn't even eat half of it before I was stuffed. I made a comment to the waitress, and she said they have big servings there. While the food was good, I did think it was way too much, which I couldn't even take with me because I was going to the movies and then taking the train home. I wish establishments like these served less food, and lowered the prices. The spice bag was $23 or $25. If you're not a big eater, or not super hungry, you might share a plate rather then get two entrees. Ask how much food you'll get.

My boyfriend's eggs were runny despite having asked for them to be scrambled hard. My niece didn't like her pancakes, and the group generally felt the food was bland. The service was also spotty. After remaking my boyfriend's eggs they forgot his toast. Then when the toast came they forgot the jam. The waitress didn't ask about drink refills, though she did refill my coffee. The ambiance was fine, but not the special holiday brunch spot we had imagined. Next time we'll find a different Larkspur restaurant.

I honestly didn't realize how much I'd enjoy playing pinball until coming here--there aren't many spots that have that kind of unique feature anymore, and it really added to the experience. I went for a Yelp Elite event, and it was great. The owner was there and super welcoming, and his staff were genuinely nice and attentive. We were given bracelets that gave us access to two drinks, which was a fun self-pour experience. That said, it would've been helpful to get a quick tip on pouring (like tilting your glass) beforehand--foam can sneak up on you fast , especially with so many people around. Because it was busy, we were also given a card that allowed unlimited access to the games, which was awesome and made the night even better. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The owner also mentioned that you can rent individual tables or even the whole venue for events, which is something I'd absolutely consider in the future. I'll definitely be back.

The hostess was really nice and she said no worries we can get you a table. There was only two of us so that's probably why it wasn't a problem. We sat down and right away they brought us water to the table. Our waiter came over shortly afterwards to see if we wanted drinks. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and the smoked wings and wedge salad to start. Our wines came out right away and then our wings and salad. It was pretty quick considering they looked pretty busy. Of course the wines were delicious (Zin, Pinot Noir). The salad was pretty basic wedge but good and they made it for two which was good. The wings were cooked perfect, just enough smoke on them, and a little crispy. For our entree we ordered the Ribeye to split between us. The ribeye came out not to much later, it looked good. They also split that for us so that was really nice. The Ribeye was cooked perfect (med rare), a good grill marks on it, great seasoning on it. It came with a herb butter and some kind if dipping sauce as well. Both were really flavorful but the herb butter was the best. Also, the mini baked potato was delicious as well. The steak didn't even need any sauces because the seasoning flavor was already there. For dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding. It was the best Sticky Toffee pudding I've ever had. I wanted to lick the plate dry. Kiudos. The service was pretty good throughtout the dinner which was nice. I thought they wouldve comped the dessert since it was my girlfriends birthday but they didn't but that's ok.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.
