I've been coming here for a year, and this place is fantastic. The communication is excellent, and the staff is always kind, professional, and supportive. Reading some of the negative reviews, it's hard not to notice how much some people seem to focus on finding fault. The team here works hard every day and provides a valuable service. Instead of looking for reasons to complain, perhaps more people should recognize the effort and care that goes into what they do. Four visits to Rand in the last year for the family. Each visit, we ended up waiting beyond the appointment time. Last night was the last straw. Not only was the office running late, nobody even gave the courtesy to come out and make mention how late they were running. We left without seeing the dentist and asked to be removed from the patient list. You can do better Rand, that was an awful patient experience. read more

I have been its patient for a few years. All was fine until last treatment. It was kind of ridiculous and greedy. The fillings they proposed last year were not covered by the insurance. They said I would pay $700 dollars without insurance. For that reason only I purchased a second insurance for this year. I would pay $200 dollars out of pocket. I paid $270 when the fillings were done in April. In August, new bills were coming saying I owed them $260 dollars! I checked with them, they billed insurance for over $2000 and insurance covered $700. They still charged me for over $550. One charge was back to February hygiene, for some cancer screening which was never heard of. People are nice there though. But you know and feel that they are doing whatever they can for money. read more

I received a text message saying I had a balance due.  OK, I'm confused. This is the 1st I'm learning about a balance due and am concerned. I clicked on the link provided but it didn't provide detail. Wow, this is great. How do I know I owe you this? To pay the balance I had to provide a credit card but could not make a one time payment?   No heads and asking me to let them charge me without a heads up? I don't know about you but I'm not giving anyone free access to charge me anytime they want. Especially if I don't know its coming. Not sure who thought this up but wow. I can think of a few NSFW analogies. I tried calling their office but It was a Friday afternoon and the dentist's office was closed so had to wait till Monday to find out what was going on. Great! I call on money and find out: 1. it wasn't my balance - it was my wife's and daughter's copayment and deductible.  Detail should have been provided for clarity. 2. I was told they are going paperless so would not send me a bill - printed or electronic.   I asked how am I supposed to know what I owe you? They said I can determine what I owed by reviewing my insurance claim payment statements from my insurance company. Really? Have you ever added up all the balance due from all the claim forms you get? 3. I finally got them to send me a ledger which is a printout of the 60 transactions on the account. Not exactly easy to read. While the staff has been friendly this is crazy.   Every other business actually gives you a bill - printed or electronic. What makes you think you don't have to? I guess I'll be sending a not to the NJ government. I'm all for paperless but nothing at all is just lazy. read more

Beware! I was a customer with Rand for years and never had a problem. It was when I was offered an additional service that I was ensured would be covered (which they checked in their computer with my insurance and everything) and was later sent a bill for hundreds of dollars. I then called the office and got the response from the office manager Preenel that it was not in fact covered but she would reach out to my insurance again to see if it could be covered, which they denied again. When they denied it the second time I never received a call from the office but instead got a letter saying the bill was going to go to collections. This is after she instructed me not to pay it until they got a response. This is such poor business practice! They assure you a service is covered then hit you with a bill for hundreds of dollars and say "well you did sign paperwork when you became a customer that you would be responsible for anything not covered." They told me it was covered. I feel very scammed by this office. read more

Very bad customer service! Today, 5/4/23; I came here around 4 pm, as a new patient to get an appointment for cleaning. I was standing ( lobby is empty), two employees one has mask and small optic on her face ( is she going to go back and bring that dirt and bacteria back to her patients?) Reception guy and that woman was laughing at something they read on computer while two of us ( a woman with appointment) and I just stood there waiting. Now. What where they laughing at; at the middle of their work day? Someone's teeth X-rays? Facebook post? Unprofessional! When those two finished laughing, the woman with optics on her face, pointed to the reception window to get the reception guy' attention that someone is actually there. Then he opened his window and let the woman tell him what she needed. I left. This is horrible service. I am also Will be pulling my family from there. read more

Exceptional service, starts with the welcoming people at the front desk to wonderful doctors that patiently and professionally took care of me and my kids teeth to the accommodations they offer for follow up appointments. Had to get a tooth extracted and the first dentist who "tried" seriously just used a pliers and nearly gave me whiplash. He eventually have up Went to go see Dr Karim here and it was a world of difference. He took the time to investigate my mouth and extract my tooth with what seemed like comparatively futuristic tools. There was no pain and very little pressure and definitely no whiplash. Today Rand Center for Dentistry redeemed themselves from last week. I moved into this area 3 years ago. I transitioned to having them service my entire family. They were always okay. The work done has always been decent. But last week I didn't like my experience. I understand with COVID they put in place procedures that make the most sense for them. BUT they asked me to come to the appointment 15 minutes earlier, and they had me do an online covid form. They had me wait in my car 20 minutes. They had me do the paper version of the covid form. So, they had me waste a lot of time. I was upset. I walked in and NOT ONE PERSON offered me any insight to what was going on that day because they were obviously struggling with scheduling and staffing. And NOT ONE PERSON apologized. The front desk is nice enough but they need to step up their customer service. I did speak to someone about what happened last week. BUT TODAY was so much better. There wasn't any waiting and the dental hygienist NALONIE was amazing with my son. She even walked him back to my car. Her bedside manner saved them from losing a family of 4 as patients and saved me from researching and going to a new Dentist. read more

This place took 6 months to fix my husbands teeth and they are so horribly messed up. Stay away.

I was very impressed by this Dental Office. Their staff are all very well trained. Everyone from the front desk to the dental assistants, to the specialist were all so kind and very knowledgeable and made me feel very welcomed. When I came in with my daughter one of the staff brought in a chair so I could sit with my daughter while she got her examination. Rand Dental has a nice waiting room. They even have machines that dispense toys for the children for a quarter. My daughter saw Dr. Kim the Orthodontist and he answered every single question I had, and when I wasn't sure about a procedure for my daughter he gave me an alternative suggestion. When checking out, I spoke to Cheryl at the desk. She was so nice and suggested we wait 1/2 hour and have impressions taken , so we don't have to make the hour trip back again. She wanted to forward my daughters impressions to the insurance company to get approval for an upcoming procedure. Rand Dental can take care of all your dental needs for a fraction of what other dentists would charge. For me that's important, because dentists can be so very pricy. This place has an entire wing from normal cleaning, oral surgery, orthodontist, periodontist, etc all in one place. Rand dental accepts many insurances and will check ahead of time before any major procedures are done. Rand dental is located right off RT 206 in Flanders. They have plenty of parking. They accept children through adults as patients. I will be returning again very soon. read more

Rand sent me a text last week to confirm today's 11am appointment, which I confirmed. 2 hours before the appointment they sent another text saying the appointment is at 10:45. with such little notice, I couldn't get there early. I did fill out all of the paperwork online. I arrived at 10:55. another patient was checking in, so I patiently waited in line behind him. at 11:00 the receptionist called my cell asking if I was still coming in. I said "I'm right here" - literally standing in front of her. so she said she checked me in, but no one came to get me for 30 minutes. that's when I told the receptionist I was leaving. ive never been impressed there, and this was the last straw. read more

I have been a patient at Rand dental for 10-15 years, I would say over the last year I haven't been impressed- I recently went in and had x-rays taken, told I needed a root canal but they cant do it or get it authorized within the next month and 2 weeks because then they wont be accepting my insurance come sept 31, as I work in medical and do authorizations I know it does not take that long, I just feel its bad patient care. my youngest daughter developed a severe fear of dentists because of a dental assistant must of been having a bad day, with that fear we now have to have all dental work done in an OR. Don't get me wrong I think the place is clean and the staff is great and very friendly and the dentists are excellent. read more

The service at Rand Dental is great, the problem I have is that if you're even 10 minutes late, they'll cancel your appointment. (It's happened to me.) Yet, myself and my four children were on time for their appointments on Wednesday, but we were made to wait for 45 minutes until my first child was even seen! If I'd been 45 minutes late to the appointment, they for sure would've canceled it. I'm also upset about them no longer accepting Medicaid HMO's. Now, I'll have to find a new dentist for my children. It's ridiculous. I don't think that my kids should receive under rate dental care, just because they're on Medicaid. It's not fair. Now, we'll most likely have to go far away to get them a dentist. Rand Dental needs to be true to their clientele. It's not right to discriminate against patients just because they don't have the right insurance. read more

Don't go here, they care way more about milking as much money out you as they can far more than what's best for your mouth. I had 8 teeth pulled on 1 day (due to covid restrictions and just trying to get in the office) and my prosthetic took almost 10 months!!! for 4 appointments. The dr (nice lady) only could come in twice a month, would probably make most people reconsider the whole no teeth for a year thing. The best part of all of it is after I got my prosthetic after nearly a year of waiting... they blacklisted me. "That dr Rand" fellow wasn't my primary dentist yet almost micromanaged my case? I would see him around me constantly without him actually doing any care to my mouth. Every visit I'd wait almost 40 minutes but as others have said if you're 5 minutes late they'd cancel your appointment. To top it all of if you feel pain I'd get met with a "be a man about it" just to delegitimize the pain I was feeling. I can go on and on about how if you talked to one receptionist (over a series of months) no other receptionist would have it on file or know what you're talking about! Truly if one assistant didn't stand up and help me through that hell of telephone I'd still be toothless. I can't tell you where to go instead but definitely don't go here. Very disappointed with the professionalism. My dental work took so many month. Dentures should have not taken so long. Not as good work as I thought. I wanted to try have the doctors to either correct or replace. I was not able to go and see anyone as as of September my Insurance will not be accepted. The practice is dropping many insurances. Even though I should have been able to have my dental work corrected. I was told my insurance would run out before finishing. If the work had not taken so long I would not be reviewing. I can only speak for the ortho side so this review is only about that. Took my daughter here a couple of years ago for a free consult. Ortho evaluated her, said they'd sent a pre-determination to the insurance company to determine coverage and then call me to schedule. Two months later, I call them. Oh, we need to do x-rays and pictures. So I bring her back for X-rays and pictures. They give me a price breakdown which I sign saying I received it and they tell me they'll call to schedule something once the doctor reviews the X-rays and pictures. Guess what never happens? So I decided to take my daughter elsewhere a few months later only to find that Rand billed my insurance company and was paid by them for braces they never put on my daughter! My insurance company had to go after them to get their money back and undo the claim so we could then get our benefits at the new place. read more

We had a very bad experience here. We started going there because my husband insurance doesn't cover many places. My husband went for a rework on a root canal 3 years ago. Rand had requested approval from insurance and was denied but never told my husband so he went ahead with the procedure. Two years later we receive a bill for over $1000. When I called they said insurance had denied it and they never mentioned it to us and now wanted payment. Well because they sat on he bill for so long my husbands secondary insurance and HRA won't pay it. Now they are demanding payment for a bill that is 3 years old. Also my mother brought my children there for their regular check up and said that the dentist was yelling at her and my children so now they are afraid to go to the dentist. read more

COMPLETELY UNETHICAL!!!! I went to Rand 2009. As soon as I saw the sub-par office I should have hit the road. I had two insurances My own and The Wife's. What One insurance doesn't cover the other one does. That's how it works. Almost five years later I receive a bill from them for $7 on my account and $47 on my wife's and another $47 on my son's account. We placed over 12 phone calls to try and clear this up and each time we were told someone would get back to us. Needless to say not one call was returned. A few weeks later I received a subpoena in the mail. They were suing me. Rather than pay I decided to fight it in court. When I got there Rand Dental was suing at least a dozen other schmucks for the same Bull S. I went to mitigation rather than waste the entire day waiting for a trial. I agreed to pay 1/2 the bill. I wouldn't go to this scam artist if my teeth were falling out of my head! read more

Brought wife here with a root canal toothache, after some uncalled for "cleaning" -paid by insurance anyway- some Dentist just comes in the room and literally spends 5 seconds in room to say "we can't help you in this office" you need to go see another dentist, then had the nerves to send a bill for $225.00 for the "observation" Not to mention the terrible orthodontic work they did for one of my kids...there are way way much better dental practices around. read more

Horrible!! Get a new endodontist!!! After many visits and being told I DONT need a root canal and just having occlusions done a few times, ohhhh all of a sudden I DO need a root canal which I had. Pain still existed a week later, went back and guess what?? All you need is an occlusion AGAIN which of course I'm charged for. Was told to go ahead and get the crown which I held off because I still felt pain. Called again was told to give it some time and still keep appt for crown. Screw that! Cancelled crown to see and the Pain still exists!!! Finding NEW DENTIST/ENDODONTIST and NEVER GOING BACK!! STEER CLEAR OF RAND! ****UPDATE, went to a real dental office, had 3D scan and they found INTERNAL FRACTURE!! I will never waste our time going here again. After driving over 40 minutes to get to this office they informed me that they cancelled my appointment. There was ZERO reason to do that, all the paperwork had been filled out and we had talked to the office not even two days ago confirming the appointment. As far as the Orthodontics goes, very limited hours on scheduling. Their only there select days and hours especially for the amount of patients, making appointments difficult especially after school hours. Most of the staff is rude. Staff thinks its fine to repeatedly say comments for broken brackets etc.to your child and ask them over and over accusing them of lying. Very unprofessional meanwhile parent is paying for broken brackets and appliances. Orthodontist not very personable to say the least. Braces were on twice as long as they said they would be , you would think they would have a much better estimate of time considering that's what they do. If i was to do it again would definitely have researched and selected another office to use. Beware. read more

This was the WORST dental experience I have ever had! I told the doctor that I had some mild pain in my molar. They took X-rays and weren't sure what was going on but decided to replace the filling. I had to ask them to stop multiple times due to pain. In the parking lot, I started to feel pain in my ear. The next few days the pain intensified. I called the ENT and was treated for TMJ. I then went to the oral surgeon 4 days after the first visit to Rand dental, and it was determined it was my tooth! I had the tooth extracted, which was cracked all the way down to the nerve! I called Rand Dental to let them know what happened, and left a message for Dr. Rand. I never even received a call back! I had thought that having an oral surgeon and endodontist on staff is a good idea, although when the doctor saw me initially and wasn't sure what was going on with my tooth, she didn't consult either of them!!! WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN! P read more

Negative stars! This is the worst Dental facility ever! The doctor did not explain anything. His work was rushed and all he did was suggest unnecessary work to make an insurance claim. I left in more pain than I was when I walked in!! I also received a follow-up call the next day and was advised that I should come back in--Are you kidding me? Very unprofessional. They do not live up to their commitments Managers never return phone calls. I was charged for an exam for some prosthodontics work. That was back in August of this year It is now October 10 2018. I have called two or three times never a return call back. My credit card was charged No plan was ever delivered. Being in business for 30 years if I did not deliver a Bid or quote in a timely manner the customer was on to the next Vendor. So guess what I am stopping payment and retrieving my records. I'm in a lot of pain on the right side of my mouth after my consultation they said they were giving me the earliest appointment today is July 12th the appointment was for December 7th to get the tooth fixed I could not believe it when they said that then they sent me a thing to review them so I gave them a 100% true bad review within48 hours there is a letter at my house kicking me my wife and three kids out of Rand dental I didn't mind because we already found another dentist that will take me to this month to get my tooth fixed but that just goes to show they don't like bad reviews they only want your positive reviews I should have listened to other people when they told me they are nothing but hack artist read more
