Update: a friend wanted the vehicle to see if he could get it running in his spare time. A few months later, he told me that I wouldn't believe what he found. He stated that he found three of the fuel injectors that weren't reconnected when Central Automotive was messing with the vehicle.. Once he reconnected the fuel injectors, the vehicle ran fine. So, basically we were out of vehicle due to the incompetence of this facility. If Tom, at Central Automotive, would have just checked his work, they should have found that and I would still have the vehicle today. Instead, I had to purchase another vehicle, which I did not want to do at the time. Update 2: Spoke with Tom today and his excuse for his lies about the vehicle not having oil in it was that he misspoke because according to the record he has it did have oil in it. His excuse for not reconnecting the 3 fuel injectors was because "we are human and humans make mistakes". But, honest, ethical humans would check their work to make sure they had not made a mistake when asked to do so. Which he would not. And, they would not suggest that I trade a vehicle that they knew had issues. He asked what I wanted from him. I said to sincerely apologize and consider at least a partial refund. He said that he fixed my vehicle (he made it worse) and I already gave him a bad review. So that was not an option. Very dishonest, unethical person!!!! read more

Been a customer for years. Good shop, nice folks but the garage guys are horrible! I kept my mouth shut hoping things would get better, didn't happen. EVERYTIME I get my car back it's filthy inside and everything moved. Today, my seat was slid backwards almost to the trunk. Mechanic left red dirt on door sill. Worst of all, I have black grease everywhere he touched because he couldn't be bothered to wash his hands. Oh yeah, two nice scuff marks on the door where he decided to kick open the door instead of get out the old fashioned way! Never again! read more

Very bad customer service since Randy Hall sold.. Plus oil change for a honda car was $85 and failed inspection for tires with tread life over the wear bars. The honda dealership is cheaper then this place!!! Will never be back again. read more

Do not bring your car here. They are overpriced. I brought in my 14 year old SUV for a minor repair. I did my research, and knew what to expect. These people mark-up their prices 300%. I'm not talking about labor prices, which are pretty standard. I'm talking about a part, which sells normally for $140.00, and they sell it for triple the price. They rely on people's ignorance to get away with overcharging. Also, they are great to tell you a simple fix will require taking apart a lot of unnecessary parts, in order to charge you more for labor. They are a waste of time, and especially money. I bet a real car dealer would be more reasonably priced. My advice, read reviews, do your research, and if you can't do that, you deserve to be taken advantage of. read more

Randy is awesome! I plan to drive from Charlotte to Salisbury for my car's maintenance because of my experience with him! He is a mechanic I can trust! Here's my story: I was driving from Charlotte to Greenville, NC for work in the rain and fog, after a full day. I had known one of my tail lights was out prior to my drive, but when two cars flashed their lights at me from behind I pulled off the exit and realized both of my tail lights were out. And since here's so much construction and the storm, I didn't feel safe driving. I googled mechanics and found Randy Halls automotive was the closest. I stopped by 4 minutes before he closed and he initially advised that he can help me in the morning. Since I had to be in Greenville for work the next morning at 9 and I knew I couldn't drive in the storm with no tail lights, I decided I'd just get a hotel in Salisbury and restart in the morning. But as I was sitting in my car, about to reserve a hotel nearby, Randy knocked on my window and told me to pull up and he'll check my bulbs for me. He was able to get new bulbs in my tail lights!! He saved me over $100 on the hotel and made me feel so much safer continuing my 4 hour night drive and literally made my crappy day brighter (pun intended!)! Took my vehicle to Randy Hall for diagnosis after it would stall every time you put it in gear . I called first and a guy told me 65.00 for the diagnosis . a few days and 266.00 later they told me it needed a PCM and they couldn't fix it , it would have to go to the dealer . I had it towed a second time to a dealership , it sat at the dealer for a week before they could get it in the shop . Yesterday the dealer got it in , diagnosed and repaired it by noon . It needed a MAP sensor and cost me 191.00 , something Randy Hall could have easily replaced if it had been diagnosed properly when he had it . I called today , asked to speak to Randy and someone else told me he was running the shop . I asked for some help with what they charged me for a misdiagnosis and he said he would call me back , which he did and told me they don't give refunds , said he worked on my car himself and that what I told him didn't make sense . He then proceeded to insinuate that I was lying and had a PCM put in my car . Rather than consider the fact that he made the wrong diagnosis . I offered the invoice from the dealership that actually fixed my car but he didn't care . I paid less to have my car repaired than I paid Randy Hall for a misdiagnosis . I will never take another vehicle there and will tell everyone I know what happened . That place is nothing but C techs and oil changers at Best . read more

These guys are GREAT! Let me tell you my tale of woe that thankfully had a happy ending. The family and I were driving to Northern Virginia for a wedding when the alternator in our 2013 Pathfinder died a spectacular and horrible death right outside Randleman, NC. We called our insurance company as we have roadside assistance and they had us towed to the closest shop which was a tiny little independent shop. The folks at this shop in Randleman agreed that it was indeed the alternator, but they could not get the part that day. We rented a car in Asheboro, transferred our luggage, headed north, and made it to the wedding, but we had to leave our Pathfinder in Randleman. When we returned on Monday, the little shop had it ready and we headed home. Three weeks later the new alternator died. GRRRRRR!! I called the little shop and they explained that they are a NAPA Certified Auto Repair Center and since they did the work, and the reconditioned, but new-to-me, alternator came from NAPA, everything was warrantied. They let me know that the NAPA Certified Auto Repair Center in Salisbury is Randy Hall Automotive. I knew the business, but had never been there. I called the shop and explained the situation and they said to bring the car in. They got the part the next day, got it installed and told me to pick the car up. I got there, the car was ready to go and there was no charge. This was great!! I was so pleased because an alternator swap in a 2013 Pathfinder is a 6 hour job and if the part and labor was not warrantied, this would have been an EXPENSIVE proposition. Well fast forward two weeks and we are driving to the Outer Banks and a warning light comes on in the instrument cluster saying there is an airbag malfunction. Huh. That's weird. I drop the car at the Nissan dealership in Salisbury when we got back from the beach and about three hours later the service manager calls me and says, "Um, have you had any work done on this car?" I explained about the alternator and he says, "Well it looks like when they removed the radiator to get to the alternator, they did not disconnect one of the airbag sensors, so the sensor is damaged, the radiator mount that holds the sensor is damaged and the wiring harness was ripped apart, mangled and very poorly patched. To get all of this fixed is going to be a little over two grand." My jaw dropped to the floor. Now, you know what my problem was - who did the damage? Was it the little shop in Randleman? Was it Randy Hall Automotive? I did not know and there was no way to know. So I called NAPA Corporate and got a local territory manager on the phone and explained my predicament. He got back to me the next day and said that I was to call Randy Hall and they would "help me out." Now, can you imagine my anxiety about that statement? What does that mean exactly? Well here is what it meant: I called Randy Hall and spoke to Brian. He said he had spoken to the guy from NAPA, was aware of my situation, and said to bring the car up and they would take a look. Well I did just that yesterday and today I picked the car up, with all the repairs, radiator mount, wiring harness, and airbag sensor done, with no charge. Remember I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE. What I do know is they took responsibility for my issue and corrected it with no drama. So they either stand behind their work and correct it when it is not done right or they know how to work within the NAPA system to make sure that a customer is properly taken care of when it is another NAPA Certified Repair Center's fault. Honestly, I don't care which it is, because both are awesome. If you need an independent shop in Salisbury, I enthusiastically encourage you to check out Randy Hall Automotive. I used to go to Randy Halls as well, but got concerned and irritated on couple of times. There prices for repair are unusually high and aren't fixed right the first time. They seem disorganized too. I went at 7:30am for tire rotation, sat for 45 min for them to tell me, the mechanic didn't show up. Last time I was ever there. read more

HONEST... and they do good work too! I took my car to the "dealership" for a simple state inspection. They failed it saying that I have to have over $1000 in critical repairs done to pass inspection. I found out that Randy Hall had hired away one of the dealer's master mechanics and a service writer. I took my car there expecting repairs to be needed, but at a more reasonable price. The mechanic showed me that the problem was minor and inspected my car. He also explained what to look for, in case it really did become a problem. All it cost me was the cost of the state inspection. I later found out that the dealer pays their mechanic commission of parts, etc. - Randy Hall does NOT pay their mechanics that way, to avoid this kind of customer "miss-treatment". I used to be a regular customer of this shop--reasonable prices for automotive work. However, I will never go back. I took my car there for a simple repair, paid, and was satisfied. Not for long. Later that day, I was driving through town when all of a sudden my car started to accelerate at an increased speed without me giving it any gas. I managed to use the emergency brake and get it back to the shop--scared to death--and found out that when they were under the hood earlier, they had loosened a valve that dealt with the gas pedal ( forgive me, I'm not a car person and I don't know the technical term). They acted as if it wasn't even a big deal, and didn't compensate me in any way. I will never return. Don't use this shop if you value your safety and peace of mind. read more

There have been times when I thought something was wrong they checked it and found nothing and did not charge extra for checking everything to make sure it is running right! Be sure to get a written quote if you go here. I called three different times and got three different estimates for the service I needed. When they called me to tell me what the actual price would be once they had my car torn apart it was $200 more! Only after I challenged them about the price and confronted them with information about my phone calls they "adjusted" the bill down $100. So I got stuck paying an extra $100 because I didn't have a written estimate. Lesson learned, and passed along to any who will read this post. read more
