Review of Beamer Auto, Aaron Lane, Clinton MD I rarely write…read morereviews, and I especially dislike leaving negative ones, but auto repair is expensive, and it all comes down to trust. I've been taking my vehicles (BMW X5 and Mercedes E350) to Beamer Auto since 2022. Up until recently, they consistently provided good service at a fair price. Unfortunately, my last two experiences have completely changed my opinion. About 8 months ago, I brought in my X5. Communication was poor--I had to call several times just to get updates and an estimate. Since I trusted them from prior service, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to a bad day. This last visit today, with my E350, however, was unacceptable. I emailed in advance detailing the issues and received a confirmation for a 10 AM appointment on Thursday, September 18. When I arrived, the front desk person (Aaron) asked me to repeat everything instead of checking the email. I explained two issues: 1. The driver seat not returning fully upright (a sensor recalibration Beamer had fixed for me two years ago). 2. The passenger side headlight was flickering and going out intermittently. I was told I'd get a call with an estimate. Hours passed with no update. I called around 3:30 PM, no answer, and their voicemail was full. Eventually, they called me back but admitted they hadn't even looked at my car yet. Approx 4:30, I called again, because they close at 5:30. This time, Aaron said they wouldn't get to it that day but promised it would be checked first thing in the morning. The next day, still no call all morning. Frustrated, I drove 40 minutes back to the shop around 1 PM to pick up my vehicle. My car was sitting exactly where I left it. After waiting while Aaron looked at the computer and asking me the same question again about my car, I was told they couldn't fix the seat issue and that I'd need to go to the dealer (even though they had repaired the exact same problem less than two years ago). Then he incorrectly stated it was my driver-side headlight that was bad, when in fact it was the passenger side--the issue I had clearly outlined multiple times. Despite their lack of communication, inaccurate assessment, and the fact that my car hadn't moved, I was charged $158.75 for a diagnostic check. Based on my experience, I don't believe they even looked at the vehicle. After three years as a loyal customer, Beamer Auto has lost my trust and my business. If you're considering them, proceed with caution--buyer beware.

I have visited this shop twice to confirm my "car problems" that were reported on two separate occasions by Midas and Jiffy Lube, both of which gave me an estimated quote in excess of $1000. Both of these times, I came out of Precision Tune Auto Care with a $20ish charge for an oil change. Enough said. I'm really sick and tired of the scamming by car mechanics and to know that I'm at peace of mind when I go to this shop makes it well worth the trip to go out to Clinton to get my car serviced. As for customer service, recently, the owner's son, CJ, offered me food from the lunch he ordered for his employees (Pizza Hut) when I went in to get new brakes. Wow. What car center does THAT??!?!!! If I were to say anything negative.....it's that CJ may give "preferential" treatment to some customers. On my recent visit, a mother of a girl who came out on America's Next Top Model came to get her car serviced. Once CJ saw the model's pic in the mom's phone, he was in full gear: he chat her up like no other, opened the store door for her as she exited, opened her car door, and made 3 customers wait in line for 10 minutes while he chatted with her outside at her car. The daughter was smoking hot. YEP. Beauty goes a long way. YEP. Can't fault him for trying to score points with mum. YEP. Bah. Since he's a nice guy I'll be a bit understanding and let him get away with that one.

Had great service at Precison Auto Tune with Paul & CJ. Was referred by a friend to this shop and…read moresaw it had great Yelp reviews so decided to give it a shot. Had just got a new (used) car and wanted someone to check it out. To my dismay, I was told here I needed new breaks and rotors. CJ strongly encouraged I return to the dealership and demand they provide them. I really appreciated that. He said he could repair it, but that having just purchased the car this was not something he felt that I should pay his shop to do. Well, they refused so I paid out of pocket here and Yelped about the experience at the dealership. Long story short, they contacted me and offered to refund half. I quickly called CJ and asked what he thought about that. He advised me that I should demand a FULL REIMBURSEMENT from the dealership based on his observations of my vehicle. So that's what I did. And that's what I got :) Appreciated his honesty and the work done. Paul's assistance as well. Was like I got a mechanic and a lawyer rolled into one. Definitely sticking with this shop! ps. Seemed like CJ knew everyone entering the shop by name so definitely a ton of return customers here. A loyal clientele base is always a good sign.

Little that I knew my Dad had been coming here before he passed away last year. When I mentioned the name to my mom it rung a bell. I called the day before explained to the receptionist about an ongoing Problem I've been having she made an appt for me. I brought my car in that morning. Only sat for about 2 hours which was good and was back on the road again. I love their friendly customer service and they make you feel comfortable. Some places just want a dollar out of you. Lie #1: Chris states "We did exactly what the customer requested however that did not get the vehicle started or her issue taken care of." We did not know what was wrong with the vehicle, which is why we brought it to him, a so-called electrical expert. We gave him what the dealership thought to be the problem. However, since he said that "What takes others months to do, was a one day job for him", we thought he could get the job done in a timely fashion. The vehicle was towed to him on 4/17/2019. Instead of not being able to complete the repair at all. Lie #2: He states"At which time she contacted her insurance company to get involved the insurance company slowed down the process considerably". It took you two months to discover that there was water damage (Something that should be done in a day, per Chris). When the insurance company was contacted on June 2nd, they immediately got involved and authorized the work. We made multiple two-way calls to him to get the status of the work. For 1.5 months the car was in the same condition until he sent it back to the dealership to reprogram a part. The dealership advised him that reprogramming the part would not correct the problem. He left it at the dealership until we came to retrieve the car from him due to his incompetence in completing the work. We had no idea the car was moved to the dealership. Before or during the transport of my vehicle to the dealership, it was damaged and he takes no responsibility. Lie #3: "Due to them having to come out go over the vehicle authorize tear down and come back out take pictures call back later with authorization so forth and so on." The insurance company was expeditious in handling the claim. You kept saying you were backed up with other work or would ignore calls or text messages. I have the documentation to prove this which will be provided in my lawsuit against you. Lie #4: "This is why the vehicle was here so long and. The customer would not let branch auto get parts she had to get them herself so we constantly had to wait for parts. I provided the initial parts during the first week of the repair. (Receipts to prove this too), after that, you ordered the parts. Lie #5: It's really unfair that a customer can write a bad review that is not factual probably why the other dealerships would not work on her Vehicle lesson learned The dealership completed the work and got the car moving in one day, which you were incapable of doing. This not only a factual review, but I hope everyone takes note of your poor and deceitful business practices.

I initially had the transmission replaced on my 2015 ford focus in 2022, ordered the part to the shop and had my car towed there. Was back on the road in less than a week. Since then I've reached out several times for various mechanical inquiries (if you've driven or owned a focus you know my pain) and Aldo has always replied quickly, gotten me on the schedule and back driving with no check engine light ASAP. I had an excellent experience at Boswell's which is where I got everything fixed for a fraction of the price. Bill and Tom, the latter of whom is the owner we're super friendly and nice. Tom's wife answers the phone and is polite and courteous. I wanted the job done quickly and efficiently so that I could get my car back on the road otherwise I wouldn't be able to move forward with the rest of my work in business meetings they were very understanding of that and made sure that they did everything to accomplish it and exceeded my expectations I have absolutely nothing horrible to say about them because they're such wonderful folks and apparently they've been in business for a very long time and they know what they do and they're good at it.
