I've ordered four pickup meals from here during the COVID19 pandemic. None of them get more than a 3 rating. Two burger orders resulted in either overcooked burgers with correctly cooked fries. Or correctly cooked burgers with almost boiled potato consistency fries. A grilled salmon dish was a disaster. The fish was sitting sideways in the box with the lemon butter sauce running all over the bottom of the box ruining the two sides. A late afternoon order of the famous fried chicken was tough, overcooked and bland with absolutely no taste in the coating; KFC does a much better job. The sides of Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, biscuits and choc chip cookies were good though. At $40 this meal is a rip off. It sucks because we live close by and need a weekly "dine out" option. read more

Dining room and full bar overlook the driving range. Menu is American. Lunch and dinner 7 days a week, breakfast on the weekends. We had lunch. Décor clean, contemporary and quiet. Couldn't ask for better service. We were quite happy with the French Dip sandwich and Caesar Salad with salmon (cooked to perfection of our request). Having the Range Cafe in the neighborhood has been a blessing. Thank goodness for General Manager Jessica Sarvey! We love the food and the menu specials. It's nice to be able to "go to the club" for a last minute dinner or to take friends that are visiting. One "needs to improve" area is table service. Even before COVID, the only area that was less than stellar was table service. Perhaps management will take note and work on it. All in all, very positive experience. read more

When it arrived, it looked a bit "stingy" compared to the first glass. As the manager walked by, I shared my feelings and his response was...(are you sitting down?)... Service is terrible n u wait long times to order drinks at the bar by one server who looks like golf surfer boy who has organization issues and cannot locate ingredients nor cannot make the drink because the ice maker is out of crushed ice. Food has little to no flavor and some is fried (except salads). They attempt to overcharge you by stating certain drinks are reduced for happy hour yet charge non happy hour prices on them. How about $ 11.00 for a virgin strawberry margarita- get real here guys! People who eat there are generally older n your first impression when u walk in is that they cater to "an assisted senior living facility" !. Great local grill for the neighborhood. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We've been here a couple of times with my inlaws. The food is solid. Kettle chips are made in house and served with three sauces. Last time we had the BBQ brisket sandwich (really good, a bit rich) served with garlic fries and the chicken club. Both were very good, the portions were huge and we probably could have split just one sandwich and added an appetizer. Overall a nice lunch experience. read more

I've never been a huge fan of turkey before but the Range Cafe made the most delicious turkey I've ever had. That is no joke! The sides were all so good! We wanted to have an early dinner after we finished a late round of 9 with our young son. We thought it would be easy to eat at this cafe. Big mistake... We had to send back a glass as it had lipstick on it. They forgot our son's drink order, even though we only ordered 2 drinks (water and juice). They didn't put in our entire food order so we ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR for mediocre sliders, pasta and hot dogs. We kept having to find someone to help us for each of the issues. We finally got an apology from a member of staff who wasn't even involved in the many mistakes the bar and wait staff made. I went here once and will probably not return. We went on a Sunday night and were there early-ish. It took a few minutes to get noticed to get seated. From there the rest of the night was a waiting game. We started with the mac and cheese. You couldn't tell what cheeses went into the sauce and the rigatoni were blown out. I ordered the special spaghetti special. They forgot the salad. The pasta was cooked al dente but wasnt finished in the sauce. The sauce itself was uninspired. The meatballs seemed to have varying textures. The garlic bread seemed to have lost the garlic. The person I was dining with had the fried chicken. That came out well overdone. We were told 'sorry but the kitchen was slammed'. My thought is even if you get slammed you dont have to turn out bad food. read more

Chicken coq au vin; chicken was moist and flavorful, mashed potatoes weren't overly buttered and creamed, and the carrots, cauliflower and broccoli were all perfectly roasted or cooked. They now use the QR code system to order (or you can order at the bar from the helpful staff and they will deliver it to your table). I prefer it this way. read more

We are Glenwood residents and always looking to support the local businesses when we can. Heard the course was reopened with a new restaurant so headed over for lunch today. What a great surprise! The Grill was so fresh and lovely with a view of the driving range. Great for families, with a kids menu, and reasonable prices. We had the fish tacos and our daughter had the kids hot dog sliders(half size dogs). Everything was delish! The service was fine but I could see it is generally a work in progress for the restaurant. After our first visit I was sure we'd never return. I wrote an honest review of that experience and soon after, heard from two very nice and apologetic members of management at the Range Cafe. They convinced us to give it another try and it was a completely different experience. We brought two friends with us and we all walked away happy as clams. We were greeted at the door (even though it is a "Please Seat Yourself" arrangement, it's nice to be acknowledged as you make our way to your chosen table) and from that moment on, the service was just perfect. There weren't many tables at the odd time we came, but the food was really fresh and delicious and the waitstaff kept busy. I'm so happy to have this in the neighborhood. read more

Great location and relaxed setting. The Fulton burger is delicious every time. The tacos are great too. Unfortunately, the service is inconsistent. Everyone has been really nice and some servers are on top of it but at times, you wait a long time and then the food comes out cold. Frequently, the order is wrong or missing components. I'm really hoping at some point, the range can overcome it's weaknesses because it has so much potential, and it's around the corner from our house. read more

Hubby and I tried the Range Cafe on a Thursday night and we were warmly greeted. We got there pretty late, the last to arrive, so no kids, no crowds. The place is nicely appointed and clean, two t.v.s and fire place at the bar area. It is casual and located at the Peacock Gap Golf Club were all are welcomed. We chose a table by the window and started with the spinach quesadilla and a glass of Zin...really delicious. Not a large menu but a nice selection e.g. ribs, fried chicken, hamburgers, pork chop, and a number of salads. We had the cobb salad that was very good, but blue cheese is not a part of this cobb. We got nothing but smiles and good service and plan to come back when we can eat outside. read more

This is tucked away from the crowds, near the south entrance to China Camp State Park. We went at 6pm on a cold Friday night. This is a newly designed place, with a large open space, very well designed. It wasn't very crowded, a few couples, several families, and a few singles at the bar. A guy was playing a guitar and singing 60's songs at the far end of the bar. He was pretty bad, but people clapped for him anyway. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which was very good, even though the sauce was barbeque flavored, which I usually dislike. My wife had the scallops, which were delicious. Our son had a burger, which disappeared in under five minutes. Our waiter, Juan, was pleasant, attentive, and entertaining. The wine list has some decent entries, at reasonable prices. Overall, we had an excellent meal for less than $100, including good wine. In the Bay Area that passes for a bargain. This place is completely unhurried, relaxed, and friendly. My GF ordered Cal Ahi Poke sashimi grade tuna in ginger & soy sauce with a avocado & aping salad. Also very delicious! If only I could have given a zero. My expectations of the range were already so low that I was surprised they could still disappoint me but alas, epic disappointments awaited. After my minutes of waiting to be seated being greeted by a server asking if I was being ignored, it should have been a clue of the ridiculousness to come. Eventually the three of us were seated at a table for two with two food menus and a drink menu. We did not mind sharing. After the third request, a third place setting arrived. Our drink orders taken, two drinks arrived, one missing and needs to be reordered. Food order taken, out of three meals, two requests require different orders due to out of ingredients. Now this is at 6:30 on Friday night. Food comes within minutes, but unfortunately these are meals for another table. Our waiter arrives back to let us know that they are additionally out of one more of the meals. Ordering a different meal means two meals show up at one time and the new meal shows up a while later. One of the meals shows up with ingredients that were specifically asked to be omitted This is the last time. I cannot ever return here. read more

If I were to say I've had worse service, then I have not given the RangeCafe a second chance, or third, or fourth. After going to the range cafe for convenient lunches and dinners, as I live on the golf course, (something multiple staff members contended due to my age) I find it astounding that their service has continued to be terribly poor. A good friend and co-worker got engaged this past weekend, so we took him out for a round of golf. After playing, we each ordered a drink and were given one menu for the four of us. When I asked for a menu, Juan told me "there it is" and would not bring any more menus over. I ordered without seeing a menu, and drinks. We then ordered a double shot of whiskey at the advice of our server, Juan, who said it would have more booze then a double jack and coke. About 45 minutes late, we attempted to order a beer/mxed drink each, after ordering three appettizers, and two entrees. We were told that we were cut off due to the double shots we already had. It took three attempts of asking to speak to a manager before they would actually present us with a manager. All we wanted to know was why we were being cut off after three drinks in two hours, but he had no response other then "ill give you one last drink" and when we said we would like to know why we were cut off, and our tab, he steadfastly agreed to remove the food in front of us, and get us on our way. He too questioned me telling him I come here frequently, and am not driving home because I live on the course (driving being his reason for us not being served). I took two months off from purchasing food from them, and unfortunately I will never be returning. the manager needs an education on hospitality. This review is about take out. Range just doesn't care. Their quality control is terrible. Portion sizes and how they prep the food is unreliable. I would give this place half a star if I could. We walked in and the hostess gave us attitude for not having a reservation, even though every time we have been there there is literally no need for a reservation. I have never seen this place more than half full, I don't understand why she was rolling her eyes and giving us attitude. After finally sitting down, we had our drink orders taken and then didn't get our drinks for another fifteen minutes. There were five waiters there and they were all running around like chickens with their heads cut off, each of them dancing around looking like they were trying their hardest to avoid our table. The waiter didn't take our order for another 5-10 minutes, and our appetizers didn't come out for another 30-35 minutes, no apologies at all or anything, and our food 10 minutes after. We waited a total of an hour and a half for dinner. I get it, sometimes the kitchen gets backed up, but the table that was the same size and ordered similar appetizers to us got their food served way before us, and they showed up 20 minutes after us. The waiter did not give a single care about us and definitely showed it, I never got a refill and my sister who wanted her water refilled by the waiter with a pitcher refilling every other table, never got her water refilled. If I could review the place just on the food, a solid four stars, but unfortunately the service was just horrible and doesn't warrant any kind reviews at all. I felt so disrespected here and I've never felt like this before. Usually the staff is attentive and friendly, but today was not acceptable and we will not be returning for a long long while. I have been going to the Range Cafe a number of times in the past couple of months and have enjoyed the food and service there. Bartenders Ryan and Taylor are friendly and continually pay attention to the needs of their customers. This is one of the best Happy Hours around (3pm-7pm) with good priced drinks and a nice selection of Happy Hour priced appetizers. I really like the $5 Chico Tacos, which is a meal in itself. Recently, I had dinner there with a group of 6. We sat out on the patio to enjoy the warm weather. Jessica served us and everyone commented on her great service. Several of us had the Halibut, which was a monthly special and nicely prepared. Sam the manager seems to run a smooth operation. Had dinner last week, empty restaurant, plenty of employees though all clustered in conversation. When I recieved the wrong drink, a very pushy old man (I presume the manager?) came over to talk to us and proceeded to annoy us for the next 15 mins trying to make small talk to get us off the subject ofy drink. Place felt extremely unproffessional. how can a restaurant make a mistake with no customers in the place and all visible employees doing nothing? Shame shame. First time at The Range, came for Sunday brunch. We had the breakfast pizza and the breakfast skillet, both were average. Also average was the service: at 10:30am only six tables occupied, but still service - menus delivered, coffee delivered, order taken, order delivered - was slow.
