I have worked with a fair number of contractors, over the years, and . . . without question . . . these guys are absolutely the best. I have used Rangel on two fairly significant projects. Two or so years ago, they redid our large outdoor lighting system, replacing everything with LED lights and putting everything, including our garage doors and gates, on a wireless home automation system. This month, they removed our old home entertainment system and replaced it with a new, state-of-the-art one, including custom speakers, an 8k TV, universal automation, and so forth. As part of the project, they ended up moving and updating our WiFi system and cabling. They also had to coordinate closely with drywall and painting contractors. The Rangle folks, especially Ryan and Cris, are very nice and a pleasure to work with. They are knowledgeable, creative, energetic, thorough, neat, and patient in explaining technology. They were ALWAYS on time and did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it. Their prices, while not bargain basement, are quite reasonable. On this current job, they actually outbid another, well known company. We're looking forward t our next project with Rangle. How often can you say that about home contractors? read more

Requested a quote from there website. I indicated that I wanted design and installation of whole house audio, home theatre installation and a security system. I received a call from that area code but was unable to pick up the call. I later called the phone number for Rangel Electric listed on there website. The person on that answered the phone was unable to answer any of my questions. I ask her "when I would be contacted by someone who could help me?". She replied "I do not have a ETA on when someone will contact you." I then asked "will it be a matter of days or weeks when I will be contacted?" She replied, " I do not have an ETA for a return contact". I said "so it will be more than a few days." Dead silence on the other end and then she hung up. Not the best way to get a contract. I will follow-up here and let you know if this is just a fluke. --Update, Ryan call me back an explained that my initial encounter was switch any answering service. He was friendly, answered all my intallation questions. So far so good...I'll update the review as we get going! read more

They provided a clear and thorough proposal up front. Price, scope of work, and timing did not deviate from proposal. Ryan and his team conducted themselves professionally and honestly. What a relief to find a Company with employees who really know their stuff and aren't interested in padding the bill with unnecessary work. I always "farm out" electrical work, as I think there is too much risk involved in trying to do it myself. In this case, an entire wall of outlets suddenly went out. It wasn't the breaker. Of course I thought this was going to involve some huge repair costing hundreds of dollars, like replacing the wall, etc. It turned out that just one outlet needed to be replaced. The serviceman also gave me a lot of other useful information and advice. He mentioned that outlets don't last forever, and mine are probably 40+ years old. He also helped me replace a flourescent bulb, one of the 4 foot long bulbs (which I am deathly afraid will burst--which can happen). He gave me some advice as to how to removed the heavy plastic scent from an air mattress I recently bought. AND he told me that his sisters have had problems with the Maytag washer that I am having problems with. All in all, a very sweet guy. Rangle did a ton of work for us: lights, wiring, installation of appliances, outlets, outdoor lighting and indoor and outdoor entertainment systems. Worked with them for the best part of nine months. Work teams and management great to work with. Scheduled to our needs, cleaned up everything after each install. Had to do some special painting and touch up and it came out so you can't even see where the holes were. Bids and bills right on. No surprises. Last year Ryan helped us select and then installed a new TV and other audio/visual components in our rental in Palm Springs. All systems worked beautifully. He sent us a set of instructions for the Harmony remote that we were able to pass on to guests. The whole system is pretty simple, and most guests are able to use it without problems. Damn I thought I had posted a review. And if any company here in the desert deserves a 5 star review its Rangel Electric. From the first call they were above and beyond professional. They fixed loose switches, hung two ceiling fans, hung three pendent lights and a dining room light. They showed up on time and finished faster than I expected. I'm rewiring my house for home automation. I was able to handle most of it myself, but I had trouble with one of the switches as it was wired differently from the others. I called and got someone to come out. Edgar arrived within the hour. He studied the wiring diagram for a few minutes and then was able to up with a solution.
