This place is the biggest ripoff I came with a buddy to figure out status on his suppressor, and no one had a clue so the manager came out and basically started yelling and basically told my buddy he was S O L even though my buddy has a receipt they called the police. The manager even shoved my buddy who's been customers for several transactions, my friend is a retired Lt. Col I will never do business with here.

This place was horrible, not honest at all. I called to make sure they had an item before driving an hour to pick it up. Edward confirmed and when I got to the store he said they could order it. What a waste. Don't go here. read more

I was in a hurry to get a hard case for two shotguns before flying out of SAT on a Sunday afternoon. I dropped by Ranger on a whim, thinking they'd probably be closed ... which they were. To my great fortune and surprise, however, Ed was there unloading some items into the store on his off day. He invited me and my son into the store and showed me the cases he had in stock. He introduced us to his security manager, Roscoe, whose hand I did not shake ;-). Ed did some great puzzle-piece fitting to get both shotguns (broken down) into a smaller case than I had imagined, thus allowing me to buy a less-expensive product than I had planned. He could certainly have "up-sold" me on a more expensive case, but instead paid attention to my needs and fulfilled them at a great price. We need more businessmen like that! Great community ambassador for San Antonio. read more

So disappointed!! Will never spend a dime in this place. I was actually looking forward to going in to this store. Planned it out a couple days in advance to give myself enough time to go and check things out...I was looking for my next AR15. The store was neat and tidy. Not a lot of inventory but enough to keep me looking. They weren't too busy. A couple of customers maybe. No one greeted me as I walked in. No big deal. I walked around a bit. The entire 35-ish minutes I was there, not once was I acknowledged. Not once was I asked if I needed assistance. Not once was I approached and asked what I was interested in purchasing. I stood at different counters and peered in...no one helped me. Other customers slowly trickled in and were readily helped. I supposed I'm the wrong skin color. Little do they know I'm a military retiree and former law enforcement. No loss for me..I went the same day to Randolph Base Exchange...got a great deal on an AR and a .45 and saved myself the sales tax. read more

I rcvd very poor customer service from the sales rep that handles suppressors. He told me on the phone that they had two ultra 7's in stock so I took off work and drove in from Corpus Christi to purchase 1. Come to find out that they had 0 in stock so, 4+ hours of driving, cost of gas and time off work all because some guy completely disregarded any sort of professionalism or attention to detail. Worst experience I ever had with any retail store! How hard is it take time for a customer and look in the display cabinet? read more

Today I was literally on my way to another gun shop when I saw Ranger's billboard on 410. I immediately turned around and went to visit the store. I'm sure glad I did! I wasn't expecting the store to be fitted so nicely. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The store was well stocked with accessories, gear and apparel. I will definitely visit again and maybe purchase my AR, over and under, and additional carry guns from them! read more

I heard a local radio ad for Ranger Firearms on Friday, 8/15. Any newly added options for gun shopping in San Antonio are always a cause for celebration. So on Saturday, 8/16, I made the drive from New Braunfels to San Antonio to check it out. Ranger has an easily accessible location right off Austin Highway. I walked in and saw a decidedly limited selection of guns and accessories struggling to occupy a very nicely polished retail space. Bear in mind that this is a brand new business, and I expect it will take the better part of a year or so for Ranger to be up and running on all cylinders. If you are into AR-15s, this place is definitely worth a look. They had no fewer that twenty assorted AR-15 variations in stock and on display. Aside from these, it was the predictable 9mm/.40/.45 semi-auto pistol menu, very few revolvers, but a decent selection of shotguns and rifles. My biggest gripe about Ranger was the non-imagined lack of customer service, or even customer acknowledgement. There were several salespeople in the shop as I walked around for about twenty minutes. At no time was I ever greeted or offered any kind of assistance. I observed one salesman dutifully polishing a glass display case as I strolled by, invisible. I was wearing a t shirt, cargo shorts, and flip flops during my visit to Ranger, which, admittedly, can convey an image of financial non-worthiness. I have to wonder if a pair of pleated khakis and a Magellan shirt would have garnered me more attention from the sales staff. I am sure that I will give Ranger another chance in the future if I am in SA, but I doubt I will make a special trip to do so. read more

Ranger Firearms! What a place. There are some places you go for the absolute lowest price. Others you go back to because of the atmosphere, service and the people. That is how I think about Ranger. Ranger always has what I need when I need it. They are my first go to shop anytime I need parts, accessories, sights, mags, ammo etc. They also have an excellent selection of firearms. My favorite part though, is the people and service. All the guys there are fast to help, friendly, and knowledgeable. I go all the time, but have yet to buy an actual gun there...LOL. However I have bought quite a bit of parts, accessories, mags, ammo, cleaning supplies, etc. Because I know they'll have it, and it'll be priced reasonably. Plus I just like the shop a lot, and the people there are the kind that I like to support. Keep up the good work guys. Eventually I'll break the ice on a new gun from ya'll and I'm thinking it's going to be a Kriss Vector ;) read more

A lot larger than it looks driving by. Best selection of sidearms I've seen in the city including on base being military. Extremely knowledgable about legalities and will sign you up for concealed carry classes. Very helpful staff. Even the youngest guy who looks to be about 19 knew more than most people I know about weapons. Rifles can get a little pricey but great selection, accessories, suppressors, gear, clothing, blades, they got it all. And theres a friendly Dalmatian pup who lays by the door to greet you. Seems family owned and seems to have a loyal, exclusive customer base since its hidden in the corner of a shopping mall strip next to L&L's Hawaiian BBQ. They don't do military discount but I'd recommend this place over Academy or any of the other mega weapon stores. A+++++ & 10 Stars. read more

Had a great experience with Ranger Firearms. I walked in two days before a bird hunting trip to Argentina. I had a vague idea of what I needed for my wife and two sons, and the staff quickly augmented my shopping list and saved us. They recommended shooting gloves, shooting pads, shooting glasses, ear plugs, and some apparel. What they did not have in stock they had shipped overnight to their store. When we arrived at our lodge we were using the same equipment that our hosts recommended. We shot A LOT, and shoulders and hands and most importantly, ears were all fine upon our return. Edward DeWees and his staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable upon entering their store for the first time. So much so that I have frequented their store many times and made it my go to FFL. Every time I go into Ranger Firearms I find more than just firearms, its an all around store for the sportsman. Guns, Ammo, Clothing, Knives and gear you need for the next hunt or trip to the range. Unlike many "gun" stores the staff wants to be there and is knowledgeable about product and actually attempts to help you. I will definitely visit Ranger again, plus I like the mascot "Tonto" the dog, he's their #1 salesman! read more

this place is awesome , Im a do it yourself kind of guy but I ran into issues just to set a trigger pin back in place . the staff helped me out actually taught me how to properly install my parts for free. plus ill back for a SIG I saw . This store has white personnel who are not aware of the current laws in place , going on about trump and his own personal life very unprofessional. If you have a shop open don't waste my time and know your laws !
